Madden football brings you the divisional round of the NFL playoffs and is brought to you by EA Sports It's the Eagles and the lions on Sunday night this lion fan base have been craving home playoff football since this building opened in 2002 and they've got it today at Ford Field in Detroit just ahead we'll decide the second entrance to next week's NFC title game and we've got a great one in store as it'll be the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Detroit Lions along with Charles Davis I'm Brandon gard and Charles we look at this Lions team entering play it's been a good season for them so far they're just looking to keep that momentum going forward they like their record now they want to increase it a win here could really get the momentum going in the right direction meanwhile for our visitors the Eagles and this is what every one of these guys waits for and final ticket to the conference Championship round we'll know soon enough as we are underway here on a January afternoon and up to about the 26 yd line just across the 25 so here are the Lions now coming out for their opening drive they'll be led out by the first overall selection of the 2016 draft from Cal it's Jared G and it wasn't really his best performance of the year in the Wild Card rout last week he just had the one touchdown pass but he got the job done and his team Advanced for them to continue on to the championship round though I he's going to need to take a few more chances with the ball down field push it a little bit more and make sure his team Finds Its way into the end zone a few more times oh this one incomplete the pressure got to him as he released it and it's second [Applause] down out of the gun G Eagle pressure too much this time down he goes multiple players for their opening drive this is third and [Music] [Applause] long here's G that throw taken in by Jameson Williams it'll be a gain of 17 but even with that they'll be well short here for fourth down I don't know how many times not just in my playing career but you and I working together have we ever heard a coach say you know I just don't have that play on my call sheet and that's really what we had here that was a big hole they were trying to get out of yeah big gain still a play to go though Phillies offense getting ready and jayen Herz ready to lead them the second touchdown pass in the last game and he'd have to imagine his head coach would sign up for that right now that's caugh by the big tight end Dallas gard and they're going to get this beyond the 40 before he's taken down one play has him up past the 40 already and another first and [Applause] 10 they run with a dangerous saquin Barkley he had to fight that time ran through one tackle But ultimately he's only going to get back to the line of scrimmage here's second and 10 they'll go to Barkley again and some Nifty running here as he'll take this across Midfield and down to the 47 it's an eagles first down on a gain of 11 from the gun it's hers over the middle brought in by doson and he is tackled inside the 40 not quite to the 35 so from the 36 now first and [Applause] 10 here's Herz to throw out route pass complete to gard and inside the 20 before he's brought down so here's a first and 10 now down inside the 20 throwing is hers got him in it's brown give him two yards there on the completion at it's second [Applause] down it's an eighty pickup and it leads to a first and goal looked like a pretty smart decision that time to keep the football by the quarterback it was because you saw how the runner got swarmed so you've got to pull the ball from his arms keep it yourself and get what you can and both underrated player on this play is the running back because even if he doesn't have the ball he has to act like he does in order to attract the defense and he's got it and he takes this down to about the two before going out of bounds good yardage on first down now can they punch it in on second and goal her sets up to throw it toward the end zone but that's going to wind up incomplete Chan are good he's going to be a very busy guy two catches already in this opening drive and they were looking his way for a third I think they put this defense on notice that that could be a really really frequent combination Barkley is Into The End Zone touchdown Philadelphia so both sides of the football contributing here early their defense forces the punt then the offense takes it down the field and punches it in on the short touchdown run and Brandon that's good complimentary football and that's what they're going to need if they want to get out of here Victorious on for the extra point Jake Elliot he's got it and the Eagles lead at seven zip so that one a pretty timec consuming 10-play drive and it's capped off by a touchdown run from Squan Barkley now after the touchdown here's Elliot on to kick it away and out a little across the 25 to the 27 it back onto the field come the Lions for their second overall drive and they'll certainly be trying to do better than that first drive where they went three and out and sometimes the first drive is just simply to settle nerves you know what it's like at the start of a game with the emotion guys a little bit jumpy oh you you understand the same way just like us calling one right making sure we ease into the game let it come to us you and now they have that opportunity no you didn't go three and out I went three and out on that first drive I'll try to do better here the big play to start him out has him at the 45 already they'll Run for the first time with a Speedster jir Gibbs and he is going to be stopped cold behind the line are putting