$2 Paris Olympic 3 Coin Collection & Paralympic Coin on Card from the Royal Australia Mint

Intro [Music] hey coin collectors Dan the collecting man here today I'm going to talk about these two new releases that I finally obtained from the Ry straight me this is the three coin set $2 colored version and we've also got the Paralympics one coin that's come out this one's uh a limited edition version so I thought i' go through these coins and what's difference about these coins versus the ones that are going into circulation cuz there is a slight little bit of difference between the two of them so Australian Olympic Team - Three-Coin Collection let's start with probably the one that's uh a little bit more popular in some regards is these three coin sets from the Olympics so I like it's got uh the key slogan along here I like it how it's got Paris on the front with the Australian animals I think it's a nice good look and the material of the actual cardboard is pretty good as well it's not uh too flims or anything else so it's not a bad little set from a quality point of view so kind of similar to what we've had in the past but a nice green and gold kind of Australian Ecentric color so we've got three key coins uh that we've seen uh so far so they're two that have been released into circulation so obviously you got the first one which is the community that is the one with the Australian logo Olympic logo in the middle the next one is the one that we just got released last last week this is with the break dancing kangaroo uh with that uh little chant down the bottom and then the one we're expecting to see next week into circulation is this one here uh this is the boxing kangaro uh going through Paris with the the Beret on the head so a pretty cool three coin set so shout out if you got those this was at a good reasonable price of $20 still available so it's an unlimited mintage of this so that's a key thing to note that there is no Max mintage you can get them from Australian post or the Royal stray mint so I ended up getting it from the Royal stray mint so it took me a good least three plus weeks to get it but at least I've got it now which is not too bad uh given that sometimes it takes them a little bit longer to send Coins on card V Coins from till them out so let's have a look at these versus the actual ones that have been into circulation so on the face of it they look pretty similar so the actual design it's self is very similar as you can see here if I can get them all lined up nicely um so they look reasonably see B but what we'll do is have looking at the quality of the coin itself so you'll find with these circulations there's going to be a lot of scratches into the paint and you'll also find that the actual fittish of the coins just aren't as nice so when we look at uh the king fig on the obverse there going to be a lot more scratches and dents and all that kind of stuff so it's going to be harder to get a nice quality you can definitely see it there in the lighting see that kind of quality on the back of the coin um how it's really come up pretty poorly there so you can definitely see it under that light that's what we come to expect when it comes to these coins here where these ones I'm going to try and take this out actually so we can have a a better look at it so this is what it looks like underneath you can see here on the back you'll find a much better nicer finish so I can actually lift these carefully and have a look at it you can see the Finish difference is a lot better it does have a little bit of a scuff marks through it but the key thing for me to note is the paint work that you get a lot better fish you don't get as much missing paint and that's the thing that you want like this one here doesn't look like it's missing any paint at all it's absolutely spot on and these ones here I can hardly find any points where the paints really be missing when it comes to the coins itself so they look a lot better when it comes to Quality so these are defined as uncir ated finishes uh so they do give you that slightly unique better quality finish where obviously with the circulat one even though these came straight out of a bag straight into my hand pretty much from the Mt uh just the quality and the way they make them uh is slightly different so you don't get that defined really good imperfection so that's why I think having these ones are the ones you're going to want the most so let's put it under microscope just for a little bit of a fun just to show you the difference and how it also looks uh from a closeup point point of view so I'll start with one of these ones here this is just the one that's been going around into circulation and we'll have a look at this under the microscope so I'll bring it here into view here and we can have a Coin under Micro Scope a little bit of a look uh under there and you can see already with a paint the way it actually kind of looks as a closeup point of view you can really see where the bridges of the actual design step up and it kind of misses the paint where it's rubbed up against another coin you can really kind of just start to see it there a little bit it definitely um doesn't look as nice from a a quality standpoint so you can definitely see how the design so it looks very different when you look at it under this light and how the design actually stands out compared to looking at at close like this so if we can get the focus back there we go you can see it there so a little different so let's have a look at it now with one of these ones and see how good of a finish look we can get so there you can see the difference where we've got a nice clean spread of that kind of paint going all around it yes there's a little bit of a glare there but you can see from a paint point of view it's there's not one little blemish at all on that one so it's definitely comes up a lot nicer when it comes to the difference in the fittish so that's why these ones I think for me are pretty good uh and collectible and I think to add to these is Australia has done so well when it comes to these Commonwealth Games I mean we are third on the table and quite comfortably third on the table so we started off pretty well I think we'll top at the start but given that we've only got China and the US two of the biggest countries in the world above us and we're beating the hometown France uh quite comfortably I think uh we've got to be pretty proud of ourselves as Australians uh the way we've gone so Australian Paralympic Team - One-Coin Collection next we've got the par Olympic coin so this one obviously the par Olympics start a little bit later so we got here from the 28th of August to the 8th of September uh definitely a pretty cool design as well so obviously got uh Lizzy there that's the name of the character within the coin uh she's one of the key characters there and she's obviously on the front having a look at that uh with the key logos I think that one's a pretty good one now this one is limited to around 50,000 so a lot lower Mage for this one I'm not sure what the Mage will be into circulation but in this format it'll be around 50,000 in the uncirculated condition so I think this one is definitely a keeper I've seen some people trying to sell it for 100 bucks which is way too much uh but I think predominantly this they retailed initially at $8 and I think I've see some for around $12 so there's a little bit of a a smaller price index so don't pay 100 bus dollars for these uh I don't think they're ever going to be that collectible from that point of view given that they will have some of these going into circulation you probably see about a million of them going into circulation at my guess and so that will be in about 3 weeks time roughly when the par Olympic coins go into circulation so I've obviously had both of these $1 coins that have come out as well so there it's been a pretty good bit of fun set now another bit of news Stolen Bluey $1 Coin that's come out in the last week which is a bit of bit of fun for the coin world is these blue coins that have come out to found that they were actually stolen so some of these someone had stole them from a warehouse in Sydney and I think there was uh 80,000 or 70 60 something th000 of these were stolen and then put it into eBay and then sold and then they're now into General circulation so they they will be coming out in tubes uh just like we had the NRL and the AFL so out the Australian post which I think is good cuz that means the kids can get them all at once they can buy a set hopefully the Mage is pretty high so that way all the kids have the opportunity to get them I'm definitely going to get them for my kids uh cuz that'll be fun to put all the different type of Bluey coins together and really get the kids excited about collecting coins so definitely pretty cool but I think these ones are going to become very collectible because these are stolen coins so kind of makes a little bit more of a story and a history around it and be pretty cool if blue make an episode around it so reach out if you saw them on eBay like I did I saw them and initially I thought they were fake cuz there was no communication around the coins themselves so I was a bit worried when I bought them but I thought maybe somehow they've got released like I'm already seeing the blue these coins the rolls and the silver coin on eBay is pre-sales and it's not going to be to the 3rd of September when they release so somehow people are getting access to the information and getting it early so you can just never trust some of these people how they're actually getting it so cheuck in the comments below if you know anyone that's getting it early or how you think people are somehow obtaining apart from stealing it like this one guy did uh obviously he stole it and he's been caught out uh pretty hard for that and I'll be facing a bit of time in jail so hopefully you enjoy this video Outro and give us a thumbs up if you like that
