[Applause] welcome everyone Brad nestler here for EA Sports with my co-host Kirk herb Street and the coach Lee Corso it's time to bundle up because it's going to be a chilly one for tonight's game between the LSU Tigers and the Buckeyes of Ohio State Ohio State is going to attack this defense in the air and I'll tell you this is the key to the game if their quarterback has time to throw he'll have a huge game today against that vulnerable second I got to have to go with them too there's no way the buck guys lose they'll take over at the 20 yd line six DBS in the lineup they'll run the option A little Juke he tries to spin there's a Miss tackle at the 40 pass some daylight at the 40 at the 30 to the 20 to the 10 go goodbye the halfback got the carry and weave through that defense for a score he poun some daylight and took off for six and he TS on the extra point with less than four minutes to go in the first the score LSU seven Ohio State [Music] [Applause] nothing and it looks like they're ready for the [Applause] kickoff kicks it deep Henderson Fields it in the end zone and now we'll see the offense come out on of the field for their next possession we've got an exciting game on our hands today and a crucial part of this game is going to be the matchup between the right end and the left tackle this right defensive end is a monster out there and blocking him is not going to be easy you got that right this defensive end is a quarterback's worst nightmare look out he's going be causing chaos in the back field all day long second down and five ball on the 30 30 yd line Ohio state lines up in a shotgun set drops back the pass throws it to the outside and they couldn't hook up on that one he had his wide out but he couldn't hit him when he misses it's usually high and that's something he's been working very hard with his coach on Third and five coming up ball on their own 30 30 yd Ohio State comes out in the shotgun back to pass steps up looking throws it deep downfield that is ball and it falls incomplete so they go three and out after that incompletion on the play fourth and five ball on the 30 yd line Ohio State ready to put this one aways back to return number 29 gets it off Collins feels it at the 27 this is where I went for the defense to clamp down after some sloppy tackling the last time they let this offense run all over them all the way to the end zone and I don't see that happening again they'll set up shot at the 28 yd line the tiger line up with three receivers bunched they'll throw on first down looks wants to throw outside and it's caught tackled the defense looked a little lost on that one yeah they did Brad nice recognition here by the quarterback to see that confusion and then take advantage of it as you can see they have really had some difficulty getting the ball down the field you got that right Brad these guys have better step it up and execute when they have the ball or else it's going to be a long day Daniel options out now he pitches it spins up field and he's taken down good yardage and a first down yeah Brad the tailback took the pitch and picked up a few yards there on the option [Applause] it's first and 10 ball on their own 43 Daniel back in the gun they snap it to the back he Jukes him there he goes brought down and the halfback ripped off a nice gain there to get him the first hey this kid's a goodlook back let's see if they go to him again first and 10 ball on the 42 yd line Daniel with four wide receivers he drops back throws down the middle got it to his receiver nice decision by the quarterback Not only was it good decision making but the offensive line protected just long enough for him to find his Target and when you combine the two it'll be a first down nine out of 10 time LSU in a four wide set drops back to pass steps up in the pocket he'll dump this one off complete he's gobbled up in the back field loss of three it's second down now and 13 to go and this is the sixth play of the drive they line up in the shot gun inside hand off and he's tackled a 5yd pickup for the tail back 5yd gain on [Applause] the third and eight ball on the 30 they'll work from the shotgun they'll throw again defense hasn't stopped him yet short to and it's caught the receiver did come down with the ball but he'll be short of the first down yeah I just can't figure out why you'd run that play on third [Applause] down lines up hoping to extend the lead and make it a two-score game he gets it up and it splits the upright that score leads us to our Pontiac Drive summary ready to kick for the kick number 11 back deep to return kicks it off so the offense takes over and the last time they had the ball they had a tough time getting anything going they'll start this drive at the 25 25 yd line three wide outs to the left side stra drops back on first down he's got an opening Fields lays it on him they just took what the defense gave them on that play yeah you're right that was a good job of getting that pass completed for positive [Applause] yardage second and three coming up ball on the 32 yd line 2 yd line trips left they'll give it off here they'll bring him down pick up of a yard for the tail back one yd gain on the play Third and two ball on the 33 yd line 33 yd line the Buckey come to the line with their jumbo package they'll keep it on the ground again field with a taked down that'll be good enough to move the sticks great run and now we've got a new set of [Applause] down it's first and 10 ball on the 36 Ohio state lines up in a bunch [Applause] formation brought down Fleming on the run three yd gain on the play second and seven coming up here ball on the 39 yd the Buckey come out in the Ace formation lets it go the ball is tipped the defender could only get a hand on it a hand on it if this kid wants to be a big time playmaker he better start getting two hands on it yeah Le that ball should have been picked off there thir so another third down upcoming for the offense the Buckeye with four receivers he steps up he's looking over the middle got it