>>> IT IS A KDKA FIRST ALERT WEATHER NIGHT, WE HAVE WHAT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CALLED THREE CONFIRMED TORNADO TOUCHDOWNS IN OUR AREA. TONIGHT, VIEWERS CAPTURING IMAGES LIKE THIS . WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FUNNEL CLOUD OFF OF INTERSTATE 70 IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. >> KDKA'S RICKY SAYER, SENDING US THIS VIDEO, YOU CAN SEE HEAVY RAIN FALLING JUST ABOUT 90 MINUTES AGO. IN THE WHITEHALL AREA. >> AND PAT RAGAN SEND VIDEO FROM HARRISON CITY, NEAR HIGHLAND ROAD. AGAIN, FUNNEL CLOUDS SPOTTED IN AT LEAST THREE LOCATIONS, THIS VIDEO FROM 5:00 THIS EVENING. NOW THINGS STARTED TO GET ROUGH OVER THERE OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF HOURS. >> WE SAW THE HEAVY RAIN AND STORMS NOW TALKING TORNADOES, THAT IS WHY WE ARE BEGINNING WITH FIRST ALERT METEOROLOGIST RAY PETELIN . WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW? >> WHAT AN INCREDIBLE MADE THIS HAS BEEN. TODAY WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS THAT WE WALKED IN AND YOU CAN SEE THE DYNAMICS FOR THE POTENTIAL OF FLOODING. WE HAVE A FLASH FLOOD WARNING OVER SOUTHERN ALLEGHENY COUNTY AND IT TURNED TO A FOCUS ON TORNADOES BECAUSE OF THE STORMS STARTED TO ROTATE WE FOUND SEVERAL REPORTS OF FUNNEL CLOUDS OR TORNADOES ACROSS THE AREA NOW STARTING TO GET FLOOD REPORTS COMING IN. CARS SUBMERGED IN WATER, WATER COMING UP, AND THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:15 FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF PITTSBURGH, BACK TO NORTH HUNTINGDON, DOWN TO SUTERSVILLE, BACK THROUGH BETHEL PARK ON TOWARDS ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, SO SOUTHERN ALLEGHENY COUNTY, AND SO WE CAN GET IT TOWARDS 8:15 WE'VE HAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS TO THE TUNE OF AN INCH TO 2 1/2 INCHES IN THIS AREA, THAT BROUGHT THE WATER UP QUICKLY, THAT IS STILL OUR MAIN CONCERN AT THE MOMENT. THE STRONGEST STORMS THAT ARE SHOWING THE BEST SIGNS OF ROTATION ARE NOW MOVING INTO EASTERN PARTS OF WESTMORELAND COUNTY AND LIKE AN EAR, THIS IS GOING TO START CLIMBING UP THE RIDGES THERE, WE HAVE SOME STORMS BACK DOWN INTO GREENE COUNTY. AS WELL. ONE OF THE STORMS THAT I HAVE BEEN WATCHING CLOSELY, THAT THIS LITTLE CLUSTER HERE, AS YOU GET IT TOWARDS GREENE COUNTY, THAT ONE HAS HAD A LITTLE SIGN OF ROTATION, OVER A FEW SCANS. I'M GOING TO TAKE ONE QUICK LOOK BECAUSE I PROMISED YOU I WOULD LOOK AT IT. AND THAT IS SORT OF THE CASE. SO IF YOU ARE IN GREEN, IN MONONGALIA COUNTY, STAY WITH US WE WILL KEEP TRACKING THAT AREA THAT WILL SHOW US THE SIGN OF ROTATION THERE, THERE HASN'T BEEN A WHOLE LOT POPPED UP BY THE ROTATION TRACKER AND YOU CAN SEE THAT IT IS STARTING TO SHOW UP, SO CERTAINLY SOMETHING THAT WE ARE WATCHING, SO THIS WILL LIKELY MOVE ALONG THE GREEN IN THE MONONGALIA COUNTY LINE HERE, OVER THE COURSE OF THE NEXT HOUR OR SO, SO A SLOW-MOVING STORM, THAT HAS SHOWN SLIGHT SIGNS OF ROTATION AND CERTAINLY ONE OF THE CONCERNS THAT I HAVE, BUT WE HAVE TONIGHT A FIRST ALERT WEATHER NIGHT, JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE ONE, SEVERAL STORMS THAT HAVE ROTATED SEVERAL STORMS THAT ARE LIKELY GOING TO BE CONFIRMED AS TORNADOES ONCE THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOES