Madden NFL 25 Simulation The Miami Dolphins vs The Dallas Cowboys

it's the NFL on EA Sports and we're running it back with the two teams from Super Bowl 6 it's the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys next on Madden [Applause] football we are sandwiched between Fort Worth and Dallas Texas in Arlington at the luxurious AT&T Stadium with Charles Davis as always I'm Brandon Gard Charles you talk about story lines in this what I think it begins and ends with our two quarterbacks certainly two of the best in the business and nowadays I don't think you can get by for long periods of time without a Top Flight quarterback the way the game is played with all the responsibility he has and how the game flows through him if he's not on the top of his game your team's not going to benefit at all set for football now at AT&T Stadium Brandon Aubry has the honors and we are underway here in Arlington and he'll take it up past the 25 to the 26 yd line the Dolphins head out led by the NFL's leading passer in 2023 now his Fifth Season to a tongue of I and he's coming off a great season where he put up career highs and yards and touchdowns while also leading one of the most prolific scoring offenses in the NFL the number one thing he did last season though staying healthy when he's on the field Miami can roll two a throw right away and the pressure gets there and twoa is going to be taken down Osa oigi zoa with the effort there to earn the sack how about the defense there try to set the tone on the very first play of the game yeah there's a little bit of a glow here tonight because they brought the heat right out of the gate what a good job establishing a tone for this one [Music] [Applause] so an early wakeup call there leads to a quick second and long in motion hill now a man who tore up the Packers in the NFC title game a few years back it's Raheem moard that's second down play Nets a minus four apparently this defense has come to play a s and a run stff on the line on the first two plays a miserable start here on their opening drive as they come up on a third and very long now Tua he'll get this into the hands of moer and he'll get it up here this time to the 21 it's a gain of 11 but they're still well short it's fourth down we can make this one pretty simple locked up all his aggressions downfield forced to get it to his running back but how about the way they ran to the football and knocked him down to force a fourth down so on fourth down here's Jake Bailey to punt for the Dolphins kavante tping deep for the Cowboys they'll call that a 33 yd punt with no return and the Cowboys will take over the football with a first and 10 the Cowboys making their way out behind the NFL's leader in touchdown passes for 23 in his ninth season now Dak Prescott and he's coming off one of the best seasons of his career where he finished as a runner up in the MVP chase after throwing for over 4,500 yards 36 touchdowns and less than 10 interceptions for the first time in a few years an integral part of the Cowboys run to the playoffs he's hoping to take it a step further here in 2024 here's Prescott roll it and oh right away way he lost the football much like a running back going through the line quarterbacks have to be aware of protecting the football as well he left it exposed that time wound up having it knocked free but fortunately had an alert teammate who was able to get it so they keep the football but now face second and long now Prescott he'll find lamb that's complete and he's able to get this one out closer to Mid field across the 45 so give him five yards there on the pitch and catch and third and eight now they'll be in search of eight yards here as they hope to convert the first down now Prescott he's got his running back out of the back field and he'll go down inside the 45 before going out of bounds nine yds that time I'm not sure that that was necessarily a safety valve or a check down throw on third down sometimes just try and find the open guy and get him the ball he did exactly that and found a way to pick up a first [Applause] down off the play fake Prescott oh and that is incomplete I certainly thought he had an open look beyond the first down marker to his receiver but they just couldn't connect and that will send them back to the drawing [Applause] board second and 10 to the air again Prescott throw complete right side to Cooks and he's going to be stopped up right at the line of scrimmage that helps the completion percentage but not much else and now it's third and 10 and forget about the r to set up the pass they're just coming out throwing forget trying to set anything up they feel like they have the advantage they feel like they have the matchups and they're just attacking right now yep going to the air on the opening [Music] drive from the shotgun it's Prescott and the throw there going to be incomplete as a defensive back you have some weapons at your disposal that we don't often talk about and you can read the receiver's eyes you can read his hands and you know that the arrival of the ball is imminent and that allows you to make a play on it and often times knock it [Music] away and this one is right down the middle and the Cowboys are going to jump out to a three nothing lead Charles even his long