reason to Rejoice this morning morning the Bible says whom the son has set free is free indeed and it also says let the redeemed of the Lord say so in other words let's rejoice in our Salvation let's rejoice and be glad that we are redeemed and we are set free and that we are no longer bound by the things of this world amen amen so good to see all of you this morning in the house of the Lord on a beautiful uh uh July uh hot steamy humid Sunday morning morning amen amen that's just how where we live and the time of the year it is and so I am glad all of you are here with us this morning um uh just a few quick announcements um this morning I want to mention to you first of all tonight uh is family ministry night uh and so uh it is at 5:30 there was a typ of last week it said 5:00 it is at 5:30 uh this afternoon uh and so all the details about that uh are in the book bulletin there's a signup sheet to bring stuff for the things that we need and so remember that uh this afternoon at 5:30 is family ministry night also uh during family ministry night when we split into our groups our men's groups and women's groups um we're going to have a meeting uh with all of those who um worked last year and would like to work this year with our Wednesday night kids we're gearing up for that getting ready to start that back up this in August and so we need to have a meeting with everybody for that so we're asking all those uh who are going to be a part of that to please make plans to be here uh for that meeting very very important that we get things uh lined up for that um and in in that same uh vein uh we are collecting uh small water bottles and little juice boxes uh and other snack items so to hand out uh when we're at sidewalk Sunday school and so uh please uh we've got a box at the back of the church a back of the sanctuary um for you to drop those items in and then also women's Ministries is having a meal uh this coming Wednesday at 5:45 all the information about that uh is in the uh bulletin as well um several things going on exciting happening one other thing I want to mention to you is our Global Outreach Service uh which will be on uh August 11th at 5:30 at the conference uh if you'd like to be go to that uh uh let us know we can give you directions we maybe carpool with some uh you're the global Outreach service is always one of the Great events that our conference does and so um and so I encourage you to be there Dr Mark Rutland will be speaking uh and you'll you'll be blessed by that time uh together and so please remember that we'll also be taking up our offering for Global Outreach on Sunday morning August 11th and so please be um in prayer about what you can give to that Global Outreach is one of those offerings that um you know there's there's no administrative cost uh in the Global Outreach offering 100% of the money that's given for Global Outreach goes to Global Outreach 75% of that goes to missionaries uh foreign missionaries um to do uh their work in their um in the countries where they're ministering and then also to special projects and 25% of that money stays in the United States for uh evangelism and Outreach efforts in our country so I encourage you all and giving uh in Global Outreach offering and so um this morning we want to go the Lord in prayer and take our requests to the Lord P several we want to continue to remember in prayer uh uh those recovering from surgeries uh we want to continue to remember the Jordan family let's also continue to remember Sister Glenna uh this morning also if you will remember a friend of mine David uh has had some medical problems over the last week or so uh just needs a touch of the Lord this morning and so uh remember him this morning uh maybe today you have an unspoken prayer request you'd like to signify with a raised hand amen remember all of those that this morning let's also remember all those traveling for vacations and different things and and those who can't be with us this morning uh let's go Lord in prayer today and take our request of the Lord and ask the Lord to meet with us today Father we love you Lord we're so thankful for you God we're thankful for your grace we're thankful for your mercy we're thankful for the peace that passes understanding and Lord we're thankful for your joy unspeakable that's full of Glory God we ask today that you just touch here this morning God that you Minister you saw all the need you know every hand that was raised in the need it represents God you know those who have needs that are spoken and unspoken God those who need a healing those who need strengthening and those who need encouraging God we ask today that here this morning you just touch and that God you Minister that you do the work that only you can do that you heal and that you Minister and Lord as we go forward from this moment we just pray pray that you touch and that God you Minister and that you do what only you can do here today God we ask that you heal we ask that you touch we ask that you encourage we ask Lord that you help us go to the highways of the hedges and compel people to come in Lord we ask today that you touch in this service as we open the bread of life and Lord we share your word together God I pray that our hearts would be open to you this morning to receive the things you have for us move and Minister touch and strengthen and encourage us today and Lord when we leave we'll leave rejoicing celebrating that we have met with you and you have met with us move here this morning we take authority over anything that would try and come against the service and I ple the blood of Christ this morning and I