it is a new era of wheel welcome yes thank you goodness gracious how has it been so far we have to ask the boss here I have to ask man okay boss it's been good it's been smooth okay he's doing great so he's not going anywhere nope [Applause] no's 8, we will be right back after this how would you describe this new in three words fun exciting and Ryan and Ryan I guess I mean that's that's new this is such an important show to everybody right I mean we're talking about watching it I watch it all my life Vanna you feel like you know her if you've never met her before and it was the same with Pat and they created this incredible remarkable relationship with viewers and my job is just to keep that relationship and and make the show fun and exciting and all the things that it is what was it like the first day stepping on set for you were you a little boy going to the first day of school you know sometimes I leave my own head while I'm hosting and still like can't believe all of it cuz it's like you're I'm I'm watching the show but wait I have to speak and say we'll be right back if they play both roles but yes this is such a significant thing it's it's meant so much to to me I grew up in Atlanta we would turn it on every night when the family was together and that's what Vanna loves too we talked about this it's such a family show MH half hour family fun and you welcome us and to the family every time we want to come here we appreciate it Vana how has it been you two have such an incredible chemistry I know sometimes that can't be easy but how has it been getting to know him and welcome him into this family well we've known each other for about 20 years so he's he's so easy he's so easy and he's fine and I'm low maintenance that's what she saying I heard it right there I heard that I love that see the family Dynamic but it's true because we have known each other a long time we we know who we are we we know where we live like I know where her house is I know what she gives out on Halloween did she invite you for dinner we have had many dinners we generally she no I tell you what we generally go out for dinner but she has invited me over for breakfast okay that's my that's her specialty I'm not a great cook but breakfast she can do it yeah now of course Pat was a part of this show for 40 years you think you got 40 in yet I'd love to do 40 yes if if we can still be on there for 40 years I'm I'm committed to this for as long as they'll have me but that's the thing about this show is y'all continue to bring freshness season after season what are we going to see this season how obviously we have a fresh face but what else how are you upping the anti this is a new set I mean it's it's a big set and it's got a lot more lights and electronics the the board is pretty much the same pretty much the same yes I this has to be exactly the same I guess the technolog is evolved over the years yes it has it used to be physically turning letters now it's a it's a laser that just from a movement will light up the letter but it has to be my my movement only you have the magic W right it won't work for me what about the wardrobe is it true that you have never worn a gown twice only one time in over 8,000 gowns did I wear one twice upset she is about it still I know right no I am I can't believe it happened but you know it it but no i' I've worn that many gowns over 8,000 gowns how many do you have at home that they've let you keep none none come on that's they let me borrow them so where where would I put all those things all those dresses you to borrow absolutely so I haven't bought a cocktail dress in 40 years which is very ni thank you designers thank you you want to show you around a little bit yes please do you mentioned there are changes the set is well puzzle board here pretty much the same this uh entrance I me van will tell you this is new it is new this is where we come through instead of coming behind the puzzle board we come out of this it it opens up and we come walking through and before we come out we're talking about whatever we did last night or is there anything in my teeth or you know there's all that stuff you do before you walk out things check my breath all that kind of stuff and then we walk out and we go our separate ways but let's take you to the wheel super Co I this is where the magic happens yeah step step be careful everybody on the steps step all right yes am I doing it right already so yeah there's steps here which is interesting these are these are different levels depending on the contestant's height so they go up and down I'm short can you raise it I don't have the power but no didn't work um all right so what do you think of the wheel uh I don't want this I don't want to be banked but this is intimidating give give it a SP is it as heavy as I think it is so yeah remember it's heavier than so it's like go go out grab out and then give it and I'm yeah give it some momentum yeah I feel like that was weak no I did about the same honestly the first time uh 700 700 I'll take it would you like would you like a letter do I get uh sure e there is one e what about a t you have to buy
