us shortly um I how's it going Monday good man I I got I got nostalgic with our music for a minute because of the news that Ted lasso might be coming back so I know like I wait like another two years we talked about a little on Saturday but it looks like sounds like it's Happ day it sounds like Jason SAS is back Hannah watting Ham's back what's his name Jeremy I forget his last name the guy that plays Higgin is back yeah um sounds like it's happening so good stuff good I'll take it all day to balance out the bad news from Saturday um how are you doing how's your weekend uh I mean mine is Saturday night it was pretty good um it was quite productive I'm not feeling great right now but other than that it has nothing to do with the game I just don't feel great but um yeah I mean sorry to hear that it's all good but no um you know the game could have been worse I will say we'll talk about it yeah it could have been it could have been worse I mean fortunately LA Galaxy you know scored twice in the second half to put the game Out Of Reach and you know like you're kind of L to Atlanta didn't look bad but ultimately that golf of talent that we talked about right uh before the match ultimately showed itself and it showed how I guess how much further Atlanta you know it I mean it seems like sometimes it seems like they're close right but um other times it seems like they're far away and I feel like that golf really opened up in the second half but um we'll talk about that scars and specs.com obviously for all your Lena United news analysis opinion link to the store get a mug spes of course follow us on socials but yeah let's just get right to it um Saturday LA Galaxy um two-nil loss and I feel like let's talk about you just the match in general first before you get to Mir and Chuck because Mir Chuck came in of course it the second Tyler most important DP to come on the pit on Saturday night of course Michel Roy came in and had immediate impact but you know as you were saying earlier they weren't bad you know they could have been up two n to be honest with you in the first half you there are some good qualities is it wasn't all terrible Doom and Gloom and all of that there are some good moments some good pieces of play but again like we've seen so many times with this club they can't put it all together it's just yeah it it's frustrating and like I said earlier you see some bits where you're like okay they're close they're close they have to they they're almost there but then other times you see you know just gosh we're really far away from where this team needs to be and I see Joe saying in the comments s suck that we could have been asum this has been giving up through no at half time I mean I I don't disagree at least two n like I said you saw again some pockets of good play some pockets of quality U Doug Robertson wrote about in his column on Monday he said you know the ball is in the net at least the ball's in the net at least they U make some positive things happen but there are some points where you know they had to they had to know better positioning Silva gets a goal called off because of offside things like that um and then of course Galaxy scored twice in the second half um I mean we I feel like we all expected them to lose but it's wasn't a blowout I guess I guess right now that's all you know for right yeah I mean you know we went into this game expecting it to be tough for a variety of reasons the Galaxy's a a objectively good team they are like they're actually really good this year yeah they've done a complete 180 since last year and we talked about it with our our buddies um over at news around the Galaxy or news Galaxy rather sorry um and then wise men say Tommy's gonna get on here and talk in a little bit I think about uh last night but um really happy today I know right another trophy the uh but the Galax is a good team and it's easy to look at this score line and say freaking more of the same but I just caution fans against that to the same degree like I'm not saying forget the first portion of this season because it's not been great and it's not to lose but you had opportunities you had two goals that were called back rightfully it's not like they were close they but you you had the you had the things happening inside the box now you were having to rely a lot on you know counterattacking transition football but that's okay in cases like this in in games where you're playing against a team that is really good at their house sometimes you're not going to be able to just control the ball the entire time it's not easy but you you adjusted and you defended well for the most part and you know you you gave your team a chance to go and and get something out of it and the attack just couldn't quite make it happen um they couldn't stay consistent with it but they put the Galaxy under some some spells of pressure some some moments where they were really really knocking on the door again the other two offside calls so it didn't look like they just came out flat right like they came out to play they defended well and I think as fans maybe like it's easy to over the past couple Seasons to to go back and be like oh God you know we're not possessing the ball like we do which means we're not playing well and I understand that but this team's defense has actually been really good this year Brad Gan made a penalty save was terrific yeah like phenomenal um you know ston Gregerson Derrick Williams like you know they if you get putt under that much pressure for so long ultimately you're going to give up a goal you you can't just rely on your center backs and your Defenders to do the job you've got to change the tempo a little bit and I think maybe that was where Atlanta struggled but I mean that defense kept taking shots kept taking shots kept taking shots until they just couldn't handle it anymore the damn pry broke yeah I mean and it had to at some point so especially when you're going up against a team like that that has so many uh attack and threats and then you bring on you know Marco Roy and it's just like all right well yeah they have luxuries upon luxuries just like Atlanta used to have used to have not anymore but you know one one play that really stood out to me was J Fortune I think Jay Fortune had at least the first half was terrific um he he had a really great