together a team a lot of them say we're going to build from the inside out because if you control the line of scrimmage you control the rest of the ball game and that's what we're seeing here they're actually playing in the offense's backfield not necessarily just playing at the line of scrimmage here now a third down and eight G and that is incomplete but the pressure there on third down forcing the errant pass fourth down coming up they're bringing a lot of pressure here already in the first quarter already sacked him once now they get in there and knock another one away you think maybe that Tuck Rule being gone makes defenses a lot Bolder yes indeed that time lucky that the arm was going forward incomplete pass the Eagles offense set to begin their next Drive they'll be looking to duplicate that first drive the one that got him that seven nothing lead of course they would and look they're on the road so getting the seven to nothing lead was huge for them right imagine getting up two touchdowns on the road taking the crowd out of the game would be ideal herds throw left side complete that's brown that'll leave a with a third and two coming up they got eight yds there they'll come to the line needing only two yds to gain the first here throwing from the gun it's herds he's going to get that to his running back out of the back field and he is going to have an eagles first down as they're able to get the third down [Applause] conversion out of the the shotgun they run with Barkley and he will lose yardage here to the 31 yd line officially it's a one yd loss that's going to bring up second and [Applause] 11 again it's Barkley and he'll fight for a couple as the tackle is made at about the 32 third and nine here they'll drop to [Applause] throw and this almost intercepted not sure he saw the free safety that time but lucky incomplete that'll bring up fourth down out now is the punter Braden man back deep khif Raymond and no return on this one as the fair catch is signal for and takeen they call it 38 yds on the punt no return and the lions will take over GF and this Lions offense set for a first and 10 at their own 27 they'll come out throwing here to start the drive into the hands of Williams across the formation and he'll be taken down but not before they reach the 50 23 from the 50 it's gone that's into the hands of khif Raymond and he's going to be out of bounds but not before he takes it inside the 40 backto back good plays have them on the move on first [Applause] down St Brown in motion right on First and 10 here's Gibbs and he'll take this down to the 33 I feel like I could see what he was thinking on that carry wanted to follow that big tackle through the hole ended up only getting four yards on the carry I think he had designs on that one being bigger second down and they go back to Gibbs and he'll fight forward maybe to the line of scrimmage but that's all they'll say no gain on the play there and now it'll be third down they'll need five on this play to move the [Music] [Applause] sticks gof now looking to throw pass taken in by his big tight end and he is going to have all Lions first down as they're able to get the third down [Applause] conversion they'll fake the handoff now G and this one almost intercepted had a chance to come down with it in the end zone but could not hang on second and 10 from the gun here's [Music] gone that pass caught it's Williams and able to get him down but he does reach the five 19 yds on the pickup there and now they'll have it first and goal it's all pretty simple sometimes isn't it go where the Defenders are not and he does exactly that makes a nice catch to move the chains defense got to find a better way of accounting for the shorter routes that are being run against them after one seven nothing on EA Sports as they go to work on a first and goal throwing again is gone looking in zone but it's incomplete down this close to the goal line first down surprised that wasn't a run I am and you know I'm old school I want to run the ball on first down in this situation because second down that gives me that option of running play action and maybe throwing it Gibb Straight Ahead he gets him a little bit close he takes it from the six inside the five to the four a big one coming in this divisional round playoff third and goal G to the goal line but it's incomplete as expected he's gone to him several times in this game but that's the first time one has slipped from his grasp I'll bet he goes back to him though he's an excellent player [Applause] and his kick is right there it's good so a long drive gets him down inside the five but ultimately they settle for just the field go and I have to think that if maybe they were a yard closer that would have made their decision tougher and I think they likely would have gone for it but in this situation they just decided to take the three and I think it was a smart move and he'll take it up past the 25 to the 26 yd line Philadelphia getting set to take the field no points left last time out they were forced to punt if you remember but no time to dwell on that they've still got the lead here and a chance to add to that here first and 10 as this new Drive starts they'll come out throwing here on first down oh and that is incomplete as his old brain remembers when I see five wide receivers on the field as a Defender I know the ball's coming out high they expected it and got there and popped it free [Applause] to throw once more on second and 10 hers this pass hold in by doson five yds now it's third and five they'll look to throw here that is caught and he has has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped