total number of candidates to 14 by the end of the third day among the independent candidates is jenet nabila the former General Secretary of the PNC who chose to run independently after her new party The People's National Party failed to meet the registration requirement there's more in the following report three female presidential aspirants andf P kumakuma of the CPP Ghana Freedom Party gfp and Janet Asana Nabil former PNC General Secretary who was expected to file for another political party People's National party but ended up filing as an independent candidate oh we started that was in April to ask where thinking that by now the processes should be done because number one electoral commission asks us for a a a party headquarters they asked about the Constitution they told us to provide them with our regional and National Executives they told us to provide them 262 um District H Founders they ask us to H H Pay 40,000 Ghana cities they ask us to establish 16 Regional Offices across the country to which we did with um uh how do I even with uh with uh with haste we did all the things but then they told us that H they are busy some of the things they were supposed to do they couldn't do it and for that matter we can file as an independent candidate while the processes still go on we are not happy about it but then because we are not happy at all about it but then she also expressed concerns about the rigorous nature of the process in the history of this country it has never happened before that the Electoral commission will give a discount to encourage people I hope to file on Deadline Day James a Joy news the opposition National Democratic Congress has described the Electoral commission's response to their calls for an independent forensic audit of the voters register as untain the NDC has over the past weeks raised concerns over some irregularities in the register declaring a nationwide protest to drum home the appoint the Electoral commission has responded to the concerns of the NDC at a news conference just yesterday saying the ndc's reasons are premature show the NBC has hit back at the EC saying the EC's response is also untain tanko Rashid computer is deputy director of Elections and it for the NDC he spoke earlier on newex we met them on Friday we were on the round table with them we did a demonstration of the Grievances that we have all the Commissioners were there plus their ICT consultant they look at it they look at the enity of the problems that we demonstrated to them and we said look we are even ongoing we still doing further checks about it but these issues that we are we cannot trust your judgment to fix it because you deliberately created that mess because they used their own way that they deliberately added those one how can you deliberately add figures into a register for what purpose it it it tees out from the register that we are talking the audit of the register let us have the audit what is Their process the Ashan Regional chairman of the MPP Bernard inbaku introduced the deputy speaker of parliament as the MP's candidate for formula insisting it is a united front for victory Parliament now constituents of fora have received this news with so much excitement um considering the turnout of the 2020 election results um that made Andrew es the second Deputy speaker of parliament um represents them in Parliament despite all the Grievances that came up during the 2020 elections you you would remember posy that in the lead up to the 2020 election uh there were some disturbances I mean an internal disturbance between Andrew and then the constituency executive which led him to out himself from the party to contest as an independent candidate he won on on his own as an independent candidate and when he went to proceeded to Parliament he still joined the NCP to form the majority in Parliament it is upon this that the reconciliation committee set up by the national New Patriotic Party have made up their mind to draw back Andrew into the party this strategy they believe would make sure that they maintain the forina seat for the NCP considering the fact that this particular election is going to be a critical one for both parties you realize that historically the fora constituency has been the constituency of the MP since 1996 it has been won by the mppp until 2020 when um honorable Andre won as an independent candidate well for them to maintain that particular seat it is only right for the nppp to have Andrew es represent them as Member of Parliament for the pera constituency in January when the party was having the internal parliamentary contest they left out the pera constituency to strategically um deploy moves to make sure that they do not cause um chaos in inside the party especially when there is an independent candidate and so they did not even open nomination for any other candidate to contest and so it is only right for the party as they say to bring out the second Deputy speaker who is the incumbent Member of Parliament to represent them um on on in the fora constituency as their parliamentary candidate it is upon this note that the reconciliation committee led by the regional chairman of the MPP Bernard introduced to the second Deputy speaker to to the people of fora as their parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the New