pass to start an attack on the on the offsides call on the offsides call but I I think he he was as good as he has been for Atlanta United and again that's that's credit to the academy that's credit to Ty Scot with the tunes that's credit to Matt Lori his staff for the work they've done with players like Jay who can come in against the top team in the Western Conference that play as well as he did he wasn't perfect you know he it wasn't a 10 out 10 performance but he was really good and that really impressed me as Dex mccardy as his retirement is on the threshold as you know William B was forced out the lineup do due the hip pain he stay a day hopefully he's back against Charlotte SCC but it's good that you have a young player that can come in and step in and take his position and take his opportunities well I think he did just that all throughout the night again not not a perfect night it wasn't mistake free but he was about as good you could U have been in that situation and you Jay really impressed me and I said next step in this growth right as he gets more playing time as he gets more you know more time underneath him he's just gonna get better and better and that that that excites me that excites me really it begs the question you know does it make you I hate to say it but doesn't make a player like mu B maybe a little bit Expendable at this point you have le of course who is pen to the lab every night but no you have Jay Fortune coming up are you ready I don't think you're ready to make the move right now obviously but is there a world where just m b Club kid look to get a return on him and give J Fortune the spot fulltime I mean I don't think that's farfetched at all do you no not at all and and I want to tie in a couple of these comments to actually to this Jay Fortune conversation I'll say really quick um wise men say really I just got to address this because I know um they listen often yeah first- time caller long time listener is it true the new gu s with Atlanta because he loves rap music or was that a Fabrica quote no that that was that was in fact we both heard it that we both heard it yep so uh no he he and we knew this coming in like when it was first announc and it was kind of mentioned like who he was he was talking about how much he loves Atlanta rap music which is super cool good good thing to good thing to do good first impression yeah yeah that's a great way to endear yourself to the fans immediately yeah um but no so Jay jumping back to Jay Fortune um he was one of the ones I wrote about in my article over on the website first reaction always do it at you know the final whistle J fortune and to a to a degree Jamal tiar I actually thought had a phenomenal game for different reasons Jay Fortune though he was playing literally up the spine of yeah of Atlanta basically from the number six all the way up to it at points he was playing higher up than You're Number Nine than Jamal tiar or Daniel Ros and yeah it felt like he wanted to put the game on his back and he tried he made some absolutely outstanding through passes through balls for to break uh loose some counter attacks and one of those I think I think one of them maybe both of them um were ones that ended up in the back of the net I'll be it offside eventually but yeah I mean it was just one of those where you know Mya's been having a tough go of it it was a late Friday night scratch from the list so of course the next one up is Jay and Jay's been good throughout the season it's not like he's not been good but he is Young And so you you expect him to kind of be in that role of coming in in the 65th 70th minute to say help see had a game the occasional start whatever but he came out and he was to me man of the match now you could arguably give it to Brad too just for the penalty save and some other stuff but no man of the match like he was really really good um I liked what I saw yeah and I think it was Anthony uh yeah going back he said we can't keep making excuses for no results I agree I agree totally um however I also have to point out the things that if I see that something looks better you know I'm I'm GNA point out like to me this was not the RSL game the RSL game you you shot yourself in the foot in the first 20 seconds and then you played really well and then you went into the locker room and you came back and you looked like a different team and you fell apart this one you were more or less consistent and it was a slow drop off right as as you got into that 60th minute 65th minute until the four the first goal was scored um but it wasn't like day and they had an idea I think they didn't look completely clueless like like they have in in some matches before um it looked like they had you know they were they were an inferior team in terms of just their results and their talent right now playing against a superior team at their house on yeah 3,000 mile trip three different time zones like that's what it looked like it didn't look like it was just a complete crap show like some of the matches that we've seen previously still not good like you've got to win but yeah trying to take the optimism where I can get it so I was looking at F mob and kind of kind back to the team performance I was looking at F mob and the ratings and all of that so Brad gazan man of the match 8.2 but Fortune had a 6.8 uh he is the he was tied with no I'm sorry I'm gonna scratch that point no he was 6.8 he was a 6.8 which yes under H yeah I think yeah he they maybe fult him him for the goals is my yeah F I think our articles are on F mob yeah just so y'all know y'all can go check them out yeah but I feel like they faulting him at for the goals is a little bit harsh for Jay but I think he was a lot better than lot better than 6.8 any anytime you're you're a midfielder or Defender and you get you get some goal scored on you it's instantly going to drop that number right there's nothing you can do about it besides go and score other goals to help bring that number back up it's kind of like your kill death ratio in Call of Duty it's a it's a freaking frustrating number to pay attention to no it is it is uh mirin tuuk you want to talk about mirin tuuk yeah talk about the ratman himself the ratman himself I you I I he was on the field super long but I I like from what I saw from him he did get a ton of touches granted