Orioles drop WILD series opener to Astros, spoil PERFECT game by Adley Rutschman

[Music] a [Music] Yankees lose that's what what's what we're here to talk about right welcome into the uh Ry nio postgame prom I am Kevin a striker we're not here to talk about well we will talk about the Yankees but of course we're here to talk about the Orioles I don't know what I just watched I'm sure everybody listening and watching does not know what they just watched either The Orioles lose 14- 11 or should I say the r lose to the Texans 14 to 11 look like a football score over there so uh what what a game we got nine runs scored in an inning seven runs scored in an inning absolute craziness I mean look you count this team out they climb right back in it so we have a lot to dive into including by the way a couple of pieces of potential Ryan Ripkin show history here with me is the man the M the legend himself Mr Brad Smith Brad how you doing what's up good what's good evening good Lord it is uh it's actually good morning now and I'll bring Ryan in as well what's up brother we are eight away from 10,000 subscribers my friend we are um how's this lighting I actually was figuring out in the car how to make this work it's not bad yeah not bad at all you know what you do a little fun fact here for the for the crowd you just actually used the uh the light from your your mirror on the driver's side again not driving just in the car a little bit more privacy and having a good time but had to hop on here I know everyone's upset or maybe feeling some type of way about this game and and sometimes you just have a game where you're like I don't know what to really make of all this it's a great moment good and all of a sudden whammy uh I tell you this if you're a hitter you feel pretty good if you get a hit in this game but overall just wasn't wasn't a great day for the birds but um personally here because this is what Brad was alluding to uh we are close to a milestone that honestly uh might be to some uh might not seem like it's a big thing but for us for how much time and effort we put in the channel is close to 10,000 subscribers away there so we're five away from it um this is just a small stepping stone of where we want to go but we want to acknowledge because I mean damn we're not here without the community um and we greatly appreciate each and every one of you for being a part of this journey with us as we continue our coverage uh through the Baltimore Sports region the Maryland region and as we continue to expand into other Ventures as we go we love you guys except maybe Zach and know Zach I love you down there you're a good kid how you doing I I mean I don't know what else to say about this team they just never quit they never quit but yeah four away now four away so excited that's all I can say yeah uh 10 shots right now hey about the Astros and with Bloss starting for them um he was worried about facing the lineup well Bloss actually didn't do that bad against the O's but everyone else did on both yes boom wow screenshot it someone subscribes screenshot look at that oh my it happens every time every time but uh congrats congratulations boys that was it's a it's you know it's a it's a milestone for us it's it's you know might not mean a whole lot to some but certainly means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to you as well boys oh yeah I mean I mean look um and again what a positive here we're doing one up one down I know it's Kevin and Zach thing besides that the Orioles offense showed a lot of Life the one up for us is um reaching a number where we didn't even start this show uh a year ago like consistently speaking the show consistently started last September and we've been doing shows every single week consistently since September and and whammy there's 10,000 is people that enjoy what we do uh that makes 10,000 of you I don't know why but thank you for being a part of this community and that's what we're trying to build here so it's great I don't have the tequila in the car I will do another video when I get off this stream to give you guys my thoughts about how I feel about each and every one of you um but uh this is honestly also I know that the the show is yes I am Ryan Ripken the show is named after me um but this this is uh I'm not okay let me time out here what I'm trying to say is without sounding like an emotional guy which I do have my emotions I don't get here without this this team here you know um this is uh our this is our Collective Milestone and it's uh it's something that you celebrate the little things and this guys this is to you guys thank you to everyone for supporting and giving our group a platform and uh boys you guys have earned it and uh cheers to you and wherever the hell Rocco is but you know guys appreciate each and every one of you and everyone out there again if you guys would like and subscribe to add to that total we'd appreciate it or unsubscribe all good at the same time but thank you very much it's uh it it's it's an incredible milestone for us we're only working to build and I know I was the uh I'm the newest member of the team but to see everybody's work ethic in here has been I mean absolutely incredible you know we grind this out on a daily basis and we all have other things going on and you know we make a lot of time for this show and it's something we all enjoy we enjoy the grind we enjoy the little winds and the the big wins and everything and uh you know doesn't happen without you