hi Michelle how are you I'm well how are you Rachel I'm doing great to start you went from you know being a detective to then be getting to be a criminal in the span of this one year yeah because a Vine and now you're criminal F how for you is it been kind of getting to play all these different characters because like I you know I grew up watching like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and you and those kind of movies and now you're doing these weird fun Side characters and stuff yeah it's you know what this is this is my dream I mean honestly ly you know this is this is what I signed up to do uh I I love getting to explore all these different genres and working with these incredible filmmakers showrunners uh at this stage in my career I've been doing it for so long I think what really appealed to me about getting to to dive into Bad Monkey was obviously having the opportunity to work with a comedic genius such as Bill Lawrence and Vince Fawn but I hadn't done comedy in quite some time um and as you know as you mentioned you know that was kind of initially where I started in my career the Kiss Kiss Bang bangs some romantic comedies and you know I'd kind of moved away from all of that all of that over the years and I was really excited to revisit comedy and to get it and get to do it with the best of you know the best people out there and how is it kind of doing that bill Lawrence comedy because it's like it has such a heart to it but it also is like a lot of the times when you're these things yeah I think it I I think it's more complicated than it than it seems I mean it's really nuanced and I think what he does so well is that he he really threads the needle between um like satire and and and sarcasm um and sincerity and you know I think that's actually really hard to really hard to nail and so I was really excited to take a stab at it and he's so great having on set because he really just understands that tone so very very well and he loves to have fun he loves to play he loves to improv so when you're actually in the company of a of a great writer and showrunner like that uh you kind of get the words that are there on the page that they've written and then he's like let's play and you're like okay let's play holy what are we gonna do you know and it's just so fun and it's just a very liberating way to work well how does it how does playing the ex-girlfriend and kind of like how do you approach a character like that because she's not the love interest she's not just gets to kind of be you know you know what I think is great is that I think that Bonnie wit doesn't really consider herself the ex-girlfriend I think that she is just she's so much trouble she just thinks he she'll forever be Andrew Yan's girlfriend he'll have women come and go in his life but she'll always always be there and I love that about her she's like I have that delusion and I'm nailed it she's quite delusional as you can see and that was a very fun aspect and very you know she's got a lot of delusional qualities which I love about her it's so much fun to watch and have how was it like getting to bounce back and forth up of like someone like Vince Von who wow I grew up watching those comedies his voice sayings are laugh bra Point you're so right it is so fast it's he's so fast and he's so quick he's so smart he's such a smart person he's just such a smart actor and uh and he's so funny it's honestly hard not to laugh like hard not to break because he's so so um he's so so serious when he says the things that are just so so funny and then you just have to keep you have just keep rolling with it uh and he's somebody that he he likes to play a lot like I think like one of my favorite s s of him always is like let's play and you're like okay if he's just decided to play that means like we're not going to say any of the words that are on the page and we we're just going to roll we're just going to do it and uh and that's that's a really fearful place to be in creatively but also as I said earlier it's really really liberating because when you're working with people as as talented as him um they'll never leave you hanging uh they're just they're really smart and bright and and just funny I came for when you get to see the show it always makes me so happy when you pop up in something like and I love her thank you for talking with me today I really appreciate it you too thank you Rachel have a great great afternoon well bye