he had a shot that I mean didn't really miss by much to be honest that shot was it gave it gave John McCarthy a lot to think about gave everybody a lot to think about know what's weird is how much time it gave everybody to think about it in the air and it still almost went in yeah so you know maybe another day that goes in it makes it a whole different match but you know it's it's tough to Judge Too Much on a player that wasn't out there that long maybe like half an hour or so but from what I saw he was good I think once he get a piece in here that can combine with him well and we won't talk about the previous transfer window because we can go on all day about they should have done it then I think once you get a piece in here that that can combine well with him get that can just fit in with him during the winter transfer I think is going to be a totally different story you hope that at least initially he can affect the match in positive Fashions I think he did just a little bit against La not to a massive extent again he was out he didn't play but for 30 minutes plus stoppage time but you saw the qualities there you saw that left foot that GAR lager was talking about you saw a little bit of that attacking prowess and I imagine he'll start against Charlotte on Saturday and we'll get to see a little bit more of him and hopefully with 60 Minutes under his belt maybe 60 75 minutes or so under his belt we'll get a much much different view much better view of what he can do and who he is I think you have to look at him as not just a goal scorer not just a playmaker but both combined and Atlanta won't won't be depending on him to score a lot of goals per se but they obviously be looking for him to combine it's good to have both it's good to have both in Your Arsenal but again Saturday I would expect for him to start and then see know what he can do with a full mat of his belt another week of training under his belt Charlotte are a tough defensive team and we don't get too much into Charlotte today we'll say that for later in the week but charlot are a tough defensive team and they're going to need um a lot of attacking prow to beat Charlotte and break them down but what you think I I thought he he showed well for himself you mentioned and one thing remind me I want to hit on the uh the question over from our Discord that Milan asked about the uh about what the reasonable expectations for mirin choke are for the rest of the season yeah um but I thought the Galaxy had a very very very clear plan on on marking him out of the game as much as possible the moment he came on because that they knew right they knew he was coming on just like Atlanta new Marco Roy was coming on of course Atlanta found out about Royce like the night before like everybody else did right um but you know one team did a better job of marking out their main playmaker or one of their main Playmakers in the case of the Galaxy um but he still found a way to maximize the touches he did have which I thought was was good to see because you know that's one of the frustrating things about being a striker or uh you know number 10 if a team is dead set on marking you out of a game they can make it very difficult for you to impact the game in any way so you have to take advantage of the touches you do get he had the shot that you mentioned and he also had a pass out wide to I don't know if it was to Shae or who it was was out to the left side at the top of the box and it was on a dime it was on a dime and you know we talk about that left foot and it's still way too too small of a sample size to to Really determine much of anything but you can be excited absolutely about what you did see because the mark of a good player is one that is going to take advantage of the of the few touches if they only get a few right and then absolutely run you ragged if you allow them to get a lot of touches so that shot that he took absolutely could have changed the game yeah but what kind of threw me during that sequence was the shot it looked I mean spot on like some of the stuff we've seen out of his highlight reels he it's just he puts a very unique kind of curve on the ball and he is dead on I mean that one hit the the woodwork and it's just funny because he doesn't he doesn't Tito vaba these these shots right he he doesn't drill them 100 miles an hour um he's not Lon Messi who just has a very you know this per right perfect way of of you know taking his free kicks or taking his shots it was very unique in the way that that ball kind of traveled and and it's but we've seen it in these highlight reels and to see it kind of not in person but you know live uh it it just looked like it wasn't going anywhere near the goal until it did right and it and and I think it took everybody by surprise and then of course after you've got the players talking about and this dude's left foot it's off shame yeah yeah so I mean I'm excited for him I'm excited that he's here I think he's absolutely going to make the team better and I think yeah you have to have reasonable expectations but you mentioned goal scorer playmaker I'll add one more I think it kind of ties into the playmaker aspect but he has to make the guys around him better no matter who they are and I think I think we saw a little bit of that on Saturday night that's what you have to have and I think he's going to provide that do you you mention kind of free kicks and again I was we only expect Leo messing for him but do you use him as a free kick specialist I don't know um I hope many free kicks he took um with his previous clubs so yeah I don't know I don't know it'll be interested to see um to see what they do with him as far as that's concerned um Joe B saying U we'll go back to Joe B's comment real quick he says Amador held up well I felt um I I thought Amador was good I thought he was pretty decent I mean not perfect but pretty decent he was busy yeah he was had his handful yeah he did he did um and he got 6.8 on F for what it's worth um but how do how do you think he did I thought he did well um he's signing yeah I mean in the attack he had like early on he had kind of an errant pass but it was he did everything right to get to the the point to to play the ball in and it wasn't off by much right it wasn't bad um but one thing I did notice a lot was in moments where he might have