ask Jesus that you be exalted in all that is said and done in Jesus name amen and amen amen amen amen I'm going to ask our ushers to come this morning uh take up our our tithe and our offering uh while they're coming let me just encourage you again thank you so much for being faithful in giving uh and being a part in giving uh you know the money that we take up on Sunday morning and through your online giving and all those things they go to support the ministry and helping us reach more people uh we're able to do uh what we're getting ready to do uh with our sidewalk Sunday School and our Wednesday night kids we're able to do that because you give uh and I promise you God will bless you [Music] onary your what I for you [Music] have to [Music] amen aren't you thankful for the touch of the lord your touch is what I long foren his touch his lifechanging life transforming touch and without him without him touching me without him doing what he does then I can't do what I do I can't live I don't want can I tell you today I don't want to live without Christ I don't want to life is hard enough as it is I don't need to make my life more difficult by trying to live it on my terms so let me live my life on his terms and let him do what in my life what he chooses to do amen amen are you glad to be in God's house this morning amen I am glad to be here yes I am glad to be here today amen and be in his house nothing like it amen well if you will this morning remain standing with me and turn in your Bibles to the Book of Matthew uh chapter 4 if you're looking for Matthew uh it's the very first book of the New Testament you flip to the end of the Old Testament and it's the very next book uh so why you're finding Matthew 4 if you will turn around and greet one another in the Lord uh and uh uh let everybody know you're glad to see them this morning um if you're not glad to see them don't say anything just smile and Nod your head and so just reading three verses this morning uh Matthew chapter 4 um going to talk to you this morning about whatever wherever whatever wherever uh from Matthew chapter 4 reading three verses to you this morning look with me in the word of the Lord from the New Living Translation here's what the Bible says Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee teaching in the synagogues and announcing the good news about the kingdom and he healed every kind of disease and illness news about him spread as far as Syria and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick and whatever say it with me whatever whatever whatever their sickness or disease or if they were demon-possessed or epileptic or paralyzed he healed them all somebody say that's good good yeah large crowds followed him wherever say wherever wherever he went people from gilee the 10 Towns Jerusalem from all over Judea and from east of the Jordan River may God have blessings in the reading of his word you can be seated this morning so in my opinion there is a disease that is one of the worst ever to suffer from you may have heard of it it's called locked in disease it happens when a portion of the brain stem is damaged usually from a stroke uh sometimes through other blunt force traumas or things like that and it incapacitates a person locked in disease is particularly awful because the person who suffers from it is locked in their body nothing works except for their eyes and their ears they have a pain they have a need they have something they can't do anything about it they can't talk they can't EXP express it they feel pain in their body but they can't respond in any way again their eyes and their ears work but if they have a pain they can feel the pain but they can't respond to the pain they're locked in their bodies and they can't do anything about it I I cannot imagine a worse sick or illness to have now I know there's some others out there and you may you know we could but I can't imagine can you imagine think for a moment being locked in your body you're completely aware of everything that's going on around you and you can't do anything you're just laying there they have a need and they can't let anyone know about it there is no cure for Locked In disease and the treatment is once they determine that a person is suffering from locked in disease the treatment is this they teach them to communicate with their eyes and they wait for fine motor skills to return can you imagine what an awful disease well in today's text there were some people who had horrible diseases they had awful diseases but unlike the person with locked in disease uh they were able to communicate their need and and get to the place or more specifically uh to the person who could do something about their need so this morning I want us to look at these verses in Matthew chapter 4 that I read to you and there's really three things that I want to point out to you the first one is this it says in Matthew 4 and verse 23 that Jesus went about sharing the good news in Matthew chapter 4 uh and verse 23 it says that Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee teaching in the synagogue synagogues and proclaiming the good news about the kingdom that's what Jesus did he shared the good news let me say that again Jesus shared the good news you're getting it Jesus shared the good news you say well what is the good news Well a few verses before uh the text I read to you uh it says in verse 17 uh of Matthew 4 that uh from then on Jesus began to preach repent of your sins and and turn to God for for the Kingdom of Heaven is near Jesus went about went everywhere teaching and preaching throughout all Galilee in the