field goals become more and more common this is still very rarified air only just over 20 field goals have been kicked from 60 yd or further and you can add his name to the list now and as calm as he tried to present himself there's no doubt there were some nerves as he lined up to attempt that kick but once the ball was snapped he just swept the leg and boom over the crossbar so after the made field goal back out is Aubrey to kick this [Music] away and bulldozing his way through and able to take it pass the 25 and up to the 28 yd line so Miami coming out for their second drive and a three and out on that first drive we'll see if they can do better here they should have a better opportunity because the nerve should be settled now that first series everybody goes out a little extra emotion so now they get a chance to go back out and say okay now we're into the game let's go play and play as best we can you almost get a mle again then on that first drive sometimes it absolutely serves J that way you get a second nothing big happened but then again you didn't commit any mistakes either off you go that's about as exciting of a one yd run as you're going to see finding a way to dodge that first would be tackler but again just one yard out of it here's a second and nine now from the [Applause] 29 running the counter with moer and he'll take this to the 30 two a gain of about three vision is so important for the man in the middle because his ability to to to look through all the Clutter that's happening in front of him diagnose a play and then go make it and finish it that's when the great ones know that they have the goods in motion Hill on playaction here's Tu throw out wide is incomplete two drives won't tell the story of this game but you absolutely have to like how this defense has played thus far they have yet to allow this offense to get untracked in this one Jake Bailey on now to punt here on fourth down and a fair catch called for and made just inside the 35 yd line no return but it goes down as just a punt of 31 yds and it will be first and 10 as they take [Applause] [Music] [Applause] over from the 34 now here's first and 10 looking to throw Prescott oh he tries to force it in and it's intercepted picked up by jayen Ramsey and he will bring it back it's a pick six and the Dolphins touchdown a mistake there by the offense Charles they tried to pick on a pro bowl Corner in coverage there and not the smartest decision he reminded him that he was a pro bowl corner with not only the pick but the pick six and those guys who have that designation sometimes they get a little bit bored in games because people try to avoid them they absolutely love it when they get challenged and it's a chance to remind everyone exactly why they were tabbed as one of the best in the league the prior season Jason Sanders now for the extra [Applause] point he's got it they'll see that opening drive field goal and raise it a touchdown and that makes it seven to three [Applause] so they'll get another shot on offense following that pick six and now the kick is away and they're going to start this drive in pretty good shape as they get it up past the 30 here's the Dallas offense now heading back out onto the field remember they were just out here a moment ago through the pick six so we'll see if they can take better care of the football this go round yeah and sometimes partner I think it's almost better that you just throw the pick six and you come right back out on the field you're not over on the sidelines dwelling for it for very long you're not hearing everyone say hey you'll get next time hey don't worry about it all that stuff just goes right out the window you're right back out on the field with a chance to atone Cooks on the quick slant so five yards here five on the play and it'll be second down we've seen quite a bit of the short passing game here early on first quarter haven't we we have and I think it works a couple of ways for for this team because number one you throw the short game until they stop it and if they're not going to stop you keep throwing it and occasionally you'll break a tackle and turn into a bigger gain also if they start to creep up start to press your receivers now you go over the top take it deep and now you get some of those big shots down field after one 73 the score on EA Sports start of the second quarter and it's the Cowboys in possession here's second and five now from the 37 as they've got it as we resume action play fake here's Prescott there again as Cooks complete and he's going to get this all the way down inside the 35 the catch and run pays off for 29 yds he's been a busy man in this first half they've targeted him quite a bit including both plays here to start this drive and until that defense starts reacting a little better they may just keep going back to him [Applause] this offense finding its legs now here's another first and 10 Prescott off [Applause] playaction he'll fire one in zone for cooks and that is caught touchdown Cowboys Brandon Cooks 34 yards and the Cowboys have regain the lead so a tiptoe catch back back of the end zone so tough to do but he made it look pretty easy certainly did and the back of the end zone is treated the same way as a sideline you have to get your feet