gotten beat or slipped up or made he didn't really make many mistakes but had a couple he wasn't one to just put his head down and give up he fought and tracked back and did everything he could to to put himself back in a position to still impact the play defensively and help his team out um I I like what I saw I thought you know it's it's also another one of those instances of he's playing with new guys back there he doesn't have the chemistry like this is his first MLS game know he played in leagues cup but this is his first MLS game and so though he's been with the team here now for little over a month um and yeah Joe saying Galaxy Wingers are fast they're freaking really fast and he did really well so I think if you can do that against you know guys like painel and Gabriel PE and you know those kind of guys like you can you can handle most Wingers in the league so yeah I mean I'm not worried about that position as far as a starter I think he's he's good I think he's got it again small sample size hopefully it doesn't fall off like some other people on the left side of the pitch have this year but um I I think you you've got your starter now you're gonna have to go find some Dev yeah I was gonna say two about Amador he's a new player as well the sample size is small like you were saying yeah it's too early to make judgments about him I saw so on social media saying yeah he's looks like he's no better than a backup or something like that I forget what it was but was just too early for that yeah like he he's essentially is a transfer Windows setting granted he's signed as a free on July 1 but you know how many matches have we seen for him two um well yeah two two starts or yeah two starts and like you said his first MLS Match so just way too early to make ajustment about him good or bad but yeah I think we can both agree he was good um Williams and Gregerson I thought put a good shift as well um personally I thought they did um Gregerson he saved a Williams it was saved a shle I thought in the first half yeah but it's just it's just goes fact I think Derek is just a just been a very under underrated acquisition for alen that just a waiver wire um not waiver wire but a waiver player that they picked up it's turning to be a really strong Defender I mean he's not like MLS best 11 Center back I don't think anyone expected him to be that but he's been good he's been really really good and he just adds that quality adds that veteran presence to the back line he add that experience in MOS that ston doesn't have and I think they make a good partnership um together so it's good to see him you know he was back in the LA first time well not the first time since he left the team but yeah first time you know going back to a familiar place a familiar territory familiar fans so that he did well in this appearance um I will take two guys like ston and Derek who are they're I mean to me they're both well above average center backs I really I really feel that but I will take two even if they were mediocre I will take two mediocre center backs that just work together over two really really really good center backs that have no chemistry at all because Atlanta's had that before and the defense was terrible right you got two guys back there who they know how to handle business Joe saying ston has some Wheels yes he does that dude can track back with with anybody in this league and then some speed yeah he dude runs man but he he just like both of them together they just work well they have chemistry I think they know each other's roles they know their roles they make the two Wing backs better as well because they do they all communicate very well so I I'm not GNA change much and gray saying in the chat too um you know Williams is the bargain of the century for us phenomenal value for what he's been able to give us a center back yeah don't change like it's weird saying this but your center backs you don't need to mess with them at all in this offseason leave them alone leave them alone because you got them two well maybe besides AB Bram you got to figure out something with that contract but Dereck Williams ston Gregerson and then your two young guys in Noah cob and efra Morales like that's a solid Center back cor you know because at least now you know what you're getting out of your young guys and they've done well also so unless like a new coach comes in and says no we're playing a fullon you know back three back five with three center backs um maybe you go out and you find one more or you renegotiate a bram's contract or something I don't know that's the only reason I would see this team trying to even mess with the center back core in the offseason you have too much other stuff to worry about yeah I see a pooch you the theti night just his passes have just so much venom on them so much speed it's just tough to get used to if you're not ready for it yeah and he's he's just such a good facilit is you knowly you know it's just disappointing that L United doesn't have a player like that and we can go on about Ross do now my thing yeah hopefully hopefully but again you know going back to what I was saying earlier it's just a massive Gulf between Atlanta and La just talent wise I mean if you line up the players side by side La definitely will have the advantage in a lot of those spots ex uh yeah in a lot of those spots and you know it's just shows that Atlanta just has still a lot of work to do before they get to the point where they can compete against a team like that again they compet it well they they showed decently but again you know the krck foundation showed like they have so many times this season and you know just from a roster standpoint just still a long way to go there's still a lot of players that they need to really run things to the form really put things together and become a competitive Force once again and Major League Soccer and you hope that you see more of that manifest itself um in the winter you know again we hope we all hoped we all thought that there'll be attacking player signed um in the in the uh in the summer transfer window secondary transfer window didn't happen of course and fans are right to be frustrated but I mean you gota you gotta work super hard in the winter what it sounds like is what it feels like is some of these moves will be within MLS I think