to his receiver first and 10 and this is the seventh play of the current Drive Ohio State comes out in the shotgun St set to go to the air looking throws and it's the senior W brings him down now that was a goodlooking play the quarterback put it where his receiver could get it and now now they have a first down what I like is the faith that this quarterback has in his receiver he's not afraid to throw it down [Applause] field two minutes to go in the half six DBS in the lineup steps up he's going right it's tip incomplete that pass Falls incomplete In The End Zone talk that one up to the pressure of quarterback's face absolutely they had a tremendous Rush coming in in and him it was all he could do to avoid the sack on the 12 and they can smell the goal line this is the kind of running back who can make you pay when he's in the zone back to Pat he tosses it short complete Newton with a Tak down maybe got two feet on the play one y gain on the play so far this drive the defense has been unable to stop them on third down Ohio State sets up with four receivers throws it to the outside touchdown Ohio State the pass was caught by the halfback and they'll put up a six spot well I think he brings so much to this team he's got passion for the football and that's an intangible that gives him the edge and he TS on the extra point here's the drive summary brought to you by ponti [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Ohio State ready to kick this one off Thomas back deep to return nice kick plenty of distance colins Fields it in the end zone just about ready to call a first play of this drive they were able to pick up a field goal on their last possession they'll get the ball here at the 25 yd line first Daniel has four receivers lined up here they'll throw on first down looks Jackson comes away with a sack LSU takes a time out second and long ball on the 15 yd line Daniel with four wide receivers he drops back he'll dump this one off and it's caught he's hit and got away big opening little shake and bake move and down he goes he appears to have been injured on the [Applause] play it's third down and two to go ball on their own 33 single set back field setting up the play action he lets it go deep down the middle he got it he goes down the offense calls a timeout that was their second timeout first and 10 ball on the 25 the defense will stack the line of scrimmage back to pass steps up in the pocket wants to throw outside complete knocked out of bounds he ran a good route there and was able to pick up yards underneath the coverage it's okay to move the ball in small portions because it relaxes the offense and can open things up for the big [Applause] play it's second down and five to go ball in the 20 LSU in a four wide set LSU sets up with four receivers defense looking for his first incompletion this drive five he's going to go for the home run the wide receiver flew down the field on that touchdown connection but he has the speed to stretch the defense and his hands are getting better every single [Applause] game and he hits the pat time to take a look at the drive summary it's brought to you by Pontiac fuel for the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] soul everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff LSU is lined up with kick off here's the kick Henderson Fields it in the end zone not a lot of trouble score in the last time they had the ball let's see if that passing game does the trick again they'll go to work at the 25 yd line the 25 yd line Ohio State comes to the line only one man in the back field he drops back wants to throw outside incomplete patch and he overthrew his wide receiver I don't know too many sever foot guys played football so maybe he should aim lower the next time second and 10 ball on their own 25 25 yd Ohio State sets up with more receivers throws it to the outside and it's caught field brings him down Ohio State calls a timeout it's first and 10 ball on the 36 the Buckey line up with three receivers bunched St to the air on first down Davis with the interception and that turnover has got to hurt yeah they wanted to rack up some points before they have to help Morell sorry it didn't work first and 10 ball on the 42 yd line 42 yd first and 10 Daniel is back in the gun Daniel steps back to P throws this one out to the right I know it's incomplete but still You' got to be impressed with the zip that he put on that one he did have some heat on it that's for sure it's second down and 10 to go ball on the 42 they come out in a nickel Daniels has four receivers lined up here drops back to pass he steps up he's looking throws it to the outside and that one's Fallen incomplete and that one will go down as an incompletion it's too bad because the wide receiver made a super effort to catch that pass yeah coach he's got the ability to come up with that Circus catch I want that kid on my team third and 10 ball on the 42 yd [Applause] line Daniel with four wide receivers Daniel drops back to pass looking here they come deep pass down the left side and it falls incomplete too tall for his intended target and that should have been six yep he had his man wide open but his arm didn't do what his brain told him to do the special teams coach sends his punt team out on the field planning a hang time on this one Branson signals for a fair catch they'll down the punt at the 9 yd line so before the offense hits the field let's take the time to let you know that our game is brought to you by EA Sports they'll set up shot at the nine St is back in the gun on the ground right side tries to Juke Davis with a taked down I hope you didn't blink because the fastest running back we've seen all year just kept the drive alive with a big first down fastest running back we've seen all year is a bold statement but you know what Brad it's probably true first and 10 ball on the 21 yd line and that'll do it for the first half of play our halftime score LSU 17 Ohio State seven we're ready to start the second half as the teams are lined