I didn't know what I didn't know. foreign I really appreciate you spending the time with the audience here and myself um you know I tell people all the time I mean I just absolutely adore you my wife and I can't get enough of you we're just like oh my gosh we love ourselves so maybe she's just awesome and we kind of have a similar background that we were both with uh Keller Williams wonderful company good experience Etc I was never a team leader but I was a you know a recruiter of the year out of the most profitable office in the world at the time as an agent I love it but I believed in profit share and having additional income streams and eventually getting off the transactional treadmill if I could yeah didn't really work out with that system I don't know that there was enough for me to be able to to do it sure but when I saw exp it just you know rung my bell so to speak I went oh my gosh this is quite a significant difference yeah uh in regards to that additional income streams and then ownership right but you were a very successful Keller Williams team leader I mean setting records and things of that nature tell them a little perspective if you wouldn't you know tell them a little bit about what you did and okay yeah so I was with Keller Williams for eight years total um the last three years I was a team leader and um the final year and a half I was at an office that had um somewhere around 400 agents and you know wow uh in the year that I was there I I was in the top ten for um Keller Williams team leaders so recruited over 200 gross agents oh my God exactly so um yeah so I have a real passion for that I I love to see the hope for agents I love relationships I love business planning so I had a really successful career at Keller Williams and um you know same as you like I was approached by exp actually uh got reverse recruited um from an exp agent yeah it was an interesting story kind of knew that was gonna happen my assistant team leader sent out like a campaign to all of the EXP agents in North Carolina interesting and I was like did you do I was like I'm gonna get reverse recruited so sure enough I did um and one person showed up in my inbox that um he was like I'd love to be with you and there was something intriguing about it so I decided to go sit down have some coffee and listen um without my condition thinking like being a little bit more open to it tough to do it was very tough to do for you yeah I did but I did I decided um oh it kind of hurt I'll meet this guy he seems respectable um he wasn't salesy um so I was like I'll see what they're doing and then I can recruit against that so that was the plan so yeah so I just wanted to be a little more open with him so I did yeah okay and so what was the uh as you're having this coffee this meeting yeah well give us a little inside scoop of what's going on internally with Amy during that so so I was really resistant and he says I have a mean Poker Face he's like I had no idea like you had like very little emotion I was really like processing and I was thinking to myself um because I really did believe kW to be the superior model um I came over uh you know I love the education and the training that they were talking about when I was in real estate pre-licensing class um I loved all that I loved the people um and you know the opportunities that I got there and I really wrapped my arms around profit share and um so I found out as an agent I was on the growth committee and I found out I was a natural attractor and so I really leaned into that and so as I'm talking to agents I'm giving them you know my experience and my background and all that's you know available to them the opportunity and um when he Rich set across from me and said uh showed me all the opportunities for exp and really showed me the model in a way that I hadn't really seen it and understood it I had like I said conditioned thinking through what KW had taught me about exp when I put that aside and really listened I knew I was no longer with the best model um when I when I saw the difference between rough share and profit share and then you know the stock that you can earn so it just to me when I went back and I sat at my desk with a potential agent across the across from me um I no longer felt like I was at the best model so I didn't feel like I was my true authentic self and so that burdened me I was like so I kept like thinking about exp I wasn't quite ready because as you know team leaders have a salary right I was no longer in production so um I remember when uh the Rich sat across from me and he showed me his what he was making in a month from rev share and I was like but don't you think you're an anomaly and he said don't you think you are and he's like look at what you've done and I was like wow so I knew at that point like yes I can do this but I wasn't sure how long it would take and you know I had we've depended on my income and my household okay and so I had to figure out how to bridge the gap right and I think now there's some opportunities for that but then there wasn't you know so much um so a lot has happened in the last two years to change yeah and um outside of the box thinking and really you know people being in my type of position and looking for the opportunity you know we've been able to do some workarounds and so that's amazing because for me I I just had to sit and think like you know how can I do this am I ready to make that jump and you know so I literally started saving like every little Penny and trying to cut back like yeah yeah I gotta cut the fat like off the expenses but then an opportunity came up but yes I saw it I wanted it and I was just trying to figure out how to get it but I basically had to tell Rich like thanks for thinking about me but I need some time but thank you um but those four months that I um was thinking about it was painful to to tell that agent that they were making the best decision because I no longer thought they were I didn't feel like you were in Integrity or congruent I did not yeah yeah I've had I've had other uh Sean Murphy uh you and him are both Executive Vice Presidents yeah growth for all of exp which congratulations it's amazing so proud of you thank you so he was saying the same thing yeah when he saw it and he finally kind of put his ego aside and put his business hat on set the you know all the bias I just said okay I'm going to look at this with my business hat yeah you know and just really learn this thing because there's something they're doing why are they growing at 900 to 1000 agents a week not a month a week that's just never been done yeah I can't tell you how many agents that I had to have the discussion with you know about exp and because I had misinformation I fed them misinformation and I was able to save some of them um it was funny because when I moved to exp some of those started at like Amy you've talked me out of going to exp like what has happened I'm like I was mistaken like come on over now I didn't