football with Cam Hayward we are joined today by some pretty good guys in TJ um but you know we are very honored uh to be joined by TJ watt Larry oen jobi Alex he Smith thank you guys for coming on thank you for having us good to be here wow W um let's jump right into it I want to talk about you TJ um you were recently on another show and you were talking about stealing Sachs uh actually submitting saxs to Elias to get them overturned after you said you wouldn't do it you're in a mixer because you talked to me about this off air and you wasted my authentic answer so what do you want me to say here would you do that to Larry no Larry's my dog would you do no Alex's my dog it was a unique situation it was like two three years ago bro you brought it up no she brought it up bring up the P Alex would you do that to a teammate D line I lies I never I've never done that I've never went to lies Larry would you do that never went to Elias have you ever went to Elias yeah I went to Elias it's if it's like a cornerback that I'm fighting a sack You' went to Elias with me before no I know you have you know I have for a fact who told you that Elias wait did you yes I don't remember Championship yep second year second year undefeated beat the Georgia Bulldogs and National Championship so you know went year three now how many restarts zero zero restarts on all- American I Ain playing no okay okay J's impossible no way I don't believe it Alex I believe it I mean the best player on the I say I'm one of the best NCAA players on the team for sure what about you Larry play you have the game though I only played it when yall came by the room that was it oh bondie what about you over there no I played I played against you and I threw like five picks I quit in the third quarter I Haven picked the controller back up yet I got to start playing Larry's like dragon games broken controller at least you're portal you're crazy man Alex give me a story about Larry in college give me a story about Larry in college let's see um you know I was a young I was a young guy so you know didn't uh know him as much but I just remember getting to to I think the first game is who we played that first game of 2016 first game in 2016 was it Louis I think it was Louisville that was Lamar Jackson's heising year went crazy on us but Larry had a good game they hung like 73 on us it was crazy how you have a good game with 73 hey he had a good [Laughter] game Larry give me a Alex heith freshman story oh he just came into school ready to work I mean it was nothing bad about Alex for real for real he used to send me his uh videos of him doing like pass R drills and stuff like that but other than that Alex St forward guy worked hard a much he's just a good guy I appreciate that that's very kind words huh those are very kind words I appreciate it do you think TJ could go back and play quarterback in high school I mean anyone can play quarterback what's the question is is it wait what did you say play quarter play quarterback all right now um win a state championship I think he come close in North Carolina I would say North Carolina has some great talent so you're saying no huh so you're saying no just own it I don't I don't think so that's fine that's fine if I could play both ways I feel like I at least have a shot you know Larry what do you think if he could win a state championship in high school in high school right now I didn't know he play right now right now right now now this person this person this exact person play both ways come on bro I don't think we should let him play both ways though I think if he's the quarterback he's got to play that's fine got to return kicks no all right I don't think it would it would help if you return kids kids are getting big yeah you a seen them high schoolers now they look like Darnell Washington it's true it's true I see that rival stuff yeah solar no no was a long he get bored though he would get bored I he that uh changing gears a little bit we got a lot of new guys on the team who's been the one guy that surprised you surpris is just light like or just you know really pton pton especially after the preseason game just how he flew around played played fast loves football you can tell by his attitude I think Payton uh beanie's been having a heck of a camp he's been balling so beanie Bishop excited to see him uh you know balling this camp and so excit to see him get better I think djck uh on the edge just a guy that uh real Scrappy at corner and just been able to talk a lot of I don't know if I can swear a lot of smack while he's been making plays so the energy he's brought has been awesome to see that's awesome TJ question for you um you see free agency in the off season what's your pitch the guys to come to the Steelers it's easy there really isn't much you have to pitch cuz Mike T is so well-known across the league and respected and the fans I mean when we travel everywhere um the fans come with us so it's just an incredible place to play I tell them that it's about tradition and we're so close like you know since I've been here we haven't won a playoff game I've talked about that on and on but I truly feel like we're so close and I mean we don't we can't play Forever so the time really is now I'm trying to recruit guys and guys are excited to come and play here and I