that supposed to be a big you know I don't know there's there's confetti or there's champagne bottle somewhere I'm sure we're going to start with a left tackle out in the Bay Area and big news on him on the big guy one of the best players in the NFL also new commanders running back Austin Eckler so elusive evasive did not get to grab him we were there uh at Camp the other month but he will join the show today could they make the playoffs could they be super super sneaky Jaden Daniels could he outperform even the number one overall pick at rookie quarterback Caleb Williams we'll talk to him about all those things um we also have um I guess like news about New York to share we'll get to that right now all right happy Tuesday everybody coming off a three-day weekend uh Hamilton is here we've got an amazing show Austin Eckler our first guest we're going to really dig into predicton because uh hammy I have punted on this thing like you wouldn't believe but we finally we had like a two-hour phone conversation yesterday um and I appreciate that I know it's Labor Day but I think we were the only sport show off like what other sport show had off yesterday yeah it's true and uh yeah I'm glad we're I'm glad we're able to dig in on those uh on those predictions and and get to a place where you're feeling good about and comfortable about making some of these calls and you know limiting the collateral damage it's not about limiting the you're making it about that that's not true it's about it's about my lack of thinking anybody's gonna lose a game this year that's what it comes down to I don't know if we have it uh queued up but let's go over the predictions we have so far really quickly that Caleb Williams will break um obviously the Chicago record for passing he'll hit over 4,000 yards that's easy peasy stuff that's fine then we have that JJ Watt and congrats to TJ watt they're having a baby um but his brother JJ Watt sorry CBS put your little ear muffs on here your rookie Lake isolation Booth uh stuff I don't want you to hear this but he's going to make an appearance he's going to be back with the Texans on their way to a Super Bowl maybe and then everyone's wondering who the wide receiver one is in Green Bay oh there isn't one we don't need one BS it's Romeo dos he'll be used the most he'll be all over the field it'll be the security blanket he'll be the true number one a leading receiver May Christian Watson might get more touchdowns though I don't know I don't know I don't know if he will but he'll be the leading receiver um so we're gonna have to hit this heavy as we're what like four days from kickoff yeah uh three days from kickoff yeah wow we're going in lot of predictions over the next three days um control room saying two days from kickoff 48 hours from out that's crazy I know every NFL suit s first class eating their you know whatever uh I don't even know what they eat what the what the what the meal is down to Rio uh where they're going to have the big game on Friday uh NFL full force will be down there of course Eagles Packers That'll be amazing we'll be tracking that game and I guess we have news here we have a new audience you're you're in New York you're giving the only credibility on the show outside of Germain luminor who'll be joining us uh we are on MSG apparently I just swore and we were on MSG Network the home of uh I believe the I'd like some courtside seats thank you kidding uh the Rangers oh I might I might want to go to I've never been to a Rangers game how crazy is that and the Eli Manning show which means Eli's gonna have to appear at some point this season of course yeah and I mean I don't know why you think I would uh I'd be excited about this it's not like I you know grew up watching the Nicks and Rangers listening to Clyde and Mike Breen and Sam Rosen and Joe MTI um very pumped up for this and I know you hate me right now this is our no it's great well this is our third our third season so welcome MSG we talk all sports like whatever whatever he was just saying I can't I don't even know what he was just saying uh I I lived in New York 12 Years love it best sport City in the entire world and uh unhinged fan base which we love first year we ever did this show I begged Conrad our our producer to do like a call-in segment like I wanted callers I wanted and now that we're on MSG you got to think we can run that back back I want callers I want people calling in with their gripes about Aaron Rogers week through we at post week one turning it over and coughing it up to charvarius Ward um and dador Lenor I forgot that that was a thing that uh that you wanted and I think that would be awesome to bring back especially now with this with this New York market and everything that comes with it love on Hench f i was watching Eisen Eisen has callers calling in all the time mcafe used to have call come call in I don't know if they still do all the time but they they've done it we can do it I want to do callers and I want them to be screened only for east coast and their unhinged Factor has to be like an eight or above like I want the sky is falling Jets fan um after week one but listen MSG uh so excited to be part of the family so grateful this will be a lot of fun usually we dig into news a little bit quickly but we're dilly-dallying off a three-day weekend um you're probably back at work doing your thing in your office not wanting to work let's make this an enjoy able Tuesday for you thanks hammy U big news on the west coast uh going on here with kickoff week we got a pretty big development in the bay Tom peliso our friend from NFL media um being the sick pup the true sick pup that he is he tweets this screenshot from Trent Williams Brothers Instagram story definitely makes it seem like future Hall of Famer um Trent Williams is on his way to Santa Clara to join the team with a very large dog I might add his agency confirmed Ming he's on his way there to finalize a deal with the team I don't know how John Lynch does it he's amazing at pushing the decimal points back and forth to make it work with all of the superstars for the NFC favorite they get auk back last Thursday CMC by the way returning to practice from his calf injury F that's out of the way number one overall fantasy pick