up for the kickoff number 11 nice kick plenty of distance Henderson Fields it in the end zone juke move and now we'll see the offense come out on of the field for their next possession I know the game's only halfway over but I'm kind of surprised that this right end hasn't recorded a sack yet one guy who's not complaining is that quarterback that's for sure we thought this right end would have a couple sacks and a half dozen hurri by now he's their impact player but he's yet to make an impact play in this game he can scoop the 50 at the 40 at the 30 to the 20 to the 10 goodbye the wide out made a great catch for the score actually I'm even more impressed with the throw he hung in there and delivered a beautiful ball and he TS on the extra point so with less than four minutes to go in the third quarter the score is LSU 17 Ohio State 14 [Music] looks like they're ready for the kick kick Collins back to return and he got all of this one great kick Thomas Fields it in the end zone time once again for this offense to come back out and start another Drive they'll take over at the 25 start the drive at the 25 ydd first the tiger come out in the Ace formation Daniels running the option he has some room and he's tackled he kept it himself and picked up a good looking first down another reason why I love the option just when you think he's going to pitch it he cuts up the field and keeps the ball himself no question coach great execution and a good decision there by the quarterback it's first and 10 ball on the 47 yd line they come out in a nickel waits till the last moment it's deflected oh he had the pick and he dropped it he just couldn't find the handle that poor kid looked like he was trying to catch a greased Pig easy scooter at least he kept the receiver from making the play it's second down and 10 to go ball on the 47 the Tigers line up with four wide outs looks and he's hit as he throws the ball is tipped picks it off it's on the ground and they make the Stop and they recover their own fumble I'm going to tell you something this guy has got to do a better job of protecting the football the next time he gets it first and 10 ball on the 38 yd line the tiger come out in the Ace formation to on the hand off he Jes Williams brings him down four yd gain by the back gain on the it's second down and six to go ball on the 34 yard line Daniel with three wide receivers setting up the play action he's looking deep down the left side he caught it touchdown look at that for a second there I could have scored that back end of football beautiful play yeah I don't know if it was the offensive coordinator the head coach or just the quarterback checking off but my hand cles off to whoever called that play and he hits the pat that score leads us to our Pontiac Drive summary [Applause] [Music] everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff number 11 we should have a return on this one number 11 Fields it at the one what to look for in this drives to see how often the defense changes up its coverages they didn't defend the pass very well that last Drive it's going to be interesting to see if they play them differently here they'll start this drive at the 21 yd line first and 10 St lines up in the shotgun they'll throw on first down throws this one out to the left they'll get six yards gain of six on the play second and four coming up here B on their own 27 St is back in the gun St back to pass throws it to the outside what concentration at the 40 at the 30 to the 20 to the 10 goodbye that was his third touchdown of the day well the quarterback's going to get a lot of credit but I think the thing that has helped him the most back there is the protection by the offensive line he has had plenty of time to make decisions back there in the pocket and those decisions he's been making out the right ones too my friend and he TS on the extra point time to take a look at the drive summary it's brought to you by Pontiac fuel for the soul [Music] [Music] everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff Collins back deep to return kicks it deep Collins feels it in the end zone thanks to some nice passing on the last Drive the offense was able to take it down the field for six and great play calling to help make that an easy Drive the question is can they do it again LSU in a four wide set Daniel drops back on first down throws this one out to the left brought down I like the defense that was called they just didn't make the play on the ball ball you're right it wasn't necessarily bad defense the offense just executed and the result is a first [Applause] down it's first and 10 ball on their own 39 39 yd line LSU lines up in a bunch formation there's a play fake throws complete Turner with a taked down that play fake good for five yds 5yd gain on the play [Applause] second and five coming up here ball on the 44 yd line the tiger come out in the shotgun gets the ball no they faked it incomplete and he overthrew his wide receiver I don't know too many Sate foot guys played football so maybe he should aim low the next time it's third down and five to go ball in their own 44 the tiger line up with three receivers bunched Daniel on the option Hancock brings him down and he gets the first down that guy just went pow and took it in he wasn't stopping till he got that first and 10 first and 10 this is the fifth play of this Drive Daniels has four receivers lined up here they'll throw on first down he's looking he Zips it out to the left got it to his receiver way to look it in nice catch sure was he displayed some great hands there now we're looking at a first down it's first and 10 and this is the sixth play of the drive the tiger with four receivers they'll throw on first down throws it to the outside and it's caught they just took what the defense gave them on that play yeah you're right that was a good job of getting that pass completed for positive yardage second and four coming up here this is a seventh play of this drive they line up with trips to the left Daniels drops