sure that's all good sounds good looking good we're all ready to go guys and gals let's take a quick preview of today's game so you guys can know what's going on coming up the Astros are back at home for this three- game series against the Arizona Diamond Backs I felt that the Diamond Backs were kind of a a fun team to watch over the past couple of years and I'm always happy when the Astros play them I just think it's a fun matchup and today framber Valdez is going to be back on the mound for the Astros he'll be on the mound right off the bat since the Astros are back in the juice box minute made Park and just to give you a quick overview of the lineup for the Diamond Backs Kettle Marte is going to lead things off followed by Corbin Caroll and Randle Guk the rest of the lineup from there Walker Suarez McCarthy Newman bomo and her for the Astros today let's see who they've got in in the field and behind the plate Jose Altuve is going to be at second base leading the batting off followed by yordon Alvarez Alvarez is playing Left Field today janner Diaz is going to be behind the plate and guess what guys guess who's dhing in the fourth spot Kyle Tucker that's absolutely right I gave you a little preview earlier with the Tucker videos they were showing but Kyle Tucker is back in the lineup for this first game against the Diamondbacks as the DH following Tucker in the fifth slot is paena and then Singleton who's playing first Ben gaml in right field McCormick unfortunately in center field and duah at third base apparently they're giving bregman some more time off kind of disappointed to see McCormick back out in the game in the starting lineup but he did manage to bring his average back up he had dropped down to almost 190 and he managed to get it back up over 200 so good for him at at at the uh I almost said Astro Stadium it is the Astro Stadium minute mate park today they have a special thing going on it's a uh a benefit day a fundraising day they are doing they're they're making cells and doing I don't know if they're doing lotteries but they are selling packages and stuff and that money is supposed to benefit several local charities man some of these are pretty expensive $5,000 for a coopertown charity bag wow pretty expensive stuff right there Astros Foundation Big Love Cancer Care candle lighters sunshine kids Texas Children's Hospital and some others by the way when I was a kid and living in Houston I became very very sick not unlike my recent Illness but the doctors didn't know what it was and they had to send me to some specialists at the Texas Children's Hospital but even they were at a loss as to what to do with me and they told my parents that I should they should prepare preped to just accept that I was not going to make it but somehow I just started getting better and I made it and after that the doctor said your son was so sick he will not grow up to be very tall or very big you know this illness most likely stuned his growth and so he's probably going to be pretty small pretty short well I turned out to be 6'2 and taller than my dad by good 4 in my older brother 2 in shorter than me and in all of the family out of all of my cousins and everybody in the family I was the tallest so it shows you what doctors know they thought I was going to die and they thought I was going to be short and small and they were wrong about everything so I'm dealing with cancer right now and my doctor says that I probably have one to two years left and I should focus on doing what I really want to do and um but who knows what doctors know right what do doctors know we'll see sweet Richard says King Tuck that's right and Pam says hi I'm here pam pam it's so nice to see you I asked about your surgery I didn't see the message until later but I hope it's not a big surgery and I hope it goes smoothly for you please uh check back in and update me because I'd really like to know that you're okay and thank you for sharing that with me I'm an open book about what's going on in my life pretty open and it actually bothers well I should say it bothered because I don't stay in contact with my family anymore just because of stress and uh I just don't like being abused over and over again but they didn't approve of me being so open about myself in my life but what's the point in hiding stuff to keep up an image what image going to forget about that right at least we're going to we're going to learn what we can hopefully the Astros just took away from that series what they could learn and I forgotten about the rest I had a doctor appointment yesterday and I couldn't be here for the game heard we lost yeah yeah we did and uh it it was I'm not sure what was worse you know giving up so many runs in game two or just losing one to nothing on a solo home run in game three I don't know which which one is worse hard to get cardiologist clearance and blood work oh had to get okay yes okay I know all about the uh blood work stuff I have to go every month to have that done and get my new medicine well Valdez is up on the mound guys and we're about ready to start the top of the first everything's set here I've got my images of people x-rayed on the walls and sides of buildings in Hiroshima no that's that's a myth I've heard of people talking about that but that doesn't exist there is uh something in the museum for those of you who don't know in Hiroshima there is a uh peace Park peace Memorial Park and it's right beside the atomic bomb Dome and just within a few minutes walking distance there's a museum and when you go into the museum they take you through well I say they take you through you can walk at your own pace through the entire Museum and they have a a display of many different things pictures and remnants and demonstrations and videos and stuff of uh many things that happened during World War II in Hiroshima and uh they have this one place that supposedly has some steps where somebody was sitting or something and it has some kind of like Blackness or Shadow on or something but it it looks exaggerated to me it and and actually doesn't even look like what it's supposed to be it's just my Full Count double and then yordon striking out looking janner Diaz grounding out on one pitch now we got Runners on first and second Peña fouls that one off opposite field down the first Baseline a nice liner but out of play 0 and two is the count to Peña that's actually how Altuve started off he was able to work the count back to fo and then get a double Altuve at second Tucker at first here comes the O2 pitch to Pena fouled out to the right side and looks like it's going to be out of play broke his Bat on that strike apparently he's going to grab another bat right quick sweeper Sinker and for seam fast ball pretty even amount of variety from Brandon fat three main pitches Jeremy Peña with the O2 count here comes the pitch fouled back again count remains 0 and two 94 miles hour on yordon at bat was the most disappointing of the inning he was the only one to strike out looking on a very obvious very very obvious strike and hitable Pitch so that's unfortunately it for the Astros in the top of the first or rather the bottom of the first we're going to cruise into the second inning all knotted up at goose eggs a score that I've gotten too used to to seeing but