Coast to Coast um and now Trent is on his way Kyle Shanahan I feel like he's been through a lot this off season terrible loss and then one thing after the other things that he can't control he's just trying to coach who's out there uh and it looks like the Niners after all this drama are going to have the full compliment of stars in this critical year critical year of their window okay prie let's see what you got and I bet he's never been happier to have a Monday night game right it'll give auk and Trent that extra day to get ready if Trent decides to show up before said game against the Jets I'll say this I think him it's not it's like a non-story I think this was the plan all along I'm the best at what I do I'm good th those people can show up and just go right and if you have any worries about him being prepared for week one you should not and I will let George KD who joined us last week explain why I'll say Trent Williams is like it's so like of the people that I've ever played and played with so like I can't talk on like um like Reggie White because like I never played him like watch this film he's amazing Hall of f like all that like Trent Williams and Aaron Donald are like here and then everyone else is kind of like all the next best players are like there and so it's just like uh would we love to have TR training Camp sure he's doing what he thinks is best for him we respect that decision and we know that when he does show up it's I'm going to get Trent Williams and the great thing about Trent Williams is I don't need a lot of rep SS at Trent Williams because he can block anybody like we could have a like a combo block or have a defensive end up to a linebacker and most of the time it's George get out of my way you go block the linebacker and I'll just take care of this these guys must have been so happy to not have him out there on defense right they have to be like they had to be having the time of their lives this offseason after that long sigh you just heard from George k a four time allpro friend of the show joining us two week two times in one week um he'll be back ahead of week one I have no issues with this is you know tough matchup really tough Jets defense might be the best defense in the AFC maybe Texans are going to be up there um but I'd be really surprised if they don't hit the ground running full full blast on Monday night they are the favorites over on FanDuel Sportsbook if you're into that sort of thing and I would be remiss if I talked about these Niners and didn't mention uh everything that's gone on with this team obviously a lot of adversity that they've had as a team losing Super Bowls always being great but never quite getting there that already builds builds them callus and brings the team together they're such a family team over the weekend I saw Kristen use check and every they were I don't I don't know the details details of the party I didn't look but they had some sort of pre-season pre kickoff get together it was a big party like not every NFL team does that and I don't think the team put it on I think the players put it on they Galvanize you have George KD inviting 14 15 members of his team when they have a preseason uh game down in Nashville to come stay at his home to host them to do all of that the wives are all friends I don't know if that's true but but maybe they are but they you this is a familial team it's why it really plays into why they're a great team and they've dealt with a lot and then you add in this horrifying heartbreaking situation with rookie Ricky peol okay I remember being at Camp I was watching him like the you know the new ad watching him do his thing young full of life wanting to make a name for himself doing the best he can uh scary situation he him literally getting shot midday um talk to some people with the team just to send love he obviously back home I don't know much more than wanting to say get better heal up and why I bring up all the stuff about them being a familial team they will come together for for this with this for him um and all of that so it's just just another thing you're going to put on the ners the ners plate that they'll they'll come together and I sort of like feel good about the support and the rallying that will go around him for him his family um the community fans and all of that but of course prayers to Ricky peol um did not get a chance to meet him when I was out there but sending love prayers thoughts um his way let's move to Chicago okay middle of the country now MSG Network stay tuned stay with it here the Bears might have made the biggest flash I've ever seen when it came to announcing team captains for 2024 they choose four captains on defense four on offense which included rookie Caleb Williams by the way and before you start asking things like well did he really earn it here is head coach Matt EO explaining how it happened when he was asked if he'd ever had a rookie Captain before yeah I haven't had had that before uh but again I I put it to a vote um I had it with offense and defense and I had the guys rank those guys and uh he came out really high so uh all those guys did that's what's great about it and we had other guys that had great great votes too just not enough to get into that Captain's vote but uh that's a really good sign that he's got leadership throughout the entire team it's one thing to be named the starting quarterback pretty much from the moment you show up but to be voted a captain by your peers before you've ever played a game in the NFL is wild it is a lot and I don't think it's BS it tracks with what we all heard what I've heard from Caleb's teammates I was there at Camp um leadership kept coming you know I was expecting to feel some sort of rookie young 20-some Vibe I didn't I felt confidence I felt you know a lot of poise from him I felt leadership the second I sat down with him and if you're wondering um about what kind of a leader he is what his style is here's what he said to me I'm a little fiery I like I like uh I like things being right I like things being perfect I like us getting you know getting the stuff right obviously I have to control it to a certain extent uh because of position because you know everybody you know is going to look at the QB and things