ON THIS JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY. AND THAT EARLY MORNING POWER OUTAGE HIT AT SFO JUST AS ALASKA AIRLINES RELOCATED SERVICE INTO THE NEWLY RENOVATED HARVEY MILK TERMINAL. >> AS ABC SEVEN NEWS REPORTER LENA HOWLAND IS LIVE FOR US THERE AT SFO. LENA, WE KNOW THE POWER IS BACK ON, BUT PEOPLE THERE STILL CONFUSED. >> HEY THERE. THAT'S RIGHT. THE POWER HAS SINCE BEEN RESTORED HERE. AND REALLY, IT'S KIND OF BUSINESS AS USUAL INSIDE OF ALL OF THE TERMINALS. WE'RE INSIDE OF TERMINAL ONE NOW, WHERE WE CAN SEE A PRETTY STEADY FLOW OF PASSENGERS MAKING THEIR WAY THROUGH THIS PART OF THE AIRPORT. BUT OF COURSE, THIS OUTAGE CAUSED SOME MAJOR CONFUSION AND ALSO DELAYS FOR PASSENGERS. EARLIER THIS MORNING , ESCALATORS STOPPED FLIGHT INFORMATION, DISPLAY SCREENS DOWN AND LINES TO CHECK BAGS AND HEAD THROUGH SECURITY MUCH LONGER THAN YOUR AVERAGE WEDNESDAY OUTSIDE OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON. >> AM I IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE? THAT'S THAT WAS THE FIRST THOUGHT I HAD. >> CHANTEL WALLACE IS HERE FROM SAN ANTONIO, SO SHE KNEW SOMETHING WAS OFF THE MOMENT SHE GOT TO SFO WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE DOOR TO GET INTO THE TERMINAL WAS WAS CLOSED, COMPLETELY CLOSED. >> SO IT JUST THREW ME OFF BECAUSE I THOUGHT, IT'S 7 A.M. THERE SHOULDN'T BE THERE SHOULDN'T BE. EVERYTHING CLOSED. SAN FRANCISCO AIRPORT SFO OFFICIALS SAY A PARTIAL POWER OUTAGE IMPACTED TERMINALS ONE THREE AND THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL. >> IT STARTED AROUND 530 THIS MORNING. AND WHILE THE OUTAGE ONLY LASTED A COUPLE HOURS, THE IMPACTS LASTED MUCH LONGER. ACCORDING TO FLIGHTAWARE, MORE THAN 150 FLIGHTS OUT OF THIS AIRPORT WERE DELAYED BEFORE NOON. >> CAN'T GET NO WORSE THAN THIS. >> KEVIN VON SAW HAD JUST LANDED AFTER AN 11 HOUR FLIGHT FROM KOREA. THE CHECKPOINT FOR THE IMMIGRATION WAS CURRENTLY THE POWER OUTAGE, SO THEY HAVE THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE STAYED ON THE PLANE, HE SAID. THE OUTAGE IN CUSTOMS FORCED PASSENGERS ON HIS FLIGHT TO WAIT ON THE PLANE FOR ABOUT 90 MINUTES. >> AT LEAST. THE AIR WAS ON, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING REALLY TO DO. I COULDN'T CONNECT TO THE INTERNET OR ANYTHING, SO IT WAS HARD TO REACH FAMILY MEMBERS AND STUFF. SO, WHAT I DID, I JUST SLEPT. >> LUCKY FOR HIM, HE HAD A 15 HOUR LAYOVER TO MAKE HIS FLIGHT HOME TO MINNEAPOLIS. AND A SPOKESPERSON FOR SFO SAYS A GROUND STOP AT AROUND 530 THIS MORNING WAS RELATED TO THEIR CLOSED RUNWAY FOR CONSTRUCTION. THEY DID SAY THAT THEIR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER NEVER LOST
