BURNLEY 1 BLACKBURN ROVERS 1 - THE FALLOUT

all square in the L sharby as Blackman Rovers came from behind to snatch a point against our bit Rivals Burnley but what has that done for the grand master plan for Blackman Rover season what today we're going to find out that's right folks back once again another video today we're going to have a grip that's right folks back once again with another video today I'm coming back with the old bit of Pride back uh in our lives over in Lasher but is that the end of the end of the tale for blackb Rovers this season or can we actually get back well I've got three faces at the other end of the line I'm going to talk all things Blackman Rovers in just one second now before we jump into the video something brand new to the channel and what is it it's the join button that's right we've gone they joined me today let uh of course we got Jacob who was at uh the game yesterday Jacob uh let's actually we've got Jacob and jonty how was it how is everybody Jacob how how are you at the the the morning after the night before um just just feeling very proud as suppose as d uh brilliant performance and yeah what a feeling after ending that 10 year drought of goals against them lot um could have asked for a better goal to do it I mean it's surely goal of his career and goal of the Season you think under the circumstances so yeah a go a goal worthy of ending that 10-year drought yeah JY I don't know how many uh Lancashire Derbies you have seen in your time and I know there was a good a good run where Rovers were on over the years and we had a good unbeaten run I don't don't know how it was like I don't know 30 or 4 years but uh but uh does this feel like a turning point maybe in in in Blackburn Rovers and maybe trying to trying to write some wrongs of the past decade or so yeah you'd like to think so wouldn't you but as we all know football changes um so quickly doesn't it the reality is you know growing up as a kid Burnley you know they were two divisions lower than us um always struggled very small town team but very passionate team you know credit where credit's due even you know 90y old Granny's pull clar and blue little shopping trolley along don't we and Burnley um so yes I've seen my fair share of derbies I've uh yeah for I would probably say uh two-thirds of supporting Rovers we've always been the dominant uh Team over them and obviously these last uh 10 to 14 years have certainly hurt um but it does feel like a turning point for us you know we're we're we're on the on the right on the right road now uh we seem a lot more stable um bit more committed um certainly saw that yesterday uh where Burnley they look a little bit shaken a bit of a wounded animal how they're going to come out of this I don't know perhaps you know you know there were signs that they are a quality team or quality individuals and maybe not the team there but yes relieved is my word that I would use today as to how I'm feeling should you ask yeah you know um watching it yesterday uh you know I felt deep down you know I don't didn't think we were able to win the game and and you know we didn't win but a point in the circumstances uh definitely feels like a win and and again going into work tomorrow morning you know in and around the area you know the guys wearing the bloom white scarfs or whatever they're going to be the ones with the smiles on their faces and those in clarent and blue spending a fortune on their players uh maybe maybe a bit of a dented Pride at long last Jacob yeah defin definitely I mean under the circumstances like you said it it definitely felt like a win and you know I'm looking at the Burnley Twitter I don't think too many of them were very active the Burnley fans after that game and those that were weren't weren't best pleased um yeah I mean to obviously to obviously Come Away with a point anyway I think most robers fans anything between their ear would have took that considering the last 14 years we've had against them but to go there and I think most neutrals would say the referee was against us um to go there and get a goal disallow that was perfectly legitimate and you know to fight with 10 men and really fight and dig in for you know over half an hour was it um and come away from the hardest away game of the year for us with a point just shows the character and the complete difference in this team compared to two years ago when or less than two years ago when we went there under John Daran you know just got absolutely decimated and you know was just embarrassing frankly and the boys can leave yesterday were feeling really proud and I'm just so glad that we've got that monkey off our back that we haven't scored a goal against him so little baby steps I suppose we've scored the goal now let's just hope we can actually get the win at Ewood yeah yeah JY like uh having a look back at those JDT years or the year should we say and that Derby what was your main difference from the Eustace performance here and that John Dar Thomasson performance uh was it two years ago is it about that two years yeah they were Polar Opposites to me and you know as you probably know from any of my previous podcasts that I've done with you I was never a JDT fan uh there was signs don't get me wrong I could see what he was trying to do God bless him but you know these these players have been nurtured to play a particular way under you know previous people coming up through the ranks and what have you and then to to suddenly make a massive almost change of culture within a club to get them playing out from the back and you know just it went against a grain so you know it it was I could see what he's trying to do but it was untested in in the championship in the Premier League to a certain extent you know only your your top top teams do that and it wasn't going to wasn't going to work and you know when you see what we're trying to do at burn League you know we we we we came a way out of that for me with a result of we lost three- nil how that wasn't six or seven I will never know I've never seen a more dominant display by an opposition and only scored three um so yeah we were Polar Opposites I know that you know it's quite overused already by ECE but this togetherness and what have you but you know what I I sign up for that now because you know if that's what that can bring in such the short period of time that he's been there um you know I'm I'm loving what I'm seeing yeah yeah there's there's going to be Scrappy games there's going to be ugly games but I think yesterday you know absolutely we start to it was a strange game I'm going to be honest with you I think you know we we had a shot in the first eight seconds didn't we it was it was Bonkers um you know and then um and then I don't know we just I don't know if it was just Sky uh but it felt like the atmosphere went a little bit dull for a period of time I don't know what it was like inside the ground um but yeah on Sky it seemed a little bit a little bit quiet um scored yeah after them lot scored we we went a little quiet I suppose but yeah now I was meeting the Burnley fans sort of like they were they they seemed quiet and nervous because I mean you you normally hear about managers shutting the home crowd up you know as soon as possible and for me unless it was just on sky that that felt like we've done that after two minutes you know so no definitely the the Burnley fans only really picked up after they scored um and then just in drips and drops uh they they weren't brilliant the the fans that were next to us are always vocal but the rest of the ground were pretty silent to be honest most of the game I think the fans next year I mean I went you know two years ago um and I don't think they they watched one kick of the one kick of the game to be fair I think they were they were just looking directly at Blackburn fans all all the way through bless them so um but yeah Polar Opposites performance I'm I'm liking what I'm seeing under ECE um together that that team spirit that fight that that Pride that you know wearing the shirt you know it's all of that stuff and you know we're going to lose games of course we are but you know we we we'll go down fighting you know um in in a game sort of thing so yeah and you were there you were there Jacob watching it the Flesh in the breathing in that dodgy air around turd Moore um but uh you know some some there were some key individual performances and I know when we look back at that performance we're not going to be the the team that everyone thinks we were playing the the most attractive attacking football it was a defensive team performance especially at the end when we were down to 10 men but from the from the you know the the starting Personnel who was the the the your man of the match you know I know a lot of people giving it to the youngster Owen Beck a lot of other ones were chucking Travis in the middle you know he got an early yellow card in that and he had to manage the rest of that game you know with that little uh little um you know thing hanging over his to to discipline himself because I was worried we we were we were getting far too many yellows and I would I knew a red card was coming but um I was hoping we had a bit more discipline in us um but yeah who who for for you uh was your standout yesterday in this solid team effort I've I've had my tech shot since coming back to Darwin Derk don't worry about me um but yeah as you said the the ref was way too card happy for me usually the refs let a little bit more go in these types of games and he was just the complete opposite it was all about him yesterday unfortunately and obviously the red card kind of filled what could have been an exciting end to the game because it was just really us Clinging On at the end there as you would expect um in terms of my man of the match I think I think uh I think I'd have to give it to Owen Beck he he he had a really dodgy first 10 minutes or so and I said to my mate I said oh God this doesn't look good like they're just going to Target him here and you know being chucked in at the deep end like that your very first game hardest game of the season um but bloody H stepped up after that and I do think they probably went out there the Burnley fans and saw that as a weakness in the team got Target him and uh you know after he roded those first 10 minutes he just he stepped into his game and to be honest I think even if pickin's fit for the next game even though pierin hasn't stepped to foot wrong with ear this season I think after that performance he's got to start Beck um I think Beck can be a hell of a lot better than Pickering can be from what I've seen yesterday um pickering's a steady player but he's you know's he's never gonna be anything more than that in my eyes it was yeah it was definitely uh throw in in the deep end so really it's I'm not goingon to say it's going to get easier but this was on paper going to be our most difficult match on the road for sure and uh to come through that with such high praise um yeah it's going to leave some some headaches which is which we want we want the coach the man and the picture right now John us to have some selection