welcome everyone to a piece of Alex football history as we Crown this season's National Champion there been so much that's gone into getting here twists and turns and now it builds to this the battle for Supremacy and what a matchup this is two survivors of the expanded college football playoff grind two of the top four seeds first down here for this offense [Applause] out of the shotgun he'll hand it off the junior able to bring him down quickly just trying to establish the Run there's not much there but give credit to that defensive line and those linebackers attacking the line of scrimmage to negate any chance at all the pass is incomplete so on the opening drive they're backed up here now third and nine dropping back you're going to throw for the first down but they don't connect it's incomplete and it brings up fourth down and the punt team makes its way onto the field and the fair catch signal for and takeen so Oregon's offense comes out for their first possession today all right Kirk let's take a quick look at the impact players for today's game [Music] here comes the first play of this drive they're set up at their own 48 we scanning the field it's turner He's escaping the pocket now and they stopped it but not before an explosive Play Moves the ball all the way to the 32 first down play called coming up how aggressive will it beasy looks like the QB is changing the play at the line and looking to throw now on first down and that pass is hauled in over the middle he stopped with the 22 this offense in great scoring position now big guys up front lined up it's first [Applause] down here's the handoff pickup is 5 yds so it's second down and five heads up the offense now operating in the red [Applause] zone and the same Runner has got it again he bring him down after a gain looks like they'll spot it inches short of a first down so here we go third down in the Red Zone the kind of play that decides football games on third down it's a handoff goes backwards losing three yards there a no field goal try here coach keeps the offense on the field to go for it on fourth down trying to extend the play your head out of bounds but not before they do here except contain the quarterback nobody's open downfield they pressure the quarterback the only problem is they can't keep him short of the first down Mark see if the offense can punch it in on second and goal 29 receiver looks it in it's complete brought down at the five after the completion defense getting pushed back that play sets up a third and goal from the five now back to throw it's Turner he's moving out of the pocket and he runs it into the end zone touchdown Jacksonville stain so a quarterback who can escape here comes the Jacksonville State offense again they were able to punch it in the end zone last time looking to do the same thing here to see if the defense can make adjustments some hard running there through a tackle they'll tackle him right at the and make the throw here I think he's kind of in that gray area decides to hand it off and at least picked up some positive yards they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one there's the defense stepping up the making a nice play let's face it this quarterback has been tough to deal with he's been able to run and pick up some good yards but this time the defense is in position and they tackle him for a loss on third down he drops to throw going for a big play downfield that one Falls incomplete they tried to press in deep but now it brings up fourth down I don't know if people understand how hard it is to defend against the Deep and man coverage like that but this defensive back did it perfectly turns his head back just in time to find the ball to ensure that and one final play before the end of the [Applause] quarter first down looking to throw the football quarterback escapes the pocket and takes off and he heads out of bounds after a nice pickup on the Run well Kirk Jacksonville State is in the lead here so both teams settling in this battle for the national championship through one quarter let's check out the game [Music] summary all right let's get the quarter offense setting up for a second down play he'll hand it off catch may but the defense gobbles him up for just a short gain say that's how you limit what an offense wants to do this time the defense just W the battle up front at the line of scrimmage not get giving up any big plays everybody's Gap sound it's really solid defense on that play tackled inside the 40 and it's good enough for a first down a running play gives the offense fresh set of [Applause] downs oh it's dropped off the tip by the defense there it's going to bring up second down quarterback checks the defensive look makes some adjustments looking to pass it's Turner running out of time in the pocket cannot escape and down he goes Chris that is textbook by this defense in man-to-man coverage nowhere to go for this quarterback he's looking around everywhere to find an open Man by the time he figures it out it's a sack for the defense on the screen doesn't produce a first down good work by the defense now it's fourth down and the pun team now on to kick it away bringing it back in it's mlen mcover te able to bring the here comes the Gamecocks offense back on the field they came up empty on the last position forced to punt it away and they begin to click [Applause] now goes backwards losing three yards there that's a great Play All Around by this defense their first level Defenders hold their own at the point of attack allowing the second and third level players to roam free and make the tackle close to the line of scrimmage looks down field and connects with a wide open wide receiver tackle made after a big game the defense is spread all over the field creating some one-on-one matchups and a quarterback makes them pay for it fresh set it down to the offense first [Applause] down and the quarterback looking to make a play through the air here's the throw deep downfield it's picked off he tried to fire the ball into a tight window and that's a solid return after the interception boy just a drive killer right the Jacksonville State offense back out on the field now they've got a choice here in the final minute do they get aggressive try to cut into this lead or play it safe and point toward the second half catch made on the right side tackle made after a nice pick up on the play he on the first play moves it to the 43 it'll be first down back to pass it's Turner defense is coming after him stock right there at the line no game and a timeout is called important stage late here in the second quarter well the defense does a great job here of pressuring the quarterback but I got to give the quarterback a lot of credit instead of taking a negative play he shows you his athletic ability and fights out gets all the way back to the line of scrimmage challenging play for the offense they face third and long here from their own 43 dropping back look going to throw for the first down from the pocket delivers over the middle brought out to the 47 and that