a first down and then some give him 29 yds I don't care how many times we see it I still get a kick out of watching quarterbacks and receivers do the pass Tree in pregame warm-up but I always remember that when we go to practices we see that after practices as well they really tune it up don't they they tune it up they know why they do it for these situations first down and they build that trust and that's why they're able to find him in this type of a situation this one goes out wide for Barkley and he works it past the 30 almost to the [Applause] 25 they'll stick with the passing game as he looks to throw they get him to the ground right on the cusp of the Red Zone after a pick up of five or six this second and four back to throw again he delivers another to Gard complete and Gard going to have an eagles first down as he's down to the 12 again he'll drop to throw open man is G the tight end and he'll work free from one tackle but that's about all as he's taken down the result only four yds there on the play and that'll bring up second down here's Herz to throw oh he'll want that one back incomplete he doesn't drop too many in that department third down they are in need of six yards here if they hope to move the chains they'll look to throw again and it's intercepted at the goal line Jack Campbell with a pick and the lions are going to take over at their own 2yd Line's offense ready to take over they take over here following the interception that's the good news the tough spot is the spot that they're in that's inside the five in the shadow of their own goal post here first and 10 and he'll find a little space he gets this up near the 10 second down and three [Applause] back to throw G that's to the tight end Lea and he's brought down but not before they get it across the 20 yd [Applause] line in motion goes the tight end now G throw left side caught by L Porter and they're able to get this one across the 30 this Duo locked in 14 yds there and a first [Applause] down now it's gone and this one nearly picked off kind of surprising to see defender of his caliber let it get away but get away it does and it's second down [Applause] throw caught by Raymond and that'll be good for eight yds to the 45 the offense on third down they've only converted once in four tries here it's third and two Gibbs will try and pick it up a three yd gain and enough for the first down haven't met a football team yet that runs the ball successfully that doesn't talk about having an attitude to be a running football team right you got to be able to put your nose in there smell where the first down sticks are and get there to throw is gone and his throw is going to be incomplete well he's smart enough to avoid the taunting rule but I'll guarantee he quietly has told them you might want to stop coming after me down field because I just broke up another pass and took away a big shot that you were trying to succeed [Applause] with pressure comes and down he goes so now following the sack Goten the Lions needing to come up with something here on Third and long now on Third and long they'll look to throw setting up to screen this is Gibbs and able to use the stiff arm to gain leverage initially but not much room thereafter three yds all they could muster there and it'll bring up fourth down here's Jack fox [Applause] now he's been a busy man here in the this first half as he gets it away here's Smith to return it it's a 43 yd punt a return of five and it will be Eagles football first and 10 here's the Philadelphia offensive unit now as they head out to take over possession and a close game like this Charles those interceptions like they had on the last Drive could be costly but here they've got another opportunity to seize control of this game and they'd better take advantage of it because otherwise if they end up losing by one score they'll relive this over and over and over until they have another opportunity to wipe it away throwing is herds nowhere to go here he lost the football and this is scooped up by the Lions and he's got his guys take care of the ball take care of the ball take care of the ball because here come the Defenders [Applause] [Music] following the fumble recovery g under a heavy rush and down he goes Devin white defeating the offensive line and getting to the quarterback sacks a growing theme in this first half this is second and long they'll send a receiver in motion to the right throwing on second and long gof and that'll be caught by St Brown a nice job to get 11 out of that pass play but now they face a third and [Applause] goal gof now looks to throw to the end zone but it's incomplete fourth down now looming after Philly's defense Stands Tall in coverage whether that's a little grabbing a little hand Fighting by any means necessary on third down he was able to get the job done in the secondary and SWAT that one away and his kick is indeed good and they'll get it back within a point at seven to six so the fumble recovery we had them set up an ideal field position but they can muster only three points out of it yeah when you're able to force turnovers especially when it results in field position like they had you really want to make it hurt here they take the field goal that's definitely not what they were hoping for and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30yd line the Eagles just about set to go to work on offense and last time they coughed it up led to a field goal they're fortunate that it only led to a field goal but still they're not happy about it could you sense the relief though when they only gave up the field goal and they were able