headaches he's gonna have them and we'll talk maybe about them in a little bit more like goalkeeper situation where do you fit in your new Marquee man number eight uh kwell you know he's uh you know a lot of and back the back Pickering decision is is just the early one but there's going to have to be some selection headaches to find his his dream 11 J do do you agree with his his uh you know endorsement of Beck for man of the match last night or yesterday yeah to to be thrown into that that that type of game and to come out the other side you know as as as as a hero essentially wasn't he then yeah it says he he he had a very very solid game and it's exactly what we talked about yesterday wasn't it Durk about you know um I think what you'll see is Harry Pickin now picking up his game even more in in training and obviously he's going to have to wake up smell the coffee and um and realize that you know what he's got competition now so I think you know it's it's only a positive thing when all of these players that were sat out on the bench even I don't know if you saw it but Sky cut to a shot on the bench and you saw Joe ranking Costello sat in the background and he looked as miserable as Sin but good that's brilliant because you know the guy wants to be out there but I think you know another call out you obvious I was just going to say jont t made me miserable on Tuesday against you you and me both you and me both yeah that was probably his worst performance and yeah I'm sure we'll talk about this but you know so I'll steal my own uh Thunder early but Joe ranking costell was by far at his best under John D Thomasson um you know and unfortunately we've not seen him up to the same standards under Eustace but I'm sure we'll we'll either cover that that off later or or perhaps another day but I think a special call out for me for Hayden Carter um I thought he had a Fant fantastic game I thought tronstad did the ugly stuff brilliantly you know he won't get a lot of plaits uh from from yesterday but I think right the way through the team you know even Tyree stolen again wasn't his best game but he he was just a nuisance and you know just running at them so I think it was a a real team effort I know it's a cliche but it really really was there was a couple of outstanding you travs and and Beck as well uh but no I think even Callum Britain you know he he had his work out down the right hand side down his right hand side so yeah it was just a brilliant performance to see yeah and I think the man in the picture does deserve a bit of credit as well eustus for his management of this game as well you know it's been a little bit bumpy ride with the subs he's made in previous games I think I think uh definitely Oxford was it Oxford no Norwich when they we made massive substitutions came to bite Us in the backside Blackpool the same made was it five subs and then we conceded two goals straight after but you know he played it right this time didn't go sub happy and again he had the kones as they say to bring on young Duru the last time where they got Joe Rank and Castell sitting on the bench to take over from Britain I was thinking oh my days you know this is a this is a ballsy call by Eustace but he you know he believed in what he saw on the Tuesday from Duru which he was he again I think was was was my man of the match in a a poor R Performance um but to give him a a baptism of fire as well uh and in the circumstances with the game on the line really down to 10 men Duru get on you know that a very ballsy move by usus which paid off and we're starting to see that uh you know that nowe or you know little um you know because the N under JDT even under mry some some of his calls were you know from the touch line were pretty poor there's also rumors I don't know again you maybe elaborate on this one Jacob about sending uh m in to do some some training warm up and getting Embark in orders to the players while um while John Eustace is you know by by The Dugout so good little little you know G or dark arts coming out to to The Fray here which which we've been screaming out for years uh to to to try and incorporate into our game and those little moves and little tweaks are going to make us more harder to beat and and yeah so good moves by Eustace what are your thoughts on on the the head coach's uh recent well the start of the season I mean it's been brilliant I think it's more than any rers fan expected I don't think many of us would have expected I mean obviously we're not counting Blackpool here but to to going unbeaten in the league um you you looked on paper and you know people can say oh well we're playing two newly promoted sides it's the worst time to play these sides we dispatched of both of them um and then you're going to Norwich and Burnley away I mean you would take two two wins from your home games you win your home games and draw your away games and you're going places aren't you so uh it's it's just it's just a complete start contrast to JDT in pretty much every way really and um I think he personifies being a blackb manager I think we have to be a some of our parts you look at the difference in the money on the pitch yesterday today yeah the heart and desire was there for all to see the goal comes from just a big hoof up the pitch to Big M toe nods it down for vman just to hit it and you know you never would have saw that under John do and just getting rid of dead wood like Sam Gallagher you know what I mean like just a breath of fresh air getting rid of getting rid of people who were stealing a living here and it just feels like everyone who's here now bleeds blue and white and I think we're in for a good season season I I don't want to get ahead of myself but there's just a there's just a feeling this year and it would be so Rovers to make playoffs the Year everyone had us to go down wouldn't it yeah there it's it's definitely positive signs early doors and again we'll talk about minut positive transfer window yeah getting rid of you know you know it's it's not a brave move by by them it was it was the right move to get rid of Sam Gallagher you know most expensive man uh on wage uh on the on the table and and send them off The Stoke and you know already we're seeing a bit of bit of uh sorry to cut you off there but as well as that obviously just sending the kids out on La as well you got to think last time we played this game we had Jake Garrett in Midfield you know and yesterday we had two absolute you know battalions there in Travis and sandre you know like you said did the Dirty Work and someone like SRE always kind of goes a bit unnoticed for the work he does but he was another one who was brilliant yesterday yeah just sending the kids out who aren't at this level Yar Condes your Garett your baties and just giving them a chance to actually play men's football because that's the only way it's the only way we're gonna kind of get they bleed them into this side isn't it yeah 100% 100% because I I went to the under 21s a couple of weeks ago against Chrystal Palace I mean the score line was not pretty um at all I don't know if you saw it but it it finished Rovers uh to Palace 7 um now to the to the untrained eye you would think oh my God that's a horrendous score line and what does the future hold for us but actually it wasn't that bad we went two-nil down we went in uh two nil down at halim um didn't feel like a two-nil palace just hit us a couple of times and and made the most of it in the final third we got into the final thir plenty of times just didn't do much with it coming to the second half um we got a goal back back 2-1 we're still having a go at them they made it 3-1 on the break we start having a go at them they made it uh 4-1 then it 42 and then there was three crazy goals I've never seen anything like it before in my life it was literally it was a bit like the Bournemouth game yesterday against Everton where there was literally three goals in six minutes in in in in almost stoppage time um to make the score line look absolutely ridiculous but it literally wasn't that that as bad as that but yeah but no you're right your people like your jack veils and your mark Andes you know get get them out get them playing decent football and you know hopefully they'll come back into into a squad which by that time will have jelled will have been fired on all cylinders and they'll be improving each each day you know because they'll be competing against each other as well yeah and and Tra Switching gears to to the other side of Lanier you know there is a I guess a star studed Squad they had they had I'm going to give them a little bit bit of uh uh something here you know they did have a bit of a tur turmoil or roller coaster kind of week um with a lot of R going out uh and there was some you know uh uncertainty as who was going to be there who was going to play but at the end of the day you know did any did were you impressed with any of their players performances I I definitely didn't really rate their keeper um I thought I thought maybe Jaden Anthony on On LAN was was a handful on on the one side but you know uh for for for you at at the scene Jacob anyone that caught your eye on for their side of the coin and probably be jayen Anthony um I think the rest of them had quite mediocre performances to be honest warl was a bit of a handful for marar I think he was definitely winding him up um and I think was you know definitely I think they definitely targeted matar with that he matar was having to shrug him off and push him around a bit um but you want that from your Center forward you want someone who's passionate and if he's a big Target man you don't want him to be bullied about de so you know even though he got sent off I thought MTO still had a brilliant game yesterday and the goal doesn't come without him nodding it down so people need to remember that um but yeah I think Anthony had a good game um he was he was definitely a handful um but I I think uh obviously as you say they've had they've had a turbulent couple weeks they've lost so much of their team Parker wouldn't have had a clue at the start of the week what team he was going to be putting out against us In fairness so in many ways you know I seen Burnley fans saying you've missed your best opportunity to beat us look at the circumstances we're under but you know at the end of the day we were going there 10 years of not even scoring a goal so yes it was the perfect time for us to play them I'm just glad we've kind of took that first step now we we've scored the goal and yeah let's just hope when he gets to January uh which isn't that far away really um we're we're ready at Ewood to to give him a proper game because from what I saw yesterday I I genuinely think we beat him at Ewood if if they're still playing like that come January how do you think it would have if if big Mack hadn't been sent off what do you think the result would have been it's a good question it is a good question and uh and I don't I actually don't want don't want to think about it because I think it could have I think the sending off in a way kind of you know we we we we shrank back held back held on it became more of a you