congratulations on season 2 which seems to revolve around the two of you which is kind of [Music] fascinating than change I'm wonder I mean the the two view play characters that I think people have been most intrigued by if we're actually going to do this sort of like going back to the beginning of the second age the two of you play an incredible integral role I'm wondering what this whole lore thing means to you guys how much do you come in to this entire project with sort of expectations or connections to the greater talken story it means like a huge amount to me I mean I spent so much time researching this time period you know you just have to go through of the Rings of power and the ACC calbath it's it's so vast and as you say this is the first Big Dot point of like the stories that you need to tell when you're talking telling talking about the second age so that made this season and making this season incredibly exciting I think because we um we know where it's going those of us that know the the legendar I'm know where it's going and know that um this story is a really thrilling one that kind of sets everything up for the age and then and then beyond into the third age and then the fourth age so it's a real privilege to have um been entrusted with being the uh The Gatekeepers of this particular story yeah it is the law of course it's it's it is of course it's absolutely vital to us and um and and the research that you do um you know I was obviously as soon as I found out who I was playing I know I didn't know the name before um and um when I heard who it was and looked looked him up I was I went wow this is was that guy my God it's him and then I looked at the fan art pictures I'm oh I'm not sure that's me but it's faan not you know so um exactly it's not it's not necessarily what's on the page but I think I think it's interesting because two of you have very different roles I mean in terms of performers we have I think a lot of people have expectations of what the sort of bad the overt Badd is and so here we have for lack of better word humanizing the BD on the other hand you have a character that as you said is only known as oh that's the guy that made might have done the ring so one of you has an almost unlimited potential to actually make the role their own the other one has incredible pressure to live up to Fan expectations I'm wondering if the two of you could talk about you know maybe what's good about that and what's not great about that in terms of as as performance I only see it and this is honest as a positive I find it like hugely rewarding because one you know you're working on something that people care about and that fans care about and people will watch and be interested in and you learn I think when you sign on something like this you learn to let go of other people's expectations and you can't please everyone so I think what I tried to bring to it was like a level of research that people couldn't question and then on top of that a commitment to telling the story in like the way that I was inspired to do so by that research um and that kind of influenced everything that I did on this and and it takes away the pressure of you're playing saon because ultimately where there on the day and I'm just standing opposite Charlie and we're just doing we're doing acting yeah and it's simple and and what is after all what is any adaptation but an interpretation of what that person that adapter has taken from the source material yeah you cannot Charlie's right you cannot please everybody all of the time i' I've read read a book that you know books that have been very um special to me then seen a movie and go that's not how I imagined it but that's the way it goes yeah that's that's the way adaptations work so and final thing before we wrap are you two of you finding that you're rolling your RS like after doing this I mean everything now you actually have heror are you is that happening all the time in regular you're at the grocery store and this is happening you can't say any of those words without doing it into us because we always have LEF the Spectre of leaf mcfur our dialect coach behind us telling us to roll those arms roll it but stuff off so I terrible anyway congrats guys it's it's really fun I mean obviously the season C certainly centers around the two of you in many uh ways so you're taking the pressure very well thank you so much for the chat and just enjoy the ride fans are going to enjoy it I think a lot than thank you very