to Trop back out on the field and start this drive a little more pep in their step because they didn't cost their team a touchdown but they know they've got to do it a lot better than they did on the last possession the coach will just be relieved though if they recp with a score here right I think coach would be ecstatic to see them pick themselves back up and now Tak it down field punching The End Zone without turning it over they'll wind up getting seven on the play and now one yd to go on third down second quarter action two minutes to go on divisional round weekend one thing you're hoping for when you run drag routes you're able to hit a receiver in stride and he can pick up a lot of yardage after the catch but in this situation the defense was effective able to stop him before he could get a good head of steam going and that is incomplete but a penalty flag coming in this could be a first [Applause] down after the penalty a fresh set of downs it's first and 10 her sets up to throw it gets this out to saquan Barkley a beautiful fake and he is out of bounds but not before he's inside the 30 the extra effort after the catch makes it good for a gain of 26 and also a first down a lot of times the key is just get him the ball and let him do his thing and they got it out to him on the left side and he did exactly that excellent run after the [Applause] catch herds throwing over the middle but it's incomplete I think he's got to be careful not to force anything into coverage right there there weren't really any throwing Lanes but the best part for him he's got second and third down to fall back on to throw on second and 10 hers this short throw caught by gard and he'll be out of bounds about a half to a full yard shy of the five the end result 21 yds and this was a nice example of an offensive coordinator beaming his guy open just a little underneath route just trying to free up some space and it worked awfully well got him not just space but plenty of room to run after the catch to pick up really nice yardage two of their three Red Zone trips so far they've come up empty on they'll look to reverse that trend on second and goal they'll set up to throw open man he's got him that's Smith for the Philadelphia touchdown it's a 6yd touchdown that's what they're trying to look at to see if it all comes together so they called it a touchdown originally and this will stay a touchdown after the video review so they had it right Elliot good on the extra point and the lead is up to eight so that winds up a seven playay drive all told and it was finished off by a touchdown from Devonte Smith now after the touchdown here's Elliot on to kick it away and it's a pretty good return here as he'll get this up to the 29 so here come the Lions now their Drive last time it's stalled out they were forced to take the short field goal and the key phrase you nailed it forced to because you know coaches look at these short field goals as a last resort right to them that's not how drives are supposed to end you're supposed to put six on the board that's a consolation prize like going to the county fair you don't get a big stuffed animal on that one do you no you don't go top shelf that's bottom shelf material gof now looking to throw open man right side is St Brown and he goes out right around the 39 so from the 39 now they'll come up on a first and 10 here's G open man is Raymond he's got it and able to break one tackle but then quickly brought down but a nice little gain again gof able to hook up with Williams here on the out rout and he has another first down as they'll get [Applause] the here's G over the middle and it's incomplete and not a common sight at least on this drive a momentary setback though for this passing game that has been moving well this series good thing for them though still two more Downs to connect and try and pick up another first [Music] down looking left side him he's got a in that's Gibbs the Lions now going to use the second of their timeouts as the clock stops here with 46 seconds remaining in the first half so the ball down to the 16 here for first and 10 in motion goes Raymond go throwing again he stiff arms him got St Brown running the quick slant here it'll be a gain of five and it'll be second [Applause] down here's [Music] G and it's caught and the lions are going to be set up with a first and goal on a pass play forward out of the gun G and that will be incomplete with a clock down now to 13 seconds three Red Zone trips have yielded just two field goals for them to this point so they'll be searching for something more on second and goal here to the air again G nothing open downfield so he'll throw it away I'm really liking what I'm seeing from this defense because their coverage has been playing at a shut down level so far even backed up late they're forcing incompletions and fighting to keep them out of the end zone as the first half winds down looking in zone but it's incomplete fourth down now looming after Philly's defense Stands Tall in coverage so it's been a long drive they've held the ball for quite a while now what do you do here well to me at this stage after this drive this close to the goal line three points would be a let down I'm going for it here so three points on the board as easy a field goal as you're going to get but I can see you shaking your head I love that peripheral vision of yours partner because to me if it's the fourth quarter and you're up six I get it but now even if you run and don't get in you're still setting them up to go a long field 98 99yd Drive how do you look at your defense and not give them that [Applause] opportunity they'll