know now we really I I think we may have lost it actually I think we could have even lost it because we we um you know don't get me wrong there were even moments when we were down to 10 men where we nearly snatched it Travis at the end I think there was another chance uh I think Yuki was involved with with an opportunity could we could have got a go yeah I think we could have snatched it with with a 10 men but with 11 you know I don't know is a good question and and I but I I would have it would have been an interesting to see how it would have panned out but I I don't know I think we may have been a little bit more eager I don't know I really don't know it's it's it's difficult to call but yeah it's a tough one Jacob what do you think I think uh I I think I said this after the game it could have been the best thing that happened to us really going down to 10 men just to kind of then be right we're content with a draw now let's you know sit back 20 yards whereas obviously as I said the referee did really Rob us of what would have been a cracking end to the game it would have been I think quite gungho um maybe not until like you know the last five 10 I think at that point nus would have said right let's sit back we'll take the point we're away from home um you know it's definitely more than Point gain to us when it is to them in that sense uh but I think you know from he got sent off around the 60th in he I think 60th to the 80th at least it would have been a lot more exciting than it was yeah I it's it's a tough one to call I just I thought we were just starting to get more into the game we were getting a bit more Rhythm into the game we were relaxing so I I'm on the other side I think we might have just gone on a nicked one Dirk if you cast your mind back literally just over 24 hours ago my call was two1 Rovers I said Burnley were going to score first we would get an equalizer and then nickin on the 80th minute so when Tyrese Dolan had that shot about the 80th minute I all I was thinking about was youo thinking see this is gonna happen but that wasn't to me and then the Trav shot at the end but guys we we we need to talk more about our goal don't we surely to God I mean what a goal I mean I I can't remember and I've seen some goals but I can't remember a better goal for a long time can you can you name me any better goal than that in the last 10 years forget forget forget the the the dby side of it just full stop well I was gon to say like definitely not a score seen a better goal in this in this fixture um you know but I think against the the opposition if we we we scratched out the name Burnley and put whoever in there with the the players and the values and you know that team is an expensive team and to score that goal in that scenario under pressure the weight of expect it's just is a phenomenal goal like I you know I know Adam Armstrong scored from like the halfway line against ciff that was a pretty pretty spectacular goal but I think that was a covid goal when didn't have the crowd there to really was it co goal it might have been a CO goal um it's hard to tell it because Cardiff is pretty empty anyway isn't it so you're not sure if it's during during uh during Co or not but yeah I just I think the how technically difficult that goal was because it came across his body and it you know he literally if he hit that straight that would end up in the Rovers fan probably about 20 20 yards left in the pole sort of thing so to to allow it to bounce across his body and then on the outside of his boot to get that curl on you could have two keepers in that net and neither of them would have got anywhere near it well what if I spun it this way you know because because it you know the the Mark Harris goal against us in Oxford was was similar would you would you which was a better strike you know hey I'm all Wyman I'm all Wyman in this conversation but you know it was very much a similar sort of strike but this one definitely had more significance uh uh behind yeah har Harris goal for me was a great goal you know it was beul cushioned down for him he was kind of he had his body set to hit it from there you know and it and it was a great goal but I think the fact that if you look at um Wyman's goal yesterday is because he still you know I say if he if he hit that ball straight a bit like Harris did then it ends up in the Rovers fans but for it to cut across his body on the outside of his Boot and to put that in as accurately as it did it was like and bearing in mind it was whyman correct me if I'm wrong that had the first shot in the first 10 15 seconds when Trafford you know sort of almost have the audacity to do that again the guy goes down instantly in in in fol law history in R was for scoring that goal that I think the magnitude of that goal I think we'll talk about this for years and years to come because I think it was just technically brilliant it was it was a it was a I could not believe it when it went in I was stunned and uh the fact that we scored but the it was of of goals to score if you were going to do it that is definitely the way to have done it and uh to site I think yeah and and I'm sure because because you know at one point when they when they when they scored their goal I felt oh I felt we could be three or four here if we're we're not getting it to to score at that point in the game it did uh you know I know there wasn't very much of a noise coming from the home side but it definitely silenced them up and and definitely kind of made them rethink the whole equation of this match and think hang on a minute we they've got they've got some actual players here now and um you know we we might be a little bit lucky to to get anything out of it because that was a Wonder strike but we talked about it you talked about it what about Steve Steve how are you tell us about your thoughts about that Wonder strike that saved us yesterday Banger right yeah we were just saying it have we seen a better goal uh well I know that Shir scored some rippers back in the day but can you recall in the last five eight years of a a better goal than that um well I don't know if you well two guys new go to right like um the game that game against Fulham a few years back 2-1 I think him and pedon both both from a corner right more than a few years yeah I was say they were some special players and and and then we got this this this Wyman on the free which is I think already proved to be great business it seems to be some of that like a missing ingredient that we had this you know he's not a whipper snapper he ain't no uh aging veteran but he's just a good age um and hopefully he will be able to add to those uh to those couple of goals he's got ready but yeah think we're going to be seeing him replace I think this will be our goal of the season and I'm hoping it's going to be in the mix for the championship goal of the season but uh um yeah the so let's talk about the goal that wasn't the ghost goal or you know the Tyrese one you were there again uh Jordan not Jordan Jaden whatever bloody hell J it's early in the morning it's early in the morning Jacob uh and uh it's 7:47 just barely barely got a coffee down me with Jaden Anthony I'm disgusting Jaden Anthony bloody Jordan whatever Jordan roads um the goal that wasn't when I when when they when they showed it on the on the box here I I didn't know what was going I thought they they're talking out their ass I said there there's not wrong with this goal and then then I tried to make excuses I thought maybe there was this Clash over here maybe he was offside I don't know they played it back a couple times didn't see no offside and I was like what is what is going on what was your point of view live in the flesh I I thought it was a goal uh I started celebrating and uh just can imagine the dingles were giving a bit after it got disallowed um but yeah uh apparently it was supposedly given offside uh you know people were saying no was it a foul or Hedges fouled someone or something like that I don't know uh but yeah apparently it was given offside and just blatant wasn't so we were daylight robbery really um and yeah just gutted in a way um but I mean it is what it is I think we we definitely take the point but um Burnley can find the S feeling a bit lucky to be fair in that regard because you know as I've already mentioned the referee was definitely in favor of them yesterday um so so so many times where we got a yellow card for say stopping a Counterattack and then they do exactly the same thing to our player and no yellow card comes out scratching my head there uh but yeah I mean the Burnley fans seemed to think the referee was on our side because apparently we should have had another sending off but you know just uh play bi us there I suppose yeah well when when like after that go was in the the first half right it was in the that yeah so I I I went halftime at a quick look at Twitter and and the vibe was like the referee's going to have someone's going to have a word in his ear to say you know you got that one wrong and then maybe the second half they would he would be a little bit more in favor of us but of course it wasn't the case yeah still you know definitely pulled up those clar and blue Underpants that he had on underneath and really ramped it up let's talk about briefly johy the red card the you know the deciding factor of it all it was a little Silly by the man uh you know Big Mac himself but yeah was it was it Justified well I mean you've got to you've got to zoom out in situ situations like this and look at the the whole officiating of the game so just a briefly touch on the tie goal um was it offside categorically not Sky confirm that um but even hedge's clash with their Defender I don't know his name I'll call him numpty um even even with the Clash there it was after the ball the ball had gone past then the The Clash was so Tai was still going to pick up the ball and still score with it that Defender numy was never going to catch him anyway so um you know so for me absolutely perfect goal but remember that was the linesman that gave it so this is why I'm giving the the full context but going back to what Jacob said before is in the whole cont he was stopping the game and in Derbies like this any referee needs to you can't just keep stopping the game for you know a slight niggle or something like that it's a derby these are gonna happen just let the game Flow you know so so then we go on to the silly yellow cards so going to Big Max first yellow card never yellow card it was a niggle don't do that again big Mark move on with your life sort of thing don't give a yellow card but you know so was it a red card probably not because it shouldn't have been book for the first one do you know what I mean it's but I can understand why he's doing this because big Ma's right if you look at the again the Burnley Defender don't know which one it is so I'll call him numpty two for the argument of this he's got his arms all around him he pushes he takes him to the floor so Big Mac's gonna be annoyed because he's had that done to him about three or four times and Burnley haven't been booked for it we go and get a silly booking