like that if I'm out there losing my losing my stuff um it's not going to be a good look for you know the next play or for defense whatever the case may be so um so so I would say a little fiery but also you know in control not naming names but some people out there have questioned the idea that a rookie can be a leader and I do not think that that's totally fair I think guys have Natural Instinct I mean here was watching him on the field this is the best play of the preseason oh my God I lost my actual mind I think Caleb is that dude it's I just like how we like Splash that random random play in there which we love uh I mean it's all resonating it's all working and we see what they do they're now four and a half Point favorites they were three and a half when I got up this morning tell me more that's pretty interesting isn't it's not surprising not surprising but it's just you know they're on it as soon as something happens all of a sudden everything starts shifting you think that has nothing to do with Christian McCaffrey's availability I mean sure we knew he was going to be B Kyle you know Kyle was pretty throughout like we're just it's precaution he'll be back week you weren't there were you when I was there you weren't there no I don't know man there's just this what I'm just seeing people like leaving them out you know like leaving them out of the NFC conversation or like what and it's just like I don't know when I when you're there you just feel the and I meant what I said they had they had some like huge party this weekend and everyone's like it's just like it's just different there and the Wag the wives and girlfriends thing isn't a little part of it like that's why I was kept I was asking Fred Warner and I was asking George like how much does that matter they all are they're so tight and like which team has been through more adversity I guess like more like tough heartbreak I I guess the Vikings but that crew wasn't together this crew's been together you know what I'm saying yeah like now they've I mean meaning the the georgees I mean like Trent wasn't there for the first Super Bowl loss and like whatever but like I'm sure when you join a locker room that has that hanging over them it gets you right what happened um at the Miami Super Bowl and then what just happened like how do you get over these things and it's they they maybe have the toughest fortitude as a team I think than anybody I think yeah and I do you have to have that Titan group if you don't have that it does start to unravel on you when you go through does get enough credit for that we should put that out about the line changing can you put that out I have snipples okay maybe you did your fantasy drafts over the weekend so you need to trade for these guys maybe you doing your draft tonight maybe you're doing it at work during your accounting meeting on Zoom when you have it muted um either way hear me out here are three running backs you either need to draft or need to trade for these dudes are so undervalued hear me out on verre Stevenson he could be tops I love him this year the Patriots offense has some concerns yes yes yes but hear me out he's going as a lowend rb2 and a lot of that's because his stats took a hit last year sharing the back field with Zeke Zeke is gone and the offense is going to funnel through him do not forget he finished seventh among running backs not long ago back in 2022 when he did get the work the volume he does a lot with it I love the value for him questions about the o line sure but Stevenson 21st off the board get him on your team next up Zach Moss ooh we keep hearing I keep hearing Zach Moss's name trust me I'm plugged into this team the new Bengal he's going outside the top 30 at running back remember he started eight games last year in Indie he averaged over 90 total yards per game six touchdowns he's going to be the guy this year everyone in Cincy raving about him I think he is an absolute steal at that spot so if you're still drafting grab him or before the season kicks off just get him on your team go make that that trade um should I say guys to trade away maybe I'm not really negative that way though so uh let's go with another one for you hear me out on JK Dobbins this is a lowrisk situation High reward though high ceiling for where he's going 46 at running back I know the injury history is concerning hear me out though the upside huge behind the monster o line this is Greg Roman I know everyone's trying to say Greg Roman he's going to do more than run the ball this is the guy who's like born to run the ball that's like his that's the tattoo he wears around on his forehead I know how to have a running offense is stealing significantly higher than guys like Tai Chandler um who are going in the same spot so I would snag him as your last RB so there you have it K's NFL season predictions and here she is with her pcks Gary Adams everybody's doing their predictions and so are we the NFL season kicks off in on Thursday it's insane it's like 48 hours from now unbelievable um let's let's just get right into this here I'm going to give you guys a twofer okay let's get right to it um there will be three not one not two three running backs in the 2024 season that all go over 2,000 rushing not scrimmage not allpurpose not to rushing why is this crazy cuz only eight players in NFL history have ever done it I feel like and I know it's a world that sort of seems um antithetical it seems counterintuitive to like the we pass and we throw the ball over the field it's going to happen this year I feel really good about this one we uh it's going to happen um there's an extra game of course that's one reason I like I like it and sort of can hedge that uh but I feel like the running back position is stacked as ever and so this came up when I was doing my fantasy draft and fantasy prep work here like CMC obvious candidate perennially he can do it year in year out and so is this guy who we've seen come close before take a look let's not pretend it's easy to hit 2K exactly that's why I'm like it's it's not easy what soever um but um if you have the guys up front which I believe we do I mean the o line up front those guys I don't think people give them enough credit with how smart they are yes they're