as many of you know Prince Harry and Megan made their first official visit to the UK together since moving to California back in 2020 one of the stops on their trip was for Harry to privately visit his childhood home althorp house where the Spencer Family Estate is located althorp house is the home of Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer the ninth Earl Spencer and where Diana grew up while the details of Harry's private visit were meant to be kept quiet out of respect it seems someone close to Megan decided to leak some inside details about the trip to the press and it appears Prince Charles is none too pleased about it according to sources Charles confronted Megan directly about the leak during the Jubilee weekend let's take a step back and look at the timeline of events Harry and Megan arrived in the UK on June 1st for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations their children Archie and lilb but remained in California during one of the days when official engagements were not taking place Harry reportedly made a private visit to althorp house to pay his respects to his late mother Diana the details of exactly what occurred during Harry's private trip are scarce but it's said he toured the grounds and family rooms where Diana grew up he also took time to lay flowers at Diana's Memorial on the estate Charles Spencer was present to give Harry a personal tour of the home and share memories of his sister both Harry and Charles have kept Diana's memory and Legacy very close over the years however within a day or two of Harry's visit reports started emerging in the British tabloids sharing Insider details about the trip things like how long hay was at althorp specific rooms he toured and private moments he shared with Charles Spencer naturally this upset Charles Spencer as the visit was meant to be kept private between the two men to honor Diana but people close to the situation suspected Megan's PR team or friends in California as the possible Source behind the leaks after all details didn't start emerging until Harry and Megan returned to their Frogmore Cottage accommodation and it's well known that Megan has close connections with the American Media that the British tabloids regularly get inside Scoops from so during one of the Jubilee lunches or dinners involving the whole family behind Palace walls Charles decided to take Megan aside to address the issue directly sources say he sternly confronted her to find out if she knew anything about who leaked the private Harry Charles meeting details it said Charles expressed how hurt and disrespected both he and Harry felt by the Betrayal of someone close to Megan but Megan strongly denied any involvement or knowledge of who leaked the private althorp house details according to those present she claimed she respected the private nature of Harry's visit and would never do anything to intentionally cause pain to Charles or his family however Charles was said to still appear unconvinced and upset by the entire ordeal tensions were apparently running High during that exchange between Charles and Megan behind closed doors and it didn't help heal past hurt feelings between the divided family members Charles has reportedly felt even more distrust towards Megan after the leak believing she has too loose of a mouth or associations that regularly benefit her in the press for her part Megan maintains she had nothing to do with the all Thorp leak and finds the ongoing accusations hurtful however she has acknowledged keeping a close circle of California friends who are very supportive of her and may sometimes share private details without her consent either way damage was done to the already strained relationship between Charles and the sussexes the encounter between Charles and Megan at the Jubilee has now been dubbed as one of the most tense moments behind the scenes and it highlights the ongoing trust issues that remain even after meit with Charles set to become king in the future it's unclear how he and the rest of the firm will navigate ongoing family divides with Harry and Megan moving forward some experts believe this latest confrontation will make the family even less likely to fully include the sussexes in Royal events and responsibilities going forward out of ongoing distrust especially as private family details often seem to end up in the Press whenever Harry and Megan are involved however others argue the Royals need to find a way to put past hurts behind them for the sake of unity something will need to be done to repair fractures if the family hopes to present a united front long term but it may take a lot more open communication and understanding on all sides to get there for now the Divide persists with lingering mistrust on both sides of the Atlantic only time will tell if further steps are taken towards meaningful reconciliation