for something a lot less than that and and and this is why he's basically saying I don't think his point is he's giv a yellow card he's probably saying Hang on we're getting books all over the field and you know so that surely has to be a yellow card but the fact that he's he's done the gesture if he'd said it to the referee referee you know hang on I've got there's been four or five instances you've not bought one of their why you're not doing that he probably would have got away with it but the fact that he's done the gesture which is it's just naivity it's just stupid isn't it it's silly but you know everyone loves a Big Mac I'll still love him um you know it's come to know wasn't it so yeah I mean I think uh I saw on Twitter or something or in the Belgium League where he come from that don't think that's a UK specific you know that I think that's right across UAA sort of thing so I think that's just Twitter being Twitter but I might be completely wrong but um that's my understanding of it yeah I think the context of the the context of it though really like it's a guy also it's obviously such a little thing for to give a second yellow yeah and then like for um ex everything that you just said in terms of like it's been happened to him like three or four times during the game um it's a massive Derby having a second yellow for that reason is a is really light and then also he's like it's like his second or second game third game in like in England so like again his English probably isn't a as strong so by doing the action it's just showing what he is saying so he probably not thinking like oh this is going to get me sent off it's just he's just trying to think of how to express himself so that the referee can understand what he's saying definitely a culture thing definitely a culture thing not you know not what he's used to uh I think yeah I think I think maybe maybe the referee could have been a bit more professional and said h on a minute fella you know you you can't be doing that right like right now and just give him a a word in his ear but the commentators on my on my feed here they fed into the fact that he had previous a previous record of of red cards in in the Belgian league so he's not like he's not like no Gary liner who never picked up a yellow or whatever you know he he had a he had a bit of a rep which is you know besides the impact of this game fortunately we we come out of it you know squeaky clean looking pretty you know proud of ourselves but if we had lost this game you know his his uh his reception from the faithful might be a little bit more negative but um silly boy but I think Steve's on on to something there because if you cast your mind back to any signs saided was having to translate for him weren he uh so I think it it probably it probably was just a genuine in case of frustration and he probably would have said it to the referee I suppose if he could have BJ I don't speak no English something like that yeah and then no red card or I don't know but hey it changed the game it CH like we talked about before you were here Steve it it probably despite this going down to it probably saved us a point in the end because we came you know we we reverted into a shell and we became more of a a unit to break down uh and I want to get your you know synopsis of of that that match experience of you know uh what is your take from the result it's a it's a good result in my eyes good wonder goal everything seemed to be pretty pretty good you know at the end of the day I like I said to the guys earlier if you're working in and around the area tomorrow you're the ones with a smile on your face and then the clarent blue lot are going to be they all grumpy on a Monday morning what's your your your take on the the performance the result you know yeah I like well I'm guessing what you've already discussed I I'm not taking like any negatives from it at all really it's like all positive like we were discussing last time um about like this is possibly out of the next four or five games is one that we probably end up losing we managed to get a point out of it um and like in terms of the M when it was it like 10 year I saw the other like during half time they were talking about the last time we actually won a game against Burnley was with Sam allise so like like like in the context of that like they have got much they've got a premier league Squad despite losing half their squad um but that money's been spent like um within the team I saw before this transfer window that like in this this transfer window they'd spent more than we had had in the last 10 years combined so um if you look at all all them details in terms of the actual team themselves like they had like a lot of fight like you can tell that they were like they were up for it it was a it was a derby game and like with the actual match itself even if you watching as a neutral it was it was enjoyable it wasn't like like when we were getting absolutely dick 3-nil like um but like yeah I don't I wouldn't say I listened to a few of the interviews with like Scott Parker and stuff and they said that he's been he was saying that they were like the dominant team but I don't see that at all I think it was it was pretty even if you're looking at it from a neutral side of things but um yeah I think it's all positives because you got the again it's like how I said when we went down to League one the team started like making you like fall in love with them and I think slowly um mainly for Eustace really like this this team that he's putting together you're actually starting to kind of enjoy rather than just expecting mid-table MH yeah well I think I think I think yesterday he's got a lot of credit in the bank now as well I think you know he's definitely going to be in more favor than he was going into the season I think people very much not made really made the Mind upon him but uh I think after yesterday I think he'll have won a few fans over well yeah sorry like looking in like I was hearing some bery fans talking about Scott getting SP Scott Parker in and basically they were saying like if they go up this season it's not a manager that you'd expect to keep you in the Premier League but then when like because you look at like company and stuff they just don't want to change the style of plays so it's all right in this league with like the whole JDT like good football passing and like being attack of but then when you get up you just want to get points so like like I know this is like a lot of Hope but if you end up going up with Eustace that style of football to keep you in the Premier League is the kind of football that you really need um but yeah yeah it's a lot of positives I'd say and with with Eustace uh I'd say the credit is you know getting a point against this lot you know if we turned you know like you said going back to samier over the last time any manager can from Rover's point of view can say that they got something against them six-fingered freaks down the road you know we go through Tony mry JDT you know who else had had a had games I know we we went a good few years without playing them but you know think had a couple yeah yeah again and and uh uh so so to get a point not not you know not just get a point get a point at their place and with that in the scenario that we have 10 men for 30 minutes I was thinking I was thinking you know I was actually making excuses oh we got go this allowed oh we're down to 10 men you know if because I I thought they're gonna they're gonna stick three past us now uh but no we were and and I did I did over celebrate a draw yesterday I did I uh got very excited and um but the scenario you know there they got like a 300 I do I might have elaborated 300 million Squad um compared to our you know but most we spent was on Big Mac I think 1.8 million or whatever um and and that's that's quite a marquee signing for us uh in a way but you know hey this I think this was you know a great result in the grand scheme of things for Rover I think also what you know what we've not touched on the fact that Burnley didn't have one shot at goal from minute 25 so bearing in mind we played what 40 minutes without sorry with 10 men so you know there was he got sent off on the 60th and there was eight minutes additional time which was more nearer to 99 anyway so we' played 40 minutes which is almost a half against yeah essentially you know Premier League individuals I won't say a Premier League team but Premier League individuals and and they've not even had a shot on target which is just phenomenal you know defending I I think Scott Parker's a little bit deluded he said that we we were rushed and we you know we we were dominant and things like that no you weren't know you were crap you know let's be honest but um you know all all of this I mean yes we've got the international break now but you know we for me for this result to be a result we now need to go and get something at Preston you know and and and that's very very similar if you remember back to last time we played Burnley at their place our next game was then against Preston uh at home wasn't it and that was unforgivable because we got [ __ ] off Burnley 3-0 uh away and then we we we came back to eward after the international break was it and we thought oh it's all right we've we we've got Preston and yeah we we won't get beat at home against Preston four four goals and 4-1 later and that was that and you know it's just yeah but Preston's away isn't it so that's um it is and they've they've had a really really Torrid start to the season which is brilliant but you just know that they're going to rock up when when Rover turn up well I was looking at the that I don't I didn't know I didn't know how quick that was I knew it was coming up but and I was worried I thought heckin Boton got him got a good result and then they smashed him in the cup but they just got tonked yesterday was it by Oxford they just turn him over 31 yeah Preston went down to men at 2-1 I think it was and he I'm not I was a little bit I thought maybe Hecker Bots got tune out of this team but I think uh it was just that new manager bounc at the maybe they'll revert back to back to them them them their their you know broken selves a little yeah sh uh so but yeah we we we we we'll we'll I think we'll close out this here uh just uh you know great result fantastic now a chance to to regroup and and maybe a bit of a selection headache for Eustace because there you know there's going to be some players now knocking on the door to start you know do we stick with back did we change goalkeeper well before we go you know goalkeeper is one of the most important positions in the team you know why did you rate pairs yesterday under the circumstances of the of the Derby there Jacob I mean he as Johnny said he didn't really have too much to do to be fair um but you know there were there were times where command did the Box well uh come out and punched a few things uh in that second half you know when our back were against the wall um I'm just thankful it wasn't one of pe's games like a Sheffield Wednesday but it wasn't exactly um a leads away performance either