very physical they can move people out the way they're very very smart their techniques their alignment their assignment and I think that's what allowed us to have that year we did in 2021 and I think that we're up for it again this year we should have had his name on the screen Jonathan Taylor there it is right there this is the guy he's going to do it I think we see Jonathan Taylor do it the offensive line Anthony Richardson presence healthy the two of them played two snaps together all of last year still a top 10 offense Shane Sten is that dude make no mistake I think he knows what he has Jonathan Taylor who by the way he did say like you know he had 1800 yards not long ago and I said 200 easy and he's like oh it's not that easy I think he does it I think he does it and Anthony Richardson only helps him do it uh I think beon is in play I talked to him in Atlanta he wants it he thinks his OC is going to get him the ball the way that his former head coach was not able to that all kicks off by the way week one against the Steelers which will be really fun to watch I mean he might get he might get Hamilton I'll bring you in here he might get half of these yards in this first game up against the mustachioed one yeah you could tell um seeing Arthur Smith again meant meant a little something to him not in a negative way you know he was very positive about everything but you could tell it means something to him to to get the opportunities get the ball the way he probably thought he should have been getting it last year and be able to show out with Arthur Smith on that other sideline uh and then the last one I mean it might be four okay it might be Bree Hall you can't tell me and this isn't some like you know um uh whatever like playing and we love the New York market like you and I have been obsessed with Breeze hall for the longest even last year and you got to think if they're trying to do this uh you know hacky 2021 Packers Vibe he's Aaron Jones but I think he's going to run a ton in this offense yeah they're going to feed him the ball the only thing that could end up working against him is he could he could catch 90 to 100 B balls this year with with the way they might use him in that passing game but he had a phenomenal year last year when everybody knew all the Jets offense was was him running the ball and he still put up numbers what did you make of meeting him we were by by the way a surprise we were down there to hang out with big boys uh in offensive lineman and Frisco for uh o masterminds and in was and Jamar Chase was there by the way Smiley as ever uh we ran into Bree Hall and he was kind enough he dropped everything and said I'll do an interview um and I think he wants he literally said to me the I'm the only sorry to the center he said uh the only the only person touching the ball more than Aaron roders this year is me he wants it so bad he really does and I and I do think he's locked and and there is a little something of a of a chip on his shoulder um he actually he did a camp um with our kids in relle last summer and you know seeing a couple running backs like bejan and Jamir Gibbs go in the first round when he had to wait till the second round I think that did a little something to him I think um having Aaron Rogers you know available is going to make things so much easier for him and he knows it and he's excited for this opportunity uh okay let's get to my next prediction here so all those there a lot of running backs are going to hit 2K I'm telling you it's going to be unprecedented my uh another prediction I have the Dolphins are going to win their first playoff game in like a really long time 24 years it's happening get ready these uh last two playoff exits they were rough but they had a lot to do with injuries they really did if this team can just stay healthy it's finally going to happen tyreq said just yesterday this is the best Dolphins team he's been a part of Tua taking more ownership vocal settles paid settled feels good feels wanted that's all he needed like Mike McDaniel you know he's just like the perfect person person to draw that sort of thing he knows how to manage people really really well it's a sight to see um and I think they're ready to take a leap so let's put you know Jay feedler Lamar Smith highlights to bed welcoming in a new era of playoff success in Miami so quick recap to uh you know catch us up we got five more to go these are my five alltime Bears passing yards record will be broken by Caleb that's kind of easy JJ Watt will return to the NFL why because no one's shutting the damn door on that cerio not Ryan so I think it'll happen eventually especially if they're in contention which they will be they might win the Super Bowl uh Romeo dobs leading all Packers receivers that is your truee number one just a guess just a hunt from being there uh three running backs will hit 2K rush yards in the Dolphins win their first playoff game in 24 years all right we'll hit you guys with predicted on oh what is that drum roll for our next guest potentially let's do this um okay I guess I will bring in our guy a Eckler Austin good to see it's it's it's a weird to say you're a commander but not so much because I saw you in the uniform we didn't get to DAP each other up where where are you um I'm in this brick dungeon as you can see here uh no I'm out I'm out in Virginia this is just my my studio set up but yeah it's it's different but it's uh it's built on me you know the community out here has been uh nothing nothing but showing love and so it's been awesome uh to get implemented out here in the on the East Coast now I love that you're saying that because cuz it is a special fan basee and it gets totally slept on if there's not some uh hungry we're mad we're jilted vibe to them there is this we are so freaking excited we believe in the foundation that Adam Peters has put together we love DQ we are running through the wall anyone any place anytime uh can you sort of pump up what the mood is with this team and I'm hanging out with Kevin Durant later this week and he's a big fan so you've got some star support too yeah absolutely it's been a It's been a ton of anticipation uh for this year because look there's a lot of new things that are happening right new