that's the be all the for for e e good morning welcome to the message Community Church we're so glad to have you all with with us here today it's a beautiful Sunday morning and it's going to be a little warmer I think this week so we' we've been blessed with really cool weather for the last week and now we're going to have some hotter weather again but that's okay because we're still in summer right anyway if you would stand with us today in the congregation for those of you online put your coffee cup down and we'll be ready to sing here in just a second I wanted to um there's a place in the Bible that says let the redeemed of the Lord say so are you redeemed today yes so let's say so when we're sing we're going to start out with that song and then move into some others which you'll just to worship Him in spirit and in truth not with lip service as man Pleasers but from the from the depths of our heart yes just worship and magnify the one who died for us the one who died to redeem us out of a life of sin and shame and suffering oh that's my desire and as a deer longs to drink water Hallelujah so my soul Longs for the Lord amen amen isn't God good to us today we just celebrate him this morning amen amen amen well let's keep it this mindset of worship as we work through some preliminaries and then we're going to just continue in worship and then go into the word this morning and so uh with that if you're watching online thank you so much for being a part of the service online this morning those here thank you for being here and being a part of the service today I'm just expecting God to do something great here and touch our hearts today when we leave we leave rejoicing in the god of our Salvation amen amen so let's remember some things if you've not already uh please get a uh the weekly message at the back of the church on your way out uh just a few things we do need uh we're going to be starting uh on September 25th we'll be bringing the children that we're ministering to currently on West 22nd Street we're going to start bringing them to the church we need van drivers uh we have a few that have signed up uh but we need some drivers and we need some Riders so if you can ride the van um and I'm just going to say it uh in Referee on the van um we need your help so um we need all the help we can get with that and so there's a sign up sheet at the back of the church uh we would love some of you so thankful that you've signed up already uh but we do need just a few more of each of those drivers and Riders and so if you've not already please sign up for that uh next Sunday uh big day for us we'll have communion uh but we're also going to be launching our pray and go uh campaign that's our our fall push uh for attendance and so uh just be ready for that next week we'll have some things here for you so make plans to be here uh next week now next week if you miss next week I'll know you don't you don't want to witness about Jesus no I understand things but next Sunday make plans to be here uh we're going to be talking about that and so just encourage you all in that also if you've not already saved the date for September 12th that's our barbecue fundraiser uh for Missions and local Outreach and so please remember that date we've already got some stuff that's going out uh and information going out but just be listening in the coming days and weeks uh you'll be hearing more information about that so please remember all of those things this morning um we do want to go to the Lord in prayer this morning and take our request that the Lord has several that we want to remember in prayer under immediate concerns we want to remember all of those let's also remember uh uh Francis snow this morning that's a friend of Mike and Tina she needs a touch with the Lord this morning and so let's remember her let's also remember those under continued concerns as well as our shuttin let's remember them this morning uh maybe this morning you have an unspoken prayer request you'd like to signify with a raised hand amen several of those today can I tell you I say it a lot but it just needs to be said this morning we serve a God who can we serve a God who can and he can do you say what can he do he can do so much I can I could spend the rest of the time this morning talking about the things that God can do and I would only scratch the surface of everything that God can do so whatever your need is uh he can meet the need this morning so I just encourage you with that let's go to the Lord in prayer this morning Father we do love you God we're so humbled at your presence we recognize today that that when we worship we're not worshiping being a a dead God we're not worshiping an idol that cannot respond but we are worshiping the god of the universe who Reigns on high in Majesty the Triune God who transcends time and space who who who reaches across generations and ministers to people uh Lord we celebrate you today Lord we celebrate and we Rejoice that you are a God who hears and answers prayer that you are not too busy to show up in this house this morning and touch lives God we ask today that you just touch us that our hearts be open to you that our hearts be willing to receive from you everything you have for us Lord you know the needs this morning Lord there's several Among Us that have ongoing health concerns and Lord they just need a touch of you today God we ask that through your divine power and through your great Providence that you minister those who are struggling those who with recent diagnosis God we pray that you'll just minister to them touch Francis this morning and minister to her Lord we ask today that in this service you touch our hearts that as we continue in worship and we open our hearts to you today God we pray that you'll just touch and that God you Minister that you'll do what only you can do today Father you'll flow among us and that Lord we'll be receptive to what you want to do in our hearts Lord touch now our hearts we take authority over the enemy we shut out the voices of the enemy and we focus