because a little bit easier to do within MLS rather than pick a player in season um from overseas so I gu that's that's where I stand but yeah it's just a a lot of work to do a lot of work to do yeah yeah I mean there's and that's the thing like we knew coming out of this summer window that it wasn't going to be a full 180 because right I mean Atlanta just didn't get the Acquisitions I think or I know that they wanted to get like they didn't do and it wasn't for lack of trying I think where people are pissed off and it's it's okay to be pissed off like it's absolutely okay you should have I get you know not wanting to make Panic signings yeah but also like soccer is a big Sport and there's a lot of talent out there and I I know you can only cast that net as big as you can cast it right but anyway I'm not going to get off of that tangent it's okay to be frustrated about it yeah that being said one guy wasn't going to come in and completely change this was going to happen um it's and I I do think he's going to make it better but it's just like going into the opening game of this season against Columbus was kind of a weird one like you're coming up against the the Champions the guys that knocked you out of the the playoffs last year right that was a tough game on the road tough game well you did okay that game wasn't bad right it was a one-nil loss it wasn't bad yeah but um and if I'm not mistaken didn't Brad didn't save a penalty in that one did he he did he did weird there's so manys um but you come out of you know the summer window and your roster is admittedly decimated in terms of DPS and all that you weren't able to get what you wanted but you came back out and you played at least a better game you had a better showing of yourself than you had even at home against some of your opponents this season like as recently as a month and a half ago less than a month and a half ago you played way better than you played against Santos Laguna yeah against the LA Galaxy in la oh absolutely not the end of the world that being said I still think this team has the talent to go and make it to the playoffs are they gonna go and win the whole thing no not playing like this no somebody's got to dig deep and figure out a way to get these points and start converting zero to one or one to three you can't keep settling for these these losses yeah but losing against the LA Galaxy 2-n at their house is not the worst thing in the world yeah and Doug wrote about it um the AJC in this column you know it it comes down to again the team being clinical and and that's where that gets thrown out a lot but I think he's looking at the XG for Atlanta and how they're not matching up to that but it's just frustrating because you know they have chances you know it's not like they're not getting chances period they have chances they should have been again couple of goals that should have been on the board against La the best team in the west a team excuse me much more talented than you so I think that's where the frustration is again you know you know pan talked a lot you know about those little moments and again those little moments that Atlanta gets in those little the moments don't manifests enough and you know it's not make not to make excuses for the team because he have to win games at the end of the day but you know you have to convert you have to take those chances and you know again team didn't and again that's another another loss so I mean I know you're confident about them making the playoffs and he still might but I mean they they can't afford to drop you know many more of these you have a very winnable match about as winnable as a match could be I guess away from home against charlott SE again a really tough defensive team I mean matches like that you have to win you know you have to come out and be the protagon protagonist in the match he come out play all 90 minutes this team EST strella was putting together 90 minute performances you know I saw this chat someone was saying when de came out everything changed I mean that can't happen happen I actually gonna make that that point like that's true um and because he was that he's that you know break glass in case of emergency that number six that he reads the game so well yeah Jeff renow they read the game so well that they help allow your center backs to absorb more pressure but not break and he comes out and you lose that very very crucial piece and it yeah it can't just be one guy like Jay Fortune as great of a game as he had he's not going to be the guy that's going to go back and help dictate the full tempo of the match he doesn't have the experience and it's nothing against him he just doesn't have the experience that's where you need a guy like miuma to to be able to do what he's supposed to do and that's where if you're going to make that change unfortunately I think you've got to drop BTO slish back completely to play as the soul number six because he wasn't up until that point yeah when he when Dax came out Bart BK can handle it he can do that job but he was kind of playing almost more of like as a as a as a second eight a lot of times and even as a 10 at some points um so yeah I think there's so many little fine aspects of it where you call it coaching call it discipline whatever you want to call it but I don't think it's that that dax's being brought out is irreparable I just think it's the the very specific decision has to be made because you you're sitting on like 30% possession at that Point you're playing counterattacking football whether you like it or not so you've got to have that guy there to help absorb pressure if you take him out of the game then you have exactly what happens with the goals where you have a late Runner into the box yep and he drills it home and that's I mean that's textbook you know defending it's textbook defending and unfortunately it went bad as soon as Dax came out at least um we did it wasn't like 6 nil or anything like that or 5 like the RS beat Montreal on Saturday so at least it wasn't 5 nil like the r beat Montreal on Saturday yeah that weird DC Dallas game four the half yeah 43 yeah um but yeah that's LA or Atlanta United and La U Atlanta at Charlotte on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium um leak's cup we thought we were supposed to have Tommy talking about leak cop he