I've needed to be home more with my family these last years Angelina Julie is channeling Elegance at the 2024 Venice Film Festival the 49-year-old Oscar winner stunned at the premiere of her biopic Maria on August 29th in a nude strapless custom Tamara Ralph dress with a fa first Shaw she accessorized the look with a gold brooch and sultry red lip as she posed on the carpet with director Pablo Lorraine before heading inside the theater Angie had a sweet encounter with a fan on the carpet earlier in the day the Maleficent star looked Timeless in a breezy brown wsel dress before she switched into another backless YSL number that she wore to a press conference Angie is already getting Oscar buzz for her portrayal of the real life opera singer Maria Callis and while talking to reporter she touched on how grateful she is to return to acting after taking time off to be with her six kids I've needed to be home more with my family these last years and in that time time I've become maybe more grateful to have the opportunity to just be an artist and play and and and be among all of you to just be in this creative world that we are all fortunate to be in some way a part of so I'm I'm happy to be here and I'm and I'm grateful to to be able to be an artist in any way Angie also admitted she has a lot in common with the singer well there's a lot I won't say in this room [Laughter] okay that you probably know or assume um I think in the way I related to her may be a surprise that probably the part of her that's extremely soft and doesn't have room in the world to be as soft as she truly was and as emotionally open as she truly was um I think um I think in that in that um vulnerability I share her her vulnerability more than anything Angie's portrayal of Maria also influenced the music she listened to and she joked even her kids had to listen to a lot of Opera well now they've been listening to a lot of I mean Opera's been in our house for a while so they're quite used to Maria um and and I do hope if I can say that I hope that a lot of people that this film if anything brings more people to Opera to explore it and to and to let it affect them and move them because it's such a powerful art form and so so important um I was more of a punk and I loved all music but um you know I probably listen to The Clash more than most Angelina is at the famous festival for the global premiere of her Buzzy biopic her ex Brad Pit is also scheduled to appear at the Festival this weekend alongside his Wolf's co-star George Clooney but the two won't be running into each other Venice Film Festival are artistic director Alberto Barbara told the Associated Press they are going to Great Lengths to keep the ex's apart as they each premere their films just days apart [Music]
