more interesting quotes from the press conference the other day that I think are worth having a conversation and one of them has to do with with this from coach Elco about Coach Klein and you know what he's going to run out the offense he says coach J says I'm not looking for a guy who runs a particular style of offense I'm looking for a guy that knows how to use our Personnel how to attack a defense and how to move a football consistently from year to Collin Klein year I don't know if I've ever gotten more pumped up from a single quote in my life and I'll tell you why you know you every dayers here at lockon aies know that I'm a huge Klein fan I think he's going to be an incredible coach at Texas A&M but I do think there's something about these coaches that have their particular style of offense you know what I mean uh coaches that run you know you've got your Gus Mazon was like that Mike Leech the late great Mike Leech had his air raid you know different SEC coaches different college coaches have their offense and that is their offense Jimbo had his offense and you know we saw it be similar for years and years and years and kind of BL start to not be great I like a coach who doesn't really have an offense his offense is what is based on the Personnel he has and I had really thought about that but like we're talking about quarterback recruiting right um with the a Long Street kid for the in the 2025 class he's a player he's different from Conor rman different from Marcel Reed different from Henderson all all of these quarterbacks that Texas A&M has on roster now different from Miles O'Neal different from some of the players that they recruit in the 2025 class different quarterbacks and we're not just talking quarterback we're talking receiver running back you we're talking about all of these different positions you're going to have different styles of running backs of tight ends of receivers of quarterbacks and your offense has to fit those guys you know I mean the the RPO let's say you wanted to run an RPO it ain't going to work with Miles O'Neal you know and RPL would work great with your other quarterbacks because they're athletic enough to do it so you have to build the offense around the Personnel you have and I still think there's a lot of coaches who build their offense you know now some of those coaches recruit to the offense they have so I'm not just saying like well we'll just get this kid they'll figure it out we'll get this pocket passer and see if turn into a do threat it's not like that they obviously recruit to what they want to do but I mean it's hard year to year to prepare for a football team that is constantly changing their style of offense and it sounds like that's what coach ELO wants and that's what coach Klein is gonna do so that got me a little fired up because I think that it's going to be hard from year to year to game plan for this Texas A&M football team if coach Klein is always changing up his defense and it sounds like that's the plan so I'm I'm excited ladies and gentlemen I'm excited to see what this looks like is is Texas A&M's 2024 offense going to be different from Texas ANM 2025 offense that's kind of what it sounds like to me you build it around your personnel so that was the number one quote outside of the quarterback stuff that we discussed on yesterday's episode of lock on agies that stood out to me and got me kind of fired up for the future um this is a quote from Carter carrols well it's from McKinley Jackson former Texas TM um defensive lman but this is um I believe this was at the combine this is a great quote so McKinley Jackson had this to say about the hire of Mike Elco he is one of the best hires in Texas A&M history that's High Praise that is some High Praise from a former Texas A&M defensive Leman who's looking to make his NFL dream become a reality here soon um so that's not a we're not going to Deep dive into that that's just you know a great gets you feeling good on a Tuesday Morning type of quote so here's Installing Offense a quote from coach Colin Klein he says installing the offense we have a long way to go we're going to be we we're going to be multiple we're going to be diverse we're going to be discip to be a disciplined Outlet a big point of emphasis for us this spring will be breaking down the game and being very thorough at every component to make sure we're playing the game the right way so you know this is something we've discussed here a ton at lockon agies is breaking down learn talking about it's hard to learn an offense you know you get a new coach a new defensive coordinator offensive coordinator or whatever you have to learn that coaches offense or defense their system their verbiage a lot you know talking to players I've heard that that is the problem a lot of times is the verbage a lot of offenses and defenses are very similar at the base and then there's Concepts that Branch off of it and but you know a lot of coaches use different verbiage that verbage is what players often say makes this difficult so you know coach Klein and these players are having to learn or get on the same page and learn this verbiage but this is one of those things I