know these guys on the screen plus Rocco who is again I think ordering Taco Bell or something right now but uh doesn't happen without the community either which is you know 10,000 whether you were here for you know the very early stages when I obviously you know wasn't a part of the team when I joined with and the football season for the Ravens playoff run going throughout free agency start of the Oriol season if you've been here for raw potatoes and socks and all the other crazy shenanigans on this show Ryan getting mad at me for not knowing a single movie or song really appreciate the community for sticking with us and whether you were here at 10 subscribers or 10,000 I I know we all appreciate and I also want to give shout out here Nick becoming a new member so shout out to you Nick and then for 10,000 look at this guys Aviator 10 gifted memberships thatout out you Aviator appreciate you so this has been a fun Journey guys and I I can't wait to keep going with you yeah rip I was actually just looking to see when the official date was on our on Ryan Ripken Show episode one and it was June 29th of last year so yeah even with even with the first show it hasn't been a year no you know and honestly Brad that show too I remember like hey let's try this out and then we did it like once every two weeks you know uh so that's why the first show of doing it's the Milestone but the thing if there there's anything out there I don't try to I give advice whether people sometimes want to hear it or not and maybe it's just the own experiences but uh consistency is the main word I want to use here and and and I say we started that consistency in September where Brad and I made a packed initially like you know what no matter what we're going to go put our foot forward even if we think uh it's not worth it at the time I can't tell you how many days where I had a moment where I was either we're tired we're fatigued but hearing the community show up with us it gives the motivation right um and in life you're not going to be motivated to do everything but you got to keep showing up and this is not this is this again is a small thing but why I'm proud of this group is is that they continue to show up just like this community kept showing up to watch these streams to agree to disagree to think I'm a MC [ __ ] whatever it may be but you guys kept showing up and and that to me speaks volumes to the group we have here and that speaks volume to the community that we made I mean look we're not going anywhere and I think that's the point we're trying to prove um one thing I took to heart was when I started my media career was this was a project I told people they go this is just a silly podcast uh not silly but oh that's cool you're doing a podcast right oh well you know how long are you gonna be committed all I heard was guys just give up and I'm like that's that's not gonna be the group that I bring in it's not us and so whether you like or hate us uh we're not going away and honestly uh why do we want to leave such a great Community as it is so I can't see the comments because I'm not I'm not even on the normal streamyard I'm not like Kevin where I it was just locked out of the streamyard I just can't see the comments but love you guys appreciate you guys uh and even on a day where the Orioles lost um it's all good British Raven thank you um that's uh like I said it's it's all great it all means something um and just wait till we what we have in store so long long way to go a long way to go I mean hell I think the story of bringing it together it's uh reading all these I'll read this yeah Zach's wandering Zach can we get a status report like what the hell come on Zach spe gonna I gonna say I I always knew we would hit 10K while I'm in some random alley in Federal Hill so it was always a goal of mine for us to reach that Milestone here but uh no we appreciate everyone who Tunes in it like you said Ryan it's it's a small Milestone to some but we've we've worked every day for it and it's just the beginning so let's cheers to uh the next 10,000 and I am waiting for my beer on the other side but that's another thing yeah I will say for the boys uh yeah that pocket watch that we'll have a we'll have a best of for Ryan Ripken show negative and critical right and there's something that I try to show there the reason why I wanted to start media in general was to create a space of things that I didn't like when I was playing and growing up and it was constantly trying to make something in a story that doesn't need to be made into it or made into it and also creating a space where people can be themselves and you can talk and you can be passionate and I'm okay with every one if you get mad and you're frustrated hell yeah hell yeah brother be be pissed off but also understand times are going to pass but personally for me I want whatever you feel you feel comfortable joining our show to express yourself and I'm just trying to bring that to a space where everything can be bogged down when you look at your phone I don't want our group to be a a single moment where you feel that you don't have an outlet like this is fun for us we hope it's fun for you is that fair to say guys yeah 100% that's that's that's what it's Taco Bell so I'm in the drivethru right now we the actual turning over of 10K I'm so mad dude it's like it's literally like going out on December 31st and like going to the bathroom when the clock hits zero and just missing that's exactly what happen you know