synagogues on the streets in front of crowds all over the area Jesus T and preached one message the good news of the kingdom of God everywhere he went the message was the same there's a kingdom not of this world but is better than the one you have here on Earth everywhere he went the message was the same was the same the message he would share was this message that you don't have to live like you are living and you don't have to live in the Kingdom that you're in right now for eternity there is a better Kingdom and it's the kingdom of the almighty God and that's the same message that you and I should share that this world is not our home that I'm only passing through I'm a souljourner here I'm just passing through I'm on my way to a better Kingdom like the writer of Hebrews says I'm looking for a city that have foundations whose Builder and maker is God that's the message that Jesus proclaimed that the good news of the kingdom is the most incredible message that we have there's no better message than this message and that's what the the world needs to hear Church they need to hear the good news that Jesus saves and redeems from sin the good news this message that you don't have to suffer the penalty of sin that Jesus Paid the price and one day Jesus will return and take us to a Heavenly City our Heavenly Home our Eternal home and I don't know about you but I think that's good news because I'm going to be honest with you this morning I am tired of this world I used to hear that growing up I I'd hear people say that and they're like I'm just tired of this whole world I'm like wow the world's great and then and then I started Living and then I started experiencing and I'm thinking I see all this stuff that's going on and can I tell you today I am tired of this world and I want to go to my eternal home are you you say are you are you mental are you no I'm not mental I'm not having mental issues I'm not no no no I just want his kingdom more than I want an Earthly Kingdom I want to go see Jesus more than I want to stay here on this Earth I want to go see the king and worship in glory more than I want to experience anything on this Earth that's the good news that Jesus proclaimed that there's a city a Heavenly City a Heavenly Kingdom that is better than anything we have here on this Earth there's 10 things I want to share with you real quickly uh about the good news that I think we need to make sure we understand and that the world get gets to that they have to hear these things you ready for them the first the first thing is this the good news angers Satan the good news anger Satan he hates the good news he doesn't like it it makes him mad you say why does the does the good news anger Satan because of the second reason the good news changes lives that's why that's why it angers Satan is because the good news changes lives the good news transforms people uh the good news not only does it anger Satan and not only does it change lives but the good news opens eyes and not just physical eyes yes the good news will do that but there's some spiritual eyes that that it opens and can I tell you today if there's ever been a time before that we need spiritual eyes opened it is now we need men and women of God to have their spiritual eyes open and understand that the enemy is attacking the church the enemy is coming against the church the enemy is coming against the family uh the enemy is coming against Believers and we need our spiritual eyes open to understand that we don't wrestle against flesh and blood that we don't wrestle against principalities or we wrestle against principalities and and all spiritual wickedness in high places that's what we wrestle against something may manifest in the physical uh but it is always a spiritual battle uh and we need our spiritual eyes opened to understand that we're in the fight of Our Lives amen somebody this this morning the good news anger Satan the good news transforms uh or changes lives the good news opens a blinded eyes the good news melts Harden Hearts the good news transforms uh the repentant the good news encourages the despondent can I tell somebody this morning if you are discouraged if you are downtrodden if you are if you are weary can I tell somebody today don't be weary and well doing for in due season you will reap if you faint not those that wait on the Lord will renew their strength they'll Mount up with wings as Eagles they'll run and not grow weary they will walk and not faint the good news encourages the despondent and this world is despondent this world is hurting and we've got the good news let's share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to somebody the good news this morning it transcends time uh the good news is not affected by your circumstance the good news P pushes us to righteousness and the good news starts and ends with Jesus Christ and can I tell you that's the best news there is we need to let the world know that there's a message out there it's good news it's good news this morning it's good news that changes and transform lives can I tell tell you today I've said it before said it a moment ago I'll say it now the world needs to hear the good news there's enough bad news going around you don't believe me watch any news station I quit watching the news a long time ago I'll read some I'm selective of what I read though if I need a headline I need something I'm going to look for it I'm going tell you there's bad news everywhere you turn every every time you turn around something bad is happening can I tell you today there's a bad there's enough bad news going around it's time that the Church of the