mean it's just this is we can talk about it it's not going to be a problem when you know helmets are are strapped up and pads ready to roll you know this isn't going to be a this isn't going to be a concern but still thought I wanted to share that quote um and then here's this is an Offensive Line interesting quote on the offensive line from coach Klein he says he says we're uh we're going to have a lot of different guys snapping it a lot of guys moving in inside out and outside in it's going to be really fun to watch coach Cushing has already done a fantastic job with those guys so you know one thing Bryce Foster this was from coach Elco he's going to be with the trk and field team in the spring I I don't want to I'm not a huge two sport athlete person I just think you know is you know be with the football team you know what I mean I I don't know that's that's my that's my take if y'all disagree that's okay but I mean this is your Center so he's he I mean he's been calling out him not being there at Spring is will have effects I'll tell that right now so it's just a position you can't not have Bryce Foster there I mean this is a real problem and then Coach CL I mean coach Elco when he kind of brought this up did not seem stoked so my thoughts on that and no disrespect to the track and field team what I'm saying is is just you know Bryce Foster's role on this team is huge not having him to you know he's the one pointing out there's your linebacker there's there's your weak you know he's pointing these things out and snapping the football getting that rapport with the quarterbacks it's not we saw some snap ises at times last year so that I'm not stoked about that but that's kind of what coach Klein's talking about here you're gonna have a lot of guys snapping it you're gonna have a lot of guys moving in and out on the offensive line whether it's from tackle to guard guard to tackle so I I don't think that this coaching staff really feels confident with who the starting offensive Line's going to be which is a little bit interesting to me um I think that you're going to see different guys mix in and out I think that I still think you could go see them get another offensive lineman in the portal will any of the transfers get involved this offensive line is going to be a very interesting position group to monitor during these spring practices coach Klein we want to talk about Chase bantes Chase bantis and his versatility he says um we'll have a much much better feel for that at the end of the spring and after we've had a um substantial time to put pads on and helmets on and see the fit it's hard to judge a guy in one spot because there's so much continuity and communication involved so you know I think they're going to move bantes around and see where they where they what they think fits him best and what fits best for the rest of this offensive line but um I think bantes is going to have a good season um this year you know freshman All-American pulled his name out of the portal back in Texas A&M I think he's in for a good season so I'm pretty excited to see what his year looks like but you know these were the quotes from coach El from um the offense we we'll talk about some defensive quotes probably tomorrow on the show um but I want to talk about some offensive quotes today and those are the ones that stand out I'm excited that Co you know they're going to be they're gonna their offense is going to change from year to year it's not going to be the same offense every single season I'm excited about that I think that's great to see I also think it's exciting to see um it's exciting to see that this offensive line you have a lot of guys moving around it makes me feel better about the depth on the position on the in that position group so I feel pretty good about this offense and Coach kle I just I can't wait to see what this unit could do in the middle of you know the uh NCAA tournament for the Aggies and some baseball games but I really did want to you know bring this up and have this conversation um and you know of course we're not going to we're not going to preview the home game between Florida and Texas A&M coming up in 2025 why you why would we there's just not not much there we'll talk a little bit about it and how we feel about it and how we feel about those programs and recruiting but the main point here is to go through this schedule because you have you're GNA head to a few places you haven't been in a long time so your 20125 home games in cyfield you're going to host the Auburn Tigers you're going to host the Florida Gator you're going to host the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks your away games you're going to head two LSU to beton Rouge you're gonna head to Texas that'll be a fun one you're gonna head to Arkansas this game is no longer at the Cowboys Stadium at AT&T this is now a true Road game in 2025 you will play in fville in this ball game and then of course your last Road game is in Simo Columbia Missouri taking on the Tigers so it's literally just flipped from this year right yeah because this year you go to miss yeah it's literally just flipped from this year which is interesting I