you know though no one goes to the [ __ ] bathroom at midnight well you know listen I'm a unique person rip you should know that by now holy shirts and pants I take it back about the positivity Rocco makes me feel some type of way everyone else it's all love but you guys want to know what you guys want to know what I got no I got a lot of food I got a lot of food coming my way oh man two all right two crunch trap Supremes two soft tacos a large Baja Blast and an order of Nacho fries and my total came out to like 2216 I'm about to have a night I'm proud of you on the toilet no that'll be tomorrow Brad yeah how are the Vibes good for you Rocco thanks uh The Vibes are uh are Vibes are high look we we're cross 10,000 subscribers we're at 10,5 now already and uh we the the the or there was a baseball game tonight and uh it was absolutely insane yeah that was nuts man and correct me if I'm wrong though guys um Yankees lost they did they did so the Silver Lining here Kevin yeah even though the Orioles they lose a tough game they got the wins against I I honestly think the Orioles messed with the Yankee psyche big time too um oh yeah that was a and like and and vice versa though that was a very draining series for Baltimore too but um the Orioles got the wins they really needed and hey you lose the Orioles lost the first game against the Phillies lost the first game against the Yankees Asos hey status quo right now you know what I love guys what I love about it they have fight they give up a nine burger in an inning they get fight back and get a seven spot like the grit is what you want to see on a day-to-day basis and the Orioles have it it just wasn't a consistent night for the birds um and I'm gonna wash it for for Grayson like look but it also makes you guys value how special Corbin Burns is so for anyone else that says out there that he isn't doing enough and I don't know who says that but I've had a couple comments to me what else do you want Corbin to do besides be a level of consistency something that is that the team has needed he's been that and Luis heel if there's a reminder Luis heel was the top dog for the Yankees and even he got rocked so watch me say that and Corbin has a bad game he obviously he's allowed to have one but it it puts in perspective just how solid Corbin's been and also just how solid everyone else has been and also shout out Nick besby he's traveled a lot of miles to go out there and help the bullpen love it yeah yeah you know what else too rip look Corbin Burns all he has to do is just keep the run count uh below 10 and you know we got a chance to win I that's really what what it's all about over the last uh couple of games yeah he's a good kid pressure's off he's a good kid um you know how about Tony ters with number 11 for the month for the month not the season crazy the month yeah and Gunner did all right too yeah he had an okay game yeah yeah I was telling you all this game was missing was Lam more Jackson with the way this football score looked I mean what's with the Orioles and these football scores over the last two games Sports baby yep yeah Kevin how did you uh celebrate 10K with Banky uh no I tried to pick him up and he made it very clear he did not want to get picked up so that end quickly maybe he's usually pretty good he's pretty good when uh when I pick him up sometimes but uh yeah good point yeah he could have he almost had a chance to go six vers six which is pretty wild it's incredible man pretty good player pretty good player and it's just a reminder also uh just how deep this lineup is you know what I mean and that's something that you want to continue to see on a day-to-day basis um Kevin Brown Kevin Brown can uh consistently said this tonight but um between Gunner and adley they had 11 at bats and nine times they got on base that's just stupid yeah and it was one it was one of those games remember when I told you guys the other day when Cole is actually yesterday and when Cole was pitching and it sometimes hard when there's a lot of offensive production to go out there and be a pitcher in games like today was was one of those examples because the Orioles lineup still had that kind of Mojo working um but for both teams as pitchers it's just a tough it there's something in the air when it happens I don't really know how to describe it as a as a to articulate what happens but it's a real thing and once someone catches fire it's like it's a domino effect but it wasn't just the Orioles by the way obviously you know the Astros did a lot of good work tonight the Astros and we heard Jeremy talk about it it's a good it's a good lineup they just haven't been able to put together a winning product enough but this is a team that's very capable of going out and winning games and catching fire you know so just keep that context here um I'm not going to really worry about the bullpen in this situation we talked about an extensively we have another video we can release that I saw a lot of people when we talked about Trevor Bower um and even bull pieces we talk about all of that in a later conversation at the end of the Ryan riing show yesterday so we will release it and also for everyone that's talking about the bower thing um oh the the political word the agenda look when we try to tell you like it's I try to tell you guys personally how I think the teams are doing it like what their thought is because I think that's the best reason doesn't matter what my opinion is on it or your opinion guys