think we haven't put as much pressure on defenses as we want to um you know really just putting the ball in play you know making things be in motion uh to you know open situations like that up for us you know it's something that we did really well last year and you know for us to you know do what we need to do want playoffs come around when you do that is there pressure that build I mean when you know you see maybe some results not go your way you know past couple months whatever it is you know when when the pressure builds does it get harder in those situations when you guys are maybe thinking about it yeah it does I think it comes internally uh just wanting to do uh for the team in those moments uh really takes away from the approach sometimes so being able to you know get back to what we were doing take a step back understand you know we're good and we're all doing what we can to contribute we're going to be great so um have a little time to do it but you know have confidence we can I moving you up to the number two spot what does that vote of confidence mean just kind of after the stretch that you've had over the last couple months yeah you know just uh been trying to get to that spot in terms of um the numbers in terms of showing you know my progression during the season uh you at the same time it's mixing things up a little bit for guys that might be struggling at the time uh I never know if it sticks or if it's going to change uh that's not up for me to decide but I do uh look forward to contributing there why do you feel like you're having better at bats now than maybe earlier um probably a lot to do with rhythm I think the Rhythm at the play is better uh confidence is definitely there um not trying to do too much just leading to a lot of good results and you know taking my walks along the way you felt like playing without injury has been a big factor with all that you've kind of dealt with over the last 18 months yeah 100% uh you know just able to be myself out there you know firing off on all cylinders I know when I'm doing that I'm have the ability to do some some great things you guys wi and losses have been so inconsistent in the second half and haven't really been streaky one way or the other I mean do you feel like maybe this team hasn't played its best baseball yet maybe this will work out and you will peek at the right time with late sep yeah I think it's pretty obvious we haven't played our best um you know but still find a way to be a 500 team in the midst of that I think it's pretty big for us uh like you said being able to catch that high streak right at the right time is is all it takes when you look at when you look at the guys in here do you feel a level of frustration collectively that you haven't felt like maybe since the Early times you were here um no I feel like even when there were there's always been a bunch of moving pieces even when we were you know starting to put Good Seasons together um so even with the guys that we have in here as collective you know there a lot of individual talent that just needs to come together and put it all out there on field you mentioned putting pressure on the defense you and Matteo were kind of that one two to have a green light on the base paths but you can't teach speed so how do you make up for the loss of him and trying to get some more guys to do that yeah I think uh guys playing their own game is a big part of that you know um if you're a guy that's not necessarily a power guy you know in those moments where you're trying to get those runs in you know might not be a good idea to try to go for it you know it's just one of those things where playing your game is what's going to help so um yeah we got a couple of guys that can run picking their spots to Ste bases you know along with me it's going to be huge to uh continue to put that pressure uh yeah just guys take a deep breath that's what I need to do in terms of the adjustments you've made throughout the year has it been kind of about getting back to you were in 2021 had the the 3030 season or is it more Evolution as a hitter kind of becoming someone different now yeah I'd say um I think the biggest part was for me to stop chasing that season you know that season was was awesome you know but at the same time uh you know I think the the reason why I'm putting up numbers that are similar to it because I'm no longer chasing that guy you know I'm just being who I am
