tell me how different it is um to to to race and to win when the when you're getting into the position whereby there's a championship at stake because a couple of races ago there there wasn't and then Red Bull tailed off a little bit and now it it's ramped up a notch we we felt that didn't we coming into this weekend particularly when they saw that they were going to be struggling here for the second consecutive track you mean how different is it for M how different now cuz he's still so far behind on the points but it's more like motivating because he can smell the chance coming um but we're still I mean that that for Lando is just a mistake really in turn four cuz he's on the inside he's really controlling the situation being really there side by side he's on the inside he has the control of the situation it's a little mistake there for Lando that he was too conservative okay and has it been like that I mean is that is that what we're thinking I mean is he being too conservative are they being too risk averse as as Rachel actually asked them in the pen um too risk averse it's it's difficult to say today I mean it really today they were caught out by surprise you know you couldn't predict that Ferrari is going to make that work so so I wouldn't uh I wouldn't be able to say that on today and risk averse they let those two drivers fight like crazy on La so I don't know how risk averse that is I mean they're going wheel tohe Lando almost spun out in turn four there in the battle with with Oscar um so yeah it's just a decision they've they've taken and um yeah but did that fight cost them today that that that that fight the very first slap first second well did it I don't know not necessarily Oscar drove a a wonderful race he was really fast he was doing yeah but then Lando got you're right but then Lando got him again on the next bit stop so after that it was kind of reset again and Oscar was was just driving a fantastic race uh he did the best they could today with that car um just that then that front end either they they got timed it wrong and should have gone for the one stop or they really couldn't because the front end was really gone we'll never know they will know internally um but I think they Oscar got the best out of it I tell you who's not risk ofers and that is Ted Kravitz because he has uh dropped himself somewhere in the middle of a 100,000 toosi Ted where are you thank you very much Simon yes call it A Rush of Blood to the Head call it uh wanting to put you and everybody else in amongst the celebrating toosi call it Madness but the passion the Ferrar ferraria passion has come upon me so I've decided to join everybody in their celebrations hopefully no shoes this time um but I'm interested also in in in a few things you know I've had a few Ferrari fans say to me this year you know Carlos won in Australia uh Char one in Monaco are they just happy with that or do they want to win some more races and that was actually something we said to uh the team boss Fred vaser On th Thursday and he said absolutely we want to win some more races the only reason we haven't been able to win some more races recently is because the car hasn't been doing what we want it to do and now now it is and now we see the result they were able to do Ferrari today something nobody else could do which is make a tire stop with you know so many laps over 30 laps to go and make the tires work where and where so many people couldn't we got a very young tioso uh here hi can I just ask you um your your how how are your feelings about today fine I'm fine you're happy you're happy for the winning and when did you realize and your son and everything when did you realize that the one stop what Ferrari were doing uh only at the end the last lap uh we uh we have something uh okay we are w we are winning it's true it's the dream come true we are we have been here the 19 when the last in 2019 Y and uh uh he uh he bring good luck for for I think I'm so I'm so pleased that you could be here with with your lad and thank you very much sir and uh and be able to have that have that passion and it is uh passion really Simon isn't it it is Simon it is it is passion and it's enthusiasm and you know Fred ver saying maybe it's not the the last uh race that they can uh they can win this year but also it's a marquee race and the Ferrari certainly shown something that they can do this year it's that they can win races at the important events when did all when did we all realize that sha was on the one stop and uh and he was incredible it was an incredible strategy were you screaming them to uh to willing them to vict of course I'm it's my third time here at Monza and yeah I think this moment is absolutely magical do you believe this morning that Ferrari could win I was feeling about it really you had a feeling that yeah when I one fight was yeah going to happen I was Al in my mind I had the Monas him and also the uh the Italian in and was so amazing to to feel the feeling here is super amazing being a Ferrari fan in Mona I think that is the best Sensation that you can ever experience because it's one of the best thing that you can uh that you will ever experience as a sport passion especially F1 thank you very much sir I'm feeling it Simon I'm feeling it down here you're feeling it but but how are you smelling it Ted I mean 100,000 toy look great on screen but it's been very hot day today he looks pretty close down there well it's close of course we can get a selfie it's close Simon but I don't know what you're talking about everyone's extremely fragrant and delighted down here and nice to see as well Simon that the new Ferrari merch is selling and uh when they turn up with the black t-shirts and they get everyone to buy it it's pretty good that was uh 50 50 EUR well spent for the experience today sir you must be really Happ I guess you haven't spoken to the FIA cuz they came in at 140 year old right oh it's €40 was it wow okay but uh what about the emotions uh today we seeing your your beloved team I was crying just to say the least it was amazing to watch it so yeah we're very very proud one stop one stop e yeah it was crazy didn't think it was going to happen but it did for a Ferrari Simon for a Ferrari I've got a notebook to do so I better get back but uh we're loving it down here yeah I bet you are I bet you are great stuff looks fantastic doesn't it okay I think we can hear from charlot let's hear from the race winner sh we heard you emotional on the radio it sounded well passionate as well you've won Monaco You've Won Monza in Ferrari black but red um just