throw now on the final play that one downfield for dson and that's caught inside the 35 so we've come upon halftime here in this NFC division and a decent return out to the 27 yd line the Eagles ready to go on offense to begin quarter number three and they've been the better of the two teams through two quarters of play to the Chagrin of this home crowd yeah this score is a surprise to a lot of folks at home although not to my dad he predicted the visitors would win and maybe to the folks in the stadium but you know who is not a surprise to partner this team with the football they were very confident coming in ball on the 36 now here's second y up the Middle with Barkley and he'll be brought down down shy of the 40 at the 38 yd line able to get the one ydd he needed but nothing [Applause] more from the gun it's hers and this one complete to Smith and taking it across Midfield and inside the 45 right about 20 yds on the pickup officially they'll say it's going to go for 19 but one of the ways that quarterbacks keep all the receivers alive in a play Never lock in on any one guy make sure you keep your eyes moving scan the field and here he finds the open guy for a nice pick up that is caught it's the tight end gard and he's going to get this one down to the edge of the red zone that one goes for 24 yards here's Herz to throw quick slant here to Smith it'll go down as a gain of six and that'll make it second down fires the quick slant AJ Brown's got it and the Eagles are going to be set up with a first and goal on a pass play that moves them all the way down to the [Applause] one hers to keep it on the draw and he's in for an Eagles touchdown Jaylen Herz keeping it himself from a yard out and the Eagles Take the opening kickoff of the third quarter and drive right down the field to extend their lead Elliot now to add the extra [Applause] [Music] point and this one gives his guys a 12-point lead so this drive five span seven plays and it ends with a one yd touchdown [Applause] run and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30 yd line the Lions offense ready to kick off their next Drive well the opposition laid down the challenge an opening drive touchdown here to start the second half and Charles now you feel like this group needs to get an answer because this all of a sudden is a two-score game yeah you're right about that what was a small manageable spread to overcome a little bit more daunting now I think you're exactly right pressure is on because you don't want them getting the ball back with a chance to really extend this lead out let's keep those they'll send a receiver in motion to the left G and that's hauled in by St Brown over the middle and he has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped that good for 21 yds on the catch and run couple of first downs right in succession and this is an offense they could really use a good drive and they're off to a fast start here [Applause] so from Philadelphia territory now here's a first and 10 at the 38 now it's G and that is incomplete a the coverage a little too good there and it's second [Applause] down straight ahead with Gibbs here and he'll take this one down to the 36 they do get a couple but they'll be left staring at a third and eight coming up now G and that is incomplete oh my goodness he was in his own ZIP code but somehow could not look it in oh I don't know if he's sensing contact to come or what but that's a ball he'd love to have back that could have gone for big yardage but it just didn't want to stay in his hands that's a tough break and this is off the left upright and it comes back it's no good already ready at the line This Philly offense set to go this drive here beginning probably with a pair of motivated groups remember the offense scored a touch down their last time out looking to repeat that in Charles's defense they were very frustrated after giving up six the last time on the field and frankly it's just a batt of Wills in a lot of ways because you know they're both motivated they both game planned for this drive and they both have specific outcomes in mind to me it just comes down to who can execute better and which side can step up and assert it will over the other and this throw incomplete now the defender all over him that time and it's going to lead to third down in search of four yards here to pick up the first down throwing is hers and that nearly the pick that they needed he couldn't pull it in though and it's Fourth Down on is the punter man as he boots this one away and this will depend on the spot as it sails out of bounds and they'll say it's sailed out at the 10 yd line the Detroit offense ready to begin their Drive last time out they had that long 50 plus yard field goal that they missed and I'm sure on their sideline they're thinking themselves okay do we still want to try one if we're in that position again and I would dare say that the answer would be yes they're going to have a lot of confidence in their kicker but just to be on the safe side I'm sure they told their offensive guys can we get a little bit closer this time closer yeah you know I'd rather get in the end zone first and foremost but if all else fails less of a field goal attempt for him and brought down but not before they're able to get it up to the 25 [Applause] throw caught by Raymond and he gets this up just shy of the 30 to the 29 before he's out of bounds second and six just inside the 30 Williams being motion left they'll fake the give now G acoss the middle he's got it complete to St Brown and he has a big gain inside the 40 before being dropped that'll go as a pick up of 32 on the