Gut Reaction: NEBRASKA DOMINATES COLORADO!

gentlemen this is my gut reaction to Nebraska's dominating performance and win over Colorado I can honestly say if watched my first character Chronicles of this season that I dropped August 25th I said I don't work a day in my life because I love what I do but I'll love it even more if Nebraska starts winning I can honestly say I've never been this excited in my entire life to do a freaking gut reaction video and nothing like escaping into the dark country of Nebraska to get away from pandemonium and record this gut reaction not many things in this world better better than a MC raly Burger all right and also shout out to Matt Ru with the quote of the night he said when he was interviewed right after the game and I quote it wasn't a contest in the second half and quote all right now real quick smash that like button if you're as excited as I am the Nebraska stomped a mud hole in Colorado and finally shut the buffalos up all right as always if you haven't done so yet help us keep this miss that content all right ladies and gentlemen right off the top Colorado's first drive first pass batted down by Ty Robinson second pass batted it's p b uh dropped first pass batted down by Ty Robinson easy for me to say second pass dropped by the Colorado wide receiver it's pandemonium in Memorial Stadium Colorado was clearly they were playing our fight song at their practices did you see that video online like half volume they clear weren't ready for Husker nation and Memorial Stadium okay and then Ty Robinson ends their first drive with a sack three and out now the first couple of carries went to ramir Johnson ramir and Dante Dowell appear to be the two running backs grabbing the Bow by the horns in that running back room for the Corn Huskers going forward this season Nebraska's first drive it looked too easy it really did Nebraska came in much more prepared and ready right out the gate than Colorado did Matt R out coach Deion Sanders Tony white out coach on Sanders all right and actually Colorado's offensive coordinator was my my offensive coordinator Pat Shermer at the Rams and then he went on to be the Browns head coach he got out coached by Tony white all right now the first drive ends with Dante Dowell diving it into the end zone put the Huskers up seven to zero and balloons were everywhere ladies and gentlemen I know it's controversial I just I love the balloons I'm a grown 40-year old man and I love the balloons they were everywhere all right the next kickoff was returned by one of the fastest guys in all of college football Jim Jimmy horn to our 37 yd line pushed out of bounds by the kicker much different than how that kickoff return went in the spring game thank goodness Nash hutmaker gets a sack on the first play they end up going for fourth and one on that drive and Colorado gets stuffed by Nebraska's defense and defensive line our dline dominated the entire game our offensive line Looks much improved and dominated in the first half of this game all right Colorado's first two drives they had negative2 two total rushing yards the buffalo's third Drive pick six Tommy Hill to the house put Nebraska up 14 to zero all right now Dylan riola how's he going to react true freshman teenager 19 years old first time on a big stage in a Cra Crazy atmosphere atmosphere like this comes out six out of six completes his first six passes meanwhile and sh Sanders first seven pass attempts he had three completions by the way he was also sacked three times okay and so he was sacked as many times as he had completions in his first seven pass attempts now callado his first 11 plays over a third of them were for negative yards and they had negative -2 total yards after almost a dozen plays for the buffalos all right and also with that pick six thrown as well and zero first downs so far Nebraska was dominating the trenchant on both Trench on both offense and defense like I've said before a million times offense puts butts in the seats defense wins games and we haven't won any championships in a while but the trenches wins championships we're building things in the right direction ladies and gentlemen escar lead 14 to nothing at the end of the first quarter the next Nebraska Drive Tristan alvano misses a 32 yard field goal the the kicking game is still the biggest question mark that I have at this point for this team going forward and just FYI I'm going to dive into this game and what Nebraska season looks like like going forward and how different they look from last year to this point this year already tomorrow Sunday night 600 PM central time to go out on YouTube each and every Sunday night throughout the football season I'm going to break down the previous Husker game looking forward to the next week in Husker football Sunday night 6 PM Central Standard Time on YouTube Colorado a team that had over 500 yards a total offense in their first game versus a very game North Dakota state to this point had negative4 yards rushing so far as the game's progressing we're going throughout the game here the Buffs didn't get their first down of the game until their fourth drive the bus Fourth Drive ended with another sack by Jamari Butler the black shir's fourth sack of the game already again they had eight sacks versus Colorado last year Colorado's offensive line throughout this game had more leakage than a holy cup okay and this is the type of game defensive lineman dream about their entire lives Nebraska's next Drive was was capped off by a 36y touchdown pass to Jaylen Lloyd who had dropped a touch touchdown pass earlier