ownership new coaches we had like 60 guys on you know that we brought in from free agency from different places so there's a lot of new news around uh the Commander's building and so including myself and so when you have all of these new things going on um there's a lot of like oh I wonder how this is going to play out you know even including from our us as players we're out there on the field but you never know until you get a you know out there on Sunday we we feel like we're building something in the right direction you know we have Cliff as our offensive coordinator and so that's been great being on the field with him what's he like what's he all about in 2024 uh Cliff man Cliff's about having a good time and making sure that you know hey hey if you know Cliff then you know um but he's he's my guy he's a guy that's he's wanting to get the boys on all together on the same page and put us in positions to make plays uh but definitely a fun offensive coordinator to be a part of um what do you mean he's all about fun and what does his house look like out there all I'm picturing is him Fe kicked up I don't know this man on that level like come on now I don't know he seems like a man that would invite you over for some like wild party that you could not talk about that they like make you sign an NDA at the door like the phones are going in the case my lips are sealed you going to have to find that one out in your own yeah Cliff's wild but you have a smile on your face he seems very happy there yeah something I appreciate about Cliff is that every meeting he always asks like hey does anyone have a story or anything that happened or like he loves to open up the floor just to get the conversation going there's not always something that we have but like he wants to make it and he does make it feel like you know it's it's yes work but it's also like we're here together um and so I appreciate him bringing some of that that togetherness into the culture uh and and it's not about fun and games he doesn't you know like this is a team I know you're talking about what you're building but Adam Peter said this weekend like we're we're building but we want we expect to win like there's not some we're in a rebuild let's give it some time um let's whatever let's uh let's talk about the congratulations quickly that are in order to you because this weekend you're Alma mat Western Colorado become the first became the first college institution I believe to sign with your freaking Tech platform that's blowing up right now tell me about it yeah heck yeah so um I've been on a journey to enhance the fan engagement space Not only in college but also in the Pro uh segment as well because I feel like as fans you have a distance from us and so I was like how can I bring that up we're going up just continue to stack bricks over here that's that's all I know and so making a making a big impact where I can making an impact where I can building communities building value for communities building value for myself and the people around me like that is what I am out here looking to do um you know I'm a kid from a small town didn't know kind of where my journey was going to take me still don't but what I do know is that I'm going to put a ton of effort into just continue to be the best version of myself and hopefully inspired others to do the same it's amazing now tell me everything I need to know about Jaden because here's what happened I I showed up to Camp I talked to Adam the GM I talked to the coach I talked to Payne I talked to no one wanted to it was like y'all are trying to keep the the secret you don't want nobody wanted me to like talk up Jaden obviously wasn't name the starter at that point but nobody's dumb we know how special this player is what has impressed even you well I just in there's a lot of things that have impressed me um too much to talk about in this short segment that we have here um I think he's just got the pieces around him too that are going to help him shine even even better um and then just him being a professional at such a young age uh reminds me of you know herb when he came in and look at the career he's had um and you still having and then just when you see a young player come in Buy in really take ownership in and learning his players making sure to get on the same page as his guys it's like yeah we got a good one um and then also obviously have to be able to do it physically make the throws make the decisions make the checks um and do it with a new offense with cliff and he what he's been able to do and moving guys around all over the place I just see us in a position where yes you know Adam said you know we're expecting to win obviously we're putting on this work but you know like I'm I'm very confident in what we have with our team especially offensively uh to go out there and make plays with Jaden running it uh okay it's a good it's a good answer give what what can I expect I guess from him you have you have week one um do you have like a D's gonna be electric like he's gonna be electric like he's gonna be running throwing yeah you know he's gonna be making guys miss getting down when he needs to get down uh has that been a point has that point what else do you expect has him getting down to a point of go out there and do he's going to go be a stud that's all he knows how to so that's what we're how much how much do him protecting himself how much of a point of emphasis was that during camp and preseason yeah it's well all the quarterbacks like all of these guys they have their own rules to protect them you know so we got to make sure these Young Bucks that come in here understand that hey there's a reason we have these rules to protect you guys because you're not used to getting hit like I am um you know so make sure you utilize that and get your butt down when you need to get down but that doesn't mean don't go make plays now it just means hey if the ride's over get off the ride and go down go on to the next play you mentioned Justin Herbert herb as you call him any similarities uh as far as the the attention to to detail and actually wanting to like be in that role and embrace that yes uh but they're two different types of players though so um and time will tell i' I've played