Aliyah Boston Speaks on Caitlin Clark Running The Offense! WE LIKE TO PLAY FAST!!!

on Sunday that was a pretty cool performance yeah we have a lot of confidence in ourselves I think just the way we play Just The Way We compete night in night out um we just know that no matter what like we're going to give it our all and I think when you see when we're able to play our game when we play fast when we get stops and we let that feel our offense I mean we're a whole different team what's your approach to the next four games as you make them first year yeah definitely to win to come out strong I think um just being able to have these games the next three at home um is going to be really important for us I think it's been a great home stand so far just make sure we come out we need to have some better starts um this especially that first quarter especially the third quarter um just making sure we're coming out we're competing did this team need a game like that for Sunday just that kind of a test this late in the season I think so but I also think that we could have prevented that a little bit more just the way that we came out the way that um we guard a little bit make sure we get a little bit more stops I me when you look at the box score and they took almost 15 to 20 more shots than us like when you play a great team um that's hard to come back from and so just make sure that we see that be able to clean clean that up for our next few games this team showing the ability to come back though it wasn't there maybe the first part of the Season how does that yeah definitely I mean you see it the first part of the season I mean when we were down we were down and it's just as simple as that but now you we're down we talk about what exactly we need to do whether that's clean up our offensive rebounds or clean up getting stops or making sure we're passing the ball more like that's stuff that we talk about we're able to clean that up see more I don't think people realize how young AB is I mean AB is literally blooming in front of our eyes AB was a tremendous mendous player tremendous player under Don as well we understand that she produced Don and and uh the Gamecocks they produce Ballers we all know that they produce real professional basketball players Aaliyah Boston when you look at her she is she is blooming in front of our eyes and I'm going to keep saying this she's in way better shape she's running the floor even listening to her talk she always has great interviews but you could just hear how confident she sounds in herself how confident she sounds in this team she believes in in this team she understands that there's mistakes and things that they needed to work on and she understands that they are striving in the right direction now I will say this I feel that Aaliyah boson Kelsey Mitchell um there's certain girls who probably don't get the exact Spotlight that Caitlyn Clark gets but I can guarantee you they have more fans now as an Indiana Fever than what they had before and what are they doing Aaliyah Boston Lexi Hall Kelsey Mitchell uh who else I mean I mean pretty much anybody who's contributing to this team the whole team in general you guys got fans now you guys are and and you guys are taking advantage of the opportunity you guys are going on producing you guys are are letting people you know letting people know that you guys could play so this is my point I keep trying to tell people people instead of worrying about hating on Caitlyn Clark when you play against Caitlyn Clark go ball out respectfully doesn't matter if you're on the other team man go ball out go go put the eyeballs on yourself go take the eyeballs in the stands and put them on you like arque did in the All-Star Game you know what I'm saying so I feel like AB she doesn't get the recognition sometimes that she deserves I'm going to be right here and I'm going to say it you know AB has grown right in front of our eyes I believe that she's going to be a tremendous player in this league she is already a tremendous player in this league I know her point guard Caitlyn Clark believes in her 100% I know the coach believes in her I know the organization believes in her because they were there there's been talks I read comments a lot of you guys don't think Aaliyah Boston is you know Elite and I'm not GNA say she's she's a agent Wilson she's uh she's any of that yet but she I think she's 23 I think Aaliyah Boston is I don't think she's older than 24 so you know give her a year another year or two I would like to see her stay with Caitlyn personally just to see how much she could develop in the next year and a half but I think we got to give her credit in what we've seen her do she just put up 30 points I mean her footwork her patience everything I I could just see the upside of her of her game I can see the ceiling and she's not even tapped it yet you get what I'm saying I feel like she's just barely blooming like we're barely putting the water on so I think Aaliyah Boston man this is this is a future like super star in the league so I just want people to understand you know we don't cover her all the time we don't mention her all the time but I think she needs to start getting recognition along with Kelsey Mitchell you know Lexi Hall you know these girls are a big part of the success for the Indiana Fever along with Caitlyn Clark and that's just the truth now when we at Iowa basketball we look at Kate Martin we're looking at some of these girls Marshall uh uh stalky uh cisano we're looking at these girls are they Caitlyn Clark's no but those are that's the pepperoni the cheese the sauce to the dough you know how the dough is the big that's Caitlyn Clark now you put the toppings on top of that pizza you put that thing in the oven man I'm trying to tell tell you guys this team right here they got I'm not going to say they got it all but guess what Caitlin Clark has never had it all she never went to the big LSU she never went to the Yukon she never went to the BigTime school she made she did what she can with what she's dealt with and I don't think I think this team can shock people they've already shocked people bro no matter what happens for the rest of the season they already won I don't think people understand that they won already they had a great season they've they surpassed all expectations for the Indiana Fever that's what people don't understand and you understand and I'm going to put something out