10 GAY actors who played STRAIGHT roles!

Intro it's time for another top 10 video and in this week's video I'm taking a look at the top 10 gay actors who played straight roles whether it was convincing or not I'll leave that up to you I'll be mostly looking at actors from the early 2000s the ' 80s and the '90s Follow the yellow brick Jaason Simmons road Jason Simmons is a name you probably haven't heard in a long time his last acting credit was in the Asylum produced lowbudget movie 38 shark attack and he hasn't made an acting appearance since then but there was a time back in the90s when he was one of the most talked about actors in Hollywood in 1994 he joined the cast of Baywatch for 48 episodes you remember that show about lifeguards with the perfect bodies running around on the beach saving people Simmons portrayed Logan Fowler and had to keep his sexuality in the closet believe it or not the ' 80s and '90s wasn't an easy time to come out of Jonathan Bennett G Jonathan Bennett is probably the youngest actor on this week's list starting his acting career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2001 nothing in math class could mess me up hey you have a pen like but most people remember Miss Aaron Samuels from the 2004 comedy Mean Girls Bennett stated that he has always been openly gay but there was a time back in 2004 where people apparently didn't know he was gay and the fact that he played straight roles also didn't help he has since gone on to play gay roles starting in in 2020s Christmas house the Hallmark Channel's first gay inclusive TV movie in 2021 Bennett and his life partner and fiance James vaugh became the first ever gay couple to appear on the cover of the magazine the Neil Patrick Harris KN Neil Patrick Harris started his acting career in 1988 as a child actor rising to stardom as a lead actor in the TV series dookie Hower MD which aired for Four Seasons between 1989 and 1993 now on DVD Aris really came into his own when he started 1997 Starship Troopers the big batched action alien flop which was spanned by critics but s went on to become a cold classic which I've watched numerous times for the acting not not the shower scene he went on to start in some pretty good movies as well including the next Bas thing starring Madonna I simply want to fool a girl into thinking this is my apartment so I can nail her once and never have to see her again I'm not a moner most people know him from his role as Barney on How I Met Your Mother but he's no stranger to TV comedies starring in shows like Star craving mad the outter limits and willing Grace he publicly came out as gay in November 2006 and has been in a relationship with actor and Chef David berar since April 2004 hi guys come on in Welcome to our Ricky Martin crib by now everyone knows singer Ricky Martin is gay but back in the '90s he had everyone speculating about his sexuality Martin made his acting debut in a 1985 episode of The Love Boat and went on to star in various TV shows before making a switch to music after leaving the highly successful boy band menudo he returned to acting with a main role in the Mexican telen Nolla alanar unaa alella in 1991 and a series regular on General Hospital between 1994 and 1995 maybe we we should just go up to his house and do what ring the doorbell of course why Victor Garber not does the name Victor Garber sound familiar to you he made his film debut as Jesus Christ in the musical God spell in 1973 and has won several Emmy Prime Time awards for his role as Jack Bristo on Alias which aired for Five Seasons between 2001 and 2006 water 14 ft above the Keel in 10 minutes he has done voice artist work for movies like Kung Fu Panda 2 and wish and has made several appearances on TV shows like DC's Legends of tomorrow in which he played a lead role tales of the his acting debut way back in 1995 with mostly smaller roles in movies which didn't really help to further his career his professional career slowly but surely gained Traction in the early 2000s with roles in TV shows and movies like Band of Brothers Nora Spectre and Alice Through the Looking Glass Scott first public discussed the sexuality in an interview with the independent in November 2013 stating that he was glad people no longer see being gay as a character flaw or something that should Define or shape your career I'm gay as in homosexual as in uh that Matt Bomer yeah I think it's safe to say everyone knows who Matt Bower is he shot to Fame in 2009 with his role on a TV series White Collar but he started his acting career 9 years earlier in 2000 with smaller roles on the American soap opera all my children as well as Guiding Light wow uh you know pizza and videos isn't very good for me either the next couple of years so I'm taking on smaller roles and G appearances on TV shows like true calling Relic Hunter as well as the box office here Flight Plan starring jod Foster up thank God I was about to check for a pulse but it was his role on White Collar that started B fever and landed him several notable roles in movies like Magic Mike The Magnificent Seven and boys in the band Bomer has been considered by many as a dead ringer for Henry caval and did you know that they both portrayed Clark K Superman in 2013 caval starred in Man of Steel while Bower starred in the animated movie Superman Wentworth Miller Unbound went withth Miller will forever be known as Michael scoffield from prison break you remember the guy with all the tattoos from the prison drama from 2005 everyone was talking about the show and its two male leads who were thrusted into overnight Fame but Miller actually started acting long before the show aired Miller relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career in 1995 and has admitted that the road to success wasn't an easy one at all his first ever role was in a 1998 episode of the Teen Supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer followed by the 2002 miniseries Dinotopia this was followed by several smaller roles in The Human Stain underworld and Joan of Arcadia before he was cast as the lead in prison break at the height of his Prison Break popularity he denied that he was gay when tabloids tried to figure out his sexuality he came out publicly as gay in 2013 when he posted a letter on glads website declining an invitation to attend St Petersburg International Film Festival the letter was in response to the Russian lgbtq propaganda law and our number one spot goes to to none other Luke Evans than Luke Evans is a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to his acting career sure he did some West End Productions before heading off to Hollywood but he only had his first audition for a movie at the age of 30 when he landed his breakout role of the Greek god Apollo in 2010's remake of The Clash of the Titans he went on to star in the Immortals fast and a furious six Beauty and the Beast and even the Hobb Trilogy he has released two Studio albums and five singles including a dway with Nicole Kitman believe me believe me I can't tell you why though Evans is openly gay he chooses not to discuss his sexuality with the tabloids insisting that his personal life should be separate and private