obviously a few years with her I haven't played with uh with Jaden as much so we'll see how it plays out over time I mean you helped Justin Herbert set the record his rookie year in 20 yeah you it doesn't it doesn't hurt when you have a running back they can catch a lot of balls um to help you you know get your receiving stats up there so uh okay I'm glad that that I was able to do that good teammate right there are you catching the ball more than you're running the ball this year is that what I'm getting how many catches you racking up this year I don't know we'll see how it plays out you know we can't give away everything here sheesh 90 90 Plus 90 plus catches we'll see we'll see that be that'd be nice how many catches is Luke mcaffrey stealing from you o stealing is not the right word there come on come on can't tell me tell me that's what matters Luke mcaffry is gonna be a thing though no joke like come on you can tell me hey the mccaffrie tend to do pretty well when they get on the field so uh I think that trend is going to keep going that's a that's a uh that is a a BS answer you know that you're going 36 that running back on like fantasy sites what is that hey look this is I live in a world where you're judged on what you did for me recently and last year it was a dud year for us in the Chargers won five games and we suck so that's what you're going to get okay I I've seen I'm just saying I've seen a 100 yard I've seen 100 catch Seasons out of you I just feel like seen 100 catches seen 9 thou or 900 receiving yards seen 20 touchdowns seen 16 All Purpose 1600 all purpose yards also saw last year R had you know a thousand allpurpose yards and like six touchdowns you know it's like ah Bad season you know so we got to get back on back on the horse and uh you know get back to what I know is it weird to be in a in a different place I was talking to Derek Carr obviously he's been with the Saints a bit now but he sort of said to me and he really harped on it in a way that I believed him where he goes it's now I have a year under my belt I'm settled like my fam settled this like you're newly married then you make this move and he said you know it was a lot in the offseason to deal with and then go into a season uh what did you like learn about that experience of having to change teams and start with this one and maybe like what's the biggest difference from your old Squad that that you loved and love do so much yeah I I definitely um you know had ties and still have ties with all of the charger Community out there so they will forever have a place in my heart no doubt you know playing seven years over there is something that I'll never never forget and just the fan love out there and a lot of those people I still stay in in contact with and um you know getting their love on social media and stuff like that um it's been different but it's also been great I think for myself I've just kind of lived and thrived off of having to adapt to new circumstances and I think that's what's made me kind of special is because regardless of the circumstances I've been able to at least get myself in a position to find some type of success and I'm looking forward to doing that as well it doesn't guarantee anything um but it definitely puts me in a situation right now coming from west to east coast where hey I have a whole bunch of new things that I have to get involved in now I have to establish myself with new coaches new teammates um in the community as well looking forward to to building some weight rooms out here with my foundation so let's implement what I can with the resources that I have around me and the community that I have as well so it hasn't been hard it's just been something that I've you know kind of adapted to and will go on and and push forward how disappointed are you you don't have the Chargers on your schedule disappoint I I the thing is I don't even know who's on the schedule I just know we're playing Tampa Bay week one I am like very weak to week I cannot see very far in my schedule because my life is so jam-packed with things experience football um my wife wife now and so it's like hey whoever on the schedule they they can you know they can get it that week uh you get the a shot at the division Champions week one what do you think it's a new slate new slate I don't I don't know what happened over here last year I don't know what's going on I just know that I'm here now and we're building something new and so Champion or not Super Bowl winner last place in the league it doesn't matter you got to show up this is the NFL and everyone's trying to climb that rope or climb that ladder and uh you got to you got to treat every opponent with some uh respect or you're going to get you know blown out um so it it don't matter who we're playing I'm going in there with the most the most focus and sincerity and like I just we're bringing it you know we're bringing it but anyway I got to get going I know you got to bring it up New York Giant Germaine are you some sort of sick puff that you said you're excited for training camp who's excited for training camp yeah I think um with me just going through what I've been through in my career and now finally having a coach in a GM that truly believe in you it makes you excited to want to play for them and want to just give everything you have for them you know mean you were drafted by the Ravens you played with the Patriots you weren't a full-time starter uh until Vegas where you thrived what happened when you were in Vegas that clicked um I think the biggest thing is having coach Karm you know I was with him in New England and we built that relationship up and getting him in Vegas and just having him truly believe in me and believe in the talent that I've been blessed with was huge for me and also confidence I've struggled with confidence throughout my career and even today you know being a player I am and the player I want to become I still struggle with that and it's a constant fight to tell myself that I am who I am I'm confident I can go into the game and do everything I need to do in order to help this team win and I mean you have I mean you have your old karms with you now what's that like it's dope you know you know we go back and forth all the time but