Minnesota Golden Gophers 2020 Football Schedule Breakdown

hello everybody and welcome to the video my gel name is college football frenzy and today on be breaking down the Minnesota Golden Gophers 2020 football schedule Minnesota had a great season last year winning the Outback Bowl finishing 11 in two and getting big wins against Auburn and Penn State it was overall just a great season for the Golden Gophers won really nobody started coming you know they had an easy schedule but I don't think anybody predicted that Minnesota would being the hunt to make a Big Ten title like they were last year they came up short of making the big 10 championship but nearly nearly made it if it wasn't for a loss to Iowa and a close one they would have made the big 10 championship and if they hadn't laid an egg against Wisconsin they would have made they just had two bad losses that unfortunately cost them a spot in that championship game but overall it was a great season for the Golden Gophers there in the playoff hunt the Big Ten championship race you know there's a lot to look forward to looking at the roster for this upcoming season you know they're not losing much talent Tanner Morgan a quarterback he's gonna be back you look at Rashad abatement the wide receiver car he's gonna be back you have a lot of talent on offense and you've got a great head coach in pj fleck so they should be very good just as good as they were last year looking at their schedule I don't think it's as easy as their last year's schedule was last year schedule was very easy this one's a little bit tougher but still it's a favorable schedule number one floor in Atlantic they just lost Lane Kiffin that head coach gonna have a new head coach for the first game of season I think they'll be rusty I understand they won the Conference USA title last year but you know without kiffin I'm expecting them to be worse I'm gonna take Minnesota here to Tennessee Tech shouldn't be a problem three Iowa so Iowa you know looking at their team they beat Minnesota last year it was a one possession game a very close game but a lot of things have changed since then first off it's at Minnesota it's not gonna be a November game in Kinnick Stadium playing in November at Kinnick it's a very tough environment to play in but this is early on the season in September and you're playing against Iowa who's lost a lot of key pieces in my I think I was lost a ton of key pieces most nobly ajs Vanessa but also Tristan wharfs and veteran quarterback Nate Stanley losing all those guys is gonna hurt I think Minnesota's just as just has as much talent so I'm taking me a soda to win this game for BYU they really shouldn't be a a real challenge for Minnesota they're okay no I think special in my opinion you know could be a trap game but missile missile should win so I'm taking the Golden Gophers here five at Maryland possibly the easiest game on schedule you know it's in a way game but still that's an easy game six hours concen all right this is a tough game I'm gonna take the Badgers tolling this one listen the Badgers don't have great offense I'll say that and the Gophers definitely do but the Badgers have arguably a top-five defense in the nation possibly the best defense in all of the Big Ten you know I understand losing their best player John if the Jonathan Taylor hurts but still their defense is great in in Camp Randall in October gonna be tough for Minnesota I think it's closer than it was last year but just it's a tough environment to play in Wisconsin still is a great defense I think they'll be able to shut down Minnesota so I'm taking the Badgers here seven Michigan could be a gameday location I have gameday going here actually Michigan's gonna be pretty good next year you look at the talent they're losing a lot but they're also they also have a pretty good recruiting class and they have a lot of talent returning as well and they should have Joe Milton at quarterback and he's pretty good it's a home game for Minnesota I think they're gonna get a big one here possibly the biggest one of the season and beat Michigan the close in a close one I think Michigan's undefeated coming into this game so it's gonna be a very hyped up environment it'll be big to get a win against an undefeated Michigan team my opinion so this will really help the Gophers and their spirit the rest of the season you know I don't think Harbaugh you know he just I feel like this this is the type of game you would expect him to slip up and on the road at a tough school these are where he usually slips up and so I'm taking the Golden Gophers here overall they're often sinned my opinion can be justice you can argue as just as Talent as Michigan's offense so I'm taking Minnesota II out at Illinois Illinois is definitely improving I like what they're doing they're definitely gonna be better than the next few years I don't think they're at that point yet though where they're as good as teams like Minnesota Ohio State Wisconsin Iowa Penn State they're not that level yet it's an away game might be a tough place to play but I think Minnesota gets it done in a close one at miss a Michigan State Michigan State's in turmoil losing you know Mark Dantonio they're not really very talented new head coach you know there's a lot of drama there with other stuff off the field issues it's just right now not going well for Michigan State I'll take the Gophers here I think they're a better football team 10 Purdue Purdue's another team like Illinois that's improving but I don't see Purdue going going into Minnesota and pulling off the upset Minnesota's just by far more talented 11 by week good time to have your bye week towards the end the season 12 Northwestern they're gonna improve but still shouldn't be a problem for Minnesota 13 at Nebraska this is where I possibly worry for the Golden Gophers you know Nebraska is definitely going to improve next year they have to I mean you have a great head coach and a great recruiting class and great talent so you shouldn't be going 5 and 7 so I expect them to improve a little but it's an away game at a very tough place to play Memorial Stadium is not an easy place to play at they sell out quite a lot and their fans are very crazy so it's gonna be a tough game my opinion for Minnesota I think I'll be close I would favor Minnesota but Nebraska definitely could win so for all I have them going tennant to the definite loss is at Wisconsin and they could possibly lose I would say to a team like Illinois or Nebraska that would be where I push 2nd loss that maybe they lose to Michigan but I haven't met attendant to right now I think they have a great offense a great coaching staff ok defense and their schedule in my opinion is very favorable nice to get the buy towards the in the season they really don't have a very tough stretch even those four out of five away games that stretch is not extremely bad I mean Maryland Michigan in Illinois mix into that stretch you might lose two of those but still it's not that bad of a stretch so overall I have the Gophers at 10 and 2 I think that's pretty good same as last year do I think it'll be enough to get them to the Big Ten championship I actually don't because I think Wisconsin's gonna have two Big Ten losses I think they're gonna have a third loss out of conference but because I have Wisconsin being Minnesota I've been getting the tiebreaker and going to the Big Ten championship game again that just my thoughts on it but still it will be another great season for the Golden Gophers probably a berth in the Outback