catch and run and you need a big play go to your big play guy listen that's football 101 when you have to have it you expect that guy to step up a lot of people call these receivers Divas sometimes just leadership when they get in the Huddle and say get me the ball I'm about to make a big play the give right side for Gibbs it's a six- yd pickup but it gets him to Second and four running Lan read a premium in the first T but he's able to find some room there and he's hoping that that's a precursor of a big second [Applause] half they'll bring the tight end in motion right here to throw is gone Blitz coming and down he goes more than one Defender there and that's a loss of five on the sack and this dominant defensive performance continued on that play this poor quarterback he's not received the protection he needs and has had to pick himself up off the turf far too often he's airing it out for Williams that's going to be knocked away and incomplete after what they faced during this game where they've given up a ton of yards downfield there has to be a measure of Revenge right there for the secondary they've been shredded throughout the game and finally forced an incompletion [Applause] and this one is no good he missed it and that will keep this a 12-point gain listen now no kick from 50 plus as a gimme but here you're indoors in a dome you'd think ideal conditions yeah and it's one that he would expect himself to make not just us expecting him to make it over the years my theory is very simple the athletic ability of kickers continues to get better and better check their backgrounds they were all County All State and other positions not just soccer players these guys expect themselves to be great as well her sets up to throw it and he rifles one incomplete now a second and [Applause] 10 throwing from the gun it's herds oh he'll want that one back incomplete he doesn't drop too many in that department third down right where this set of downs started they need a full 10 here to pick up the first down and move the chains work in the middle of the field and he's got a man complete and he is going to have an eagles first down as they're able to get the third down conversion and now we get into the psychology of the whole thing because a lot of teams with a two-score lead in the third quarter they almost become defensive with their offense just playing not to lose I think with this team you got to figure at this point this a great great spot for them to go into Attack Mode really try and put the hammer down and finish this one off second down and the yard herds and his throw is incomplete anytime a Ball's thrown in the middle of the field has popped up in the air I expect someone to catch it doesn't matter whether it's offense or defense because there's usually a great amount of bodies in that part of the field in this case no one came up and that is incomplete oh he had a Defender right there with him to force that to the ground and fourth down now coming up they'll say no to the 46 yd field goal try they're going to go for it they'll run for it with Barkley and they are going to stop him on fourth and one as they'll wind up going backwards the Eagles unable to convert there on Fourth and the lions will take over partner when you see a running play stop short like that you just know that the defensive front they won the Battle of Leverage and created the push back into the opposing Back Field and for the offensive coordinator whether you had one yard to go or 20 yards to go on fourth down now you're probably saying oh maybe I should have passed it right yeah hindsight is always 220 Goff in this Lions offense set for a first and 10 at about the 32 off the play fake he'll look to throw and it's incomplete yes sir how about an out of boy there on first down got his hand in and knocked it away second and 10 here as we sit in the third quarter of this divisional round matchup here's G St Brown making the catch on the out route they get six that'll leave them with third and four in the a shotgun snap for G and able to catch it on the left sideline but they're going to rule him out of bounds so it'll be incomplete certainly one they'd like to have back as it brings up fourth down here comes the Lions punter now as he'll putt it away for the fourth time [Music] [Applause] today that's returnable now for Smith they'll net only 35 here following a 43 yd boot 8yd return and the Eagles will have it taking over first and [Applause] 10 they'll start by running the option to the right and he'll fight forward to about the 27 yd line only a yard on the keeper and it'll be second down back to [Music] throw gets this out to saquan Barkley and they get him down but not before he takes it across the 40 yd line it's a gain of 16 and an eagle first down I'll tell you what a lot of those mid-range throws have been available because sometimes teams get too concerned about the Deep ball and they leave too much space in front of them and these guys have been taken advantage so [Applause] far and they'll let the quarterback keep it here on First and [Music] 10 and they'll get this well past Midfield before being stopped just before the 35 chewing up big yardage another nice gain there this one goes for 20 well he is certainly dangerous when he spots a lane and he keeps it himself there worked out well how about the moving Parts on a play like this you know you have to practice it over and over because it's almost like a ballet that has to be choreographed but how about once he made the decision to go he committed into it and went let's face it most teams are going to defend the running back much more than