Living God proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ again it's time for the people of God to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ louder than we have ever proclaimed it before it is time that God's people we get the spirit of David you what do you mean preacher well I mean this like David whenever he came in from worshiping God and his wife Michael looked at him and say well look at the king look what he did today he showed himself and she mocked him and he looked at her and he said listen honey if you think that was bad you ain't seen nothing yet baby I'll be more undignified than that I believe it's time that the Church of the Living God say listen if you thought we were loud then uh you ain't seen nothing yet we're about to be louder uh we're about to be bolder uh we're about to be more in your face because this message of Jesus Christ changes lives it is good news not bad news I can can I tell you today I my prayer is that the Church of the Living God purpose and reason in our hearts that we will Proclaim aloud the message that Jesus says louder than we ever have before and that there is a holy boldness in US my prayer for us today is that God will put in us a holy boldness to say no that's wrong and this is right no that's bad news but I got good news my prayer today for the church is that God's people will be bold in the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ again oh my K can we do something do you believe the church needs to be bold let me ask again I want make sure do you believe the church needs to be bold all right here's what I want us to do I you say well this is this is abnormal it's okay I've done abnormal stuff before I want us to pray right now I want us to stop right now and I want us to pray for each other and here's what I want us to pray I want us to pray that God put a spirit of boldness on ush that we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ uh nor the name that we call on uh that we will be bold in our Proclamation uh that we will find ways we will find people uh and we will share the gospel can we pray that right now will you find somebody right now I want us right now say well we don't normally do it's okay we don't have to normally do anything we can do this uh come on I want us to pray with each other right now come on pair up pair up grp group up hurry up hurry up we got time we got stuff to do this morning we got to share all right now let's pray let's pray I want us to pray I want you to pray fervently for each other and I'm going to pray for all of us and we're going to PR sound booth everybody I want us praying for each other that God put in within us uh a holy boldness let's pray father in the name of Jesus we call to you uh we call to you and we ask you to put within us a holy boldness again a boldness to proclaim the gospel uh a boldness to proclaim the good news a boldness to let the world know that there is a savior and his name is Jesus and he will change their lives he will save them from their sin he will redeem them from the penalty of sin God put within us a holy boldness this morning uh to Proclaim aloud this message uh that Jesus says that he changes and that it transforms lives God put within us a boldness like never before today God we thank you for your boldness we thank you for the boldness to Proclaim God thank you today for boldness in the name of Jesus Hallelujah Lord hallelujah we thank you for both boldness God put within us a boldness to proclaim a boldness to stand a boldness to go a boldness to fight against the forces of Satan a boldness to not give up God put within us a holy boldness today to proclaim the message of Christ and God we give you glory for what you're going to do in Jesus name Hallelujah Jesus Hallelujah Lord Lord you're worthy this morning Hallelujah can I tell you today church we need boldness now more than ever before a boldness to Proclaim this message that Jesus Christ saves the world needs to hear the good news today but there's something else that Jesus did not only did he share the good news but the Bible says in verse 24 that whatever the need whatever the need Jesus met the need you say but what do you mean by whatever well in Matthew chapter 4 and 24 it says this news about him spread as far as Syria and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick and whatever the sickness or disease if they were demon-possessed or epileptic or paralyzed listen he healed them some is that what it says no he healed a few of them no he healed the ones he liked no no no it says he healed healed them all say it with me all he healed all of them this morning the King James uses the word or the words diverse diseases and torments those who were dealing with pain and suffering those who were dealing with mental illnesses those who were demon-possessed those who were paralyzed those who had the py whatever the need Jesus healed the all it says it right there he healed them all that word healed means I love the word the meaning there providing care to improve the situation isn't that great think about that providing care to improve the situation isn't that great today knowing that the God we serve provides care and in providing care he improves the situation whatever the need didn't matter whatever it was there was no case too difficult there was nothing too difficult for him he healed them all whatever it was they came from as far away as a 100 miles away to come to this man who we know as the great physician they came to him in whatever the need all of them who came to Jesus were healed no case was too difficult for Jesus to heal there