Thank you. Well, today is day two of this heat wave. As Sean mentioned that heat advisory in effect gonna stay in effect until about nine o'clock tonight. Our Karen Campbell is live downtown and we check in with her. Now, now, now Karen, you actually spoke with I MP D officers doing what they can today, what you find. Yeah, uh Felicia and Dustin, you know, before we get into that part of our story, I just want to explain, you know, to the viewers, this heat is just simply unforgiving and it is straight up brutal out here, which is why I'm holding this notebook, you know, over my head to uh kind of shield me from the direct sunlight shade is where you definitely want to be. And yes, we did meet up with I MP D officers, they're with the homeless unit team and uh we kind of follow them around the city because they wanted to change on those who were the most vulnerable. Now, I mentioned the team that, you know, drives around the city, they check on those who are homeless without a home in especially in extreme conditions like we have today they offered bottled water. They also check for signs of heat exhaustion or other heat related illnesses and just made sure that they were doing ok and that they did not need any kind of medical assistance. They also encourage them to take advantage of resources in the city. Take a listen. People living on the street are, they don't have air conditioning. They can run into and cool off quickly. Right. They're in at 24 hours and they don't have enough water on them. They don't have, uh, a resource to get water and you can become dehydrated really quick and not even realize it. Yeah. And officer Smiley, he also tells us that he went through EMT school and says he and other officers can recognize the signs of someone needing help just by speaking with them. Now, we also want to mention for those viewers who are watching, looking for a place to stay cool. We know that in the parks has opened several cooling centers. They do stay open until I believe about eight o'clock tonight. You'll want to double check those times for centers around the city. We'll put that information on our website for you to view. But again, guys, you know, this heat and those without a home, it is just brutal out here for them today. So bottled water, anything that you can think of if you see someone, you know who is in need of help, I mean, something as simple as small as a cold and ice, cold bottle of water can really, really help keep your eyes out for those in need. It's serious stuff. All right, Karen, you go ahead and get some shade, get you some water. Thank you so much.
