did a nice job of creating some stress with tips and roll shots and different things uh and we didn't handle it very well and uh we just we kind of lost our minds there for a while made a ton of errors and um but they bounced back in game four and I thought probably um TCU got worn down and um so that that was nice to see that and we won um close game two and it was disappointing to lose game three I thought we had plenty of chances to win that and really didn't take take advantage of it or we weren't the aggressors so hopefully we're going to learn from that but good news is I mean we didn't get Ace tonight I think par had seven Aces last night and let see Rodriguez deserves extra meal money tonight for we put her in the middle of the court to pass her and she did a fantastic job she proved why she's the best labero in the country and you know handled handled that serve really really well and I know every says we're not a good serving team but we had nine Aces so those are the highlights how how important was serving I mean you got to out hit both a second and third sets how important was the serving game to keep you close and have a chance of those two well I think uh uh you know we scored some points there you know what what hurt us was I mean there's 19 errors in games two and three I mean you're not going to be you're going to have a really hard time winning taken that many years and that's very uncharacteristic for us so I don't know I don't know what the deal was tonight but um you know it's our third match in how many days so I don't know if that's it it was a long day sitting around um waiting to play tonight but um that's very uncharacteristic for us and uh so we got to learn from that but serving in our defense I mean we we still did some nice jobs I did some nice things and slowing them down but uh it was just we couldn't convert and that's where we were making errors so we were kind of giving them points I mean you look at the kills they had 40 we had 55 we all killed them by 15 I mean that should be a blowout but it's kind of like a football team you know you make a great great drive and then you have a bunch of penalties that's kind of what we did we would get great opportunities and make errors and just give them points cuz we passed pretty good tonight did anything impress you about parro she's just a really good volleyball player I mean I uh she's a great be a great one to study I mean she's not that physically impressive but she's got a great serve we we stopped we started serving her and she was just diing balls so we went away from her then we came back to her at the end there and um but she just hits every shot she just sees everything she she knows Andy does this blocking and she just abused Andy's left hand tonight I mean that's that takes a lot of skill I mean she was doing it on purpose like there's Andy you saw all those balls I just went off her left hand down the net I mean we can't dig those but she just really good and then she tips right over the block and we adjusted have L Laney there all three rotations and we still couldn't get it because everybody else was trying to get it in justad instead of letting Lany get it how would you describe Harper's impact tonight the Harper uh came alive tonight and um she still got some work to do but I was really impressed with her passing tonight she's been working really hard on that she she was solid and uh she um got some big kills and we needed them and started moving around and we were having a hard time filling the ball why you mean Laney served the first two sets for her but then haror served a third why did you want to have haror get some service cuz Lany went in for she was in a different spot yeah what you learn this week that you can only learn once you start playing matches and get everybody on the same side of the net yeah I got I got we got we got to get a lot better we're doing some good things but man just attacking we're we're making some really dumb choices so we've got a we got we did a great drill the day before we played uh Corpus Christie that I really liked it's a new drill we we came up with to teach them how where to hit and how to hit better and um so we got to continue to do that drill just get them to understand how to get kills and how to be smart and not snap it in the block and so got work to do but usually in this time of year early I mean you got to win some ugly games and I would say tonight at times was was was ugly for us any other questions how are how are you feeling about your use of DS's when who's playing in the back row what what hitters are playing in the back row well that's that's the system we kind of created is who who's if somebody's hot we go with it so tonight we started with Merritt and we went with Harper hitting out of the back row and she did a really nice job of managing the hitting out of the back row um and we we got it where we can you know have Lindsay go back there or Taylor go back there and play all the way around so that's kind of what we're working on right now but the question is who helps us more one of those guys in the back row and that's that's the question so we always want to have one hitter back there and um uh you we'll just see who's hot we can adjust that's like we did tonight you mentioned a physical exhaustion from playing three matches in five days you do the same thing next week starting with a road match then home Thursday home Saturday how did you learn anything from this week that kind of help get through next week no we just got to survive and and um you know they got tomorrow off which will be nice and then we train down there Monday and then play Tuesday night so um then we then we the hard part we come we get back late and then we got to play on Thursday so it's going to be a good mental challenge for them but again that's why we maybe got got maybe I got to play some more players because we got people