down in bounds for it to count as a catch how about the backgrounds of some of these guys and now of course all scoring plays are reviewed and I think they're going to take an extra long look at this one they're taking a peek at whether or not those feet were in bounds and obviously a big call here in the end zone and not just the feet how about the hands how is the ball possessed while the feet are hopefully getting down in bounds that's what they're trying to look at to see if it all comes together so take away the touchdown there as that's going to be ruled an incomplete pass here's second and 10 and again it's Prescott over the middle hauled in by lamb he's got room to roam and down to the seven yd line a big play that time on the catch and run and it'll move the chains how about the way they're moving the ball down the field they had a big play a moment ago f it up with another nice one here and before you know it they're already looking at first and goal [Applause] two big plays in succession not sure this D knows what hit him but now they got to get ready it's first and goal to throw is [Applause] Prescott and he'll take this beyond the line of scrimmage as he slides to a hole he'll get five out of the scramble it's second down I certainly like what he did right there because he smartly wanted to avoid forcing anything down field because nothing appeared to be open nice harmless slide there to avoid the big hit and he gets a small gain on the play Elliot is in Touchdown Dallas so partner was a passing game that drove them down the field but when they get close they trust that man in the back field and he took him home and they trust their offensive line as well because so many of these units they specialize in either pass protection or run blocking this group shows his versatility and gets both done on this [Applause] drive Brandon Aubrey now for the extra [Applause] point and it's through and that makes the lead 107 a drive that time of six plays and it culminates in a touchdown run by Ezekiel Elliot so after the touchdown Aubry now to kick this one away a lane opens here he's past the 30 and he'll weave all the way up to just a few yards shy of Midfield a great return the Dolphins offense now ready to go back out onto the field it's been an awfully slow start for them this is their third possession they don't have a first down yet so that means they have to change up what they're doing and for some teams it's a change in Tempo usually moving it to more uptempo type of an offense just to try and change change their fortunes right now what they've been doing so far isn't working maybe they'll do that emotion hill playaction now it's Tua completes it to the tight end Smite and his play caller does a nice job of giving him an easy throw to start this drive and he takes advantage of it the completion sets up a manageable second down from the 44 yd line here's second down and one now they'll send Wadd in motion left they just do get the play off as he'll look to throw over the middle incomplete to Wad and wad going to have a Dolphins first down as he'll get this down to the 41 three yds there good enough to keep the drive moving [Applause] now Tua on the bootle here got a man it's caught at the 6yd line and all the way in for a Miami touchdown Odell Beckham 41 yards and the Dolphins have moved out in front they took him while to get their Speedster involved but they found him downfield there and what we've discovered as we've watched games is the Speedster doesn't have to have a lot of catches doesn't have to have volume in order to have a huge impact on the game his speed scares the heck out of defenses and other guys can capitalize but when you finally hit him and he carries it all the way into the end zone that's what you're paying him for that big threat that can make big plays on a limited number of catches that's how you step on the stage with your first catch take it to the house extra point Up and Good by Sanders and the lead is now 14- 10 so they only needed three plays on that drive and it's obj Odell Beckham who ends it with a touchdown reception [Applause] now after the touchdown ready to kick it away is Sanders pushing his way through and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30yd line and now here come the Cowboys a long drive last time out for this offense Charles if you remember they started basically in the shadows of their own End Zone marched it down the field and a lot of that was through the passing game and partner as a former defensive back I'm having almost a physical reaction watching what's happening right now but let's give credit words du because they've done an excellent job moving the ball through the air secondary getting picked apart pass by pass obviously they need to make some adjustments there on the back end yeah because offensively we know that they're not going to be shy about throwing that football as a defense you're more balanced when you're in zone coverage because you're able to keep your eyes on the quarterback and see the play develop in front of you they're able to keep the Quick Pass in front of them and stop it right at the line of scrimmage they work now on second and nine here's Prescott pass complete to jayen Tolbert and he gets this up across the 