completely on you this morning we put our hearts and our trust and our hope in the one true God Jehovah Minister move and touch Among Us and Lord we'll thank you for that in Jesus name amen and am amen I want us to do something this morning you know I mentioned it in my prayer I want us to right now I want us to to shut out all the voices shut out all the all the concerns of Life all the all the things that we know we've got to do this week it's going to be a busy week for some may not be as busy for others but I want us just to shut out all of those things and and I want us to put our focus on the Lord this morning amen we're going to take up our tithe and offering today and I'm going to ask our ushers to come you say you said all that and and you're going to take up offering well offering is an act of worship so this morning as they're singing and you're giving I want you to put your heart on worship and understand that all that we're doing this morning is an act of worship to the king can we do that this morning father we love you Lord we thank you God I pray you'll bless this offering let it be used for to build your kingdom that more people will know you as Savior in the full Parton of sin bless it use it father and Lord we'll give you glory for it in Jesus name amen and amen let's continue in worship this morning I worship you Mighty God there is you I worship you all is I want to I give you praise for you are Hallelujah Jesus you know Church time spent in worship Hallelujah is never wasted [Music] [Music] why do you not worship me why are you not filled with my holy spirit anymore why do you find yourself so weak spiritually when I can make you so strong worship me today and I will strengthen you in my spirit hallu hallelujah thank you Holy Spirit Hallelujah Jesus we have an admonition from the holy spirit this morning [Music] church that he wants to empower his people and he empowers his people through our worship of him we're going to spend a few more minutes here just worshiping the Lord and in this moments of worship allow the Holy Spirit to overwhelm you with his Spirit allow him to overwhelm you this morning and Empower you to do what he wants you to do can we do that this morning let's do that this [Music] morning Father we just love you we worship you God we adore you father we thank you for your spirit we thank you for the promise [Music] Hallelujah Lord we adore you I will praise you and I will worship you I will magnify you oh I I'll praise the one who died for me I'll adore the one who was sent to empower me and I'll give glory and honor and praise and adoration to the one who sits on the throne you are Mighty and You Are Holy you are just you are righteous we exall your name today God thank you [Music] Jesus Hallelujah [Music] Jesus Hallelujah Lord Hallelujah [Music] Jesus father you're worthy today [Music] hallelu hallelu for the Lord God Almighty Hallelujah [Music] Jesus hallelu Hallelujah Jesus Hallelujah for the Lord God [Music] Almighty Hallelujah [Applause] are you Lord God Almighty Worthy is the Lamb Worthy is the Lamb You Are Holy Holy you Lord God Almighty Worthy is the Lamb Worthy is the Lamb listen to the words of Peter in Acts 2 says then Peter stepped forward with the 11 other Apostles and shouted to the crowd listen carefully all of you fellow Jews residents of Jerusalem make no mistake about this these people are not drunk as some of you are assuming 9:00 in the morning is much too early for that no what you seen was predicted Long Ago by the prophet Joel I love how the new the how the King James version wordss it says for these are not drunk as you suppose seeing it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel you see this morning I don't know I I just love how God orchestrates things I love how God just he knows how to how to move cuz this morning I plan to talk about another look at Pentecost can I tell you today church we are decidedly and distinctly a Pentecostal church we believe in the flow of the Holy Spirit we believe in the gifts of the Spirit we believe what we saw and experience what we heard ably this morning a message in tongues and then an interpretation of that we believe that that is a gift of the Holy Ghost I do not subscribe to the school of thought that says that the gifts of the Spirit stopped when the first century Apostles died out I don't believe that in fact I believe that this gift is to you and to your children to your children's children to the third the fourth generation until Jesus Christ terms Hallelujah in fact I would even pose to you today that those who believe in the sensation of the gifts are as guilty of of denying the Holy Spirit as the Jews are and denying Christ the gifts of the Spirit are real huj and they're for us today Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 at the end of his discussion his discourse that his teaching on on the gifts of the Spirit in the church he said covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak in other tongues read it it's there and can I tell you today church we firmly believe that these gifts are real and they are for us today and when we open to him and we allow him to move in when we allow him to do can I I got to say this we got too many in the church today that are concerned with what somebody's going to call themall what somebody's going to say about them we used to not care if they called us holy rollers we used to not care who the Holy Spirit chose to speak through in the church we used to not it didn't matter because we understood that the Holy Spirit was speaking and we were going to listen we understood that the Holy Ghost was moving movie God that the Holy Spirit was real somewhere along the line somewhere along the way we got caught up in in something other than and can I tell you today what we experienced this morning his presence what we experienced this morning with with tongues and interpretation of those tongues uh what we experience today with the Holy Spirit moving and and touching and changing and transforming lives can I tell you uh