where he turned into Superman so we just got average pairs yesterday and yeah unfortunately there was no saving that goal there was no way even there's no one even near L Foster what was disappointing really in the Box yeah you know the the striker unmarked in the Box um but yeah he couldn't have done anything about that goal and uh no he didn't really put a fo wrong to be fair but didn't really do too much right either to be honest no you know yeah that goal from you was a great cross J D good good good goal for foster there was a couple of little flappy punches which start to being a bit of a common theme with uh with matey boy there so decision time up ahead and and we'll talk about that day I think it's as as we kind of touched on in the last pod I think it's everything we kind of needed from this window is kind of Danny BFF um experienced at this level you know he's been around the block we needed to get that average age up um and like I said before I think you know looking at the team when we went there last time to Turf more less than two years ago compared to yesterday it's just night and day in terms of the Personnel in terms of the experience and I I you know I think as you mentioned mcfan coming to coming out to warm up and he was basically just there as you know coach on the side lines you know bit like Aldo was in that Euro final a few years ago um just you know stuff like that will will help and obviously when they're around the younger Lads and stuff in training that so he's not going to start too many games but I think he's obviously first choice if High more Carter gets injured and I think he's more than solid so uh I think I'll go with uh think bang oh my goodness me I did not like that guy he has been linked with laus uh this past window like they were going to spend cash on them hard earned cash I will never understand why I I don't know uh and we've got a WhatsApp group and people all around me knew how much I didn't like the guy how how useless it was like we were playing with 10 men honestly and I can't remember who we're playing but I didn't go to it it was on sky and every single time the opposition scored and it was one of the our heavier defeats um Morton had something to do with it he either didn't go and put a challenge in or he passed it badly and it went straight to their player it was every single goal that they scored was because of a Tyler Morton and I was pausing it recording it rewinding it recording it sending it to the WhatsApp group saying now do you understand and eventually I managed to influence everybody around me and we just had this this this Tyler Morton section that people didn't like it I wish him well don't get me wrong but he's just not not not good enough for me I I think I think he he we we had him a year too soon I think in hly was a little bit better and you know they were praising him and whatnot and now of course from that loan at Hall now now lusen are looking at him and all we're looking at him I don't think they got him but uh he he he wounded me off the clock when he left and went to hall because he said I in his whole interview he said uh I'm delighted to sign for a bigger Club yeah was like uh kadra as well said that shy stuff about uh you know when they joined Sheffield United or yeah some little so some poor choices some by these youngsters where do we settle on this guy though where do we go um I'll go for a steady seal until I see him kick a ball because you know I think it it could be exciting couldn't it we've we've had some you know decent decent young players through so yeah let's go for see let's hope he is more van heck than Moran left back and a keeper and then we got more than that so um I'd give it a solid B to be honest you say a b a b yeah because like I'm only going based on like the talk of apparently being like the um the best left back in the Scottish League last season Y um about the well yesterday he didn't really put a foot wrong he seemed like he needed a little bit more confidence and a little bit more like work with the within the team but in being thrown into to the derby straight away like probably having like a three days would you say like training with the team like I think he was pretty solid yes yesterday so like yeah it's exciting also as well I think um we just kind of needed it because we haven't had competition in that left pack position for for like for years really right well we we we had CR last time but you know whatever but but it hey are you're right cuz I that was one of the main sticking points was like when we saw Britain as a left back you know that just take he took an extra time to get it back on his right foot to Ping AC cross in so I'm all about having the right the right Square pegs in the square holes sort of thing have the right people we haven't had a naturally left foot well you can say Chris but I think he was seen more attack ofely last season for us right um but um with Pickering since he joined like yeah pushing was it I wouldn't again I wouldn't say there was any competition really so it's quite exciting to see him as a prospect to challenge yeah so we got a solid B for ow and now we're got to go some more established folks we're going to go with uh okay we're gonna go he's definitely won the fans on side back um he's already got his own chant after his performance yesterday rang through a few times so uh he's definitely got fans on side which will happen after a good performance against theml with with with that in mind uh or let's say all fit squad for Bristol City do you stick with him or do you bring back Pickering they want I definitely give that a chance I don't rate Pickering that highly as I said before he's a steady Eddie but he's too slow for me and I think Beck can definitely be I mean I didn't realize he was the best left back in the Scottish League last season but yeah I think he that was playing for Dundee that was like a team that's not like a Glasgow team it's like a a team that's going to struggle so to be team of the season and being a left back you know ironically ironically now you know that Billy lad that we had on loan from Liverpool Billy yeah him yeah I mean he he he came in for that one game um and I thought he was brilliant at left back for us was it a cup game and then um and but he's actually at Dundee now he's on loan at Dundee so it's like those two have done a swap so but I did I did see that as well I was looking through the transfer stuff uh so yeah so that's it' be great to see if he gets in or again competition for places is solid we'll go with with a Roundup of the earlier transfers so Jake if you get a nice easy one I'll give you a Big Mac here and where you going to rank rank him uh from what we've seen so far and the money we paid where does he go again like I I was expecting you know I was hoping he'd be you know 10 15 goals a season man and he might be that but it's his overall play right now you know is he's in people's business getting suspended unless something magical happens but uh yeah what where you ranking this chap H I'm I'm between A and B I'll be honest with you just I think the main reason being we just haven't had a proper Center forward for years now so it's just it's it's refreshing to actually you know see one I mean obviously we had Adam Armstrong for a while there but like a proper you know Center forward I'm thinking like Danny Graham that's the last time we had a we had a proper one um and I think for the money as well it seems a bit of a steal and I'm just I'm just so glad he's hit the ground running uh which is the main thing really to you know come into the league and I've already got a few assists like you said just a link up play is already there he's only going to get better you would think um I think I'll go away you know I think for the for the money I think we've done some really good business there few years ahead of him hasn't it yeah definitely and and the little sideb this I I noticed it before spoke with that uh Liam from from Burnley side they were actually linked with him a couple years ago with company they were they were going to make a beard um I think company didn't fancy at the time so you know he you know strike me as a company player I'll be honest wow I think maybe back then he was you know two years or or maybe more than that since since that point so he's maybe uh either changed you know he's definitely more you know he scored more goals now I think than than he did back then so he saw something in the Belgian Leagues with at him but opted against it but uh yeah he was worried about Big Mac you know uh scoring against them because it would have been a kind of like a sweet harmony you know what I mean been linked and then now to score against them but I guess he had some influence in the game no just just not a good one in the end okay so we'll go on to JY and maybe maybe your favorite maybe your favorite uh Mr Wyman could be ranking him I think this is a no-brainer isn't it for uh he's just got to go straight in a for that goal single-handedly even if he didn't play another game all season for Blackman Rovers he's he's an a signing for me no really impressed with him he's what bagged was yesterday's second goal um and yeah he's just yeah he he I mean he started against Blackpool and he didn't look quite as on it but man you no nor did any of the team so you know let's cut him a bit of slack here um but no I think it's a brilliant signing going from Bristol City the guy's a household Championship player is a typical kind of guy that you know he he will help you get up there into the playoffs maybe even get promoted but unfortunately you probably won't take him take take him with you into the Premier League unfortunately probably be the first out the door just a brilliant Championship player uh the fact that we all know him before he even claims the club says that he's a he's a household Championship player um but no I think he he'll bring not only what he does on the field but I think also off the field as well I think he's he's just a brilliant character absolutely fully warranted a a yes anyone yeah C hero for sure yeah uh Steve you're going to get our Japanese import Mr ohashi oh well if we're given the other two A's he's got to get an A as well right based on this start um I just like yeah like the goals he's got already um even when he came on yesterday um like he was making a nuisance of himself like the press that he's been doing from being not the biggest type of guy um but still be yeah exactly um kind like dare I say like we might have had smodic leave but we've got another Terrier in replacement of him um yeah like great signing I'd say um from from all aspects even like the nonf football side of things like from like um dipping into the Asian market and from like the commercial side of things it's only going to generate more revenue for the club so the money we spent on him as well 100 Grand was it it's an absolute steal yeah I think that that was that was a was a big feather in the cap for the recruitment team you know pick it you know I know John Park was up there at Glasgow and you know I know Celtic were doing a lot of deals