35 before he's out of bounds it'll go down as a gain of six and now we've got a third and three [Applause] two minutes remaining in this first half of football here's third and three throwing Prescott able to hit his Target L and he'll be taken down down but he does have first down yardage give him the third down conversion five yds on the play that's a big conversion there on third down because they did not want to get the ball up here late in the half they'd love to take the clock all the way down and score this will definitely help the [Applause] cause Prescott a short one there taken in by Ferguson and he'll be taken down but not before he gets into enemy territory 11 yds and the cowboy first down and what a nice example there of a tight end doing exactly what he needs to do how about how he worked his way to the outside made sure he secured the catch and then anything after that we count that as a bonus and indeed he gets enough for the first down he'll go underneath here to Elliot and a 5yd gain gets him to the 42 all defenses worry that whenever anyone catches the ball and has a head of steam come out of the back field it could turn into a big play with missed tackles or he runs through people but they were right there waiting and they stopped him for a minimal gain now second and five Prescott from the gun he's got to complete to Tober and he'll be out just a yard or two shy of the 30 a good looking drive for the Cowboys so far it's a first down a little football 101 there you just see the receiver try to run down the defender meaning he goes right at him and really trying to move him a little bit towards the center of the field so he can put his foot in the ground and break to the out to the sideline and make a catch and that is incomplete now the coverage a little too good there and it's second down well the incompletion yes but maybe here not the worst thing in the world no not on First and 10 actually gives them a chance to regroup relax just a little bit they huddle up talk it over then they get a chance to continue their Drive the theck down the field Prescott now throwing middle but it's incomplete the name of the game as always on defense put pressure on the quarterback and that's exactly what they've done today looks like they've got him a little bit rattled that would have been the second interception in the first half it's been a pretty long drive this will be play number nine and they need 10 yds out of it on third they'll throw again Prescott and the Dolphins Rush gets home down he goes he couldn't get away there on third down the pressure too much and he sacked for a loss of 12 okay I'm not sure you could actually draw a better pass rush than that one right there nowhere to go outside he had to keep backing up and backing up and backing up eventually dropped for a huge loss so on trots the field field goal unit and wow this is going to be a challenge here and this will split the uprights it's right down the middle and that will do it for this first half so a very tight first half we had to break in a one-point game as we'll get you over to Orlando where standing by is Jonathan Coachman he has our EA Sports halime report this one's been all you could hope for as an NFL fan just a one-point game here at halftime this has been as much fun as you could hope for with both these teams in it to win it all right coach thanks yeah both teams likely to make some changes in what's been a closely fought battle to this point Sanders now to kick this one [Applause] away and just shatting him off there and they're going to start this drive in pretty good shape as they get it up past the 30 the cowboy offense set to go to begin this third quarter this offense Charles had a strong first half throwing the football at least in terms of yardage but that hasn't translated so far on the scoreboard as they begin the third quarter here trailing and looking for a little momentum yeah you're right about that because you know let's face it in the first half most of their focus was in the passing game and to their credit resulted in a healthy amount of yardage so I would think that at halftime they're going to anticipate that defense loosening up a little bit to try and cover the passing lanes they've got to get the running game going and there should be some gaps to run through now to the 40 and no further The razzled Dazzle though got him a couple extra on the play that's good the completion there for seven yards and it'll be second [Applause] [Music] [Applause] down here's Prescott and his throw is going to be incomplete the coverage keyed in on him since that last completion his way he earned a little more attention on that route and that made it a lot tougher to get a clean throw his way so the incomplete pass on the last play and that leads us to a third and three now Prescott he'll get this to Elliot and he'll be taken down but he does have first down yardage a five yards on the play there as the drive will continue and that one was a lot of fun right there cuz that was the game within the game third and short Brits was on this the key for the quarterback get out of your hands in a hurry and that was a quick little completion got the job done for a first [Applause] down out of the gun here's Prescott it's caught