into folks we are here today to look at the post draft depth chart for the Carolina Panthers we're going to go through it I'm going to give you my initial Impressions what I think may be off compared to what we're going to look at today but without further Ado let's do it all right y'all we are using ourlads.com pretty good resource I've used them a few times they've got all the players already added in here which makes it very easy for me to go through and say yay nay think this should be like this Etc we're going to Jump Right In folks and take a look at the ex wide receiver who they have as Deontay Johnson I think that checks absolutely he is going to be your ex number one wide receiver postra with the addition of Xavier liette Legette added to the board we'll look at the starters because I do tend to agree with what's on there now we will have this competition for the zspot and I think you are going to have Xavier liette Legette battling there whether it's Jonathan Mingo behind him or Terrace Marshall I do think those guys are going to be competing for that spot Adam thielen is your slot wide receiver we should see some reps from Amir Smith marett David Moore also in the mix as well and even Mingo I think Jonathan Mingo also has the possibility to play slot offensive line same as it ever was icky Damien Lewis Austin Corbett Robert hunt Taylor Moon again no Center picked up via the draft although you'll see the list of cf24 that means undrafted guys that are projected to sign with the Carolina Panthers has not been official Tommy Trimble tight end one I agree with this right now I do think Tommy Trimble is tight and one I think jvon JT Saunders is going to be competing with Ian Thomas for the second tight end spot on this roster but for today I think it's Tommy trimble's job to lose although I'm very excited to see JT Bryce qb1 yep hands down makes sense behind that you have Jonathan Brooks listed as rb1 because of the injury I'm bumping him to the end of the list right now so I'm gonna have chuba hover rb1 my sanders rb2 Raheem Black Shear as kind of your third back right now when Jonathan Brooks is healthy there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to be in that one to two range really competing for some snaps there's a reason the Panthers went up and drafted a running back this early absolutely the best running back in this draft class now getting I I know I've already said some of these names but getting behind as we look at second and third string teris Marshall Jr still in the Carolina Panthers has not been cut I'm interested to see how he's going to play out this year Jonathan Mingo long term is going to be here Mir Smith marett so you got that group of six receivers underneath that you got Mike stren cam Sims who's been more of a practice squad guy and David Moore who was signed again from Tampa Bay the name to watch is jayen Coker again assuming he does actually sign with Carolina Panthers he is my name and player to watch in training camp and a lot of folks are thinking that he could be competing to make this 53 man roster once we get there and you'll see a few other names that are projected to sign with the Panthers now getting into the offensive line like second string it's be kind of a weird you know just understanding what this is going to look like but Ricky Lee right now is the backup at left tackle I think you could probably say Yash Nan could swing there Kade Mays over at left guard at least right now Brady Christensen has been getting reps at Center that was confirmed you have Chandler Zavala backing up again his position in college was left guard so I don't know if he's going to swing over or not but you know second year he was a fourth round pick I do have high expectation expectations for him and I did talk about Yash getting into that like second the really third string you have JD derenzo IL Manning Nash Jensen badara trayor quite a few names there like I would expect us to carry nine nine to 10 again and maybe six wide receivers so you can already start doing the math and see that you know we gonna have a lot of number crunching tight ends Ian Thomas Steph Sullivan Matthew Jordan again Chris Pierce even further down the line I'd be looking for us to carry three and could Sullivan beat out Ian Thomas I don't know we'll see quarterback position you add in Andy Dalton still your backup Jake plumber undrafted out of louville will be coming in to take a lot of the the snaps and you know helping out as we get into the offseason programs and work out you have Derek Brown on you know not a lot of change like looking at this list no one we drafted is projected to be a starter right now on the defense you have Derek Brown Shai Tuttle asan Robinson jaavan Clowney sha Thompson Josie juel TJ willham JC horn Xavier Woods Jordan Fuller Dane Jackson Troy Hill quite a few names again new names new faces on the defensive side of the ball but right now that depth is not translating as far as players that were drafted seeing an impact right now you'd really have Xavier liette Jon Brooks and jaavan Saunders potentially as three of your starters excuse me looking at backups you have lebrian Ray Nick Thurman Jayden crummy again out of Mississippi State draft pick clayon Chason out of Jacksonville who will be competing for some snaps barno behind him ulota Trevon Wallace linebacker out of Kentucky and then Michael Barrett linebacker out of Michigan who after watching film this dude this dude can do it all I don't know if you had a chance to watch him he's been returning kicks he's over there knocking heads breaking helmets I mean what a playmaker still have DJ Johnson far as looking at the edge position and then we start looking at Deshawn Jameson who showed some promise last year Jamie Robinson who we got to see a little bit Nick Scott Caprio bu also showed a little bit of Promise so you got a few of those guys and then Chara Smith Wade I kind rounds out your second team defense we really get into you know much further down the list rayquan Williams popo omab talked about barno Chandler Lon claen cheris who I'm excited about who didn't get see you know a lot of play time last year Lui villan Lamar Jackson cornerback Sam Franklin good all Sam Franklin Alex Cook you saw a little bit of time Willie Drew and AJ Parker shaking things up on special team with Eddie Pano getting some competition the thicker kicker is his name Harrison mevis out of mouri we know Eddie Panero did not show up to optional OTAs the beginning of you know Camp here he was one of the three guys that didn't make it so we're bring in some competition it's normal to have an extra kicker but I am curious to see really how this thing plays out but that's it folks that is your updated depth chart you know is I get into really planning out over the next few months I'm going to be breaking down what I think will be the 53 men roster we still have the addition potentially a Stefon Gilmore so I'll be looking forward to see if that plays out for this team but I'm excited about what I see on paper I think some of the depth pieces that we brought in on defense are going to be able to contribute to this team and really help us out moving forward even if it's just on special teams so anyways folks this is Carolina dad y'all have a good one [Music]