it's what is Major League Baseball's opinion and the reality is X Y and Z I gave what three or four reason reasons last night Brad one one big one being is culture for your squad and so that's something that um take out everything else it's not it's it's with any player it's like we we sometimes second guess that with Rocco you know like culture what this the guy that we need around our place right right so the guy that's ordering Supreme crunch Doritos Locos Tacos I might not ever get out of this drive-through line right now I think I'm stuck you couldn't even you couldn't order 10 for 10K Ro order n boys we're moving hold on give me one second I gotta pay this is illegal by the way what's up man how are you we are watching we are watching a crime happen in real time okay let's what else what else is on the the chat so we uh what what do we what do we think about Grayson what' you think about Grayson tonight um look I I just I think there was like just when moments when Grayson's year so far very very very very very good pitcher uh has Elite dominant moments and then he has some moments where it still reminds you that there is refinement that for his consistency he's still very very consistently when you look across the board but he does have some games where this is a kind of a part of the learning process whether it's locating pitches whe whether it's making the plays you have to make like right like overall this is a growth um and for Grayson though I mean still an underlying thing what he still got five in got through five right and I'm not losing my mind on that that's got through five got through five and then you know they had the big sixth inning correct they did they had a nine run six right yes yeah so it was a nine so I'm just making sure I'm losing my mind at this St at this time of night here not I'm not built like Kevin and Zach for this yeah it's lunch time man come on I'm not however however that's my point is is that everything could look a lot differently um if if it's just finishing the job off and the consistency with it but I got nothing I got no worries with Grayson but it is a reminder of just learning yourself on the consistency level and that there is something to be said to be able to finish out there's Grayson can go up and compete against any lineup and dominate every single lineup it's going to be the consistent each time you're out there and I do believe this wholeheartedly he's GNA learn how to get better and better at being that consistent outing after consistent outing guy you know um you know his body of work again don't let a couple starts Still Still top tier but they're all they're always is room for improvement so he's one of those pitchers too that just has to settle in and I think today he just it just didn't there there was no settling taking place even though but I mean again he made it made it through five innings like you had said but he's definitely one of those pitchers that has to has to get in a Groove um it's not not not a fast start kind of guy yeah well the thing too is deal dealing with the adversity when it hits you you know and that's something that when we're talking about Burns again Burns if you go and look at his starts you can see sometimes where he gets in jams and people talk about he doesn't hold Runners on or walks a guy or whatever it may be but the dude grinds right like he works through the adversity and each time and it's not he's gonna have his starts I'm already telling people the greatest pitchers in baseball are gonna have these rough starts but it's those adverse situations you're right Brad it's it's limiting damage limiting the situations um and ultimately that's gonna make Grayson overall even better than he already is so I think we're rip I think we're seeing a more mature Grayson from last season I think everybody can you know look at the way he responds body language wise and pitch-wise and yeah this wasn't his best outing by any means in fact you know not to add insult to injury it was one of his worst I think it was this one and I want to say the one at La could have been a different one maybe I'm thinking of where he it was the Angels where he went I think four and a third and gave up seven I think that's what it was but his last three starts before this he'd gone three straight with two earned runs or less so he's going to get into a rhythm like you said he's going to have his bad starts he's going to have his good starts but for the most part uh we want to see Grayson Rodriguez just show his maturity and show his ability to bounce back because when you start stringing together start after start where it's okay five earned runs six earned runs seven earned runs then that's going to be an issue but I don't see that happening with Grayson this season I just think this was kind of a a blip on the radar if you want to call it that in in a not so good way but I'm sure he'll bounce back going forward and for the O's man uh correct me if I'm wrong they lost to the first game of the series against the Phillies they lost the first game of the series against the Yankees so this is kind of a a June Trend as of late to lose that first game of the series and then and then bounce back and win the next two games so hopefully they can do that in Houston uh take care of business and win another another series and stay hot in the month of June yeah I'm not worried about them I'm not really worried about um the loss in that sense I I really don't um the thing for me