will move the six they move the six the hurry to the line here on first down now quarterback sets up looking for an open man he's going to take off here and a big game before he goes out out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs this line get set up it's a first down [Applause] play quarterback drops back probing the secondary and he's got his man open down field they've got him down at the three big gain in that completion so the offense takes the field in the final seconds to the half chance for just a couple more plays quarterback drops back we get a pass the secondary makes it across the goal line first down play call how aggressive will it [Applause] be they'll run it from the gun they'll bring him down right at the 30 yd line it's a really good solid run I know it's not the flashiest big play but it's important for your offense to be able to get yards like that on early Downs you stay ahead of the chains and it opens up the playbook for the second and third down coming up quick throw to the left oh it's picked off what a play and he's got some open field ahead and he steps out of bounds after the great pick [Applause] solid here comes the Jackson Bill State offense again this drive is important last one ended in an interception let's see if they can get it going here first play of the drive he looks left for a completion that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down the game Ms the ball past the 40 sets up another first and 10 to the air it's Turner receiver makes the catch tackle made but it's a huge gain all the way to the 33 line Chris all week they heard about how fast this guy is the defensive coordinator told them they watched the film they've seen this guy a lot but I think the reality of seeing it now in person I think it surprised them they've got to make some adjustments to their defense are this guy in his speed or continue to have a field day they make the stop but not before a solid game that time how aggressive will they be on this first down play Easy from inside the Red Zone they're looking to throw looking to scramble to his left he's got some room can he get there and he gets to the end zone first down here for this offense quarterback appears to be changing the play looking to throw it on first down he's looking deep here and it's incomplete on the overthrow just too much on that ball here's the second down play that ball just seemed to sail on it you got to make sure to give your receiver a chance to be able to come down with a catch and Bounds because in today's game man these receivers make catches like this all the time and if you put the ball out of bounds you're not going to give them that opportunity first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be we quick throw that's RPO caught on the left side tackle is made just a short gain after the completion second down after that run on the previous play from the shotgun drops back looking for an open man goes to his right side there for the completion they finally make the tackle but the big game moves the ball across Midfield to the 47 chance to do what he just did pick up some valuable yards after the catch and it's incomplete the defender arrived the same time as the football and now it's second down dropping back it's Turner testing the defense with a throw downfield that deep shot is caught for a big [Applause] game big guys up front lined up it's first down pre- snap motion from the offense well they'll run it here on the Jet Sweep I like the Run play here and offensively at this point in the game you want to remain in that attack mode first while also staying in bounds and working that [Applause] clock he look to throw it here on second down he bought some time now lets it Go and it's incomplete he just missed his Target overthrowing it it's pretty simple as a defensive coordinator when the quarterback drops back to throne if we get pressure on him we got a chance to slow him down and win the football game if we don't could be a long afternoon good job here by dialing up the pressure and he's looking to make a big play downfield the catch is made for a huge pickup they finally get him down at the 10 yd line sets up a first and goal what a play the offense is clicking and the defense just searching for answers now hand off to the back the gain is three yds so second and seven and the wi out goes in motion it's a quick grab touchdown Jacksonville stain this quarterback on fire today fresh set it out to the offense first down looking downfield it's Turner he'll take a deep shot this one is broken up and falls in does a great job making a play on the ball not only that he tips that ball up into the air good chance for the defense to come up with an interception there SS the quick throw tackled pretty quickly but that is a decent gain on the throw so let's see what the play caller likes here on Third and short from the plus [Applause] 27 looking to pick up the first down through the air and it's caught and he's brought down at the one yd line what a play on the completion another big play for this offense but they are not fing back here even with a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter this defensive coverage seems one step behind the enti muscles across the goal line touchdown Gamecocks [Applause] this line getting set up it's a first down play and they'll keep it on the ground trying to run some clock and now it's the defense that calls timeout here trying to get organized and preserve as much clock as possible second down play coming up there's the snap they'll set up to throw he'll take a deep shot here and the pass is dropped incomplete would have had a huge gain took his eye off the ball offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down quarterback making some changes at the line drops back needing a third down completion here oh and another incompletion well Chris obviously they had to go through the air there to try to pick up this third down and long but when you're so far behind the chain but you really allow this defense to dictate things and allows them to put pressure on your quarterback and can affect the timing as we saw on this play needs a completion here on fourth down finds his man has the first down they've got it but they convert on fourth down and the drive keeps going now a timeout taken by the defense trying to preserve as much CL as possible for their offense a first and 10 play up for the offense the shotgun handoff here goes backwards losing three yards there and now it's the defense that calls timeout here trying to get organized and preserve as much clock as possible and that'll do it we have a national champion a really entertaining one it was fun one to call they get the W Kirk in a shootout not much to criticize for either these teams on the offensive side what they put on a great show but for the two defenses especially the losing Squad you can't imagine their coach is too happy with their performance well that's going to do it for us and wrap up another outstanding season of college football for K curb