in the game it would have been a long bit of a challenging catch he catches this one and scores putting the Huskers up 21 to zero actually he got it to the one yard line I should say let me correct myself he got it to the one yard line and Dante Dowell put the ball in to the end zone behind great blocking up front with the o line to put the Huskers up 21 to nothing all right to this point Dowell had nine carries for 47 yards and two touchdowns meanwhile Colorado is now averaging negative one yards per play to that point in the ball game I couldn't help but notice Colorado's sideline was in disarray there were really disorganized really bad body language all right at that point in the game now in 2023 just for reference this is the Colorado offensive line with all new starters up front unlike Nebraska but I'll get to Nebraska here in a minute all new starters up front Okay but in 2023 Colorado's o line allowed pressures on 36.7 per of their plays that's like not far from 40% of your plays you your quarterback's getting pressure on them that percentage I'll look it up but it was much higher than that tonight I might add all right they were 58th out of the 70 power conference schools when it came to allowing pressure on their quarterback they allowed 56 sacks second most in FBS only Old Dominion allowed more all right this is what happens when coach Prime wants to focus on the skill positions on the athletes and playing flag football rather than tackle physical Blue Collar in-your-face Smashmouth football all right ladies and gentlemen good thing we wear pads in college football all right Deion Sanders I was curious was he gonna make any adjustments what was going to happen the Buffs next Drive drove down the field completing several short passes to Travis Hunter the All-American from last year all right this guy averages 116 plays a game think about that 116 plays a game that's what he averaged last year the most in college football history and only missed two plays in the whole game versus North Dakota State and one of those was because he had to come out because of an equipment issue ultimately it didn't matter as the Huskers blocked Colorado's field goal attempt at the end of this drive and Ty Robinson was the one who blocked it Nebraska still leads 21 to nothing and I'm about halfway into my gut reaction not supposed to have favorites these aren't my children I have favorites it's just how it is okay and he's been a beast so far this year now I'll tell you why he's one of my favites not only is he just humble and hardworking and tries to do things the right way and and never causes any problems and just leads through actions and quiet soft strong words but when I spoke with him at Big 10 media days he talked about how he wanted to be more explosive off the ball and he wanted to get better penetration and he wanted to get more sacks and hurries and pressures on the quar back and cause more tfls in the back field well all he's done so far this year is a sack versus UTEP a sack versus Colorado caus the safety versus UTEP due to his penetration I might add a block field goal okay his second block field goal in the past three games tonight versus Colorado and the last game of the year 2023 versus Iowa the man is doing his thing now through Nebraska's first 32 plays you want to talk about balance Colorado wasn't balanced Nebraska 16 passes is 16 runs That's What I Call Balance Ladies and Gentlemen ramir Johnson okay he really had a top sports center top 10 type play it was going to be an interception the next play I'm talking about and he literally snatched the sh in out of the Colorado players hands okay and makes the catch and takes it in for an 18 yard touchdown Nebraska's up 28 to zero at this point another R's another guy I've been rooting for I've said since he was a freshman and got to start way back against Ruckers up in piscatway years ago if anybody else remembers that game and he looked good I said this guy if he gets a chance he he's got speed he's got the ability to do some really good things but it's been very up and down for him it seems to be Dell and it seems to be ramir Johnson the two guys taking the bll by the horns and I'm excited for him and I can't help but root for him I can't wait to see what he can do this year halftime all right Colorado was up to a whopping negative 17 yards rushing all right Deion Sanders I I couldn't help a chuckle at this he's being interviewed I can see him on the sideline he's being interviewed right before halftime and he said and I quote our defense is playing pretty well it's going to pause for effect right there now what he was really saying is our offense has got to get going but trying to find some sort of BS positivity because it really was none at that point for Colorado our defense is playing pretty well and then he gets on the offense and I just I was like what okay well okay all right halftime Nebraska had three times as many first downs almost three times as many first downs as Colorado more than 100 more total yards of offense than the Buffs the Huskers average were averaging over five yards per Rush Colorado was averaging negative 1.9 yards per carry in their own right and Nebraska had the ball over five more minutes than Prime's boys at the half all right now Colorado has guys like Terell Warren Sapp The Rock gave a speech in their locker room last year you know who Nebraska has Nebraska has Husker Nation I want to give a shout out to the Husker nation and Husker fans the stadium was rocking tonight it was an electric atmosphere okay and I want it to be more like