was there covering it for us um crew won again Kucha scored again I mean what else is do scoring it extra time or not extra time stoppage time I should say um to break a one-1 tie and then they add it one more and stopage time to win 3-1 I mean it it's just amazing how good the crew are it's just a terrific team just a very well-run organization the ownership uh Dr Edwards a hasslin family um not best penko um because best penko is gone um I forget the guy that took over for him yeah uh the guy that replaced him um I can't yeah um nanzi wol for nzi the entire staff another trophy for them and another spot in Champions Cup granted they were already going to be in Champions Cup like vir make it to the final but they're in Champions Cup and you know next year they're going to be out for Revenge you know they they feel slight it I'm sure after not having Come Away with the Champions Cup title last year uh or a few months ago I should say Obviously you have the illness going through the team but no this is get you but this is this is the best team in MLS right now like top to bottom the standings say with they say but I think when it comes to I think Stan it's a tall that's what that's who it was and what you're saying you got to remember Cola still has like three games in hand on pretty much everybody else yeah exactly and and and they slipped some a little bit early in the season but I mean that's just the fixtures that's just fix your congestion just the number of matches that they play but now that they can focus solely on ML they can take advantage like you're were saying on those matches in hand and I don't know maybe make a push make a final push for um for the top of the standings I mean Cincinnati is pretty much out of the picture right now um but yeah they have like you said three matches in hand that's nine points if you can get them all um and maybe you can give Miami a little bit more to think about if you can but yeah you gota you gota take those chances Milan watching the crew makes our struggles hurt that much more especially with nagby there you know out to nagby it's going to be that constant reminder of where this team was and you know the fact that he walked is just you wish every day that you had a guy like him here but head off to the crew congrats to the crew um another Trophy and hopefully ladyy can get back there um were you able to watch it all no I I wasn't personally I was it was one of those things where I just it was able to happen completely for me of course like you know the highlights and all that kind of stuff watch it live I say I say all the time never doubt the crew never doubt the crew and no I wouldn't B against them I know people are saying LFC could repeat um or LC could win their second in three years or something like that I think I would to be against the crew repeating I really wouldn't and edar saying it in the chat the grit that the crew have I wouldn't that the Columbus Crew winning Emil cup for a second year in a row yeah I mean there's there's four teams right now and to me it's going to go down to one of those four Columbus being the number one um the other three being Miami of course you just youi can't bet against Miami lafc and the Galaxy and maybe I add a fifth I would say Cincinnati because it's I think I just think a lot yeah I just think since the South since the South picture with their injuries and all that especially to their defense but yeah I mean you hope that Atlanta can get there soon and you know they just have all the pieces in the right places right now where they can compete for trophies and non had a contract extension make a few months ago so he'll be there for a while unless a club overseas went said I don't think he'll make a move again within MLS I think his next move will be overseas um I said you know before know do you make a play though for aadu kwami aadu their assistant their top assistant maybe try to capture some of the magic from Columbus and bring it over to Atlanta I think you can do a lot worse you know the big thing is he's a first he'll be a first- time head coach but you know I think that's gon to be one factor and another factor is you know look what's going on Montreal courtois um Montreal haven't been great let SE so that's a risk it's a risk but I imagine he gets a job at some point whether it's Atlanta or somewhere else um but yeah I think again non's next move is across the pond I really do whether it's France or something else um but I guess kind of going back to coaching while we're talking about coaching I I I it we haven't heard anything I imagine the search fir has been fired I they are um they're venting some names right now they haven't vented some names I'm surprised nothing's leaked nothing's come out I don't know if they're just waiting till the end of the season to give Valentino just the end of the season but still I'm surprised no names have come out as to besides besides Tim who would be a good option or who would be the leading candidate to coach this team I mean nothing nothing's come out it's just unusually quiet and you like to get a guy in here sooner rather than later to start taking a look at the team saying hey this is what needs to happen here's what I need to do but I don't know am I wrong no I mean I think I don't know if it's by virtue of what they do but it seems like when you have a search firm involved the rumors just don't fly like they do otherwise you go back to when Darren eills left and then Atlanta hired the search firm and it was so funny because it was like Darren eels was still finishing up his time here right and G lerway comes over when Seattle does and they're like he he so he's up in in the bins obviously he's going to travel with the team but then he stayed right or I think he stayed like a couple days after for Darren Hill's birthday and they were like it's just because of his birthday yeah and like four months later he's hired so yeah and Omar I see I see what you're saying like they they didn't even hire a search firm um yet yet and that's the thing but I don't think you're gonna hear anything at all like we heard Patrick riera right and that was before the search firm was hired now if they have hired one since then obviously hasn't come out yet um I think it would be insane if they hadn't but when you have a search firm involved