OMAHA PERFORMING ARTS IS UPCOMING SEASON OF VOICES AMPLIFIED PROMISES TO BE A POWERFUL CELEBRATION OF DIVERSE ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS. AND HERE TO TELL US ALL ABOUT IT. AARON GREGORY AND ANDY CASSANO. SO I HEAR THE BIG SCHEDULE REVEAL IS TOMORROW, BUT PUTTING YOU BOTH ON THE SPOT, CAN YOU GIVE US A LITTLE SNEAK PEEK TODAY? ABSOLUTELY. SO THIS SEASON WE ARE GOING TO BE ELEVATING VOICES WITH DISABILITIES, HIGHLIGHTING ALL INCLUSIVE ABLED BODIES AND DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES, AS WELL AS HIGHLIGHTING PAST VOICES, BLACK VOICES, ASIAN AMERICAN VOICES, AND LATINO VOICES. AND THAT KIND OF GOES ALONG WITH THE THEME THAT YOU WERE JUST TELLING ME ABOUT, ANDY, OF BUILDING OFF EACH YEAR, NOT JUST THIS BEING A ONE AND DONE KIND OF THING, BUT YOU KNOW, BUILDING OFF, WE STARTED WITH ELEVATING BLACK VOICES MORE THAN FIVE YEARS AGO. AND THIS BEING OUR FIFTH SEASON, AND EACH YEAR WE KEEP ADDING TO THE CONVERSATION OF OTHER MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES. BUT WE STILL HAVE ONGOING CONVERSATIONS WITH BLACK, LATINO, HISPANIC AND ASIAN AMERICAN VOICES. SO FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER SEEN OR EXPERIENCED THE VOICES AMPLIFIED SERIES, CAN YOU JUST SIMPLY EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING OUT THERE? HEARING THESE DIFFERENT VOICES, AND HOW THAT MAY SHIFT YOUR PERSPECTIVE? WELL, ABSOLUTELY. THE VOICES AMPLIFIED PROGRAM WAS LITERALLY CREATED TO CONNECT CULTURES AND CREATE OPPORTUNITIES. SO WE HAVE A LOT OF PROGRAMING THAT HAPPENS DOWNTOWN IN OUR CAMPUS. BUT VOICES AMPLIFIED TAKES US OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY AND CONNECTS US WITH OUR PARTNERS IN THESE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES. AND IS THERE A KEY FOCUS? YOU KNOW, EACH YEAR, AGAIN, VOICES OF DISABLED PEOPLE THAT WE'RE GOING TO HEAR FROM THIS YEAR IS IS THERE MORE OF A FOCUS GOING ON TOP OF THAT AS WELL, OR IS THAT KIND OF THE THE KEY FOCUS FOR THIS YEAR? SO WE'VE GOT ABOUT 14 EVENTS THAT ARE GOING TO BE HAPPENING OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. AND THEY WILL DO THEY WILL FEATURE DIFFERENT VOICES. WHAT WE'RE DOING WITH THE FEATURE VOICE THIS YEAR IS HAVING AN ELEVATED NUMBER OF EVENTS THAT WILL HAPPEN. SO OF THOSE 144 EVENTS, MORE THN SIX OF THEM WILL BE FOCUSED ON DIFFERENT VOICES WITH DIFFERENT DISABILITIES FROM BLIND AND LOW VISION DEAF AND HEARING IMPAIRED, NEURODIVERGENT MOBILITY CHALLENGED A WHOLE SPECTRUM OF DIFFERENT THINGS THAT WILL BE ELEVATING SO REAL QUICK HERE, HOW CAN THE COMMUNITY GET INVOLVED WITH PARTICIPATING? BUT WHERE CAN THEY LEARN MORE INFORMATION AND MAYBE GET HANDS ON TOO, IF THEY'D LIKE TO VOLUNTEER OR HELP OUT MORE?
