Stanford QB Ashton Daniels loves how the team looks entering TCU

all right Ben Parker of cardinal Sports support.com here with Stanford quarterback Ashton Daniels so first of all just generally fall Camp how's it been going for you yeah it's been going great you know last day was today um I think we made a lot of strides you know both as an offense and defense um you know build a lot of confidence in each other um more consistent than ever um so I'm just excited to you know finally get to go out there and and hit some other people yeah to just kind of talk about um you know uh what have you seen from the the receivers who's been kind of standing out from that group yeah um they've all been they've all been standing out they've all been doing a great job of course ell um then Jackson Harrison is have been doing a great job Moody Ruben um Bryce Pharaoh everyone's everyone's you know come out there and do their part um you know we we built a great relationship because during the offseason you know we were every Saturday um and then we also had our OTAs we were out here on the field working um you know and we built that chemistry that that we need you know between our our two position groups so um confident as ever in those guys and and I'm ready to to go out there and Dish all to them yeah also just talk about what have you seen from you know true freshman Elijah Brown what has you brought to the room yeah yeah um I love Elijah he's he's as funny as can be um you know he he has a unique Spirit um he's quiet but but you know when he's when we get him to open up he's around you know the QBs um you know he's an awesome guy you can tell he wants to learn he's out there asking us questions every every single day um and and obviously you know people have seen what he can do out on the field so I'm excited for his future yeah and just talk about too just um from a from a quarterback perspective what are maybe the most challenging aspects of learning this offense and just kind of what areas of gr have you seen from yourself in that area yeah um for myself I think you know just becoming confident in in everything that we do has been you know a big area of growth for me um confidence and consistency I would say um you know we we have a a pretty complex offense so being able to learn it all know your reads um know where everybody's supposed to be um you know and then on top of that going out there and executing you know it's difficult to do at the college level but um you know coach Taylor has made that extremely easy for extremely easy for us um as well as um coach Merkel Thomas Merkel they've both done a great job with us um you know kind of taking us in under their we under their wing and and showing us the path um and you know I think we we've grown as a as a quarterback group um as a whole yeah also too just talk about relation with Justin Lamson how's that relationship kind of grown over the last year with him yeah um I would say let's see to be honest I I think the whole quarterback room um you know is as close as will ever be I tell them all the time that I think we have the closest quarterback room in the country um you know we're always cracking jokes always hanging out um always laughing you know Justin came in last year as a transfer um he's opened up to us same with Elijah Brown came in you know of course they're a little nervous when they first get here but um you know they both opened up to us um and we've taken them uh in under under our wings um shown them the path and you know we we've had a great time um both during spring ball and and fall ball tight end group how's that unit looking in particular the young guys benjam and Blacker and Aiden Black obviously Sam rash is is playing well but just how is that unit looking from your perspective yeah they're they're looking great um they're physical um they're they're catching balls you know hard hard catches too um Sam's out there making plays been he's got great hands um Aiden is super super fast so um yeah I'm excited to to see their growth and see what they can do in the rest of their careers yeah and you know also just kind of General what's kind of the overall kind of vibe of the team you know with TCU just on the horizon now what's the kind of mood with football season so close yeah I mean obviously obviously the the end of fall Camp starts to get a little chippy because you know you're hitting your guys for almost three weeks straight um you know so so we're out there competing every single day we're battling but you know that that's what makes a great team is that high level of competition so um you know fall Camp's finally over everyone kind of has a sigh relief and we're ready to get to TCU we're ready to finally hit some other opponents what are your thoughts on the running back room and what have you seen from those guys particular the new guys I'm hearing good things about Davis Ford tab all those guys yeah um they've been doing a great job you know coming in and and learning this offense as a running back is is pretty hard um you know but but they've done an outstanding job um coming in you know learning all the pass protections learning you know the routes um their reads on certain run plays and stuff so um they've done an outstanding job and I'm excited to see them play this year just kind of in general what's your kind of thoughts on the ACC move I me I've asked before but just kind of how excited are you to be to uh be in that conference and looking at some of those road trips you got ahe of you yeah I'm extremely excited obviously you know I'm from the East Coast so um you know going back on on that side of the country to play some games um I have some more family and friends that can come out and see me but um you know it's going to be a new challenge for us um facing new opponents who are really really good um you know in at their house you know Clemson obviously has a crazy College atmosphere their stadium is insane um you know Syracuse NC State so um yeah those are all going to be a great great challenges for us but you know that's something that you know we're all looking forward to um and we're excited to go out there and play them you guys seems like there's a real potential for you guys to be a really good deep vertical threat team with ell and and frell and all these and bachar just talk about what kind of a weapon that could be for you you got a good arm just talk about the vertical threats that you guys can pose as an offense yeah I mean all those guys can run um you know I would be scared um if they left our guys one-on-one because you know they're they're all super fast um they're all going to go up and get a deep ball they've got great route running ability so um you know that that'll you know hopefully be big for us at some points in the year um so I'm excited to see that two more questions before I let you go uh just uh talk about kind of the relationship with the offensive line particularly Levi Rogers under Center just talk about your relationship you have with him yeah yeah um Levi and I have you know grown a lot um together um you know we we both kind of came in last year with not too much experience um we learned off one another um you know it's kind of my wingman because you know he's the one that's feeding me the ball every single play so um you know we we've grown extremely close um I'm extremely confident in him um you know he's a great leader of that o line um you know and I'm I'm constantly in his ear every day you know trying to get him to to keep pushing the o line um you know we got a lot of young guys in that room so um I think he's done a pretty good job of you know taking him under his wing um and and yeah I'm excited to see him him ball out this year final question before kind of fun get somebody question uh do you what's your favorite kind maybe I've asked this before what's your favorite kind of music what's your kind of go-to music to listen to just in general yeah yeah um rap music um I'm a big let's see I have a couple because I'm from Atlanta um Gunner is from Atlanta little baby future uh 21 Savage all those guys are are pretty good rappers um all from the Atlanta area so you know I kind of grew up listening to them so yeah perfect thanks so much Austin for taking the time and uh good luck rest of this uh guess kind of pre-season period