tolber and he's able to take it across Midfield before going out of [Applause] bounds here's second and three [Music] Prescott to throw it this throw incomplete nearly picked off and with his pedigree he doesn't drop many of those but third down coming up those are the ones you dream of as Defenders I think if he gets eyes on the ball a little bit earlier he might come away with it instead it's going to wind up as just an incomplete pass Prescott from the gun on third working middle of the field and he's got him man complete and he's got another first down as he's brought down at the Dolphins 20 yd line it was third and short and they go flying past the marker for a gain of nearly 30 yards normally on third down and short yardage you're thinking to throw to your tight end it's just going to be a simple chain mover but this time they let him roam down the field and a nice Dart picks up the first down and then some you can just kind of sense the momentum turning here it's first and 10 to the air again Prescott he gets it to Cooks and they've got it inside the 10 at the eight it's a first down his fourth catch of the game after having three in the first half just picking up yardage in bunches here these last few plays they have moved right down the field and just like that they can be set up with a first and [Music] [Applause] goal now Elliot down at the two broke through first Contact But ultimately stopped shy of the goal line a good run of six yards there gets him closer to the goal line with second down coming up it's larger been the Air Attack that's gotten him down here but now is where you start to lean on that running game that's a good pick up there on first and goal again it's Elliot and he will take it in for a Cowboy score a Ezekiel Elliot with his second touchdown of the night and the Cowboys have taken the lead as they go right down the field and score on the opening drive of the second half well I tell you Ezekiel Elliot he is just built like a bowling ball and he powered his way into the end zone there I love that description of him because when you think about Zeke you think about lower body strength and those legs churning and creating extra yardage now Mike McCarthy going to decide to go for two here Prescott they're going to throw for it and that is caught for the two points so they go with a pass there on the twoo try and able to convert it Charles and a good job by the offense figuring out their two-point play and using it well it's interesting how people are using the strategy nowadays though isn't it it really is and I don't know how much that one that particular play factored in but with the pat moving back in 1516 that kind of changed things didn't it it's really a part of everyone's strategy now when I talk with coaches and when we sit with them they always talk about they actually have two-point periods in practice now something they never really did before so after the touchdown Aubrey now to kick this one away and they'll get him down inside the 30 at the 27 so here are the Dolphins now they get ready for their first possession of the second half Tua and the Dolphins now with a first and 10 at their own [Music] 27 a man who was both a prep and Collegiate star here in the Lone Star State Devon hn and that to the 30 it'll be second down they'd love to just strike back with a touchdown right here and if it's a long play so be it but the main goal get a coup first downs run some plays run some clock allow their defense to get a chance to catch their breath settle down and relax a little bit after they just gave up the score Tua sets up to pass it he'll get this to his tight end it's Janu Smith a gain of three last play this time they double it and pick up six let's not quibble about the game there on second down that was a positive play because that was a take what you can guess situation got out to the tight end now it gives him much better opportunity to convert on third down so they just need one yard here to pick up the first down they'll try and run here with moer and he will have first down yardage as he's brought down at the 41 five yds is the pickup there as that extends this drive I have to think a major focus of the halftime meanss had to be figuring out how to create space for the running game to get operating well what you pointed out to me at half seems accurate that line has struggled to sustain blocks yeah I would agree with that totally they've got to focus on on their double teams at the first level make sure that Block's secur before they slide off and try and Chip someone at the second level yeah that's good for a gain of six and that will bring up second down just about every quarterback is trained to really look down field first before you come back and make a nice safe throw and in this case that's exactly what he did found his running back let him create some space it turned out to be a nice play for the [Applause] offense up the middle they go with moer and very little Running Room there he did get a couple up to the 49 so they'll get a little extra time to come up with this third down play as we've played three quarters you are watching the NFL on EA Sports back now in Arlington it's Dolphin football but they Trail here as we get set for the fourth and they'll let