under an in the Japanese market and uh I guess you know I think his knowledge John Park um was he at rers before with under mry I think he might have been in in the in the part of his staff back in the day but um yeah I think him with with uh I don't know if Rangers ever did did any Japanese signings but just just the the caliber just the madness that it is that we we dipped into the Japanese Market it does seem a little bit more common now though like I think a whole there like about maybe eight to 10 Japanese players now in the championship which is great H but the the fact that we signed him from a Japanese Club not a European Club plucking him out of thin air is um I think great bit of business now Jacob you're going to get of a curve ball because we don't know too much about the gu uh and it's the goalkeeper Hoff sounds like something from Star Wars is he going to change our galaxy see what I did there L said about that J the um I mean yeah like you said the we we we know literally nothing about him and you know people were giving you a bit of grief on Twitter and I stuck up for you DK you know appreciate it appreciate it we we knew we knew nothing about Kaminsky before he joined David reyer we we plucked from you know the Barcelona B team or whatever um you know and even I think someone even mentioned Brad fredel or whatever like no one knew anything about him before we got him so um yeah I mean what what was to say this couldn't be a good signing um I think this was the the main signing we needed this window he's a good age he's not really young like Leopold where he's still kind of learning his craft and you know he was it was too I think it was a step too far for w said last season to come in at that age and be number one but you would you would hope this guy being a good age he's apparently the best Keeper in the Hungarian League not that that's saying too much I guess but you know um I think considering I think most fans UNAM unanimously thought that we needed a keep and P needs to you know at least be challenged or be number two um I think I've got to go B because I think it's I think he I think he'll work his way into this side and I think we'll end the season with him as number one personally well that's where I was going to go with this like coming with Bristol City next do we already change it up or do we do we give uh peirs an extra life jonty what do you think uh it's a tough one especially the goalkeeper out of all the positions on the park you've got to be very very careful with with your goalkeeper you don't want to upset them too much and things like that um for me probably stick with peirs for the time being Chuck Hof into the uh under 21s let's just you know see what he looks like and what have you but um yeah I mean the Hungarian league is going to be very very different the the speed and the intensity of of of the shots that he's going to have and sort of the trickery as well is going to be very very different from the Hungarian league isn't it so um you know I think it'll be a big step up for him but hopefully won that if he's you know he's obviously good caliber if he's if he's won the Hungarian goalkeeper of the Year award the Golden Glove award whatever it is over there so you know but yeah I think PE has probably done enough these last couple of games perhaps I don't think he's put done too much wrong in these last sort of three four well four five games that he's played I surprised he started against Blackpool to be fair it's shame that we did get knocked out by Blackpool because I think the next round of the cup would have been the 16th of of September or that sort of time that would have been the perfect time to put somebody like Hoff in wouldn't it and um and see how he is but it is what it is um you know and I think that you know I think it was even bit more of a bigger blow now to be knocked out to Blackpool because essentially we've got two lots of 11s hav't we that we could could start um you know and people that are sort of banging on the door like John Buckley you know that that now potentially with uh campwell and people like that joining and what have you so you know does that push Bley out ever ever ever some more so yeah perhaps losing to to Blackpool is is a bit of a bigger blow we're never going to win it but it would have been great just to keep your your Danny baths and people like that up to football in speed um long answer short question stick with peirs let's he just probably needs to let's just see how he FS a little bit maybe in the uh in in in the English under 21s League we just wait for p to have a inevitable clanger again at some point exactly that's it well I I thought I thought he did enough pairs yesterday even though that flap couple flaps he made me more Steve did agree or disagree would you change it up or or stick to stick to your guns dep to be honest it depends how good he is in the air he's better if he's any good in the air then probably I'd get him in because um that's my only worry about this season so far like I don't actually know the stats of it but how many goals have we conceded from headers because um it's all quite recently it's been set plays and and from crosses that we've just been conceding so um I would probably it's a bit saying what this team is going to be after this International break like is really hard to do because we don't know what's going to happen in in that Gap when they're training with each other so um but we definitely need to work on defending set pieces and Crosses so um yeah it's all depends on how well he performs in training for my in my opinion but if he's a lot better then how how much do we spend on him I'm I'm not really sure I'm looking at it right now I think I had it on my graphic up here on the graphic uh where is it does say under discl I think it was 1 point something million Maybe .4 it's fair it's fair trunk of money for us for us imagine what it does though for the confidence of pairs you know like signing player of that value you know it is it is what jonty is elaborate on the whole today and yesterday competition for places You've Got to Now step up if you want to be that number one and I look across some of the players like John raky Castell realistically is he is does he get in my starting 11 at allall really when everyone's fit no the AY pairs you know right now I I've have that same question mark on my head I don't really you know realistically I don't don't doesn't it doesn't give me that confidence giv given like the other side of it like the reason why we got rid of kinsky was because of pe's being better with his feet right I think I think that was reason so then the goal yesterday came from peirs launching up top so that would be the other argument like attack ofely he's pretty good to have on board hey don't get me wrong I think I think PE is a and Joe RI Castello a good squad players for for that and and it's a phrase I don't think we hear much much anymore especially for Joe the utility player player who could play in a kind of certain spot you know oh we we need cover it right back or or fill this void Elliot Bennett was prime example as the years went by he might started off as a Winger but then you're just kind of we need someone to play there we need someone to play here you know so we need those kind of players especially with a Fred Bear Squad um but uh let's uh JN to Europe up I'm I'm going to save the Marquee to the end and we can all chip in on it but what about Lewis Baker going under the radar under the transfer business but I think could be a good shrewd move because I know he got a cameo yesterday he can't take a can't this guy you know I don't think you know uh Joe ranky Castello was robbing rubbing us all off a spot in the in the team so far I didn't think he fit in that team that juce has started against Oxford against Norwich against who was the other one Derby I don't think he was yeah I don't think he was definitely the position the vulnerable position and it became apparent really with Blackpool but there was a spot available does this guy get it jonty talk about leading the witness Derk you've just been up for me you were just like I I feel like now if I don't SE heon a you're gonna drop me from any negative contoversial opinions I need if you say no DK he's an F he's turd then that's great and that's that's the last you'll ever see of me I'm sure I'll never be invited back but uh no I think I think you've absolutely captured it there a shrewd signing I think it's a brilliant bit of business again um he's one of those a bit like wman he's one of those players I'd heard of I watched he stood out for me when he when he was playing for the opposition in Ewood uh I think he did score the winner for Stoke against us maybe last season or a couple of seasons ago so um I think castella had that stinker actually was it ironic the irony there the worst game the worst game I've probably ever seen from a player yeah yeah um again I'm kind of sat on the fence between A and B it's it's a it's a shrew move um is he gonna get the game time though I mean this is this is exactly now who do you drop or do you do you almost have a home team and an away team Midfield you know what I mean that you you get your your your Lewis Travis and your Tron stads um away from home you know and and and you you know your Bakers um and your Camp Wells um you know starting at home I don't know I don't know I think it's I'll I'll go with a majority for me is is a strong b or an A minus in terms of this um but I'll hand it over to you because my battery is about to run out so I'm just gonna be doing some jiggery poker in the background plugging myself in if that's all right you do it anyone else want to jump in on on Lewis Baker I I think um think as John said it's it's a good signing considering the fact it's only got 12 months left as well so we've gotten the year and then you know if he if he impresses get him on a free which we've been obviously doing with these older players um so yeah I think it's a decent signing I I don't think it's an a I mean obviously we we've not we've not seen of him yet uh but I I do think I do think he'll find it hard pressed to to get into the starting 11 he doesn't strike him he's a number 10 he's going to be one of those holding midfielders you think more box to box so uh I think I think said JDT I think UST will stick with sandre and Trav and I think this guy's G to be the main man if uh you know one of them needs a rest or one of them gets injured or suspended which is likely well yeah with Travis yeah you know I agree like um one of again like one of the things that we really needed was a squad and we because we' haven't had a squad for ages where what one one person I said last time like around Christmas time when people start getting injured when someone wants to get um adds up their picking points so they can get a good Christmas break and like all that typ of stuff like um we need the squad so um also as well one of the thing I think that eust is doing quite cleverly is making a team so we can play like pick the pick pick who pick the players based on our opposition more than just playing who our