this is that which was spoken by the the prophet Joel that he would pour out of his spirit in the last days upon All Flesh Sons and Daughters old and young uh no matter race no matter nationality no matter anything he is indiscriminate he will pour out his Spirit upon all people who will open to him and receive from him this gift called Pentecost and I don't know about you but I recognize that in these days we need the Holy Ghost now more than ever we need people today that are sensitive to the moving of the Holy Ghost that will be open to him and will allow him to flow and to function in their lives that will that they will loose control so he can take control Hallelujah yes you say you mean you want us to lose control no no no no that's not what I said I said we need people who will loose control in other words you say you know what Lord I'm not in control of my life I never have been and I'm not going to start now Lord I'm going to lose control I'm going to lose it and I'm going to let you do it amen we got people in the church who are who are who are scared well well we might get a little wildfire in here can I say this without getting in trouble I don't know but I'm going to say it I'd rather some fire than no fire hallelujah hallelujah you say well I'm concerned about this quit being concerned the Holy Spirit knows how to do things that's right the Holy Spirit knows how to move upon people uh the Holy Spirit knows how to to to to minister to people uh and if we can just be sensitive to the moving of the spirit if we can be sensitive to what he wants to do I am firmly convinced that in these last days that he is Desiring he is yearning to pour out of his Spirit I've got a I've got this planned in a few weeks you're going to hear it again it's okay though when Jesus stood at the end of The Book of Matthew and he declared all power is given to me in heaven and on Earth his next word was not let me explain this to you his next words were not now listen if you want this power you can you can have it his next words were not you know what this might be good if you if you take it those were not the next Words of Christ the next Words of Christ after he said all power is given unto me in heaven and earth the next word of Christ was go that's right that was an impartation of his power into the life of the believer in other words when you accept Christ as Savior and you know Jesus Christ he has impowered you to go he's empowered you to leave your spot and to go and what are you to go and do go and Proclaim uh go and reach the Lost go and teach go and preach uh go and do Miracles go whatever you do go but can I tell you today as Pentecostals there's another portion of power available to us and it's called The Power of Pentecost in other words we've been given the power of Christ at Salvation to go and proclaim the gospel and then at Pentecost we're given another portion of power and you could put it this way it is a double portion of the power of God into the life of the believer uh to get up from the their seat and go and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ you see this morning the gifts of the Spirit are more than speaking in tongues I celebrate tongues we rejoice in tongues we believe that the initial evidence of the reception of the baptism of the holy spirit is speaking in tongues there's five outpourings in the book of Acts and all of them are accompanied by speaking in tongues four of them it overtly it directly says it and in the fifth one it eludes to it and so we know that that that tongues accompanies the outpouring of the Holy Spirit I am there all day long but can I tell you today the holy spirit is more than speaking in tongues and it's time that the body of Christ that those of us who believe in tongues those of us who believe in Pentecost tongues is part of it I'm I'm there you know that but can I tell you it's time that we grab hold to the power that is available through tongues I'm sorry I thought I was talking to Pentecostal maybe you're a Pentecostal maybe yall somebody can I tell you today it's time in the body of Christ that we take this thing called tongues that we believe in and we allow Pentecost to get in us we allow him to get in here uh and begin to stir us and begin to take us uh deeper uh and we go more than just tongues and it's more than a feel good on a Sunday morning listen can I tell you when I leave here this morning I'm going to leave re joing I'm probably going to post on Facebook about the great service we've had and I'm going to celebrate and I'm going to rejoice it but can I tell you today the holy spirit is More Than A feel-good Feeling the holy spirit will get you up on Monday morning uh when you had a bad day uh the Holy Spirit get you up on Friday morning when youve had a bad week the holy spirit will put words in your mouth when you don't know what to say when the enemy rushes in like a flood it's the power of the holy spirit that enables you to get up and say devil uh you're a liar and the truth is not in you uh the devil you have no place in my life can I tell you today we need the power and the flow of the Holy Ghost In Our Lives somebody this morning and in these last days if we don't have the Holy Ghost we going to find it difficult to make it through I am firmly convinced that part of the reason why we see so many churches struggling and so many Christians struggling is because we have negated the power of the Holy Spirit spirit in an individual's life can I tell you today you need the Holy Ghost if you're going to make it today amen you said do you have to have the Holy Ghost to get to heaven no you don't you can get to heaven without the Holy Spirit but you've heard me say this before I need the Holy Spirit to make it through a trip to Walmart amen somebody today I need the Holy Spirit to make it through the week I need the Holy Spirit to get up on Sunday morning I need him to get up on Monday morning on Tuesday Morning on Wednesday morning Thursday Friday Saturday and back to Sunday I need the holy spirit because I don't