that's just our relationship we expect the most out of each other and he has standards for me I have high standards for myself and him as a o line coach being able to see him develop and become the old line coach he's become where people truly believe in him people see him as one of the best all line coaches in the league and they listen to every single thing he has to say is really cool to see and for me as a player to have a guy like that in my corner who I've been with knows me inside and out and is able to tell me the things I need to hear even though sometimes I don't want to hear them that means a lot what's something that he's told you that you didn't want to hear I mean you know as offensive lineman sometimes you call certain plays which you don't you know you don't really believe in on you know sometimes you don't really think they're going to work and him just telling me hey just relax and go out there and run the play and you know last year there was a couple times where that was the case I don't think that'll be the case this year because I truly believe in what we got going here but you know sometimes oine coach just has to be the bigger that he is until you L just shut up and go play like just relax just forget about it just go out there and just do what you need to do because and then they were going to do our job and we're gonna win and I love that he came over with you from Vegas I love that you're sort of you're very embraced by this fan base it doesn't happen all the time you know how did you how did you manage that I think just being myself I haven't changed a single bit since I've put this you know this blue shirt on and now I'm representing this logo I haven't changed at all I've been the same guy I've been for the last eight plus years in the NFL um the last three years I was at A&M I haven't changed at all but but I'm also really confident and I believe in myself and I believe in the talent God blessed me with and just my mindset and my determination and the things I was able to learn in Vegas from a guy like Max Crosby his work ethic the way he approached the game the way he carried himself as a pro and you know everything he put in towards the game that really affected me and really helped me become the guy am today where I just want to go head first into everything and I don't care who's in front of me who I got to block I'm going go out there and do my job every single time yeah Max craby made you a better player it sounds like 100% yeah he's better man he's so scary he is he's one of a kind he is one of a kind but I owe everything to that man just because getting to Vegas yeah I mean I I tell him that all the time too getting to Vegas the position I was in it was kind of for me it was this is really your lost opportunity to make something of yourself and make something of your career and because if you if you think about it before that I was in Jacksonville for a day literally I got cut from Miami who I was with for the off season so I get cut and then you know I have no idea where my career is going I have no idea what I'm doing I'm in a terrible place mindwise and mentally and then I get a call from Jacksonville they're like hey we don't know if you're gonna make a team but how about you just fly out here learn the offense in the day and then playing the third preseason game or fourth I think it was fourth back then and I was like you know I got to I I don't have a choice and so I went out there learned the offense in the day flew to Dallas the next day and then the day after that played against the Cowboys and then I got cut but I did enough for the Raiders to call me and say hey we're going to bring you in and put you on the 53 and see what happens and I knew that that truly was my last opportunity to make something in my career getting to be around Max just honestly I don't know where I'd be today if I wasn't around him just because like I said his work ethic and how his approach to the game is and his belief in himself and his confidence was it was agous and that's how I approach game now I don't you know I like I said he's one of a kind but that's why he's fa of the franchise over there he everything he does that you just want to do like you wanna not only fall line but you wanna you want to follow him into war because he's going to go and give everything he has in that game and you know Max will tell you like last year he was beat up and he did not care at all he went into those games and the effort he gave is it was con just like I'm saying I I want to be like I want to be like Max you know I want to be one the best in my position I want to be that guy who people look at like every single play he's gonna give everything he has it doesn't matter if he's hurt he's banged up they're down by 20 they're down by 30 he's gonna go out there and go crazy every single play and you're gonna have to you're gonna have to take it from him in order to beat him and that's the type of guy I want to be uh you this is wild that you're saying I mean this is like the highest regard that you're holding him in and I've heard you comp Burns to him so what am I supposed to think about Burns if you feel this way about Max burn is a dog he is a dog you know me being who I am like I said I'm confident in myself I'm confident in my ability and coming here I wanted to help this team and be the guy I am and truly help this team win and burns is the same way but Burns Out There is a freaking animal like going against him every single day is fun I love going against him because you know I don't want to go against the guy that I'm going to beat every single time I want to go against a guy who's going to make me work hard as hell like when I'm in my two-point and I know it's third and long or fourth down in practice I know I'm about to get his best rush so I really got to like tense up get in my tomb he's like he's over there like he's eyeing you up he's looking at the quarterback he's thinking he's just going to run right through you and you know there's been me and him go back and forth but there was a couple plays where he cooked me and that was good because like I said in practice is type like that's the place you want to work things you want to get be in practice so you know what