know what I didn't know right so um once I knew I knew and they say this all the time but once you see you can't unsee it and it's so true I absolutely knew and um when the opportunity came up for a corporate position um that kind of solved my my problem um with the the other Bridge the bridge the gap and income yeah and uh I was Is loyalty to them more important than your family? talking to my husband and I didn't quite know yet about you guys as far as like your collaboration and the camaraderie and um just being amazing people human beings and the sharing and the big Minds I wasn't quite sure about that yet right I knew the model I was like this is definitely gonna work and I know this is where I belong but I want I want wasn't my heart still was kind of like I'm not sure because I was so you know ingrained in Keller Williams and it felt weird and I I felt bad about those agents that I had brought over or had talked out at exp and so I remember coming downstairs after I had an alpha interview and I told my husband I'm like I know this is what I need to do I was like but I don't know if I can and he used my own line against me he said yes he said um what about he's like is the loyal to loyalty to them more important than our family and I was like oh my God I use that line all the time as a team leader because it's so true because they're like I love my broker and I'm like if your broker had an amazing opportunity do you not think that they would take it and is it more important to you that you love your book or do you love them more than you love your own family and it sounds harsh but it's really true when you think about it when you think about it and I knew long term that this was going to be so much better for my family more opportunities for my family better quality of life and so it hit me right there and I was like yeah I gotta do it from your hubby my hubby yeah so I was like oh yeah I gotta do it I gotta do it so it was still hard like like for the first two weeks when I would wake up I had like little heart palpitations like did I do the right thing because it just felt like I was out of my skin my comfortable skin and when I went to Cabo and I met you guys it was like a couple of weeks later I got the opportunity to go there that's right you you were yeah and when I the energy that you guys had and just the passion you had and you guys are all coming up to me saying how can I help you and I was like I'm supposed to be helping them and they want to help me and it has never stopped like I I am constantly having you guys asking me let me know how I can help you let me know how I can help you I'm like you guys are like just amazing and I knew that I had found my tribe then I was like oh my gosh like this is like something I've never experienced before and it was fun and it was invigorating and it was inspiring and I came out like smarter and I got to speak on stage I had no idea I was going to do that Dave just threw me on stage I was like don't forget to ever do that to me again I don't mind speaking all station give me some time to prep so um yeah so that was you did amazing it was it was so it was fine and I talked about my interview with Dave um because I really wasn't into it whenever he first interviewed me and I didn't even know if he was the president of the company so um I had like no makeup on hair in a bag on my mobile um I was getting ready to go to an award ceremony I was getting ready to go get my hair and makeup done and um and so I asked him this guy I was like so what's your role in the company and he's like me I was like I was sorry I was like I didn't know I was like excuse my appearance and he told me later he's like that's really why I liked you he's like and again it was the same thing like with Rich he was like couldn't really read you he's like I was intrigued by I didn't even know if you liked a word I was saying but yeah it was it was an amazing experience and I loved I loved him he was also a former KW and owned several offices so he could speak my language he knew what what my um fears were like my questions and so he was amazing and so um so that really helped you know to turn the corner for for my thinking as well so it solidified what I already kind of knew so it was great so I have not looked back and it has been just the best yeah thank you so Business increased over 300% and $250K in stock! okay I want to dive a little deeper on that interpretation that fear of change am I making the right decision so you and emotionally it sounds like me internally you had made the physical move yet I probably hadn't told a lot of people but you're like you know Don got it yeah this as much as I hate to admit it this actually does look better for my family and you got support from Robbie yeah which is important it's interesting though with humans that that where you pull the trigger and actually move you get into the discomfort Zone and so on and and you were super successful and got the accolades and the the awards and the recognition at your previous company talk a little bit about change because you not just from the TL level which I do want you to talk about but you now help agents big production teams and icon producing tea uh agents and so on there's this human nature fear of change right and is it really how they talk about her and I just getting you know they just want me over there and recruit me or whatever yeah it's funny because even like change as simple as like oh I'd have to change all my my signs my yard signs or I gotta do new marketing I just I just created a website I was like oh my gosh you guys like that is such a short term for such a long-term gang I'm like do me a favor and let's not like get in the weeds over the short term like we can fix that like you know that's not hard we've got people like that is super simple to do you can do it like that um I was like we have connections we know people and so let's really get into the long-term opportunities for you here and for me you know even though I knew in my brain when I was having that conversation at Panera Bread um you know my heart wasn't quite there yet and I did some research on my own like once you know I started to get a little bit more serious about coming over and I started to interview agents that had left KW and went to exp and so one in particular um I was with him at the original Market Center and thought I was at the smaller one and he had transitioned to exp a couple of years earlier and um he thought I was trying to recruit him to KW so because I caught him and I was like hey Jason I was like um I am really looking at people who have moved to exp and just want to know like what you love about it what you don't love about it just get some feedback I'm just kind of getting getting some Intel and he's like okay Amy he's like um if you want to meet a comedy to KW you could just told me that and I laughed and I was like yeah I was like no really truly like I'm I really am like gathering