I just don't think you hear rumors like you do when it's just you know agents dealing and and because I mean coaches have agents too right it's not just players um yeah so I don't know I mean I would like to hear something pop up sooner than later um Patrick Vier is not a bad shout and I'm not knocking the guy though but I think you can do better can I throw a theory though sure so I love a good theory let's looking the other day um Brian smetzer his contract from what I can tell I could be wrong from what I could tell it ends at the end of the season if it doesn't end I don't like the theory I don't like where it's going I mean at the end of the day you know it's the experienced head coach he knows MLS he has a good working relationship with scarth lagerway already of course uh but I mean you have to look at the players that you know colum or Columbus you the players that Seattle have right now and you're gonna have to probably replicate that in Atlanta which is which is partially why they said you know get them get someone in here so they can get the lay of the land start making their input right now I guess he wouldn't be the worst choice but there are better choices but I mean if you're looking for someone with winning experience in MLS has won numeral numerous trophies is very successful the only thing is like he he's a seatt guy through and through I don't think he'd want to leave but I think with enough money he would enough money he would the only thing is too I'm we saying he's old he's 61 years old so I think he much sooner retire in Seattle retire at home and see himself see his career out uh Pabo masteran is another example that om is saying um I don't know what his contract situation looks like uh I imagine something like three years he um came on board end of 2021 so it's coming up on three seasons where he's been the permanent head coach he's done a terrific job with the to have a Redemption tour after getting fired by Colorado which a lot of people were saying that it was an unjust sacking in Colorado maybe that's adoption what my whole point is maybe their next head coach is coaching right now and out a coach coming up out of contract that is linking for that next challenge and I wouldn't turn my nose up on masteria at all you know I've dealt with him in media setting before uh he's very well spoken he's very honest he's a very refreshing individual um he's bilingual um you know he's a breath of fresh air he's a breath of fresh air and I think Atlantic fans would really appreciate someone of his standing someone as candid as he is a kind of Nob as guy to be the next coach villain United I I wouldn't hate it you could do a lot worse than him yeah I mean I think there's a wish list right and my my wish list it doesn't have any specific items on it but it has maybe specific locations on where I want the product to come from yeah and look I Brian schmezer he's he's successful you're not going to argue that right like factually he's been successful a wouldn't be the worst right Pablo M rany wouldn't be the worst Patrick R wouldn't be the worst there's a lot you can do a lot worse than any of those guys Hugo Perez I see Omar that was the name I was gonna throw out that's that's a valid option that would be one that would get me a little more excited um he knowes American knows American soccer he does freaking Edgar I was I was about to say it Greg berhalter um I think Atlanta fans I don't want to say this I think Atlanta fans have to come have to come to terms with the fact that Greg Balter is very much a real possibility to coach this team um it I mean h I'm not say I agree with it I'm just no no it's no I'm not I'm not he he I think he'll get a job in MLS somewhere he'll get a job in MLS where this Atlanta swe I just the thing is so anyway I say those names Hugo like I said is is the one that stands out to me the most but I I if I wasn't going to be out of town next week um I might start this this entry this article but I'll throw it out there to the chat I'll throw it out there to everybody I think you know because we know kind of what G has mentioned he wants right right MLS experience um that's the main thing I think umus doesn't have but he's American International yeah I mean I think he at least enough knows how much MLS works to agree um but I think I don't want somebody that has just been recycled through MLS I want somebody that is going to bring something totally different to this team and to this league and I mean like something like Tata did back in 2017 Tata absolutely took this league by surprise just playing a different kind of soccer that hadn't been consistent with you know the Bob Bradley and Bruce Arenas of the world that have just moved through the league and that's not to say they're not great coaches but you need somebody that's going to take this team to the next level a different step a different route if if you will not trying to take ideas that do work and then put them into a team because what you're getting in Columbus with wi for NY that's not normal that's not normal he's playing it's not that it's a super elaborate version of soccer it's just everybody is very disciplined and knows their role yeah like to a te it's very like almost like military in the sense that like everybody just is they super disciplined and that's great if you can get 11 plus guys to do that every single week in and out will Fern's done it there's not many coaches in the world that can do what WF for na is doing right now I mean there's maybe five right maybe five um I think going to be much better going after a guy that is going to bring just a different Viewpoint to Atlanta beyond what you normally see in Major League Soccer and yeah so I guess I say all that to say it was a very longwinded way of asking like over the next few days you know people hit us up but like what kind of names knowing that g wants the MLS experience or at least something like that right throw out some other names even if they are um rets well yeah and and even if they're guys that are that are you know in contract with another club I I'll I'll say this though I'll say this still about bur halter kind of to your point he's gonna have so much more resources than he had at Columbus because he'll actually have an owner who gives a crap and like precourt who was trying to get