SURVEYS OF THE DAMAGE, THEY HAVE LOOKED AT THE VIDEO AND SAID THESE ARE LIKELY TORNADOES BUT YOU DON'T KNOW HOW BAD THEY ARE. OR WHAT ANYTHING IS, UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE SURVEYED THE DAMAGE WE HAVE ALSO HAD THE HEAVY RAIN THAT HAS TRIGGERED SOME LAST FLOODING AND THESE SHOWERS ARE GOING TO BECOME LESS NUMEROUS. BUT WE WILL TRACK ALL OF THIS FOR YOU AS THEY CONTINUE TO PASS THROUGH THE REGION. >>> ALL RIGHT RAY, WE WERE SENT THIS VIDEO, THIS IS FROM THE EAST LIBERTY AREA, YOU CAN AGAIN SEE THAT CLOUD LINE, AND THE ROTATION THERE, THIS VIDEO WAS TAKEN JUST BEFORE 4:45, LOOKING TOWARDS HIGHLAND PARK AND PEOPLE IN THAT AREA POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT THEY HEATED THOSE WARNINGS AND THOSE ALERTS THAT I GOT ON THEIR PHONES AND THEY ACTUALLY WENT TO THEIR BASEMENT. >> JUST AN INCREDIBLE THING TO SEE AND CAPTURE ON VIDEO. LET'S SHOW YOU THE PICTURE OF THE SKY WITH MENACING CLOUDS, I THINK THIS IS LOOKING ACROSS THE ALLEGHENY RIVER TOWARDS THAT AREA, SHARPSBURG AND HIGHLAND PARK BRIDGE, WHERE FUNNEL CLOUD WAS CONFIRMED, A TORNADO TOUCHDOWN CONFIRMED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, WE HAD SENT CHRIS DeROSE OUT THERE NEAR THE HIGHLAND PARK BRIDGE AND YOU WILL JOIN US. CHRIS? >> Reporter: GOOD EVENING, AND THE REASON WE ARE ON WASHINGTON BOULEVARD IS BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT HERE, ONE OF THOSE CONFIRMED TORNADOES CAME DOWN BASICALLY RIGHT ON THE SPOT, RIGHT BESIDE THE ROAD, YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THE DEBRIS OUT HERE, AND THE PITTSBURGH PUBLIC WORKS ARE WORKING VERY HARD RIGHT NOW, TO SNAP THESE TREES BACK AND TO PUSH THEM BACK OFF OF THE ROADWAY, RIGHT WHERE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD MEETS THE ALLEGHENY RIVER BOULEVARD JUST DOWN FROM THE ZOO AND THE HIGHLAND PARK BRIDGE BUT YOU CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE TREES, JUST PAST WHERE THIS BACKHOE IS WORKING AND THEY ARE SNAPPED AND ONE OFFICER THAT WE SPOKE TO, AS WE WALKED DOWN TO THIS LOCATION, THIS IS EXACTLY THE THING THAT THEY DID NOT NEED TO HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY DURING THE RUSH HOUR, THIS WHOLE SECTION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED DOWN, AS THESE CREWS ARE WORKING TO GET ALL OF THIS DEBRIS OFF OF THE ROADWAY, AND ONE OTHER POINT OF NOTE, THERE ARE SOME POWER LINES THAT WE SEE, THEY SEEM TO BE DOWN A LITTLE BIT IN THIS AREA, WE ARE KEEPING AN EYE ON THAT, AND WE ARE GOING TO KEEP YOU UP-TO-DATE BOTH ON-AIR AND ONLINE AS WE WORK TO LEARN MORE OUT HERE BUT REPORTING ALONG WASHINGTON BOULEVARD. BACK TO YOU GUYS. >> THANKS FOR THE UPDATE THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALSO CONFIRMING A TORNADO IN WEST MORRISON COUNTY, GETTING SOME OF OUR FIRST LOOKS AT WHAT CAME THROUGH THERE, THIS VIDEO WAS SHOT FROM NEAR THE BACK PARKING LOT IN SAINT BARBARA'S CHURCH, AROUND 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON, ELIZABETH KING TELLS US THEY SAW DEBRIS FLYING THROUGH THE AREA AND TO CAPTURE THE VIDEO OF A CLOUD FORMATION OVER THE GIANT EAGLE AND OTHER BUSINESSES AT THE SHOPPING CENTER, IT IS ALSO CLOSE TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND PENN MIDDLE SCHOO
