New Mexico State Aggies College Football 25 Dynasty Y1G2 v Liberty - Ep.3

we're back once again with the New Mexico State agies here as we take on our first conference game here against Liberty at home after failing our first game against Buffalo we now take on Liberty our first game in Conference USA this season and in the gar smid era and we are going to get underway right now as he going to kick it into the end zone no touch back here they take it out and he gets it to about the 22 yd line so Liberty now have probably some of the best talent in a quarterback and running back whe SE All Season there's for six yards Kaden Salter of course the quarterback of Liberty now we're going to hand it off to kolie again that's going to be a first down here on the Run you'd expect a heavy running game here from Liberty with kie in the back field but that doesn't mean that Salter can throw it he just sling it there for a first down on a very good drive to start the game this time he goes off left tackle and that's a first down again absolutely charging here in their first drive coie again that's Martinez is on the stop that's five yards for kie we're going to hand it off to him again he's going to get a lot of the work here today and that's going to be the first touchdown Liberty go up one touchdown on the first drive first time we see the New Mexico State offense it's Watkins on the on the go first and he'll get another go so now it's third and two and they're going to give it to the fullback they did this a lot Gans is going to get there that's a first down now we're on second and 11 and it's a direct snap K Watkins decent amount of room but closes quickly now it's third and eight probably going to have to throw it here Hogan's first throw of the game and it's on target but they're short a yard but they're going to bring it out on fourth and one and they're going to give it to hands again and once again he's going to get the first down nice little drive going for us here as well as we get four yards on the rush Watkins now uh on the right of the Hogan nice RPO and that's fourth and two and again we're going to bring out the offense Gans charges forward this time they say they're short it's very close nothing really there that you can see that would possibly overturn that play but garage did throw the challenge flag so now they're seeing if the spot of the ball was incorrect I don't think there's much you can see in this uh just mosh pit of players that's going to overturn that decision and it's Opel so it's going to turn the ball over Salter and Liberty Flames are going to come back out here second and eight and the ball off this is what they're going to do pretty much all day especially with how well kolia started that's another big gain on the ground this time it's a throw and it's broken up here on first down good play by glinton there and now back to the ground but that's a good open field tackle that was session on the tackle as now this is the first third down for Liberty today he's going to throw it and Clinton's going to jump the pass and he's got nothing book Green in front of him down the numbers outside them now to the 10 five and it's a touchdown and the New Mexico State defense gets us right back in this game keante glinton alter not thrown the ball much today but uh not a great throw there that's three yards for for coie did get the interception that's his the first turn turnover of the game and they're going to keep it on the ground for a bit bounces it to the outside eventually gets some room and gets the first down can't seem to stop here early not surprising given how good this line is how good coie is Salter there and he keeps it in the back field gets absolutely crushed that's a four yd loss now what can to do on second and 14 he's rushed to the to his ryen it's going to turn the ball over on a fumble Martinez picks it up that's Buddha PTI on the the rush and he's the man who gets him to fumble and Martinez picks it up two bang bang plays by the New Mexico State Defense it's actually Martinez that actually rushes Salter he feels the rush he goes to his right neck puts him straight into v p for the turnover nothing there on the first two downs now it's third and 10 and but and Hogan's going to try and throw that but there's nothing there and they're going to have to settle for the field goal it's up and it's wide left so uh an opportunity left behind them to take the lead here back to the Liberty offense some motion Salter gets it out and CO's got got some room close to the marker they're not going to say he got it so now it's third and Ines motion again everyone in the field probably knows they're running they are but that's a great play and that was number 58 case Edwards on the tackle back to the offense here and there's Watkins second and five now L of One on Second down brings up third down and that's Watkins he's get the catch and that's going to give them a first down here on third down third and medium got into good positions on third down so far today but here is Watkins nice little cut there up field now that's second and three hand it to ganzer opened up there for him and he's got a good yardage there and the first down we now we're going to give it to Washington for his first runs of the game that's six yards on first down some Ables there's play action out here to the left inside Weber is wide open and he'll get the first down second and 13 he gives it the F can he get outside yes he can he's got some room can he get to the end zone not quite first and goal to the seven directing traffic here Hogan as we have stormed forward here Watkins juking in and out there trying get to get some room now it's second and goal Hogan hands the ball off Watkins gets down to the one third and goal can we get in run that football and in we go we take the lead just before half probably enough time for Liberty to try and get get Rush down the field and get something 1 minute and 10 I would suspect that they're going to try and get something there's more than enough time and second and 10 they're going to start throwing it alter throw good catch that's a first down and a timeout another first down just under a minute to go soter takes a snap it's another throw comeback route gets to the side side line time Stops Another first down Salter throws over the middle big gain he's inside of 25 45 seconds here left to go Liberty there Suter throws breaks it tackle and gets into the end zone that's Mo and Liberty are going to level this game right before the half and that's going to bring us to the half 14 all here today in a pretty good game defensively we've been a lot better um in terms of creating turnovers but they did go right down the field there right before a half ripped us apart come in at half level s of the second half and McMillan gets six yards so now it's going to be third and medium a manageable third down to do here Hogan takes the snap he throws it that's going to be G that's going to be first down now McMillan in the back field he's going to take a uh a carry and that's five yards McMillan still in the backfield there and it's Stevens here he's going to be the man that gets it but there's a flag down and that's going to be holding on New Mexico state that's coming back second and 15 Watkins not been in in a while McMillan and Gans the back it's McMillan who takes