to throw steps up throws this one out to the left excellent job of getting a hand in there to break up the pass it was coach that one had reception written all over it but the defender stepped up and made the play the offense faces another third down as they line it up they'll work from the [Applause] shotgun got some open field makes a move Johnson with a Tak down I think this offensive line is getting better and better as the game goes along and Coach I'll tell you what I think they're killing the will of this defense and I don't think they're done just yet and we take a quick look at the stats from within the Red Zone brought to you by Old Spice Red Zone when performance matters the most LSU goes with the ace set here Daniel on the option right a little Juke touchdown LSU what a spectacular run by the quarterback that is such a weapon for your offense when you have a quarterback who can do things like that the coach probably loves throwing up plays for this guy and he hits the Pat and now let's take a look at the drive summary brought to you by Pontiac [Music] [Applause] [Music] everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff kick Anderson kicks it off number 11 Fields it in the end zone they're ready to start another Drive hoping to duplicate the result to the last one which ended in a touchdown they'll get the ball here at the 25 first and 10 the Buckey come out in the shotgun St drops back on first down once and all and he's got it Ward brings him down and with that catch he goes over 100 yds receiving for the game Henderson wants the ball we'll see if they give it to [Applause] him so it's second and 10 ball in the 29 29 yd line Ohio State sets up with four receivers comes across the middle and he's tackled short pass there and they get a moderate game there's nothing wrong with ni and Diamond him down the field we've got third and three here ball on the 22 yd line and this defensive end is looking to get into that back field got hit as he Dres heads up play to bat it down yeah and if you can't get to the quarterback or intercept the pass the next best thing is to get a hand up the Buckeye line up with three receivers bunched he drops back steps up in the pocket looking throws this one out to the left got it tackle and with that last completion he now has 300 yds through the air now this quarter back has had a solid game he's done what's been asked of him and then [Music] some and since we're in the Red Zone let's have a look at the numbers brought to you by Old Spice Red Zone when performance matters the most single set back field to the end zone batted ball the corner comes up with a nice play defending his own end zone I'm not so sure he couldn't have come away with that interception that time good play but I think he's kicking himself for not catching that football the Buckeye come out in the Ace formation back to Pat goes to the end zone it's tipped you got to be careful throwing in the cover like that well coach I don't think it was a PO incision was just a great reaction by the man in cover St lines up in the shotgun St drops back he steps up looks to The End Zone it falls incomplete ining the intended receiver on the important field goal coming up they'll be within a touchdown if they can make this it's up and it's through the uprights this drive summary is brought to you by PAC [Applause] [Music] Ohio state is ready to kick it away Thomas and cin set to return here goes [Applause] nothing the onside doesn't bounce their way but you know give these kids some credit they fought hard all the way down to the wire wow what a great football game we've been very lucky you see such a hardfought battle they'll go to work at the 43 they'll work from the shotgun on the ground with a tail back break one and they make the stop Ohio State takes a [Music] timeout it's second down and seven to go ball on the 40 yd line LSU comes out of the shotgun they keep it on the ground with a tail back and he's taken down Ohio State calls a timeout and they'll have one timeout [Applause] [Music] left first and 10 ball on the 28 yd line the Tigers line up with four wide out Eon Ransom with a taked down 6yd pickup gain of six on the play second and four coming up here ball in the 22 yd line the tiger line up in a goal line formation they'll go with a pullback ransom brings him down Ohio State takes a time out [Music] [Music] the pressure turns up when in the red zone and that's when you turn to Old Spice Red Zone when performance matters the most we should just see the quarterback take a knee right here winding down the rest of this clock there's the kneel down by the quarterback second down and 12 ball on the 13 the Tigers come to the line with their jumbo packing Colin gets another carry little shake and bake move touchdown LSU a powerful one by the halfback to reach perer yeah he's hot keep giving him the Rock [Applause] and he TS on the extra point this drive summary is brought to you from our good friends at Pontiac [Applause] [Applause] Todd ready to kick kicks it deep number 11 Fields it in the end zone a scoring Drive the last timeout for this offense and they'll huddle up for this drive they'll take over at the 25 25 yd L first and 10 they come out with three wide receivers Dro back to back he's under some heat under Relentless pressure the quarterback goes down for the sacks those guys on defense are just pinning their ears back right now coming in as fast as they can well in that case the offense needs to sneak in a screen pass at a half back let him get behind it rushing then take off behind his blockers for six and that's the end of the game Burk what' you think of this one you know I think it was a well played game for the most part Ohio state had a few missed opportunities in this game I think if they could have capitalized on a few of them would have been a lot closer and they might even have won this game folks thanks for tuning in to our game our final score LSU 38 Ohio State 24 this is Brad nestler for Lee Coro and kirb Street saying so long