that's the focus is the bullpen is tired in general you know um and and so the bigger thing that's why I emphasize with Grayson getting through five he had to get through five at least um because yesterday Cole Cole uh was pulled before five yeah your bu had to work a little bit harder and Shout Out Nick vby again like going two innings I think was the final number to that like he needs to and he was ready he was rested overall to do it um but can the Orioles kind of pushed through because here's the other part is you want to get your Bullpen reset by the time you come home to play Cleveland and Texas and I know Texas hasn't played as well right now Cleveland has been a very tough team you need you need your guy to kind of reset you and hopefully um the Orioles can have a little bit of breathing room because their arms need it you know it's it's um you know and that was one thing with talking with Trevor Hoffman which we will release that whole interview to our full Channel member or just to the public we have it out to our channel members the holy shirts and pants shout out you guys um that interviews out but we talked about Brad you were on for it it's it's not a glamorous life being a middle reliever but it's really challenging it's really hard because you got to be able to get up each time and your body's going to be taxed and and you got to work through those tough periods when you're a starter it's sometimes easier in the sense of you know you're getting the ball once every five six days you know you're going out there you can set the tone of your routine when you're a reliever your routine thrown off constantly and so that's something that the best thing you can do right now is to give him a re set and and kind of go from there so that's all I I'm in what boom Birdland we had a baseball related question so I figured we better get it in uh boomman berland says uh what did you think of the Rick Woodfield game uh last night sick well it's great and and I appreciate that we have the banter of our two children on the the stream but um look honestly it's it's it kind of felt poetic in some ways um sad with everything that happened with Willie Mays the timing but also of the timing of the game um I thought it was really cool I thought it was really well done I thought it was um you know even there's just there was so many content pieces whether it was pregame the game itself uh that I thought was really really uh I thought Major League Baseball did a great job you know of of um you know honoring that um yeah because it just it it is special I think sometimes I don't I don't always sometimes take all the time to reflect in the times when you maybe should I think we all might do that where you reflect after Something's Happened so in this case like with Willie but the reflection period of just how many special moments and and the fact that like the historic of Rick Woodfield um and even the broadcast guys I mean I know that they even took it back it was just um just I was very I was was well done and I and go ahead I was just gonna say the broadcast did make me chuckle a little bit the the the Barry Bonds comment about he was saying saying he was G to smoke SA Satchel pagee was was hilarious and and so bar Bond oh yeah that was a great content piece that that was like so that's the other part like great content piece for Barry just is being Barry yeah yeah well I loved I loved Barry's point about he said if he wasn't as confident as he is like he would have gotten to that point so of course he thinks he can take him yard oh yeah yeah and then um was sick though like the actual like uh the video when they threw it back was was really cool like you were talking about when they did the um like they basically said was it who's announcing the game was it Joe Davis anyone uh that I'm not sure sure I forget who it was like but they were like don't don't adjust your TV and then they threw it back and that was so sick because I looked up for a second and I was like what's happening right now I was like I thought they were like I thought they were airing a game from like you know a throwback game I'm like what is going on and part was that was sick Whoever thought of that deserves a damn raise because that that was really cool and it it just added so much of the broadcast as well yeah Ro I don't know if you're doing it on purpose but from the camera angle you're at right now you look like you have so much Taco Bell in front of you I I do like it looks bigger than you it's it is yeah like my cholesterol is like don't try this at home is what I'm going to tell everybody because this is like not this is not good it's is not good are you going to eat that all in one sitting yes Kevin what am I gonna do let my Taco Bell get cold and eat it tomorrow what am my Psychopaths I don't know Kevin actually go get some ters I could still see Kevin eating cold Taco Bell oh yeah I would I don't so I'm not I'm not a fan of reheating things in the microwave I would rather eat him cold and reheat you can't reheat Taco Bell either we're saying it's just done at that point the only thing reheat it if you really wanted to no the only thing I can eat like that I think like late night snack is pizza I could eat pizza cold the next day oh Brad Brad told us all about it we know yeah I would almost rather no that was that wasn't the next day that was like you we know middle of the night pizza Adventures uh speaking of middle of night I'm gonna I'm gonna get on out of
