what up T-Bob here and Jake as well and look at you you done stumbled upon little OTB Saints where we bring you all the latest black and gold coverage who are the Saints going to draft who's going to be their quarterback what does the salary cap look like all that information and more hope you're enjoy it like subscribe New Orleans Saints back in Action last night and it was a bit of a slow start for the offense but the ones did go out on a high note as they put together one of the more ridiculous drives you will ever see uh I don't know Jake I think maybe the only time I've been a part of the drive this long may have actually been that Infamous ten Tennessee Drive 16 plays 95 yards took 8 minutes and 17 seconds off the clock and most importantly uh because last year if you remember with his offense they were great between the 30s yeah and then they would die out in the red zone most importantly found a way to make a big third down conversion and a big fourth and goal conversion to finish in the endzone and ultimately establish what was a pretty good day for the ones because that drive is Stellar I mean that is a perfect drive that is that is an erotic drive when you're talking about offensive football with some moments that I want to highlight but what were your kind of overall thoughts of the ones on offense last night uh that drive was very needed because before then it was three plays three play place and it's like oh my gosh again it's like it's going to be the same thing that it was just a week ago and so it was very needed but the things that stood out to me you had Jamal Williams kind of find the Fountain of Youth on that drive yeah and then you saw Jordan Mims come in as well I did love the the mix of play action the mix of the Run game downhill and then you threw the ball in third down and you were efficient now the yards per attempt was still like I think at five yeah but that was a drive that the Saints needed because they had not been running the ball well it's been some time since they've been running the ball well so to see them go downhill and it was like it was methodical but it's still it was very efficient and after going three and out your first two drives after how you played last week it at least gives you some hope that they can go take the ball 95 yards because they did it in a way that they haven't been able to do really over the last couple of years running the football setting up the play action short intermediate passes and you know just being efficient it was kind of everything that we've been wanting to see out of kubak only still um W kind of with training wheels on I mean Derek Carr was adamant on his sideline interview that like look this is still like the most basic stuff that we have in but already you see the basic building blocks which should be in every offense that for whatever reason weren't in the Saints offense for the last couple years paying dividends like I think about Jake uh when they're in the red zone and it's what third and three third and four and it's very simple this is not I don't want to like make too much of this because this is simple but this this is something the Saints did not do a lot of last year uh they they fake a Jet Sweep to a Lobby and they run off tackle to the weak side you know just just that just very easy not like anything special but that that Jet Sweep to a l gets all the action going one way and they're able to come up with a big conversion keep the drive going they eventually score um you mentioned the first two drives uh Car checking down on the first third down doesn't get it bad throw in the second third down doesn't get it last third down five a complet should have set up fourth and five and then delivered a nice strike to b means Under Pressure to convert and that would eventually end in the touchdown um I thought Tamm Hill really shy on this drive and you're starting to get an idea of the role that he's going to play Jake yeah as he looked like I mean yeah he looks like that used trick role right I mean they got him out here at lead blocking they got him at tailback at times they lined him up at receiver um and the blocking still hit or miss like he had that great ISO lead I can't remember what exactly was but that great one-on-one with the linebacker but then I think it was like a couple later he was on a combo block he got two involved with his outside hand guy ends up shooting the B gap for a tfl it's probably one of those things T that you and I we did it for so long in combo blocks like we know hey if you put that extra hand in there too long you're going to get got but think about this is new to him so like yeah in his mind look he he was a quarterback at BYU he was an All-American type quarterback at BYU when he was healthy then he comes to the NFL and he does a lot of different things but they weren't lead blocking no and so now like he's in his 30s and this is all new to him and I remember when I was moving to fullback from tail back I was like all right crush the guy as hard as you can and that's your responsibility when in fact it's not like a combo Block it's like you give him over to the other guy you keep your hand free and then you go to your responsibility you need to keep your you know you never want to get that outside shoulder turned in like J talking to say Square to the line you help the guy out with your inside and then you're able to just kind of immediately move at like a lateral or three4 an angle whatever you need to do to get your head in front of him but uh so learning process but Tamm Hill might be the most exciting part of this offense when it's all said and done I mean he's the one that spurred a lot of that rushing attack like you said it feels like the running attack uh should be much better I thought Trevor Penning played better I still want to go watch the film more closely I still don't love his form yeah but it was more effective he had a couple really nice run blocks the the the hill ISO especially he had a great strong inside hand just boom like that we've kind of been looking for um and the last part of that great drive that I would highlight I love what they did coming out of the review again very simple stuff but a level of confidence that maybe hasn't been there an attention to detail where uh the refs are reviewing it and the Saints are immediately ready coming out of their view they're lined up the ball they quick snap into the fullback touch that right like immed like like it it's there's a decisiveness that um that's been missing and that's a credit to CL kubak I thought I thought it was very well uh I did as well and I thought that you know Trevor Finning was better but I thought Lucas Patrick was much better yeah than he was in week number one I I think that's a veteran player new team and he was the guy that we're kind of talking about like okay who do you turn to if these guys struggle just get somebody that's solid and somebody that's not going to have this high ceiling but they're not going to just be a point where you feel like gosh they're a liability to us and then we can't even put him out there like I thought he was solid in this game compared to week one he really struggled Eric McCoy was awesome again yeah Eric McCoy is without a doubt the best offensive lineman on this team is not even really close and then as I mentioned Jamal Williams showing me okay he still got something left in the tank I mean that drive think about how many big plays he had on that drive as well I mean taes did uh bub means it was good to see him I mean huge fourth down conversion but overall I think Lucas Patrick might have been the most exciting thing for me just because he gives you an option that can solidify that left guard spot because I thought Caesar was better I thought Trevor was better still not great I uh I need to go back and watch Udo and how he did um it it seemed like it felt good and that I didn't really notice him so because of course T Fang not not playing so that's something that uh got to review the the film on and um uh who who's the who's the rookie running back why am I blanking about Jordan Mason Tipton wait that's a receiver receiver no not yeah Mims I thought Mims ran the ball as you're seeing why he has climbed the depth chart as well I really want to see Alvin C in this rushing attack man I hope the Saints and him I don't know if it's injury contract whatever hope they get it figured out so he get back in here wow just amazing black and gold takes right there Jake I don't think I've ever heard any takes that are better than the two guys that just gave you that take and you can keep getting them by going ahead and liking subscribing ringing the