you have to improve on so once you get to the game it doesn't happen again but Burns of the dog and I think everyone will see that I don't think I've ever heard an offensive linemen love on guys like on on edge rushers like you do like you you are given all the love to Crosby you like Burns OC the whole Jersey thing like what is this I just me personally I just I love this game so much but I also love how certain people approach the and how they really truly change the game and Max and burns are two of those people I think can truly change the game especially Max and like I said I love going against these guys like there may be certain tackles or certain guards certain centers where they don't love going against a certain person I love going against the best players possible it just that wakes me up in the morning and you know when I'm not going against the best player and it's a guy out there shoot you got to you got to perform the same way but going against those guys who have those names and who the NFL follows like crazy and they H up and you know they do the Instagram or Twitter posts about them pregame like I love that so much like I want all the pressure AUST mon I mean you played with Miles with miles in college didn't you yeah exactly so you know it started for me back in college where I was going get smiles and then I get to the NFL I'm in Baltimore he's in Cleveland then just the way my career's gone I've always gone against an elite guy every single year multiple guys like the P series and with the Raiders I've gone against all the elite guys possible but I don't but I don't I don't know that you know what you're saying because you're what you're doing rather to Giants fans right now because you're saying miles Max like uh burns like if you're people are probably going to run through a wall thinking now they have Burns and he'll do that I love him as a player I love that you respect his game and you're comping him to these greats that you've gotten better against it's awesome 100% I think I've gotten this is me personally this has been my best training cap of my career it's really been the best offseason of my career like I said I feel like I had a fresh late when I got here yeah and to have Dave to have Joe to have K to have all these people truly believe in me and to tell me that you know they need me to help this team win that's been the coolest experience ever but then it also brings added pressure because now you know you have to go out there and perform and people are truly going to watch you but I'm one of the most confident people you'll ever meet and that confidence will be shown on Sundays but burns like I said Burns Max miles they're great players even greater people and I've been lucky enough to play with all three of them it's so interesting what I really have learned over this offseason I went to I was at your training camp I went to 20 training camps and when you sit with somebody like twoa and he finally got paid and it there's this thing of I belong I'm settled they believe in me now let's effing go and I think it's you know when you have these contract issues like what's going on with Jamar Chase or auk like it weighs on you it weighs on you like don't you want me don't you and I think that people maybe undervalue the S what a of belonging and feeling Chosen and feeling good can do to you as a player and you've been you've been all over the league but you also you played all over the line you were everywhere and then all of a sudden you get there you finally get to start you're solidified at right tackle why weren't we putting you at right tackle your whole career I think the thing with me is I wasn't ready for that responsibility and I wasn't ready to be that guy I had to really fight and for my way mentally and physically to the position I'm in right now and I'm still trying to call to the top I'm nowhere near where I want to be but I'm definitely on that track and every single day I got to remind myself you're not where you want to be you want to be even higher than this you want to be at the highest of the highs and every single day you got to come to work and prove that and for me playing multiple positions helped me big time because like I said I didn't do enough to stay in the league over my first five years of my career the only thing that kept me in the league was the fact that I was able to play multiple positions and not a lot of guys can do that and I took PR in that but that was really the only thing that kept me in the league not my work ethic not my confidence not my discipline not my determination the fact that I was able to play multiple positions and that got me to where I'm at now where I can truly play one position and truly make that position mine and elevate my game every single week you got that Brian Flores defense week one you got to protect your boy my boy the world internet thinks my boy um just I don't even want to talk about it I don't want to talk about it oh God I've seen it I know what you're talking about Germaine it's a girl can't win I can't I can't I'm trying to Hype up your boy um how I mean Daniel's a great looking guy I mean shoot is he keeping that beard I've been telling him to keep the beard like the beard your team beard I 100% my beard is not as good as his beard his beard is plumptious let's go with that how do you protect him how do you protect him this week go out there and do my job like and that's hard is said than done but this offensive line that I'm playing with I truly believe in every single guy out there at he one the best off TS in the league John like he's a up and coming left guard but he's a baller Schmidt a seconde guy but smart as hell GNA God think off everything he gets GV he was my St Right Guard last year playing next to him all year but he's one of the smartest guys I've ever played next to and he's a freaking dog and he's a baller and then me like like I said No One's Gonna Be more confident than me on Sunday and I I I know that everyone be watching the offensive line I understand the F tier but this training camp has been shuge for all of us and I believe in every single one of the guys that's going to step out there on Sunday against this defense and I'm really excited for it I believe in
