Haason Reddick RETURN Reality For Arizona Cardinals As Jets May Be Forced To Trade Pass Rusher?

some bird droppings here phnx Cardinals on the Thursday we have speculated for many weeks maybe even months the availability of jets pass rusher Hassan reik up until this point seemed like a pipe dream now could it be a reality bu Brock Johnny venerable phnx Cardinals Bo Jeremy Fowler of ESPN dropping a nugget in his article this morning New York Jets may have no choice in the coming weeks than to trade their all pro pass rusher yeah this is a stalemate between the two sides you know they trade for reic this off season and they anticipate him kind of taking the role of Bryce huff and they you know there was reports that they had you know discussions about a new contract that's a sticking point and they've reached a point really where I don't think either party can move forward in a mutual parting of ways is broken down here by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN and you know the beneficiary of that could be the Arizona Cardinals you know my main argument Johnny is there's nobody available on the market this happens to be um you know probably the Lan Target that you could immediately add and supplement your your very you know struggling pass rush to say the least so fer in his article did point out that the Jets will not get the same kind of compensation that they gave the Philadelphia Eagles this off season which was a third round pick so that's the conversation to start having fourth round picker later for Hassan R I would do that right now I give up a fourth tomorrow for Hassan reck even 15 games worth of Hassan reck and I also think you get Hassan reck in the building vibing with JG vibing with this team there's no reason why you can't discuss a contract this team has no pass rush to speak of as we outlined every day here on phnx Cardinals this is from Brett Coleman we've outlined it they generated a League War 3.5 pressure rate in week one they were last in the NFL in pressure rate at 12% um and then I think I saw a statistic earlier today they haven't had a true Edge sack since November of last year so you couple all that together and you say okay why why won't this happen if we have to play devil's advocate for a second B Brock my opinion is if the Cardinals aren't winning games by the time the New York Jets say you know what we've had enough we're gonna move him it doesn't make you know sense for this rebuild to be able to pursue him I think you beat the LA Rams this weekend and it becomes a very real possibility that you enter the sweep Stakes but if you lose this weekend nobody's going to want to give up picks for anything until as you've mentioned many times this team starts winning games yeah I mean you have to kind of figure out what the timeline's going to be and you know the the deadline happens to be the November trade deadline right and if that's the Jets you know tactic here if if that's what they want to do their strategy in order to maybe try to maximize what they could get in return and maybe get something close to what they sent Philadelphia for reic you know that that's a little concerning right because as you mentioned Johnny the SOS has been sent out the Cardinals need pass rush help and you know does reic is is it too late if you if you start to get into negotiations by then so many different variables go into this to make it you know fit as it stands right now if if you can like the value you outlined and then also you've got to figure out you know reic in his representation what they want like are they still going to dig in no matter who the team is that reic goes to on signing of an extension that still becomes an issue here it still becomes a problem are you willing to to lock up pan reic Beyond 2024 to a very lucrative deal upwards of you know 2526 million a season for a 29y old pass rusher but if you can take you know a 29y old uh pass rush that's been very productive especially in Jonathan ganon's system and get him with the understanding of hey we're going to get you ready to go cash in this next off season and also JG is signed off on that then that that's like in a that's a perfect scenario for me but there are a lot of different variables that go into this to continue to make maybe make this a perfect match for the Cardinals I also think unless you have a familiarity with Hassan reik like the Cardinals do like Ganon does like Nick RIS does kazir white what what team is going to welcome this into their contending locker room right that are just going to say we're going to trade for San re we don't know anything about him like I see a lot of people like pivoting with the Chicago Bears for instance there's no ties to him with anybody in Chicago so they're just going to trade for a player it's not just like making a trade for a player at the deadline every year that's excelling for a bad team right like montz sweat last year he was playing games he was in an NFL locker room he had completed training camp preseason you had seen him every week on NFL Sundays no one has seen Hassan reick since his introductory press conference outside of a couple you know charity options in Philadelphia New York or whatever so you're trading for him if you're a GM with the idea of this is a huge gamble because we don't know what he looks like we could become the Jets 2.0 in my opinion the only franchise that has a mulligan with that is the head coach and of the Arizona Cardinals Jonathan Ganon to be able to say I know Hassan he's selled with me I trust him as a person as a player we've talked to his agent before this is the franchise that drafted him we know his character like what what franchises has he played for Carolina they're not trading for him they're a disaster Philadelphia is not trading back for him the Eagles aren't gonna or the Jets aren't going to do that the Cardinals to me are the only option right now that makes sense because of course the familiarity but the need is so massive and at some point just like we talked about with the quarterback position on this team last year you can have a flaw as a team and work around it but when it becomes as magnified and embarrassing and and non like existent as the QB situation was last year with Colt McCoy they had trade for dos I believe we've reached that point with pass rusher for the Cardinals and if they can't pressure Matthew Stafford this weekend with that offensive line they're about to trot out it it is Def conon One for this franchise to go out and get Hassan reck in my opinion yeah you know what like you can get me I'm board with this I it doesn't change you know my stance or my viewpoint of where the team is organizationally you're two of a rebuild but this this helps uh really underman group immediately right it this is just kind of um the clouds parting and showing you like hey here's your chance to to immediately get better here in the short term and potentially down the road while you wait to draft and develop some guys well not having to part ways with with a ton of draft Capital what the Cardinals also need to become is an organization that it's culture stands you know on its own right where you've got players like this and you've got several teams within your division that are already like that right in San Francisco and most definitely the Los Angeles Rams how many times have we seen the Rams take on you know players that have been jet seted from Bad situations and then they go into that that under McVey and flourish you know you got to hope that Jonathan Ganon and Monty ort are building that type of infrastructure yeah I we go back to the timeline of this rebuild but then also weighing the timeline of being ready to compete for your fans and being able to be viable I I think with what we've seen from this offense even in a short amount of time as the advance metrics come out after week one offense is gonna be fine the defense right now is so starved for even above average to average level defensive line play and you're going to get Darius Robinson back hopefully within the next month he's coming back we assume in October but the edge The Edge presence is what it is and I I think about what an addition like this would do for a guy like zavin Collins who would not need to be the guy on NFL Sundays what it would do for your defensive lineman your D tackles who did not have a great game one there is nobody right now respectfully that commands the respect of an opposing offense where you have to say we got to look out for that guy offensively have a couple guys like that McBride we we we assume Marvin's going to get there James Conor of course K1 Michael Wilson Greg dorch there's nobody defensively like that you have to have in today's NFL at least one guy even the bad teams like the Giants have one or two guys like that so I think again if you're Monty Austin Ford does this make you uncomfortable to do absolutely but I think there's going to be a greater sense of urgency if this team continues to no-show let's put the win loss aside if you know show as a pass rush group again after last year there has to be a sense of urgency from your GM to get something done yeah no doubt about it and you know it reminds me like of a bullpen in baseball like if you've just got a couple average relievers and you've got somebody in the closer spot that he might be your best guy but if you bring in a shutdown you know closer it just changes everything and puts people in better positions for Success like your Z Collins point and and get Xavier Thomas in there and Dennis gard and they become complimentary pieces instead of the piece reck's the guy it just puts everybody in a better position for success and uh you know no longer is the threat of riic coming in in blocking young players from developing BJ oari is out for the season regardless of what happens you're not going to take snaps away from him the only real true young pass rusher that needs to get snaps and will just by necessity is Xavier Thomas who played close to 30% of the snaps in that rotation he'll stay in that rotation and you just hope to see you know better results than you saw in week one subscribe to the