best Squad is um so like cuz um looking at like Beck for example we saying about jrc and stuff like that um who if they were playing Wing back they're a lot more attack of right but then um example going back to Beck as well um Pickering much more of I would say based on seeing him like it's more much more of a defensive left back than attack of so it's it's playing for picking the team based on your opposition and like playing to your strengths versus your your opposition's weaknesses so I think yeah it's quite a clever signing because if we needed a Travis which is a bit more a bit more [ __ ] [ __ ] housy then we can play him and like if we don't we need less of that and we can swap in and out like it's quite it's quite a clever signing I think yeah I I think it's uh yeah it's a shrew move and a set set peace taker you know they're like you know it seems like everyone's got one of those except for us and uh even now with the weird the weird Corner rout te we have where we stick both fullbacks to take it it's just uh you know not as not as fluid as I want to be let's talk about the mar I think it's a marquee signing but again might be leading you all Mr kwell once valued at 40 to 50 million pounds comes with an ALICE band and a Tik Tok account with a brazillion followers I think uh Steve you go first I'm G I'm going to be a bit Roga I'm not actually as as excited as a lot of people are like based on what I've SE well what I've seen I don't watch the Scottish Football so like I have no idea and seeing comments from Rangers fans being very very most of it negative about him um I only have the experience of him playing for Norwich and in being pretty good for Norwich in the Premier League and everything but the my only concern is um watching back the interview that he's given about how he says about there are certain online fans that give him a lot of stick about having these social um networks and stuff like this is only like I don't want to have like a deli allei Vibe um that's my only concern so I wouldn't go get too caught up in the hive based on his for Norwich and the leag was like four five years ago now right um I don't think it was that long ago but um it was it wasn't because they went down and he played a season the championship right before he went to Rangers I think as well I think I'll confirm it while we're while we're talking but yeah that's my only concern I don't want to end up having like one of these players that like have done been got to the top and then kind of rested on The Laurels of what they've expect done before um but you're saying that like that might just be better Rangers fans like leading that into um leading that in so um I think it is a good like it's a strong signing if we B if he plays the level of like what he was doing when he was at norch I'd say I have no idea of what what the stand was against Rangers for Rangers but so according to to the Wikipedia which means it's true uh he left in probably the January 2023 Norwich he left Norwich january3 Jo Rangers in that window played a season and a half in the Scottish Prem uh and he's got chipped him with 14 goals 6 I know it's Scottish Prem but 14 goal 64 games so one in every six from a from a midfielder ain't too shabby and again you you're playing for one of the top two teams in one the second best team in in in in Scotland right now um so yeah I I well again it's a good the the fee that was thrown around was it 600k or maybe even less than that uh I know we'll probably paying through the nose with with wages but um but yeah based on the like I know I'm being like I sounded quite like it's fine honestly you're good we want that but like based on like the Fe like looking at that side of things based on the fee and the stats and stuff it is a very very good sign I was going to put B just based on seeing all the negative comments of um from Rangers fans and that like that little like I don't think the interview he gave was the greatest but when I guess when you are signing a player um that is supposed to be like the Marque like top draw player they're going to be a little bit Arrogant with that um so um yeah that's my it it it definitely comes with a risk it's a signing with a risk you know you're you're you're committed which is good we not have on a loan and he he can't Swan off to Glasgow or Norwich you know in six months time he's he's got to be committed to the project and that's good it's good from Rover to say we're prepared you know this is going to be your home now let's let's get you on board and hopefully he gets off on the right foot and that's down of eustus to to manage him now but again we there is a player in there if we get it out brilliant if we don't we stuck with whatever we're paying him on a three-year deal so it's definitely got a risk and hopefully a major reward with it so yeah I think you might be right with a B I think a B's strong but um Jacob jonty thoughts on on on this kid I think he strikes me as type of a a Rodwell signing H you know C back to him I think obviously there was a lot of you know fan fan from similar passionate fans in Sunderland just like the Rangers fans are saying everything about him um and Rodwell had a pretty good season with us I would have I would have loved have kept him to be honest with you um I think this guy has the potential to be the best player in this league I'll be honest with you um and to get him for what 500 600k is just mental business and again it all credit to Rudy and uh John Park and whatnot the the business we've just done in general this window has been the best business in my eyes since I started supporting Rovers like un fortunately not the Glory Days but um it's been a it's been a absolutely immense transfer window I think and I think the transfer window as a whole has been an A in my opinion um I would have give cwell an a personally I think I think it's a marquee signing I think yes there's a risk but you know as much as there's definitely the risk there Rangers fans were saying Norwich fans were saying the same thing you know to them um you know about him he he spoke positively about the manager we just got to hope he wants to play for the manager he's gonna he's going to stay good to us and uh yeah I think he's the type of signing that if we're gonna make playoffs this guy's gonna have a gonna have a big influence on it I think John T yeah I think Steve's raised some really valid points is that I mean you know if you'd asked me sort of 10 minutes ago I would have categorically got as as carried away as every other Rovers fan put him in as an a would have wanted him to start against Bristol City and prested and nailed on and yet if he was to you know be a little bit Rusty or or not quite at the championship Pace yet then we would have absolutely slated him and he he's probably one of those players that you've got to sort of [ __ ] foot around a little bit and you know because if he if he goes off the rails you know you don't want him to be toxic within the squad so I think he comes with a bit of a health warning doesn't he um I think thank you Steve because you probably managed my expectations ever so slightly as well because yeah you've you flagged quite clearly there that you know this you know he can be a little bit fragile maybe you know he's all over social media I know that for a fact but you know he was in my fantasy team when he was at Norwich in the Premier League so clearly I like him as a player um good boxto boox guy just a nuisance a bit like yookie isn't he just constantly around you know wants the ball constantly around Defenders and things like that so he's he's quite a creative player as well um so yeah I think I am excited about seeing him um I think like Jacob said it's it's it's been a fantastic window um you know and and count well on paper should be the the cream of the cropping all of that but you know he's he'll be also on the best wages there as well so again you hopefully that doesn't you know come back and bite us on our backside sort of thing um because obviously there I'm sure the rest of the squad will be we we'll know that so with that comes expectations and you know as Rovers fans we need to manage our expectations sometimes don't we so but yeah it's it's it's a good signing I think it's got all the it shows our intent as a club signings like campwell shows our intent and and like like like Jacob said it's been a fantastic window um and we seem to be finally on the right path um you know let's not get carried away let's not go for automatics or or even playoffs I'd settle for seventh or eighth now because that's a one massive Improvement let's remember where we came from at the end of last season now I know you could argue under JDT and then us this but you know the reality is we were staring down the barrel of relegation we were 45 minutes away from relegation so to get anywhere mid-table and above this season will be great you know what I mean we just need to keep building on everything that we've got but please Rover fans just let's manage our expectations get behind the team we're going to win hopefully a lot of games we're going to draw some we're going to lose some but you know let's just keep keep going keep chopping away at it a lot of the successful teams I believe you know they they they don't just have a flash in the pan season suddenly go up because you know the the stability of that is is not there we just need to build on what we've got just keep going I'll show up now we uh we have one some I've drawn some but we've not lost some as you see on the screen right here right now this is of course the resume we've had to so if I ignore the Blackpool that was you know who cares about the League Cup it's all about the league baby so I'm beaten heading into this good results yeah we talked about it we touched on it you know coming up against newly promoted sides some people say it's going to be easy but no they're riding on a a crust of a wave of momentum uh and playing two real you know top six contenders you would say uh for for promotion in Norwich and Burnley probably playing The Right Time of the Season as well before they figuring their their crap out but you know I I think we asked I definitely asked you Jacob how many points we'd get the first four or so games but what do we get here six eight is that right we got eight points uh eight2 shabby right it was that a p there D I don't know what it is it's just it's it's it's a good haul from from what we we expected I don't I can't remember what what people were saying four five points on the first uh uh you know games but uh pretty decent T in fact let's let's let's let's a quick look at the table before we we actually take a quick look at the next five games so currently fifth above them not down the road which is Stella just I know it's a point but uh it's good it looks good no no nothing in this column over here no defeats which is absolutely fantastic but let's take a look at those next F let's to the next five ignore the Swansea game I might be at that Swansea game that's the plan um but the next five we've got Bristol City Home Preston away QPR home cry away Plymouth away it's I think