the quarterback on that type of a play on second and 10 hers it's caught Smith nine yds not quite enough and they'll be left now brings up fourth down well he's had success running the football in this one that's undeniable but that time the defense was on to it and partner I think the more you see a play like this the more they're able to diagnose it quicker and easier for them to defend it I think you have to dress it up a little bit and show maybe some different formations and looks so an important one there as they ready and the Eagles come up here first and 10 at their own 26 and this has been a tight game to this point of course they usually are at this juncture of the playoffs but with the lead in the football the clock right now their friend as they try to book their spot in the conference Championship next Sunday well it may seem a little unorthodox to some people got the lead fourth quarter yet he's still firing away I think he believes that's the best way to go Ahad and win the game yeah a lot of coaches say let's just run the football be conservative he's sticking to his game plan no that is his game and that's what they're going to ride so they'll get eight out of that completion and that'll bring up a second down in just a [Applause] couple on the option left it's herds and he'll be brought down looks like right at the 40 a gain of eight on the keeper and a first down well that's the fear any defense has when the quarterback gets involved in the running game you don't usually account for him and he's hurting him today yeah he's been very involved in the running game defensively when you got the coverage good downfield how do you account for him though occasionally you start to spy him take someone has the same agility who can dance with him run with him and try and keep him in the pocket yeah it'll be especially critical here as we come down the stretch in the fourth and that's a great run and this is where you've got a running back who feels like he needs to take over this football game you're in the second half you got the lead you're looking at moving on to the conference Championship and he's got to be saying just keep giving me the ball and I'll get us home this already looks like they stopped some fight in them on this series because it seemed like things were headed for the Red Zone but if this defense gets two more stops they can keep them out of that area his throw incomplete this offense was on the Move now two straight incompletions have him looking at third and 10 he'll look to throw throwing for Smith on the out out and it's caught and he'll be stopped short of the first down right around the 18 yd line the kick by Elliot is good and that will extend their lead even further so that CD an important one here in the fourth quarter and that importance cannot be overstated all eyes on both side lines were staring that one down all the way the significance is that they made it a two-score game still lots of time left to go but likely that was their goal at the start of the drive get three points make it a two-score game and they were able to get it done and oh that nearly their first pick of the game but it falls down to the ground incomplete out of the gun G and that almost their first int of the ball game had his sights on championship game as they're able to extend this fourth quarter [Applause] lead now after the touchdown here's Elliot on to kick it away [Applause] and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30yd line and Detroit getting set to go now it certainly has not been the outing that they envisioned on their home turf in the divisional round of the playoffs and they have been pushed around and now their backs against the wall he gets this out wide to Gibbs and he's brought down at the 34 call it a gain of four line of scrimmage the 24 this is second and six [Applause] G that'll be caught it's St Brown and he'll be taken down but not before he gets into enemy [Applause] territory from the gun here's gone he's airing it out for Williams touchdown Jameson Williams with now two fourth quarter touchdowns and the Lions have got it back to a two-score game here in the fourth extra point splits the uprights and that'll make this now an 11-point [Applause] deficit scoring sub three playay drive and it was Jameson Williams wrapping things up with a touchdown [Applause] and the Eagles hands team able to cover it up and that's why you have your hands team out there on the field those are the best guys ready to make that play and let's face it it was executed well it wasn't a bad kick it wasn't anything like that just that the normal outcome actually came to play analytics will tell you it's a very low possibility of getting the ball for the team kicking it an outside kick situation you're all about the numbers aren't you all about the numbers baby it's a new one the Lions quickly now going to use the last of their timeouts as they'll head to the sideline and talk over what to do next and they are going to stop him on fourth and one as they'll wind up going backwards here's G open that is Raymond he's got it and they'll be stopped right at the 30 on a play that started back at the 15 they pick up 15 a little short pass here taken in by leapa I know sometimes we can Get Fooled when we watch him make catches as we just saw him do there because he really looks like a wide receiver the way he goes about his business yeah 23 240 range yeah not not super huge maybe not counted on to be that inline point of attack blocker that we used to have in a good old days but you can Flex him out you can run wide receiver routes with him you can make him a