the Astros do have the first hit of the game with altuve's double but they waste it the Astros have now left four on base and that basically means that Alvarez had an opportunity to move somebody Diaz had an opportunity to move somebody paa had the opportunity to move two people and they failed all of those opportunities so Astros is already with four chances to move runners or three chances to move four runners and didn't do it it it sucks to get a double on your opening batter your leadoff batter and then it's just nothing after that that's disappointing very very disappointing got about a Baker's fber gets a strike out while while I'm updating you guys on nonsense about my channel okay so I'll get back on it who was that they are talking to somebody right now and I don't know what's going on sliding catch long way over look at that nice catch by Hayward out in right field and that does it out number three Nick Hernandez does a great job for the Astros to come in in the ninth inning and get those last three outs and what a great catch by Hayward to end it look at this nice sliding catch after a long run this is the kind of Astros game that I like to see because the hitting was good the pitching was great well the the hitting was great the pitching was great the defense was great and the Astros worked their butts off to get on base and to move around the bases you couldn't ask for anything more from your team to just show so much care and desire to win that the Astro showed in this first game against the Diamondbacks at home you know they just lost a series versus the Reds it would have been very easy to be demotivated and you're back at home to maybe maybe have some some Road fatigue a little lethargic but they were able to do it my poll about Tucker I'll go ahead and end the poll we'll Tucker get a hit this game the poll results probably not those of you who said probably not yet you were right Tucker did get hit by pitch and a walk but the closest he got to actually getting a hit apart from getting hit was his fly out uh his shallow fly out to center field the Astros win this game8 to nothing and I'm going to give you guys a really quick recap and then I've got to get to my homework let's take a quick look at what the Astros did today great game from brav Valdez went seven complete Innings gave up just two hits and no runs complete shutout for the Astros today and Valdez 14 and six now his erra for this game was Zero just three walks seven strikeouts in the bottom of the second dubon single to left scoring gaml one to nothing Astros in the bottom of the fifth yordon Alvarez hit a three-run homer to right field 407 ft scoring dubon and Altuve four to nothing Astros Altuve single to left field in the bottom of the sixth scoring Meyers five to nothing Astros just after that Alvarez came up and hit another three-run Homer 420 ft scoring dubon and Altuve again making it 8 to nothing Astros and that's where the game would wound up closing at 8 to nothing Astros Astros um improve their record and that is their 40th win at home I think they are 40 and 29 at home this season a huge improvement over their home performance last year so that is is a great news for the Astros to be winning at home again they completely put that to rest the question of whether or not the Astros could win at home it is a distant memory guys who who else is worth mentioning this game besides farber's excellent pitching performance through seven and the Astros excellent batting performance and their tremendous hustle and defense what about the relievers we had Hector nerys come in in the eighth inning and Nick Hernandez say in the ninth inning nerys uh did he had one walk but no hits gave up no runs very important Nick Hernandez came in three up and three down guys with a great catch by Jason Hayward and rightfield to end the inning and in the game excellent performance by our relievers in the eighth and ninth inning uh quick look around the league it looks like the Mariners are going to pull out their win against the Cardinals it's in the top of the N right now and they're leading 5 to one most likely that game is in the bag for the Mariners so the current lead that the Astros have over the Mariners is likely going to remain the angels beat the Rangers 5 to one so that's cool Rangers continue to fall further and further behind but uh let's take a look a quick look at get the standings and I'll let you know what's going on there I wonder if I can pull it up on this screen actually I can I can bring it down to my other screen so you guys can kind of see it here we go AO West right here Astros in first but now I can't see it it's too small on this screen and I don't have my glasses on but the Astros are 76 is that right and 65 it says right now they are five games ahead and technically they are because the Mariners game is not over yet but when the Mariners win in just a few minutes which they likely will this is going to change back to four and a half games so I'm just going to say that the Astros continue to remain four and a half games ahead of the Mariners for now and that's where they stand uh the game tomorrow for the Astros game two versus the Diamond Backs in minute mate Park this game is going to start a little bit earlier about three 3 4 hours earlier 4 hours earlier than today I'm going to have to get up at about 4:30 in the morning to call this game but I will be here tomorrow so no worries and it looks like you say Kikuchi is going to be back on the mound tomorrow looking forward to that he'll be facing Eduardo Rodriguez uh Rodriguez erra his ra is not Stellar it's uh 5.3 is that right I'm going to have to open up another screen on my big screen to see this I don't have my glasses on right now so I can't see the small type my laptop screen is very small so I have to open it up on my big screen so that I can read it properly paste and go okay I can read that much better Rodriguez's ra is 5.33 he's two in one in 25 Innings he's given up 28 hits so he's given up more hits than innings than he's pitched Innings seven walks and four home runs so out of 25 Innings he's allowed 35 Runners to get on for those being homers Kikuchi has been pitching extremely well every game he's pitched for the Astros he's won so looking forward to him having another great performance tomorrow tomorrow's game is another opportunity for the Astros to hit the ball really well Kachi to keep the runs down and them to get a second win in the series so let's look forward to that yordon Alvarez is now leading the Astros in all three categories home runs batting average and you can see it right here and not only that but also runs batted in so he's batting 309 he's got over 30 home runs now this information actually hasn't updated since he had two home runs today he should be at 32 I think and my system is trying to update and his batting average should be over 309 because that's where it was when the game started and 73 RBIs but that should be 79 because he has six more RBIs today yordon just really killing it right now he's coming on strong he's been coming on strong for the past couple of months really pouring it on just when the Astros need it Astros have a 51.4% chance of winning tomorrow according to the matchup pred predictor on ESPN but that's all that