don't understand the reasoning for that I I don't know but um this will be the first time the agies have played in fville since 2013 and this of course will be the first time the agies will play Texas um on the road since they joined the SEC and then the lone star showdown was no longer a rival so um I mean getting into these games a Florida little bit 2025 when it comes to Auburn and Florida is the year that I think for different for these two teams but Florida has that quarterback a lagway DJ lagway who's gonna be a star huge kid uh strong arm gonna be a great quarterback he's a true freshman this season so you know does he is he the guy next year I think he's going to be a really good football player but also we've discussed that schedule for Florida Florida's schedule in 2024 is impossible impossible I I mean I one top I keep saying that I need you know what let's do it let's read Florida's schedule because it's like it's so bad um that like I I I feel bad for the Gators I mean in all honesty uh okay so let's go through it here we go Miami Samford there's one win Tex Texas A&M at Mississippi State UCF at Tennessee Kentucky at Georgia at Texas LSU at home or Miss at home at Florida State are you kidding me the only two wins that I would call the only guaranteed win on that schedule of Samford and then you could argue Mississippi State on the road but still it's still a road SEC game I mean kuy's no joke any I mean this this is I feel bad for the Gators and the reason that's important is I think there's a chance a very good chance that Napier is gone after this season unless they kind of look at this and just go well what does he nothing he could do this year 2025 will be it but if that happens I think that lagway kid will probably enter the portal you know we all know how it works so but all so that's my thoughts on Florida for 2025 that game will be of course be in C field but then the Auburn game is the one that's gonna be interesting I think that Texas I think Auburn is moving in the right direction they're recruiting well um they've made some staff changes they've got you know cam Coleman I was talking about was a Texas SAA Maggie for a while of course takes his talents to Auburn um you know their talented young class that they have in 2024 or 2023 and their 2024 classes you know you'll have that one class as freshman next year and then one class sophomores with a ton of talent around um Hugh freees will will have his kind of footing there so that'll be a tough game I'm glad you're playing that one in Kyle Field I would not want to play Auburn in Auburn in 2025 I think Texas A&M um caught a break there um then you so yeah so that's my thoughts about Florida and Auburn I think that at home those winable games I I think that you can go you very well could go four and0 at home then the road is going to be when it gets tough I think that Arkansas is a win so I think I really do think Texas's got five wins you know and listen once again so many things can change florid could come out of nowhere Auburn could come out of nowhere become a Powerhouse maybe this leby guy at Miss gonna be awesome and this is a tough game there's no real reason to project it but I mean just based off right now where we sit I think you can win all those home games and I I still think that Arkansas isn't going to be anything special anytime soon so going to Baton Rouge going to play Texas The longar Showdown um on the road and then playing Missouri uh on the road those are tough games Missouri that's once again could are they this one hit wonder I I I I go back and forth at one point I thought they were now I'm all in on on what coach drink's doing I think he's doing a good job so I think playing in Colombia in 2025 is going to be no easy place to go win I think the fans are going to buy in I think the atmosphere there is going to get better and better um with every season so yeah I don't see this being any kind of easy place to go and and get a victory so um I mean that's that really is the bulk of the schedule there I think that you I feel good about the home games I don't feel good about the away games this and once again this is a flip flop of the schedule from this year so it's the conversation we're having we've the the tough games are at home this year next year they're on the road so you know Texas saying him hopefully year two of Coach ELO and Coach Klein 2025 being year two you'll be in a position where this roster is in a better spot and the staff is settled in and you got your guys you recruit at the high level and you know you're not as scared to play LSU in Baton Rouge and and play Texas on the road and play Arkansas on the road and Missouri on the road you're less scared to to go play in those those venues so um I'm glad that the schedule Falls the way it does I would much rather have the easier schedule this year now but you could also look at that and go well I'd rather maybe just have a tough year one for coacho and then have this schedule in year two you could make that argument too um or have this year's schedule in year two you could make that argument I'm not going to yell at you for that but still I just think um I