what's the crack Lads welcome back to the New Mexico State Dynasty here on college football 25 I'm DFG and today we have traveled to Texas to take on UTSA a team that's in the American Conference and probably won that next step in the uh college football ranks in terms of conference Prestige New Mexico State could be a team that could go to the American so we put this on this we see how we get on against a team who's in a conference that we could enter in the future we start the game and it starts off with a run it's not a very good one a very short run to begin this game now it's on the r and we get it out to Stevens that's a decent yardage there for now a third and medium and there's the first down caught over the middle and now we're back to running the ball McMillan takes over gets a few yards on first down split backs now Hogan throws It Wide Open McMillan turns up field and battles for more yardage he gets a first down and on the Full House pistol gives it to Watkins he gets four now we've got motion and we give it to fle on on the jet pass and that's a first down that's three first downs on the opening drive here now after a penalty we're first and 15 gives it to Watkins he's got some room gets the yardage back so now it's second and 10 that failure on second down now makes it third and 10 so what we going to do here Watkins to his right Hogan takes the snap throws over the middle that's going to be locked but now he's got a chance at the field goal right hash and we're going to kick it that's a field goal here on our first possession if we take the lead UTSA have had a quick climb up the conferences since they've came in former uh team in the Conference USA of course UTSA they get nine yards on first down and they're on the hurry up but now they're in the American and they're a very good team of course a quarterback as he is making adjustments and he fakes the p uh the run there and some pressure forces him to bail out and that's a stop on second down so now it's third and one they're going to run the ball and that is Henry on the run and that's the first down for UTSA and they're on the hurry up once again it's a good way to see where we are in terms of um these teams who are in higher conferences than us and uh maybe a conference we might want to join in the future as we stop uh Henry there on first down he only gets two yards as once again UTS hurry back to the line um they are probably a team that many would consider to have better Talent than us on paper that time it's a uh J we pass that's McCoy as uh we stop it now it's third in medium we've gone off to a pretty good start here uh giving them putting them into thir down situations but they've converted the first one and going to convert the second one here that's muan there across the middle number 14 and that's open again for another pass that was McCoy again and now we're back on the hurry up here second and five for UTSA they got off to a good drive we did too with both teams getting off to a getting a good first drive here that's second and five that throw is to pretty much no one and now it's third and five another third down here for UTSA we're getting them into tough positions we just not they seem to be converting in in those tough situations but that time they didn't they're going to take the field goal failure on first down on the hurry up now we get a run that's second and 10 and we get a first down that's Watkins as we're back on offense and now it's an RPO back to McMillan he takes it up another good run here gets another first down been running the ball pretty well here early on Al that time he gets stopped in it's the second player that comes and breaks down that tackle second and 14 gives him gives it the foul F then gets three yards now third down along going to be a difficult conversion here for this New Mexico State off not known for throwing the ball that all that much though we probably should do more of it but that's a pretty pathetic attempt in third down second and 10 now and that one is a screen to Henry and he's going to get first down yardage and we're back to the uh no huddle offense here for UTSA that time Henry's going out slot right they've got movement and they're going to Jet Sweep pass it here that's mcoy once again five yards pretty decent start here for both teams defensively but now UTSA seems to be getting into a rhythm on offense and the no the no huddle shouting orders he hands it off second and five breaks a arm tackle here henrian gets into the second level and now he's on the 41 yd line first and 10 for UTSA maau takes the snap RPO gets it out quickly that's eight yards and maau is actually done pretty well in identifying what he can do against this defense they stopped them in their first drive but now they're coming back here again good tackle but it's enough for a first down good rout run there I think that was McCoy again and they're back to the line quickly again UTSA found something they can exploit on this formation as that time Clark goes untouched into the end zone and maau gets it out quick it's worked for them all day and they get the first touchdown of the game and a touchdown lead back to New Mexico State as we get a throw out to Johnson little Juke inside and he gets a first down now we're in the hurry up so Hogan barking instructions here takes the snap and that's a sack second 21 now here for UTSA and Hogan gets it out quickly this time to McMillan in the flats and he breaks a tackle and gets another few yards there third and 11 not so much in preferable situations here he does get that ball away and it does make it to Watkins and Watkins will get the first down so that's a pretty good uh conversion there by New Mexico State second and nine some motion and they're going to run it with mcmillon he's got a hole there on the left hand side he's going to take it for seven