was no no need too large for Jesus to meet no no disease was too complex for Jesus to change and as it was then it is now there is no need too large for God to meet amen there's no need whatever the need he can meet it whatever it is he can show up and he can Minister and he can change and he can transform whatever it was the Bible I mean it says it right there whatever the need whatever it was he showed up can I tell you today one of the great lies of Satan to the church and to Christians and to Believers is this that God that your need is too big for God to meet another lie that the enemy perpetrates against the church is that your need is too small for God to bother with and can I tell you today neither one of those statements is true no need is too big no need is too small no need is too big that God can't meet it and no need is too small that God won't be worried with it can I tell you today if it concerns you it concerns him there is no need that is to anything for God Jesus showed up and whatever the need he met the need Jesus conquered death and if Jesus conquered death he can certainly heal your diseases he can certainly heal your body he can certainly touch your mental state he can certainly uh improve your emotional status he can do whatever you need whatever the need Jesus can work a miracle in your life here's what the book of Psalms says Psalm chapter 103 verses 3 and 5 he forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases he redeems me from death and crowns me with love and Tender Mercies he fills my life with good things my youth is renewed like the eagles I don't know about you church but I love this idea that my youth is renewed like the eagles some of you may be at this maybe past the station in life that that I am entering I looked in the mirror the other day and I I looked and I saw this older looking guy that I didn't recognize because I don't think I look that way I don't think I have that much gray hair I don't think think I still think I can do what I've always done I can do what I've always done I just have to take more leave the next day y'all laugh because you're saying amen you know understand that your afflictions are accomplished in your brethren the psalmist said he forgives all my sins and he heals all my diseases he redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender Mercy he fills my life with good things my youth is renewed like the eagles whatever the need Church whatever you've got going on in your life your need is not too large for God to minister in it your need is not too much it's not too little for God he's a Healer this morning church he's a need meter I can't answer the question I wish I had the answer why God chooses to heal some people on Earth and why he chooses to heal some people through the grave I wish I had the answer I don't have the answer I can tell you that it Reigns on the just and the unjust I can tell you that it's appointed unto man wants to die and after that the Judgment I can tell you all of these things but I don't know that that answers the question but this I know today that no matter the way God chooses to heal he still heals no matter the way he chooses to do it he still does it it's our responsibility to trust God and His Providence whatever your need this morning he's here whatever it is he's wanting to touch you whatever it is he's wanting to minister to you whatever it is excuse me whatever it is church He's Able he's Desiring he's longing can I tell you today I believe with all that is within me that God is crying out from the portals of Glory let my son meet your need I believe God wants to allow and God wants to minister God wants to through his son Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit God wants to touch us we've just got to let him do it whatever the need Jesus shared the good news and whatever the need Jesus worked a miracle there's one more thing though this morning wherever he went wherever he went he did Miracles and wherever you are this morning church Jesus will meet you there as I got ready for this morning and was pondering today I realize you know we're all at different stations of Life some are older I was going to say some are old but I added the ER on there some are older some are younger some are married some are single some are working some are retired we're all at these different stations in life some are running to God some are running from God you know I found it amazing that you know it wasn't by chance that these people were where they were when Jesus came through they were on a collision course with Divine Destiny they were they they they they were they had an appointment with the savior of the world because Jesus Jesus knew the need and he was coming to their town to meet their needs and each one of those people had a choice to make each one of those people had a decision to make am I going to let him touch me am I going to let him do whatever he wants to do or am I going to stay in my station of sin am going to am I going to going to stay in my station of hurt am I going to stay in my station of pain am I going to stay in my station of disease each one of them had a decision to make just like you and I have a decision to make each day we when we get up we have a decision to make every day no matter what it is no matter what's going on no matter what's happening every day in life we have a decision to make and the decision is simply this are we going to let God do what God wants to do because you see not only whatever the need did Jesus meet wherever he was he met needs didn't matter where he was going it didn't matter where