there the reason it's not like how I just said it like it's not explained that way is because we're looking at this team already like this team is a contender this team could win a play they could go out and beat a playoff team because they've beaten all the top five teams in the league this is a top five team in the league to me if they play the right type of basketball this is a top five team in the league to me and nobody would have thought that so what I'm trying to say is give them about two to three years how they did at Iowa man come on bro th this team is going to be a problem so I know I know I just rant it off but let's let's continue with the interview my bad your game offensively as seem the last couple weeks what have you been feeling here in this just seems to open it up I mean I'm just taking what the defense gives me just making sure I'm dominating each and every time even that doesn't mean taking a shot but just making the right pass I think I'm just trying to make sure that I'm just very aware of what I have to do on the court com and run this offense it seem the passing has become Contagious on the ball just moves everywhere every five on yeah I mean when the pace that we play at I think that's a big reason why I mean we're playing fast so making sure that we find the next person open and making that one more I think even in practice we work on one more making that extra pass good to great and so we do that in games and we get wide open shots in what ways has all this this run of home games been helpful for you guys right now it's been great just to fuel us I mean if we were on the road down 16 we would not be hearing the crowd cheer us back into this um and so for us is just making sure that we one give our fans a great show we're competing and then we know that we have one more game that's going to be on the road and we just have to be prepared for that talked a lot about the faili of this group considering the start guys then so where do you feel that res come from I guess collectively or even just individually I mean big part of that came from the beginning of the Season like coming into the locker room being one in8 um starting the season way we did like our our mindset was always we never stay down even if we get knocked down we never stay down and I think even in games you're able to see that us Turn the Page us play our type of basketball and it we just Flo last year you guys struggled so much in close games what's been important in flipping that this year um execution especially not fourth quarter I even think some games this season we've had that we kind of just gave it away in that fourth quarter and just being able to grow from that I understand that execution is a big part especially when you're going up against Great teams making sure you can execute because when they come down on the other end that's their goal as well is there a confidence element to that you get to under your belt okay we can do this yeah and I think just having the team that we have around us I mean everyone feels confident to take that shot because we know that they're going to make it they're going to uh we trust each other to make that shot and I think that's a big part of it as well more Pace with this team is there said to BR is too fast you have to kind of find a sweet spot I mean maybe sometimes as long as we're taking care of the ball if we're not taking care of obviously we know we might have to slow it down a little bit but I mean we like to play fast and sometimes yes stuff happens without whether a turnover but we know that's the pace we like to play at and I think just our progress throughout this whole season we've seen that that playing as fast as we do works for us last exactly as you can hear it again they want to play at a fast pace and what did I just explain when you play at a fast pace turnovers will happen but nine times not nine times at 10 but more good things should happen because they understand the pace that they play at is a pace that most teams they can't function it if you look at a lot of these passes Caitlin Clark dude the defense is lost out there lost they're not even they're jogging back you understand that these girls were not used to playing at a fast pace they want to jog up and down the court they're lazy they've been floating floating by Caitlin Clark has put that sh put that pressure on them straight up put that pressure on them I'm not going to say don't play hard but dude when you have a point guard like Alonzo ball lamelo ball and they get the ball out that fast I'm talking about bro that is ridiculous it is hard to stop so I'm glad Aaliyah Boston is giving another recognition and letting it be know we like to play fast that is our style of Game season you you guys broke the home attendance record so for somebody that didn't watch last season and only started watching this season what's been the difference playing in this building from last year to now this year I think just the continued um just crowd that we have I mean they come no matter what time the game is early game late game I mean they're there and I think that's great um for us because we use that energy we feel for that and it's always great to have those fans in the crowd did your team that your point guard wants to run a fast-paced offense so Aaliyah Boston you know Class Act just being a real Pro answering questions with with um high high high level of speaking you know this is what we want to see too out of a out of a d out of a business a WNBA business that they're trying to grow you have to be able to have media co uh coverage like this you can't have oh I don't want to talk about this dude they're there to ask you questions this is their job how do you think the money's going to flow you guys got to be able to answer these questions so I'm watching other interviews and I'm like dude I can't even put that out because you guys are the attitude is so not everyone not everyone but there's sometimes where I'm like dude you guys never done media covers before so yeah man I I just love where AB is going I love where her career is going I love how she's blooming as a as a wonderful player in this league I love her connection with with Caitlyn Clark I love how she's dominating as well she's got that mentality to dominate down low and I've been hearing that she wants to dominate so she went out and she dominated she had a 30 piece and I can and I I could see her