information and um he said okay so uh he's like for one thing the training is absolutely phenomenal she said I've increased my business over 300 percent in the last couple of years and he said it is simply by plugging into the training he's like I know KW is supposed to have amazing training but I promise you this is Next Level Training he said the culture is absolutely phenomenal I sat next to the CEO of the company had no idea who's the CEO of the company he was just talking to me like a normal person I found out later and I was like what and he's like you know the the accessibility to leadership he's like it's like none other he's like and he said I've been here I think it was like two and a half or three years I can't remember exactly he's like and I have 250 000 in stock and he's like that's life-changing for my kids he had two little girls he has two little girls they were like two and four and that's what got me because rich said don't you think you're an anomaly and I did as far as like rev sure went but yeah I didn't think everyone was and I I have different thoughts about that now but that was kind of where I was because I was used to profit share where I did all the work for everyone I was just like just give me a name I'll work it for you just go online to go on so hard yeah I always did the whole thing and so it was like painful to really get someone on board that you know that would actually do that um but anyway I knew that just by doing a real estate business then you're gonna automatically earn stock and you can opt into you know the agent Equity I'm like that is life changing like no matter if you dip into that third lane or not um that is powerful and that is something that my agents don't have right now and that is going to change his kids life and I knew right then I was like oh my gosh like that just says everything I needed to say now I know as far as like that third lane there's so much organic growth like with exp and people show up in your inbox and they see all that you're doing and they hear the buzz about exp they want to know more about it so you don't even really have to I mean if you're purposeful about a game changer um but even if you're not like you're gonna organically grow even if you just a little bit you know just reach just reach back out to the people that are reaching back out to you yeah get in the game and if you really want to to do it big then you just have to be purposeful about it the way you know Brent says he was Friday for like two or three hours every Friday and it's just setting that time aside and you have to think of it it's not like is is recruiting and yet it's not and I don't think recruiting is a bad word because you know we're sharing and we're trying to you're blessing people but that's the thing like you're blessing people and when you think about how much it's changed your life and your husband's life and your kids lives why would you not want everyone to experience that so at least like just get excited about sharing the opportunity and how it's impacted you and other agents around you and when you do that it just changes your perception and it doesn't feel dirty to do it so I'm like tell talk to as many people as you can like let's just change all the lives and I tell people hey you don't have to take them goal line to goal line yeah you know just Peak Interest and pass there's so many people that you have to that too to support you and so on absolutely yeah um okay so I want to The strongest Success line in all of eXp! respect your time so last question because you are in a unique position where you see all of these influencers and leaders and so on within you know exp and so forth and maybe you could speak about you know our success line of sponsorship we got Sheila you know Gene Frederick Sheila fedgeron Brent go Randy bird Don Yocum Tom days myself yeah I mean it's incredible I'm biased I think it's arguably the the strongest most diverse amazing success team as I call it in all of exp but I'd love to get your perspective yeah you just named like all my favorite people so yeah like and you guys really are like some of my favorites and just warm and welcoming and givers um so yes obviously you know that is like a strong line of business-minded giving um opportunity seeking opportunity giving people and so such a strong line for someone to come into and have that Community already like it's right there all you have to do is grab hold of it and um wow what an amazing opportunity yes just plug in yes yes and I heard Sheila speak last night and to hear her background about how she reached out to Brent had heard it before but not exactly a little bit more detail yeah so I was like I was intrigued by that and she was like a struggling single mom and she just made the decision and that she wanted to you know be in all 50 states and she got a game changer and as we know like Brent is just like something else but every single person has the opportunity right and so you've got like a faith-based um you know the original grower and then Brett who is so just energetic and passionate and you know oh my gosh the biggest heart so kind um I mean he's always acting like you know I'm his sister you guys all do so uh it's just a it's just a wonderful and you guys have so many things you can plug into um the masterminds and all the trainings and just uh so much diversity in that and different personalities with that that too so they can you know whoever they are they they can lean into like whoever they resonate with um and then others right so it's it's pretty powerful yeah that's awesome yeah congratulations to you guys yeah it's been it's been a wild ride it's been fun and and being able to have the diversity of leadership and create these systems that Agents from all 50 states and multiple countries can plug into and get poured into uh layered on top of the 30 to 50 hours and 60 hours of live 85 hours of live training just keeps growing absolutely yeah I mean it's just they go They're people are blown away are you serious this is amazing and then you know your organization has all these other additional support it's it's pretty awesome so it is I always say like you know uh it this is like where where you're reaching up to get that leverage from all of you guys um if you're in there you reach up and you're grabbing hold of that and then at the same time you're reaching down to help the next person so there's like two hands like this one up one down and that's exp it's like you know you've got all these people that want to help you lift you and then you are you know you have that internal like I want to do that too and you're reaching down to help the next one and that's how we need to think about Asian attraction who can we help to to level up to where we are I love it yeah yes I thank you so much so I can just talk yeah that was so good for the time absolutely appreciate you so much always yes I appreciate you yeah yeah thank you [Music] [Applause] thank you
