calm down calm down everybody just calm down all right deep breath let it out calm down relax everybody just relax all right I know that was a close one yesterday came down to the last pass five yards but a win is a win all right there's some things Colorado needs to clean up on on you know all faces of the ball as you know anybody can but uh let's talk about the good things first go ahead so as you can see the offense was fairly productive day especially you know through the air 445 yards four touchdowns only the one interception um I would say be more you know consistent with the Run game whether it's worked or not um they ran the ball 59 yards 23 carries a little over two yards a carry so I would just say be more consistent with the ground game even if it's if it's not working even if you only getting you know a couple yards a carry mix it up I would say Dron you know Miller he had a a good couple carries you know to start the game off I don't know why they didn't you know kind to keep going to him Charlie came in and did what Charlie does you know he's a rough and rugged running back I would say he he needs more carries you know I would say between the two if they would you know split the snaps maybe uh 10 10 15 15 somewhere around there but I would say get at least 30 carries between the two you know on a weekly basis and then factor in Hayden you know give him at least another 10 so we talking 40 carries a game at least you know that takes some of the strain some of the pressure off of shador the offense won't be so predictable in terms of you know always dropping back to pass or you know always um you know in the air game so I would just say you know mix it up a little bit run it a little more keep the defense on the heels cuz you know when you pass so much as Colorado did this game and last year um it kind of you know lets it makes it a little easier for defenses to scheme against you know cuz you really just coming up with different Rush packages at that point instead of having to worry about shutting down the run too um we saw what happened last year shador took a lot of hits when they couldn't run the ball so you know this year I would say just please don't repeat that you know run the ball even if it's not working let's let's get at least 40 attempts a game defense so let's talk about the defense the defense looked a little shaky in the first half I got to admit it um it was probably you know just cuz it's the first game everybody's coming back off the new year uh new school year new season you know everybody has uh Kinks that they need to work out knock off the r a little bit um and North Dakota state is a a Powerhouse like in in their division a lot of people see you know the name on the schedule they might not know who that is but Carson Wiston went there uh Tre Lance went there you know it's a a a division uh FCS Powerhouse they're pretty much the Alabama FCS um you know they're a really strong school and you know having that much experience and on the big stage even if it's on the FCS level you know they're still used to the big game and still used to the moment so you know they they they played until they couldn't you know it went down to the last pass that's all you can really ask um they were five yards short um Colorado got enough know to B that down not go for the interception and you know just don't get caught up in trying to make a play and just and just secure the victory You Know Travis Hunter he pretty much said after the game he doesn't really have any individual goals he's trying to win you know they're in a big 12 this year so it's a it's going to be a lot of challenges coming at them especially on that defensive front um you know with that that pass rush so like I said they got to make sure they're running the ball um those big 12 offenses they run a lot um Colorado kind of struggled tonight stopping to run second half was a lot better it was a lot better in terms of um stopping the offense on the first half North Dakota State kind of did what they wanted to do um I would say you know kind of scoring I wouldn't say I will but they were definitely driving the ball pretty much you know running offense the way that they saw fit Colorado did too it was a a nice offensive game but you know need to work on the tweaks on defense stop those big plays let's get it going today you know with this being a buff report we got to evaluate it's time to put some grades on this performance that we just saw last night I would say that you know that offense is probably uh a at worst you know four touchdowns one crazy interception 445 yards passing yards 59 on the ground um Jimmy horn Jr had a career day Travis hunter three touchdown receptions tied the most in school history one crazy catch he caught it behind the defender it was it was wild so um yeah got to get that offensive a defense I would say overall probably a cc minus um that's just probably because you know it started off kind of shaky that first half like I said they gave up a lot of big plays two many points um that first half was probably like a d d performance and then they kind of picked it up with a C+ B minus performance in the second half but you know at the end of the day it came down to one pass you know one pass and five yards football is a game of inches in this case it was a game of six yards 6 yards that's a touchdown 5 and A2 yards is a touchdown so um you know a win is a win did what they were supposed to do and uh we'll see next week what happens with uh Nebraska peace