yards and they're going to try and get through but nowhere to go and now we're fourth and three we're coming right back out here fourth three on their side of the field 44 they give it to McMillan and they're going to give it to him they give him a favorable spot and we get to keep our offense out there pressure is turn to get there now that's a 2 yard uh run there as Hogan is trying to get in the ball out quickly because there has been a little bit of pressure especially in this drive that one gets him down to Third and one and he's going to sneak it Forward fake and he's hit second sack of the day for UTSA now it's second and 18 it's a failure on second down and once again Hogan is hit by an unblocked Defender and that's three sacks on that drive alone second and nine now for UTSA as he fakes the Jet Sweep pass throws it down the seam and has wide open now give them the first down UTSA have been operating very well here as they triy to go deep and it's hit away there so that's deflected away now second and 10 with defensive play by New Mexico state but UTSA going to come straight back that's a flag what are we looking at here oh that's on UTSA so it's coming back here even though they failed but now it's going to be second and 20 four yard gain there on second down now we're on with third and 16 so third and long here for UTSA great opportunity from New Mexico State Defense to get off the field and they do as throws away pinned deep in their own uh half here but that's Washington junr don't the the power running back for New Mexico state he gets nine yards now second and inches they're faking the run to Washington again and they're going to throw it and it's Weber across the middle and he's got some room and gets some good yardage up the field as everyone expected them to run but it didn't now they're back here running again Washington here again that's another good yardage there that's eight yards and now we throw it out that's done of fou but there's a flag on the field and it looks like it's coming back holding on the offense and that's an offensive line Kenan Yaro holded there and so now we're second and 12 and that's a good Juke there from Watkins he keeps battling and gets the first down yardage so the penalty doesn't hurt us too much third and 12 now very difficult to do he's hit once again Hogan and UTSA have been rushing the pass really effectively especially after that first drive first and 10 and wide open over the middle that's mcon and he gets some really good yardage and macau's going to throw again thrown a lot today gets it out quick now second and six and that's a throw over the middle that is to a first down there's another throw so many players have been getting open that's McCoy that time been doing really well here trying to get everyone the opportunities there's another pass and Ma over 200 yards already we haven't even finished the first half this has been an exent uh two-minute drill but we stopped him there with Henry on the run in in inside the five but that time he gets in and it's 17 to three only 7 seconds left here in the second half so they're just going to hand it off here to F nice move in the side but uh that's going to give us one second left to see if we can go deep and get something he throws it up and it's caught Johnson and it's all the way to a touchdown PJ Johnson is going to give us a touchdown right before the break and a mix up between the DBS has cost a two-score lead here for UTSA Hogan just throws it up there and the two defensive backs just get lost between each other Harris is one I'm not quite sure who the other one was but that'll bring us to halftime and that looks a lot better than it did before we scored that touchdown both passing um offenses have been doing well so let's see what they do in the second half I'm sure UTSA will want to keep that up and they will go with the pass pass that's a fake goes for a long one but that's a very easy catch that was Clark as the corner back toy was going down but going right down the field but he ended up stopping and and and getting the the catch so now they're and the 24 yd line and they're going to go on hurry up barking instructions get the ball out quickly and that's another catch Clark got a five uh five catches for over 100 yards already especially with that last one getting them so many so now they're going to go again balls out quickly again and once again they get a first down now they're in within the last 10 yard second and goal throws it over the middle stopped on the one yard line now third and goal they try to run it and they fail so UTSA is going to have to take a field goal two possession game here now as Washington absolutely runs over players he's been really good in his few runs here today now second and one maybe he take a shot here and no they're going to dump it down here to Washington he gets hit hard but he keeps possession nothing on first down there and now Hogan's got the split backs he's got some time but he throws it right to the corner there Harris after making the mistake to give PJ Johnson the touchdown the first half he gets to pick him off pick Hogan off in the second half UTSA now are in plus territory to get something on the board after they left maybe seven behind them last time C gets the ball out quickly but that's only a few yards there as New Mexico State defend quick pretty well we haven't got to much but he gets the ball out so quickly and it's very difficult to defend against this High Tempo Noah huddle offense as he's barking orders again third and seven he's got to fake the run but this time it's there we get the rush and it's Cox coming on the safety Blitz and we're going to stop him here um even though they were in good uh field position and now we'll get the ball back that's loads of pressure on the play fake and the UTSA are going to get to the quarterback