AREA AT PARK TAVERN, KILLING TWO PEOPLE AND INJURING THREE OTHERS. OUR BILL KELLER, HE'S LIVE IN SAINT LOUIS PARK. THIS MORNING WITH WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR. AND, BILL, I KNOW YOU'VE LEARNED SOME NEW INFORMATION. GOOD MORNING. YEAH, WE'RE LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE VICTIMS. TOM. THE BIG QUESTION, OF COURSE, IS WHY THIS HAPPENED THIS MORNING AT PARK TAVERN. EMPLOYEE DID SET UP THIS MEMORIAL AS A TRIBUTE TO THE VICTIMS OF SUNDAY'S CRASH. NOW, OVER THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS, WE HAVE SEEN A NUMBER OF PEOPLE STOPPING BY TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS. AND OFTEN THE DISTANCE YOU CAN STILL SEE THAT PILE OF MANGLED PATIO FURNITURE, AND YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE KIND OF CHAOS THAT MUST HAVE ENSUED AS THOSE CUSTOMERS, THOSE SHOCKED CUSTOMERS, WERE SENT SCRAMBLING FOR SAFETY AS FIVE PEOPLE TOOK A DIRECT HIT. THIS HAPPENED JUST AFTER 8:00 LAST NIGHT, WHILE PATRONS AT PARK TAVERN WERE ENJOYING A LONG THREE DAY WEEKEND. THE POPULAR BOWLING ALLEY AND RESTAURANT IS LOCATED ON LOUISIANA AVENUE. THAT'S JUST NORTH OF HIGHWAY SEVEN. POLICE SAY SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE SHOWS THE SUSPECT'S VEHICLE ENTERING THE PARKING LOT, BUT THE DRIVER NEVER WENT INSIDE. INSTEAD, THEY SAY HE ATTEMPTED TO PARK HIS CAR BEFORE DRIVING RIGHT INTO THE OUTDOOR PATIO, KILLING TWO PEOPLE AND INJURING THREE OTHERS. POLICE SAY THE MALE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED AT THE SCENE, NOW FACING CHARGES OF CRIMINAL VEHICULAR HOMICIDE. WHILE THE NAMES OF THE VICTIMS HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED, A PARK TAVERN OWNER SAYS SHE WAS TOLD ONE OF THOSE KILLED WORKED AS A SERVER AND WAS A MOTHER OF THREE. I WANT TO KNOW, YOU KNOW, REALLY WHY THIS HAPPENED AND YOU KNOW, AND WHAT WAS HE THINKING? WHOEVER DID THIS, I JUST DON'T GET IT. I'M SORRY. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. AND FOR THREE LITTLE GIRLS RIGHT NOW. WHAT A MOM. OH, MY GOD, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. WE'RE TOLD THE FOUR OTHER VICTIMS ALL WORKED IN THE ICU AT METHODIST HOSPITAL. ONE MAN WAS KILLED, ANOTHER MAN AND TWO WOMEN CRITICALLY INJURED. THEY WERE CELEBRATING ONE OF THEIR COWORKERS LAST SHIFTS WHEN THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED. THEY WERE GREAT FRIENDS AND I'VE, YOU KNOW, KNOWN THEM SINCE. SINCE THEY SINCE THEY STARTED ON OUR ON OUR UNIT SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE AND SEEING THEIR FACES EVERY DAY, IT WAS A IT'S PART OF WHY YOU COME TO WORK EVERY DAY. IN A POST ON HIS FACEBOOK PAGE, PARK TAVERN SAID, QUOTE, FOLLOWING THE TRAGIC INCIDENT ON OUR PATIO SUNDAY NIGHT. PARK TAVERN WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE AS WE SUPPORT AND CARE FOR OUR STAFF AND NEIGHBORS. THE POST GOES ON TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND THE KINDNESS DURING THIS INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TIME. THE BIG QUESTION IS WHY SOMEONE WOULD DRIVE INTO A CROWDED PATIO. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, WHAT WHAT LED TO IT, BUT, BUT, YOU KNOW, IF THERE WAS ANY, ANY MALFEASANCE, YOU JUST PRAY THAT JUSTICE IS SERVE. YEAH. IT'S STILL UNCLEAR WHETHER THIS WAS INTENTIONAL OR SOME KIND OF FREAK ACCIDENT. ALSO UNKNOWN IF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WERE INVOLVED. THE STATE PATROL WAS HERE WITH A DRONE TAKING SOME ADDITIONAL, MEASUREMENTS AND INVESTIGATION TECHNIQUES. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE EXPECT TO LEARN IN THE COMING DAYS. THE WHY? AND GIVEN THE HOLIDAY, THOUGH, IT'S STILL UNCLEAR EXACTLY WHEN THOSE FORMAL CHARGES WILL BE FILED. TOM. RIGHT.