feel like that's why we have something special brewing and why Pittsburgh is such a special place to play Larry is that what attracted you to to Pittsburgh yeah I think Coach T play a big role you know being on the Otherside being in AFC North for my entire career just seeing how Mike T you know ran the operation and just the the Legacy and the tradition that's been built around this organization it was Easy Choice Alex you didn't have a choice I did but I'm glad to be here um I'm run through some quick questions right now best dressed out of this group me lario lario although he was on the up skirt steak skirt steak to a steak cook off where he took last place no I did no Vinnie took last place well that was cuz he put lemon pepper on a steak l pepper Isreal too you had yeah that Montreal State um if you could play one other position what position would you play uh I would play running back okay Larry grew up playing it I love it we linebacker be fun that'd be fun uh tight end tight end okay you uh tight end it's an interesting thought who's the one player you don't want a room with at camp or on the road out of this gr what bro he's included in this you keep pointing to anyone didn't know Larry and TJ are rooming together we have a yeah we share a bathroom no you guys are rooming together we share a bathroom we share a bathroom he has a room I have a room I like candles and you know about it is it noisy or he gets out in front of it I like candles is it noisy yeah I like candles I've have a very hydrated roommate wow I'm at Camp I'm supposed to hydrate every is what makes the destination worthwhile last question for you guys and I let you guys go um what are you most excited for this year uh I don't know I'm just really excited for this year um you know I felt like you know we got a really good squad this year and I'm just excited to go ball at these guys and you know get to and win Super Bowl that's the ultimate goal so um that's what I'm excited for just a ball with these guys uh I feel like there's a unique energy you can just kind of feel it and kind of what TJ said earlier it's just time you know what I'm saying like I feel like we have the right pieces we have the right mindset and it's just kind of time you know when you you beat on a door for so long and you're so close at a certain point you just got to break through and I feel like we have a unique enough group and you know I think we have the right pieces to get get over that home but it's up to us to do it so we we got to go out and do it I think we have a good mix of young and old not like we haven't in years past but our Acquisitions have been aggressive uh with intent and we have experience in the playoffs not that we've won lately but we have experience we know how serious we have to take things especially this time around this time of year uh to be great and to have longevity and win late in the season and uh what's been happening can't can't continue to happen I think there's a sense of urgency globally um offense defense and special teams and I'm just excited for it I love it let's give them one more question you guys ask cam anything you want yeah I got I got a question here we go do you consider yourself a a well-rounded athlete yes then join the Home Run Derby tonight and let's see a swing a bat thanks for having us on M drop wow wow wow I I didn't this I this is the first I'm hearing of that I did not know that I do I started my own podcast but cam was the one that influenced me and told me start now so I started now how annoying is C I'm not rating I thought so too do you think that is adequate the6 rating yeah yeah I think he's pretty fair the middle linebacker though that's a little well I think they saw his Duane highlights yeah the up here as well so um yeah loving every moment of it and I can't just wait to get you know I mean a regular season game and see that crap what's your favorite part of Pittsburgh uh swickley yeah we've tonight uh Co said he's competing [ __ ] said he's out of it now wait wait Co is out of it now yeah he's played every single year for the specialist and now he's checking out I got a right hammy tightness lower body injury how wait how does a Long Snapper get right hammy tightness running he's on his own running big question mark right there um yeah I'm going to leave that alone right there um looking at your school for this year and we'll end with this um what do we think the record is going to be for each each your schools Duke kan's going to be seven and three win the NEC go to the playoffs go the playoffs or what yeah I mean we play Boston College Coastal Carolina and Youngstown State the first three games okay so I mean they're they're teams that are above us divisionally so unfortunately those are games that so we're probably going to drop but hopefully we stay healthy and then we're going to wipe our conference clean and go to the playoffs okay s and three seven and three couldn't even tell you give me give me give me come on B you got to give me something how many games they play 10 10 five and five got to play more than 10 games yeah they probably they got to play like 11 or 12 okay six and six I'll go 500 okay I like that cam this is really a question for you say yeah undefeated bait Michigan champ yeah they all in the paid $13 million for the roster