that way more often okay but this was one of the loudest games I've ever been to hasb fans in college football bar none I could argue best fans in sports as well all right Colorado Colorado's first second half possession they score field goal scores 28 to3 almost every time shadur drops back to pass a black shirt is running free they got people coming free whether it's Robinson who's stunting out stunting in beating the guard one-on-one whether it's a linebacker blitzing in a d linan looping out a quarter coming off the edge okay there seems to be almost a free Blitzer or black shirt coming free just about every single single time shur drops back I've talked about Colorado's transfer portal stats but here's just a brief update okay Colorado had the most amount of players brought in to their program of any team okay in in the power for conferences they brought in 45 new players this year the stats I gave in my previous show was over the past two years that the most amount of players leave of any power four Conference team with 41 Nebraska had the least amount of players leave in all of the Power four conferences with only eight and they also only brought in 11 players total and a lot of those Isaiah neor Jamal Banks dante. they're making immediate contributions all right Matt rule wants to emphasize recruiting high school players retaining high school players and developing them what Dion really wants and I was curious to see how this was all going to pan out and play out you got dbos Sweeney who's Mr Mr anti- transfer portal not going so great what's wrong with the balance here ladies and gentlemen and then you got Dion and his philosophy is basically he wants to out aete you wants to out aete you with players who are basically already developed that he doesn't even want to have to recruit because he wants the players to come to him all right random side note I still hate the targeting rule by the way the refs in the game tonight absolutely sucked all right you can let me know in the comments below if you disagree if you agree you can let me know as well two plays after the targeting call which frankly I didn't see speedy recovery to shadur all right but shadur Sanders threw threw a touchdown pass Nebraska 28 Colorado 10 the black shirts have continued to play well but while the offense has not been sharp in the second half we were about 10 minutes left in the game five minutes into the fourth quarter at this point that I wrote this notes these notes offense has not been sharp and Colorado's defense is also without three starters at this point in the game as well having lost both of their safeties as part of those three starters also I'm just going to ignore that all right I can't read everything I write sometimes I get emotional in games now I should point out there's really not a whole lot to report from the third and the fourth quarter other than what I really just talked about the Special Teams is a little bit of a concern the Miss short field goal 32 yard field goal the block punt we got to show up the Special Teams going forward a lot of the holding calls just just going back to what I wasn't going to read earlier a lot of the holding calls were BS when you drive a guy into the ground it's not holding it's called a pancake block all right I guess I did have to address it Nebraska had 11 penalties at least to that point in the game there's a couple minutes left in the game as we're recording this the final score was 28 to10 however here are my final thoughts on the game great start to the game okay atmosphere absolutely electric Nebraska way better prepared for this game than Colorado we actually want to play defense and run the ball Colorado just wants to play flag football okay and we had a huge advantage in the trenches especially on our defensive line dominating their offensive line we still have things to work on shocker ladies and gentlemen it's the second game of the year it's what you'd expect but there's no surprise we still have things to work on this is the momentum game of the year and I've been saying that all offseason this is a big win oh yeah Dyan is a stud he completed over two-thirds of his passes versus UTEP and completed about 70 think about this 75% of his passes tonight versus Colorado he's thrown three touchdowns with zero interceptions last year Nebraska's quarterback room combined completed 51% of their passes and had more than twice as many interceptions thrown as touchdowns thrown Dylan riola is a stud future is bright all right it's here the merchandise is up on the website ladies and gentlemen we got all sorts of merch we got same as a year ago okay they look the exact same you compare how this game went tonight versus the game how the game went a year ago in Boulder if Colorado looks the same what's the defense what's the difference the difference is Nebraska is vastly improved the quarterback is upgraded the wide receivers are upgraded the offensive line is better the defense is even better the secondary was a big question mark stepped up tonight who's going to take the ball by the horns at the running back spot got two guys who' stepped up special teams got to improve okay and here's one thing I mentioned earlier Colorado has all new starters up front Nebraska they're all back they've all started for Nebraska before a lot of them multiple years all Five Guys 158 combined starts through our offensive line that's good for one of the top five most experienced lines in the entire country oh by the way take that Desmond Howard talking about the score and I should mention okay I will be at Husker