it now they're going to throw on Third and long and it's intercepted a throw late but it's fumbled and they pick it back up so Liberty get the turnover and keep it after they fumble Liberty now on the field and their offense that's nine yards on first down from a Salter throw I expected more from Salter but he did right before the half he's kind of sprung to life here that's another first down from Salter kie is really where we've struggled to stop him and that's a short gain on second down so now he's got third along one of their more difficult situations they've had to face here he's rushed to his right again this time he does get outside the pocket throws it but that man's out of bounds and they're going to have to take the kick he's after hitting him that's a penalty and it's going to give a free first down here to Liberty after doing so well to get them off the field Hatfield rushed in so now they're on the 16 they're going to run the football coie goes past session like he wasn't even there eventually tackle is made inside the five penalty might have cost us but there's a sack that's petti there again this time he was unlocked so now second and goal can we stop them FES the hand off breaks attacker Salters in and that's a touchdown we give up a penalty and we could have gotten him off the field and now they take a touchdown lead when it could have only been three points we want to keep up with Liberty we're going to have to try and get another touchdown that's a run there for four yards haven't seen Watkins for a while he's might be suffering from a bit of wear and tear here like Millan gets to carry again on the hurry up and that's only a yard there on second down going to have to throw it here on third down and well open his G he's going to get the first down there now first and 10 and there's a throw that's Stevens gets the catch that six yards Steven's not really been that busy in the passing game today was one of his more favorite Targets in the first game is that one only went one yard we're going to have to punt it away so now Liberty with just another two minutes left in the SEC third quarter uh might be able to get a two-score lead here as kie has rushed a long long way into the 25 yd line and now they're in field goal territory already getting up for points alter throws breaks a tackle his tight end number 15 that is harshaw and he's going to get them inside the 10 he's going to hand it to to kie but that's a good stop there that's Cox On The Rush going to give it the kie again good cut Martinez gets him right before he gets into the end zone ends it off can we stop it Martinez is there again and we're actually going to stop them and they're going to take the field goal well it is a two possession game they did fly down the field but that time we get sacked third and 21 now we've got a long way to go we might be off the field sooner rather than later and he just gets that one gets that that one away we're going to have to punt it there is defense have stepped up in the second half and ours has kind of stepped down we were dealing with that's a a fumble and we're actually going to pick that up that session with the recovery just as I said that our defense after making problems for Liberty in the first half the second half weren't as good T glinton says hold on Coach I'm going to make a play and he does comes down already got an interception and then he lights up Salter for his fumble and we turn the ball over again that's our third takeaway of the day here Millan taking up the load now as Watkins is struggling with some wear and tear second and three Hogan takes the snap with 4 seconds left plenty of men open here on that right hash and now we have second and 10 changing the play at the line here Hogan now it's a run McMillan got some room got the first down and more McMillan brings us inside the 20 and Hogan gives it to Gans and he's going to get seven yards third and three Hogan throws it gives it the F on the jet pass and he gets in there touchdown New Mexico state and now it's only three points in the difference 2420 and this is a very competitive game in a game that I thought that we were going to be outmatched quick throw there from Salter but dropped now it's second and 10 and he gets into the second level and gets a first down they actually went away from the run the rush in the the second um half here but now they seem to be back to it coie getting once again another run into the second level and that's going to be another first down fakes the flip Salter oh gets lit up again that time that's Kendricks but no fumble this time RPO maybe gets broken up by Clint glinton now it's third and three Salter and that's going to to be a touchdown Mo gets there Cox was supposed to be covering him but Moy gets number two of the game that's his second touchdown of the game back to that 10-point game Watkins back in the game nice spin move and now it's second and three see the wear and tear of Watkins there man is hurt so we've got McMillan back in the game as he gets lit up third and one we get there and we're going to get the first down Hogan going to throw it and that's a decent throw now third and four run the ball with mcmillon he's got space that's into the second level now we're going to go on the hurry up here we've got 1 minute 35 seconds and we're two possessions down Hogan throws intercepted little bit of deja vu here and there it is that will end the game much like I said earlier little bit of deja vu kind of driving trying to get back into the game but thrown away by Hogan coie was the player of the game just left up way too many yards to him and Salter although didn't you know destroy us by any search of the imagination he did more than enough to compliment coie to get this team to win um for the most part I thought we did all right defensively it's just we gave up tons and tons of yards and they were able to get big plays at times but I thought our defense made some good plays du Hogan really didn't have a great game and running the ball we were a bit hit and miss Watkins got wearing got hurt and wearing tear early um I'd have ran the ball with him a lot but I would have liked him have at least have you know be able to stay around for a bit longer in this game PTI and glinton had great games throughout this entire game they they were really good for start to finish and [Music] um they just they they gave us a chance in the game that I didn't think we had any because honestly I thought that we were going to lose heavily in this game and in the end we did but I thought we we we did we kept with them for a long time keante Clinton got the player conference player of the week which isn't surprising to anyone but we do go to the UTSA road runners in the next game and this is kind of a little bit like the Liberty game we're definitely outmatched they definitely have a better team than us their offensive defensive line are better um their front seven on the on the defensive side I I'm I can see us having some problems I can see us taking advantage of their their secondary it's not fantastic but nonetheless it's still going to be a tough game and I I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised if we got blown out in that one but that's all we have time for guys I hope you enjoyed this episode as we go on and2 in the season but two tough games said