have the power I need I don't have what I need unless I've got Jesus H I don't have what I need unless I got the power of the Holy Ghost can I tell you today we need the Holy Ghost like never before uh and we need to say you know what I'm not going to forget Pentecost I'm not going to forget what I believe about the move in the flow of the Holy Ghost oh my oh my I know I left my notes everywhere I don't care praise the lord we need if we've ever needed Pentecost we need Pentecost today if we ever need an outpouring of the Holy Spirit we need it right now this world church has not getting any better better it's not getting any better it's not going to get any better it's going to get worse you've heard me say it I believe it with all that is within me and we're living in in those Matthew 24 times believe we're seeing birth pains happen can I tell you if the church is going to succeed if Believers are going to finish the race with courage then it will be through the the power of the Holy Spirit functioning in their lives am you need the Holy Spirit you need him today the holy spirit is not an it it's not a thing the holy spirit is a it it's part of the Trinity the third person of the Trinity Hallelujah we believe that today let me read to you this let me find it here here it is I got this on the screen I think it's a wonder what what do we believe I think it's the first slide there throw it up here maybe yeah I keep going it starts with we believe there we go we believe I want you to read this with me I mean you don't have to read it out loud I just want to read it I want you there it is this is article 11 of the Articles of faith of the Pentecostal H church this is What We believe We believe that the Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire is obtainable by definite Act of appropriating Faith on the part of the fully cleansed believer and the and the initial evidence of the reception of this experience is speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives utterance that's what we believe you say well what does all that mean here let me let me break it down for you all right we believe that Jesus on the top of before he ascended he said all power in Heaven and Earth is given unto me in heaven and earth go as an impartation of his power into the life of the believer but then in Acts chap 1 verse4 he says that that not many days hence that you'll receive the gift of the spirit and you will be Witnesses of me and then in Acts chapter 2 the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost was poured out flames of fire other tongues were spoken and they said man they're drunk and Peter's like no no no we're not drunk it's too early early in the morning to be drunk but this is what Paul uh pet excuse me Joel talked about in the Old Testament and it was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and they spoke in other tongues as the spirit gave them the ability and I've already mentioned in Acts chapter 2 chapter 4 chapter 8 chapter 10 and chapter 19 we see outpourings of the Holy Spirit each one of them was accompanied uh by tongues the initial evidence that first evidence of the infilling of the holy spirit in John chapter 14 you say but is there a difference between the holy spirit that comes at Salvation and this yes there is in John 14 he says that the that the spirit shall be with you salvation and in you the baptism of the Holy Spirit we believe that the Holy Spirit the Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Ghost the Holy Spirit same thing and fire is obtainable by a death definite Act of appropriating Faith on the part of the fully cleansed believer in other words uh the holy spirit is not going to fill an unclean Temple when you read our articles of Faith this is on further down but before you get to this one there's the one on holy living on sanctification on right living and before that when there's the one uh about salvation that you got to be saved that's the beginning that's the start of the relationship is salvation then there's sanctification and then there there's the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speak speaking in other tongues the initial evidence but is not the only evidence like I've already mentioned and you read in 1 Corinthians chapters 12 13 and 14 chapter 12 tells you what the gifts of the Spirit are chapter 13 tells you how they operate in love in chapter 14 tells you how they function in the church and when you read the scriptures you see this laid out there that this is what we believe and this is that which was talked about by the prophet Jo can I tell somebody this morning if you don't have the Holy Spirit you need the Holy Spirit you need the baptism of the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues you so I'm not sure I I know how that works I've been in Pentecost my whole life I don't know anything else all I know is Pentecost and I'm not sure I understand how it works but I know it does work I know today that the Holy Spirit when you don't know what to say the holy spirit will give you the words to say when you don't know how to pray the Holy Spirit will enable you to pray the Holy Spirit will give you the words to pray and can I tell you today when you need encouragement the Holy Spirit Will edify you uh when you need strength within your body the holy spirit will give you what you need can I tell somebody today what we need today The Message Church is a good outpouring of the holy spirit is a refreshing you know one of our core values as the message church is exuberant worship and part of exuberant worship is this thing where we allow the Holy Spirit to flow and to function and move in our lives along with you know another one evangelism that's a core value that we have evangelism you know what evangelism is it's allowing the Holy Spirit to how are you to go tell somebody that Jesus Christ loves them that's what evangelism is and I don't know about you church but I need him in my life I don't want to live without the power of the Holy Spirit can I tell you this morning I'm