the people were wherever wherever he was and people were there he was meeting needs he went to Galilee he met needs Jerusalem he met needs the 10 cities around Jerusalem he met needs wherever he went Jesus met needs as I was looking today I just realized this that not only wherever he went he met needs but can I tell you those people had to decide what they were going to do with that because Jesus was there to meet the need just like I believe he's here this morning to meet needs I believe he's here I believe he wants to touch I believe he wants to do something I believe that but you've got to let him do it you have to allow him to do it the crowds followed wherever Jesus went Jesus was meeting wherever he went he was meeting needs and you have to decide are you going to let God do what God wants to do in your life are you going to allow him to show up and minister in touch you know today you can't hide from God Adam and Eve tried it and it didn't work why because God was looking for them God was looking for them he came down in the cool of the evening and said Adam where are you you know what Adam said he said I hid because I was naked God said how did you know you were naked did you eat what you weren supposed to eat did you do what you were not supposed to do God knew you can't hide things from God you may want to try to hide hide things from God you may want to try and hide them but can I tell you today God looking for you takes the form of the holy spirit's conviction and God is looking for people today and wherever you are Jesus will meet you there whatever you've got going on the psalmist said in Psalm 139 he said this I can never Escape from your spirit I can never get away from your presence if I go up to heaven you are there if I go down to the Grave you are there if I ride the wings of the morning if I dwell in the by the furtherest oceans even there your hand will guide me uh and your strength will support me uh I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night listen but even in darkness I cannot hide from you uh to you the night shines as bright as day Darkness and Light are the same to you in other words it doesn't matter what you are experiencing in life and it doesn't matter where you are God can find you God's looking for you he's calling you only a Heart full of sin would think that God could not find them only a heart shrouded in hurts from the past would think that God has left them Jes Jesus is near to those who seek Him wherever you are whatever the need God is ready he's standing ready this morning draw near to him and he'll draw near to you he is near to the Brokenhearted he is near to the hurting the question is will we allow him to do what he wants to do in our lives are we ready to give it up he said butor you don't you you don't understand what I've been through I don't I don't know I don't know all your stories I know some of them you shared with me I'm thankful for that but I don't know all of your stories but I know this God knows and I know that God cares and that God's looking for you wherever you are he's wanting to meet the need wherever he went he met needs and so if you'll get close to him wherever he is and you carry your burden to him and you leave it with him can I tell you today he'll do what nobody else can do whatever the need he's there to touch the need won't you stand with me this morning I want you to take this home with you today people will follow the power of God functioning through the good news of Jesus Christ in Matthew chapter 4 here's what it says and whatever their sickness or disease or if they were demon-possessed or epilep epileptic or paralyzed he healed them all large crowds followed him wherever he went can I tell somebody this morning whatever wherever Jesus is ready to meet the need Jesus is still doing today what he did back then if we allow him to question is will you allow him today this morning I believe he's here I believe he wants to touch I believe he wants to minister to whatever your need is wherever you are in life whatever wherever God wants to touch the question is are we going to allow him we're going to share the good news that's what we're about but in the process of sharing the good news sometimes God's people need a touch so whatever the touch you need where wherever you are whatever ever station in life you are in God's ready willing will you let him this morning oh while they play and sing this morning you have a need whatever it is wherever you are in life God wanting to meet the [Music] need I'm going to ask this morning that can we all just gather at the altar he said if I don't have a need you will if you live life long enough you will but maybe this morning you have a need and you say God I need you to touch it so this morning can we all just gather at the altar and let's pray to God that one he make us bold again and two whatever the need wherever we are that he'll meet the need will you come this morning will you come this morning can we all just gather at the altar today and ask God whatever the need wherever we are will you meet the need father we love you today what [Music] God Hallelujah Lord Lord you're worthy this morning [Music] yes yes Lord Jesus let your people [Music] today whatever the need church will you let him touch wherever you are will you let him do it [Music] it's no secret what God can do Hallelujah [Music] Jesus [Music] done yes for Jesus touch [Music] [Music] yes come on church talk to him for a moment talk to him this morning whatever the need Wherever You Are [Music] what God can [Music] do what he done [Music] for for you with Lord [Music]