think in in year two they'll be able to compete at some of these tough road venues and win some football games in some places that maybe this year folks wouldn't expect coach Elco and his Aggie team to go win so that's the 2025 schedule let me know y'all's thoughts on the 2025 schedule I'm curious do we feel good about it I mean it's pretty much once again it's just flip-flop from this year so how do you feel about going to some of those State when this game's ready to happen the entire state of Texas is going to be you know I mean we're gonna have I'm it's GNA be insane I cannot wait for this football game so let's talk about what what the second game is and the first game is and discuss you know should should uh the revamp of the lar Showdown be there so the game number two Georgia Texas game number one is Georgia Bama now I did not let me pull up and see um where the Georgia Texas game is is it in on yes that game's in Austin I thought so and then the Georgia Bama game is in Tuscaloosa so you know I know that Georgia Texas is is going to be a hyped up football game for the onfield products now as you every dayers know I do believe that Texas A&M will give Texas hell when they come to Kyle Field I'll tell you that right now no doubt in my mind about it I think that Texas A&M is gonna I I think they can win that game I think Texas right now is in the better spot you know roster wise you know obviously but it's a rivalry game and it's at it's it's at home we see it all the time with rivalry games um you know the game the iron bow in all of these games it seems like every every rivalry game teams play each other close that's just what happens Texas S&M is gonna keep this game close are they gonna win I'm not gonna C and guarantee that do I think they can win resounding yes but I I just don't I don't see I get how now you have to look at this from a tech Texas and a Texas STM fan perspective and a college football fan perspective and you can make both arguments I think you can argue that Georgia Texas and Austin is probably the more hyped up game just based on the college football World the college football Community the Georgia Bama game in all honesty I think that game should be three I'm gonna give my personal opinion here I think Georgia is gonna steamroll Alabama in in tes CL I really do um I think that game should be number three with Texas Texas A&M or Georgia Texas you know one and two wherever you want to have that so I kind of think this game is one um where the the lone star showdown in 2024 is going to be a game where it's probably more exciting to Texas and Texas A&M fans than the college football Community now I'm once again this is going be a football game unless something crazy happens there's injuries you know with it being near the end of the year that I mean this is going to be if everybody's healthy or everybody that's you know super super important is healthy this line is going to be close because it's it's a rivalry game it's it's on the road for the team that's probably the better football team in Texas so you know that's kind of my thoughts there but if you love college football if you love rivalries there's no way in the world this game shouldn't be number one in my opinion I I just don't I don't see how you can't have that game number one it's going to be be a huge game the I mean the whole state of Texas is going to stop what they're doing for an entire you know for a weekend and then on top of that I mean rivalries I always say are what make college football the best thing in the world rivalries no question no debate to it you know Michigan Ohio State Auburn Alabama Old Miss Mississippi State Texas Texas A&M I mean these games are what make college football the incredible thing it is Army Navy this is what makes it great so I just don't see a you know I think folks have forgotten folks that aren't Texas or Texas A&M fans have forgotten what the lone star showdown is we haven't seen it played in I mean since the agies have been part of the SEC it's been so long and I think because of that people have forgotten people have forgotten what the robbery like I mean you all y y'all got to remember I mean I was what 11 12 when this Roby went away like this a lot of people of the new generation of college football lovers College you know Sports lovers weren't you know super into college sports when this rivalry was huge so I just think that seeing this live again having this back on a year-to-year basis is going to be great for both of these programs in college football so I don't believe there's a more excit exciting game in the SEC than Texas Texas a& and cyfield next year I think it's going to be the hottest ticket in college football um I'm gonna um the goal was to is to for me to be there for that one I can't wait for that football game I absolutely cannot wait to see this game play out it's going to be a fun one and I think I really do believe that the aies can win that game it's going to be tough but it's at home and you got a shot because it's rivalry game and crazy things happen in rivalry games that is going to do it for today's episode of the locked on Aggie's podcast I really do appreciate