I'm I'm wrapping up with here with this the Holy Spirit wants to move in your life more times than just in the worship service the Holy Spirit wants to move in your life when you're walking down the aisle at Walmart and you're looking at that person you're like why are you in public dressed like that the Holy Spirit Will Empower you to love that person and invite them to church you know the Holy Spirit you know what the Holy Spirit Will Empower you to do the Holy Spirit Will Empower you to live a life so that that when you do speak people listen the holy spirit will enable you to live your life in such a way that whenever uh whenever you tell somebody that you're praying for them that they know your prayers are getting through that's what the holy spirit will do in your life and that's what we need in these last days we need him to touch we need him to move we need him to pour out of his Spirit on us and when we go out of these doors we need him to empower us to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ I'm done won't you stand with me we're going to close in prayer actually we're going to sing some more I know our singers are going to be like oh you're singing so much today it's okay it's the the Holy Spirit talk to him about it oh we're going to sing some we're going to worship just a little bit more and this morning if you don't have the Holy Spirit you know I listen we'll pray for you right here I I I listen I'm all for that but I'm convinced you can receive the Holy Spirit right where you stand how great would that be you just allow the Holy Spirit to flow in you allow him this morning church we need the power of the Holy Spirit we need [Music] him we need him today so this morning they're going to sing we're going to pray while they sing and we pray will you ask the Holy Spirit to fill you you say I'm not sure it's real I'm not sure it's for me if you will just open to him say holy spirit God Jesus I don't know if this is [Music] real but I'm willing to receive it I'm willing this morning prove to me it's real lord and I promise you if you'll just lose control he'll prove to you his power he'll prove to you his anointing he'll prove to you what he can do in your life if you're not sure it's real just ask him to prove himself to you and I promise you he will will you this morning will you sing that as we the song they're singing will you will you pray It Come Holy Spirit I need you I am available to you right now for you to speak through me I'm available this morning I want what you have for me everything you've got I I don't want to hold back I want to give completely to you Holy Spirit Holy Spirit I want what you got for me let me have it give it to me oh God give me all that you've got for me Oh Come Holy Spirit I need thee I need yes Lord I need you holy ghost oh sweet Spirit [Music] yes in thy string oh let's pray let's ask him come on talk to him don't worry about the person to your right or to your left in front or behind you don't worry about people just lift your hands say God I'm available God I want everything you've got for me Holy Ghost I'm praying right now that those who are lifting their hands to you to receive from you let them receive the power of the Holy Ghost yes Lord Jesus we need you yes Lord we need you God I need you Jesus I Need I pray yes Lord Jesus strength power my Jesus we've got to have [Music] you oh I need you [Music] fresh me the living [Music] [Music] godh Jesus we've got to have you Hallelujah Jesus [Music] h [Music] [Music] [Music] You My Worship I will give you all my praise you alone I long to worship you alone are worthy of my praise I will give you all my worship I will give praise hallelujah hallelujah the Holy Spirit wants to fill you thank the Holy Spirit wants to empower you and I am so thankful this morning that he wants to do it in other places than just here it's special in the service oh it's so special but can I tell you today if you will continue with a Heart of Worship the Holy Spirit shows up in our worship that's when he shows up the most and if we will have this this Heart of Worship a desire of worship a Longing To Worship can I tell you we'll see the Holy Spirit present in all the areas the facets of our life H he wants to he wants to empower the believer so here's what I want you to do this week I want you to as you go throughout the week I want you to one Have a Heart of Worship now I'm going to warn you if you purpose that you're going to have a Heart of Worship the enemy is going to try and stop that the enemy is going to try and stop you from worshiping he's going to do things to get you irritated and aggravated and upset you're going to have to make four trips to Walmart instead of your one or you going to have to do something and the enemy is going to try and get you all worked up but put the enemy on notice not today devil right not today Satan I'm going to worship purpose in your heart to worship and see what the Holy Spirit spirit will do in your life see the difference I'm can I tell you I'm anticipating I'm expecting to hear that we had people go home from this service this morning and and they're going throughout their week and all of a sudden the Holy Spirit shows up and they come in here next week shouting and speaking in Tong wouldn't that be great Hallelujah that'd be wonderful I rejoice in that and I I celebrate now what the holy spirit's going to do this week because he's able and capable and willing we you got to let him do it amen amen you in love with Christ this morning I'm In Love With Jesus I'm in love with the Holy Spirit the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit I thank him and I rejoice in him today Amen Let Me encourage you U we've got several things happening make next make plans next week I love how the Holy Spirit orchestrates things because we're going to talk next week about reaching the lost we're going to launch our pray Ando Initiative for the for the fall the holy spirit is who empowers you to witness of Christ that's why we need him this week to empower us next