it's definitely just you know it is it does look a bit more challenging uh than the first cluster of games uh because Preston tricky plymouth's a long way to go commentary uh you know they not playing great right now but Jacob out of those next five how many points you thinking we're GNA get um I'd like to think we beat Bristol at home um even void that I do think they're a bit of a bogy team for us my mind goes back to last season when they tonked us at that ground and when Bradley us one as well yeah and when Bradley D come on and miss the penalty in that game he come back and stuff so they they definitely are a bit of a bgy team but I I'll go with the three um I just think we're on a high right now so I think we'll dispatch of them uh Preston I'd take a draw just because it's Preston uh um you know they are very much a team at dump Dale we just do not enjoy going there so you know if it was another 22 like last season under Eustace I think I think most fans would probably take that um think heckin Bottom's a good appointment for them as well I think they've done well there personally um QPR I think a London team coming up to ewards always a tough one for any of those London teams coming up to us so I'd like to say another three points so that's seven pentry away is a tough one I think it looking at that you you think think that could be our first loss maybe uh I do not enjoy going to that ground um and then Plymouth away is another tough one it were horrible that game last season when we went but is Wayne Rooney yeah it is it is Wayne Rooney um maybe a point to proof of Eustace oh they replaced me with him Birmingham GNA stick one over on him yeah yeah no that's definitely something to factor in um I mean they've not started well at all Plymouth have they um I think I think I'll go with a win there just because it is Rooney if if he's still in a job at that point which I I I think he will be so uh what's that that's seven I think 10 points which I think I think these games are a little easier than than our first four just then I think you're looking at Norwich and Burnley away there I think too many fans would have you know thought we'd get anything from either of those games and then the two newly promoted teams as well like we said worst time to play them so I think we'll play I think these I think these are easier games uh on paper jonty how many points you reckon five next five uh looking at those kickoff times we probably won't get many I don't I don't think Ro's do well at 7:30 in the morning I'm assuming that's your time dor I'll yeah okay thank goodness for that um I know I thought bloody H what Sky Sports done now you know uh don't fancy getting down to Plymouth for 10 o'clock in the morning I'll tell you that for nothing anyway um I think 11 points so this is what I think I think we'll beat Bristol City at home I think we'll beat Preston away I think we'll draw it home to QPR I think QPR are a bit of a ones to watch this season they've had a bit of a shaky start good result at Luton um if you look at the runw that they went on at the end of last season was just for phenomenal and I think they've got a decent manager there so I think we'll get a point at home to QPR I think we'll get a point away at centry and I think we'll get three points away at our friends down in Plymouth best away ground ever that I'm just gutted absolutely gutted it's October because if that was September you can fly from Manchester down to new and then catch the train or the national Express as I did and it's probably the friendliest away ground I've ever been to is Plymouth it's a wonderful wonderful ground it was that friendly even the steward said to me after listen we're just going across to the pub across the road if you want to come for a pastin a paint so yeah anyway so yeah that's where my uh that is 11 points isn't it I not just embarrass myself yeah 369 10 11 yeah we're not including Swansea now no no that's another International break in between that Steve agree disagree more or less where were you going for the next five I was going to go I was going to I'm going to go 12 I I'm going to go I I I can see like classic Rovers where we'll beat um Bristol Preston QPR and centry and then it will run win his first like um game or something stupid or they have they won this season's yet uh I know they did all right the cup well yeah that's I can like if I being realistic like I can see us getting three points against Bristol um I can see us getting um a point against Preston and a point against QPR so that's four um five oh five um and then um we'll probably uh yeah I still see us doing well against centry and then getting beaten by Plymouth so who'll probably be dead bottom at that point um so yeah but the only thing is it's a bit hard to I think this two week break we're going to come back with a totally different um Team to totally different um totally different tactics I think with campwell we're going to try getting him him in as the main man and then adjust the team around him to fit him in um so these the opening game the opening games that we've gone undefeated I think tactically we're going to be totally different when we got come back from the break so it's a bit tricky to tell because other teams are going to be the same so yeah it it' be interesting to see what kind of 11 we have by I don't think cwell will start see I think we'll slowly we'll slowly you know get him in I don't know how how fit and rare in a go he is but I'm excited I'm excited it could be like you say an absolute Game Changer if we get the right the right cwell uh hopefully we kept the receipt just in case we got send them back or something like that you know we got 30 days right that's the that's the rule uh and then uh we can send him back uh uh but yeah no I'm excited again the goalkeeper gives me a bit more positive vibes if we if he's a player then you know I think I think you know I don't want to I don't want to get ahead of myself but you know there there is there are some good signs and again you're right Jacob you know a lot of people a lot a lot of people out there you know you saw them my Twitter on YouTube RS relegation R it's you know it kind of made me a little bit mad um i' I've I've always you know since my first prediction of this I said mid-table 12th I thought we were 12 14th something like that and and you know that could still be it but I am very much I don't know if that's the right way you say I am I'm much more confident that we will be above the 12th position than beneath the 12th position after that and then I looked at it I actually recorded a video for my new updated predictions that'll be out this week or something there are there are two or three breakaways at the minute that I think they're they're they're going to be up there but there is a good cluster like like Cardiff I think they're terrible Hull I don't believe in Hull right now milw you know there's a lot of drgs in there that I'm that I'm feeling that we we could very much go under the radar especially with this the team spirit right now yeah some of the bubble have burst for teams like that have been ordinarily doing quite well over the last few seasons centry that it seems like their bubbles burst a little bit Hall you know they've always been a nuisance Thor in a lot of uh Team sides as well but just going back L Town yeah absolutely yeah shamut AR they just going back I think that's a brilliant idea could you imagine if you could get a player with a receipt and you could return it I think you're on to something here because here's hear me out hear me out so if you bought a player for two million pounds and you've got your receipt but you don't take him back you actually have to pay another whatever you've agreed two and a half million if you want to keep him but if you don't then you send him back you know I think that's I think that 30-day no quibble exchange I think that's bloody brilliant if he gets injured if he gets injured can we return him theny sometime how many times have you seen it where you've got a decent player but he's only good at one club or two clubs maybe and the rest is absolutely shocking it is it is good but uh Hey so just R the clock quick uh you know thinking I know we're it's First International break September where where are we finishing at the end of The Campaign starting with Steve we go Steve first go um well these these next five games I think are going to be the kind of the end of these five games going into the next International break because we're GNA have to really figure kind of find that out because we're going to end up being able to see how everyone new comes in whether they're jellous um I would like to say based on the start of season and based on other teams I going like eighth ninth would be like a a good a good solid season get have a little push for playoffs um and then keep a lot of these players that we don't we never used to really do and next season have a real push for playoffs jont T agree yeah I'm inclined to agree with that I think at the start of the season I would have said uh probably mid-table you know 12 13 finish you and that would be a a big step in the right direction away from last season uh now given the transfer window on the on the start then yeah I think seventh or eighth maybe um and but yeah I think it'll be too early to go up let's just have a good season bring some of the the happiness and and the love you know back into the club um get the season ticket sales up again as well because they've they've dropped quite a big big again this season um seventh or eighth yeah Jacob well I mean before we made a Sig in I would I think I predicted us to be like 19th 20th or some I think we're all really pessimistic and I can understand why people had us to go down I'll be honest with you I think writing was on the wall smic was going to go so you know lose your main man when you're staying up on the final day um but yeah I just I'm G to be Uber positive and I'm GNA say we get sick um wow I think yeah I think like I said it would just be saw Rovers the season when all the papers all the YouTubers all the neutrals rovers are going down to for us to go and get um playoffs I think I just hope and pray campwell is everything he should be at this level um I think as Steve said considering you know we we literally stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season and to go and get someone with his name he was scoring goals against Man City like three four years ago was you know picked to be in the England squad it's a it's a mental signing for a for a side that just stayed up um I think if eustus can manage him which obviously I hope he can and he obviously thinks he can I think he has there's obviously a big gaping void smodic sized hole there that someone needs to fill and uh that number 10 spot is definitely up for grabs we've had Dolan playing there who is in a number 10 we've had Yuki playing there just be maxar um yeah I think cwell should fit into this team once he's fully fit I don't think he's had a pre-season but if he can get you know 105 get get a lot of assists in there as well we get Yuki and marar banging