their fullback try and push the pile and he will be very close to a first down but I see the Clos Fist of the referee and that means fourth down I bet they thought they had picked that one up because it was a third and two call and they got awfully close now we're at fourth in inches I wonder if they think they're feeling lucky here and maybe want to go pick it up one score down here we go they're going to go for it here on fourth down they'll try it now with moer and this will depend on the Mark I'm not sure he pushed the line forward and indeed he did not they stop him the Dolphins can't convert on fourth down and this defense will take over right near Midfield at the 49 yd line so he needed the short yard as Charles he elected to try to bounce it outside of the outer third unsuccessful sometimes those plays are stacked up by the defense and there's nowhere to go so you have to bounce it outside and some backs just get impatient they want to go to where they think there's more open territory instead of going where the play was actually blocked in any case it didn't work here so Prescott of the Cowboys now with a first and 10 right at the 50 yd line from the Midfield strike they'll look to throw and that is incomplete he couldn't hold on through the contact brings up second down normally being a big bodied receiver plays to their advantage downfield go up and make the catch take the hit and pick up yardage but in this case the hit was timed really well and popped it free from his grasp now Prescott he's across Midfield and finally marked down at the 42 yd line that'll leave him with a third and two coming up they got eight yards there you decide to run a hitch route it really helps to have a guy who can turn it loose and boy he rifled one in there on that one not much run after catch but it worked really well the offense on third down tonight they've converted four times out of six not bad this time they face a third and two and he's got the first before he's brought down at the 39 yd line only three there on the pickup but that's enough to move the chains this offensive line starting to win up front you win that battle in the trenches you can kind of wear them down here late so you bring in the second part to that equation and that's the big running back the big Bruiser who can get more than what's blocked and break a few extra tackles and gain yardage his throw incomplete his back has been a Dependable safety valve all game so he went back to him when his first read was covered just un able to connect so the play results in no gain now a second and 10 looking to throw Prescott a short one there taken in by Ferguson they get seven out of that so they're left with a third and three and there's a completion to the tight end and look at the size of these players nowadays at that spot 6'4 65 and up a lot of guys used to be basketball players somehow came back to football and that's really good for the game of football you're getting better athleticism great hand eye coordination guys who know how to control their bodies when they run their routes able to fight oh no he lost the football and this is picked up by the Dolphins and his guys are going to get the football at the 28 yd line well partner here's where team football gets tested a little bit because I know the defensive guys were over there chilling on the sidelines and all of a sudden they heard the sudden change call because that fumble puts them right back on the field and they've got to go out and finish the game now themselves absolutely nursing that slim lead here in the fourth a costly turnover Miami set to take over and at this stage in the fourth they need to work this into the end zone a field goal doesn't do much we'll see if they can cash in following the fumble recovery tongue of isoa and the Dolphins come up first and 10 at their own 28 yd line they'll swing this complete out to Hill and down right around the 32 yd line four yds on the pickup one thing I think that's safe to say defensively the tackling has been really good and because of that it's been very very hard for them to move the ball because you're not the benefits of run after catch they tackle them almost on the spot that means they have to run extra plays Harder To Move It In Motion Hill on playaction here's Tua and his throws going to be incomplete in most pass defenses the guy playing safety has the ability to roam free and try and go to the football but when you're in man you've got to cover just like a guy plan out on the Corner lock up on the receiver and go to the football that's exactly what he did batting that one away one of the bigger plays in the game thus far and the crowd getting into it as we come up on a big third down Tu are going to throw and two are going to slide to a halt but he will have the first down the drive stays intact with a pickup of 13 if they get a gamechanging score on this drive it's going to be because of plays like that that run was Pure Heart took it himself found a way to reset the downs and Advance the ball in motion Hill off of playaction Tong of miloa open man downfield is Hill and he is out of bounds inside the 35 and now we're going to get a stoppage as yeah that looks like Jackson who's shaking up hopefully obviously nothing serious here