tell me how much that that means to you and the team and how much of a surprise was it in the end it was a really big surprise once again I mean I think McLaren was faster on the paper but we managed to put them under pressure and to push them into doing mistake strategy wise so that was really well played by the team and uh we did an amazing job overall so uh we did everything perfect even though I don't think we had the fastest car today so uh I'm really happy um it's such a special week uh as a Ferrari driver Italy is so tiring because from the Monday to the Sunday you've got a lot of things to do you've got a lot of attention around you and that puts uh the whole team under some kind of pressure um but uh once you make it in 2019 it was very special special and then today it's as special so uh it feels amazing the One Stop whose choice was it were you ever worried how much had you discussed it beforehand I um we we it was our Preferred Choice Before the Race then I think everybody doubted once we saw the rhythm of the Red Bull at the beginning of the of the race where they started graining with the hard and uh they were like oh maybe the heart is not that much of a good tire so maybe the two stops is preferred however when I put it I had quite a good feeling I just wanted to put the M of Lando under pressure and he P it in front of me and then I managed to get back some front grip whenever he was out the way and I knew that was helping me to uh keep those tires then Oscar pitted and that's where really my my car got much better and I I could really rotate the car the way I wanted and from that moment onwards I I knew the the win was a was a possibility do you think it all came down to that move past Lando at the start taking that opportunity do you think you'd have still been able to One Stop had you been further back and trying to fight a bit more um I think so but uh I it's so awesome I mean as a Ferrari driver to win uh to win here um it's just it doesn't get much better than that the only thing after that is winning the world championship of course you know um but this is pretty close do you know why they won today WEA the gods look at this cloud cover we haven't seen clouds in the last 4 days of being here track temperature dropped nearly 10° I reckon if the track temp was still up where it was yesterday and the day before his front tires wouldn't have lasted either and I think they they looked at the temperature he was feeling good he got the clear air and it worked the weather Gods wanted Ferrari to win today and they did they did indeed there we go it is one that will be as we said celebrated late into the night here in Milan and the outskirts here in is left on the table and when he's trying to chase down someone of Max fen's caliber surely the the number one priority is to win a driver Championship isn't it Zach uh number one priority is to win both championships I know that's kind of two priorities but uh you know they're both young drivers who want to win uh you know we've always believed in having uh two number ones uh that's always been mcclaren's way it can be very difficult to uh manage you know what it was like with Lewis we've seen it with Senna and and PR so they uh they get along great they do race each other uh clean and you know it's philosophical do you a onear team or a two-car team and uh you know the easiest thing would have been for uh Lando to just run away with it and then not have to put uh difficult decisions on on pit wall but uh you know Andrea and I are taking it one race at a time okay One race at a time but as I said it's still a net gain I believe for Lando of eight points of the gap's now down to 62 you you've come to this race and it was the quickest car again okay but for the strategies today it was the car totally different track from zanor We Now go to aan we saying they're all sort of outliers and then we go to another one where Red Bull suffered last year so what is what is the thought process as you approach to the last eight races I I don't see why we can't be uh going for the win every every race weekend I think we're going to have tough competition but I think we've shown our cars good in kind of all conditions all different types of circuits uh we were very strong in in Singapore last year uh Baku is always a bit of a a crazy crazy race but you know we're going to show up every weekend uh trying to go for pole trying to go for front row lockout trying to trying to win uh I'm sure it won't quite work like that for the next eight races but uh the competition's tough I think what we have is a three-way race for the Constructors Championship because Ferrari is 30 points behind but look at them today it was it was as them and us so uh I think it's exciting uh to see what happens it's good formula one right now isn't it how how is it when you do the think of it even better or even more nerve-wracking and sometimes disappo it's a bit of both you know when you start first and second you kind of you know just think about where we were at the start of 23 and here we are second and third a little bit little bit of a sting of course but uh I think we need to look and go that's 12 podiums in a row and we're uh at eight nine points out of uh the the constructor's championship Lando closed the Gap so uh not a bad result can I ask one more thing how destabilized do you think Red Bull is at the moment they really seem to have lost their Mojo out there and and you say you're receiving tons of CVS going across your table all the time from that team we've seen some high-profile people leave the team what are your thoughts yeah um you know ultimately don't know what's going on in there but you know I think Adrien newie uh I bet it'd be nice to have him around the conference room table right now looking at how to improve the car and obviously Jonathan Wheatley still there but you know he's moving on and and Rob Marshall who joined us so you've got uh three of the most senior people that were at at Red Bull huge huge contributors that it can't not be a loss we all have bad pit stops but it does seem to be that things are a bit more destabilized than they've certainly been recently and we hear you're trying to take Adrian newie but he's not returning your calls anymore is that correct we he always returns my calls we're good friends we go historic racing but uh as I've said I'm very happy with the racing team that we have depends if your pockets are deeper than Lawrence strolls I suppose thank you Zach really appreciate your time commiserations today but as you said justable second and third