them down to Austin next time amazing Resources with the Men's National Team and yeah I mean but here's the thing though is actually sweet tea I'm drinking so that was the perfect like hermit the frog mem anyway go ahead here here's the thing though toter's credit managing a club versus managing a national team are completely different things yeah you're right completely different things you're not working with the team your country national team and I'm not arguing for bur halter or against bur Halter I'm just giving you kind of the Viewpoint if you're managing a national team you're not working with these players each and every day um you don't have to exposure with them on the training ground whereas if you work with the club you're eating with them you're with them every single day you are with them week in week out like 340 42 weeks a year um with the club you know you just don't get it with a national team and a lot a lot of times or sometimes you don't have have full control over who you call up um so I think that's kind of the case for the case against bur halter is and Edgar saying it in the chat he hasn't woned an MLs I mean he's made playoffs numerous times with Columbus I think he just missed playoffs one year but he can NE never get the team over the hump and I think that's the case against them of course the national team failure is another but but I think that's what you see with him though right it's just average like I agree good enough to win some games but not great enough to get them past the next level yeah and that's the thing like though the national teams and Club teams are definitely different beasts entirely I mean you saw it with Tata between Atlanta and in Mexico like yeah totally different game right but thing with burh halter is he's consistently been average yeah in all of it I mean and I and I know it's kind of wild to sit there and look at his record with the Men's National Team and say that was average because of how many they won but you can't compare it's apples and oranges when you look at what he did in cona versus what he did against the rest of the world yeah he be the teams he should have but never teams that he needed to he needed to yeah I mean you you had a you made it look you did okay in the World Cup and then you shot yourself in the foot in Copa America yeah um he's just never been one to elevate a team you go about to Columbus he just he got to the playoffs but then couldn't do anything in the playoffs who does that sound like yeah exactly I don't want that anymore you know and then you also add in the fact that it just it very much feels like after a while he becomes a friend more than a coach and I just don't I don't think that's what this team needs right I think some of the national team members got too comfortable with him and I don't think putino is going to be that kind of Coach no where he's gonna Co up to he's gonna be like he's known to be a man manager yeah which you know not Greg so yeah I I think anyway that's a different conversation but poach atino I can't tell you how excited I am about him being here man I just wish he was in Atlanta Atlanta not in Atlanta South at the men's training ground so couple couple names throughout ring in the chat Ben pman has just turned around Charleston in a massive way that used to be one the great clubs in the second division F Hard Times part way was Mike andher had been there for years and he just rejuvenated that club has been a winner everywhere he's gone the only thing fans will be a little bit um Saron is that he doesn't have first divid experience but I think something will give him a shot or later and then saying Denny Cruz from Louisville City Louisville long bin with the gold standard it's the gold standard in second division football in the in the United States but again can he translate that to First divis division success so I think the manager that elen United hires will be has a chance to be off the grid something that no not many people are thinking of and know if it is a second division head coach I wouldn't be super surprised to be honest with you but at the same time they have some resources to get somebody massive um within reason of course so it wouldn't surprise me either way but I just hope whoever it is to give a chance to prove what they can do to help this team get back to what it was yeah I mean it it wouldn't surprise me I mean again knowing not that g is adverse to going out with and finding the big name I don't a misconception that's been thrown out but I think maybe he's a little too realist or pragmatic maybe for some people's liking yeah you know and and I get that I get that because you you went from shooting for the stars to not doesn't mean you can't be successful doing it that way I mean clearly GTH has had plenty of success doing it the way he does it but the patience is running thin I'll give you another name though second to division Mark Briggs um from Sacramento but I think if you give the same argument of what you just said in terms of not having the first division experience he's had less right but he's done well what he's had also played at Charleston battery for a while back like 14 years ago but um there are some names out there in in the championship that could be thrown around however however I I just I need this this one to be somebody you shoot big for you're good club hey man make the phone call make the phone call come hang out with pochettino on the weekends you can you can go do whatever you want to do in Atlanta as a old guy with really nice teeth that just wants to chill um I'm sure Atlanta can set you up real nice Jurgen just come on man yeah if you're watching Jurgen plenty to do plenty to do here at Atlanta there's a nice Chris there's a nice German theme Christmas Market here at Atlanta there a nice town like arft fall in love you could live there just like just like home yeah um what else you got I mean I feel like we're kind of running out of time here what else you got before we I mean I think those are the main things um as far as other story lines right now there's not going to be much of media availability ility tomorrow and Thursday um our normal show on Wednesday talking about the Charlotte game and um yeah I don't know I just uh y'all y'all keep throwing some names out there hit us up on on Twitter