medical staff though going to take a peak and we'll take a break [Applause] all three timeouts plus the two-minute warning here's first and [Applause] 10 from the gun it's Tua this one thrown underneath to hm and they'll get this one to about the 20 yd line I like the design that we're seeing right there this is what they need down by touchdown here in the fourth they just need to keep working their way down field and when they see openings take their shots fourth quarter down to the final two minutes and we've got a onore game so the Dolphins have it as we welcome you back in here's first and 10 they come up on a first and 10 10 desperately needing a score here of what could be their final drive they showed off a nice Juke of the defender before the next wave could bring him [Applause] down now second down and a few inches Tua that'll be caught by Hill and the Dolphins are going to be set up with a first and goal on a pass play that moves them all the way down to the one and ever since Tyreek Hill arrived in Miami somehow taking his game to new heights he's eclipsed the 1700 yd Mark in each of the last two years and at one point last season it seemed that he was destined to be the first wide receiver to Total 2,000 receiving yards in a single season he's truly a special talent has become the focal point of arguably the most explosive offense in the NFL now twoa he's got it touchdown Dolphins Devon hn a Oney touchdown reception and the Dolphins are an extra point away from tying this game here in the final minutes well the hard part's done now they just need to split the post tie it up but then their defense is going to have to hold up to send it to overtime yeah no matter what I know there's an inclination when you have momentum to go for two here but if you miss it you don't give your defense a chance at all plus it's been a good game I want to see overtime I'm selfish you obviously don't have a flight to catch tomorrow Sanders now to add the extra point and we are ti here in the fourth quarter so that drive goes eight plays and it ends with a touchdown for the Dolphins [Applause] [Music] now this one setting up for a great finish all tied in the fourth as the kicks away and it's a pretty good return here as he'll get this up to the 29 and now Dallas gets set to take the field well partner here it is they've got the chance to win the game you'd have to think they need to get it near the opposite 40 to have a chance to kick a game-winning field goal we'll see what they can do and you're right about that cuz if we look at it in macro that's what it looks like but I think in micro the head coach has already asked the special teams coach what is he feeling what does he think where does he want the football what's the yard line we have to get and he's already relayed that to his quarterback and his offense they know what the goal is and oh he caught it up and now this ball picked up by the offense but here in the final two minutes of the game this will be blown dead only the fumbler can advance against the football so this will go back to the spot of the fumble [Applause] itself here and play for OT or do you go ahead and press it down field here now third down here's Dak and that is incomplete well the defense certainly did its job they held up in that situation and now fourth down you've got to punt this and try to get to overtime there's no decision to be made in my estimation here's Brian anger now as he's on to punt for the first time tonight we'll call that a 43 defensively how do they adjust to that if they do work the sideline it's the old leverage game and we usually talk about leverage at the line of scrimmage right who's going to win with the low blocking and everything that goes along with that but in this case you're trying as a Defender to leverage them towards the middle of the field not let them get to the sidelines and try and Tackle them in bounds in order to run the clock out chess match here late he's got it complete to Waddle and he'll get out of bounds here as well what a play play Big yardage they stop the clock and they move it to the boundary of field goal range as well and this is one of those got to have it drives you can't start much better than that big yardage there and just as important he's able to get out of the right leg of their kicker his first attempt of the night here and it's a big one it's for the win and this one is right through and it's celebration time on that sideline as they have taken the lead in the final seconds so they tried to ice him there but it's fair fair to say it did not have the intended effect and I've known kickers that take it as an AFF front and there he says you think you're going to Rattle me think again after the field goal Here Comes Sanders to kick it away and a nice return sets him up pretty good here right at the 30 yd [Applause] line one last shot now for Prescott [Applause] [Music] and it's incomplete so their final drive comes up empty and with that the ball game is over and a fun close ball game comes to an end on that last play Charles they were on the wrong side of Midfield they needed something near a miracle and they couldn't get it done yeah the effort that was good very good in fact they were just a little too far out to get a decent look