he's going to fumble and they're going to Wal in that's Evans with a defensive touchdown first interception now a fumble not a great two possessions for Hogan and now UTSA are trying for two Hogan has been absolutely destroyed in the back field all day and the the the two-point conversion is good but we need to do better up front if we want to be able to compete with these teams once again he's under pressure gets the ball out though don't fou over the middle he gets a first down we're on the temp Up Tempo now but we've seen it all day Hogan's Been Under Pressure he's been trying to do it the best that he can but there seems to be a free rusher you know for a lot of the plays here but he gets the ball out of quickly here again that's Stevens and that's going to be another first down it feels like when we're we are in the Noah huddle we tend to do a little bit better so maybe we'll have to do that more more so in the future it's it's giving us some yardage here but again no one blocks numerous free rushers and he gets hit again for a loss in the sack gets the ball out this time PJ Johnson over the middle that's another nine yards but it's still third and long and we need time for plays to develop and when guys are coming off the edge like that it's very difficult to do he does get get it out gets it to over the middle and we actually get a first down out of that now Hogan gets the ball out out of reach bobbled around that was third and seven and that's going to mean that we're going to have to take a shot here on fourth down it's a throw he's Out Of Reach and that is going to be a turnover on Downs it's only so much Hogan can do with all the pressure that he's under Ma has been pretty clean for the majority of the day gets that ball out only a few yards there bakes the hand off that time there is pressure but he gets the ball out over the middle mun gets the first down over 300 yards now I think in throwing the ball here for M he's been excellent and they're going to throw it on the bubble and that's eight more yards fakes the bubble trying to get away but eventually time runs out that's our best Rush of the day and uh that was Warren in the back field our back opening middle linebacker and he throws it there on third down but we actually break it up and we're going to get the ball back under pressure again in third and eight just unsurmountable as we have to give the ball back now in the fourth quarter UTSA probably time to just going to try and run this clock down start off with a run on this drive on this possession as he gets first down third and five gets the ball out quickly stops it we get the ball back but we need to get at least one score here second and 10 Hogan gets the ball out quickly Stevens has it gets initiates contact to third and four more Tempo and he's going to fake the hand off this is Stevens again I think he gets to Fourth and inches and we're going to bring out the offense and the QB sneak gets us the first down and we're going for the Jet Sweep pass ful follows his blockers nice Cut inside gets the first down before he gets taken down Hogan gets the ball out stens third and one now and we're going to throw it and it's batted away so third and one now it becomes fourth and one we're going to go for it and that's a quarterback sneak and they're not going to give it to him so that'll probably end this game and after all that we have an opportunity to get a touchdown Watkins and he gets into the touchdown with garbage time and that's really that all she wrote once we we really didn't do much in this game um UTSA were a different caliber of opponent we knew that and we kind of saw it against um you know other teams mowen absolutely ripped us to shreds he was by far the best player on the on the field and even though I thought that our defense did well for the majority of the game and I thought that D Hogan was pretty good we're still well aways from being anywhere near good enough to be going up against UTSA I think that's just the way things are and even though we have some players on the offensive line that are going to help us when it comes to running or not running the ball but um passing and and and trying to get the ball out as we as we technically are a spread offense even though I run the ball a lot we are technically a spread offense but in the end we just weren't good enough and you know our offense hasn't been very good this so far this year and we were under constant pressure there seems to seem to be free rushers nearly every other play and I just felt like we were never going to win this game we played well with them in the first half we kept the close but the second half was a different story and another out of conference game where I'm not surprised that we didn't win because it was one of our more tougher out of conference opponents being them being in the American so not surpris we we did we did lose that game we did get another defensive player of the week it's Sony a Sony Apu so he will uh get some uh good development with that hopefully and we go back to Conference USA plays we Face Sam Houston who are two in one um the one thing I can say about Sam Houston is that they are better than what you think they are they're probably I would say they're better than us I think um it is it is a closer match up than you TSA but I just think they have more to their team um it's not going to be easy jce B power is their quarterback he's got he can run a bit Gentry's got some good speed on him Smith is going to be a very difficult receiver to cover and we're just up built to face off against you know teams like this defensively we're going to struggle I think I think this is all about how we play on offense if we can guess our passing game going well we might be able to keep up with them but I feel like defensive we're going to struggle against this team and it's
