Strange Goings-on In Qualifying - F1 Manager 24 Career [Ferrari]: S01/R06 - Miami Sprint

hello again I am Jim Bob and welcome back to FB manager 24 career with Ferrari we are getting ready for round six Miami we have 11 days to go let's check our inbox uh we have got a few parts that were destroyed thanks to uh Norris absolutely uh ramming uh sites off the road completely in the Sprint those have been replaced everything else has survived is good uh our tour Center upgrades gone through as has the cfd upgrade so I'm going to advance time there is the suspension being done so now we can get our rear wing into production we'll go with four of those we go that's uh another million must I thought be a bit more expensive than that but that's good uh side pods are done as well let me check the warehouse we should still be building chassis and suspensions I believe yeah one more suspens uh one more chassis to come no more suspensions so we do need one extra suspension that'll be to replace the one that was destroyed by by noris go skipping our way through new ATR period is about to start and we get a little boost to dino banovich right uh don't have any slots available yet but the underfloor will be finished in 3 days uh just before we go to Miami Hospitality upgrade is done that's the spare chassis and the spare suspension so we now have four suspensions uh only three chassis again we need an extra one because we kind of destroyed one in the uh in the Sprint uh we can now fit that car uh or fit that part to uh SS as well take 10 days for an extra one go uh let's go ahead and check side pods they are on both cars ch is now on both cars and suspension is now on both cars so it's just the under floor the rear wing and the front Wing to sort out uh let's fit the rear wi to both cars go uh front Wing still in uh in development let's get our pit crew training done let's go with a full day of Gym training there we go even the day off before and then we'll have some split Trading [Music] want to make sure that we minimize any risks of mistakes where we can through to the MonDay let's put in a day of car building and then we'll go back to a day of split and that's going to take too long to clear so let's take a little bit of that train away and there we go we're going in nicely refreshed for uh Italy for um EMA and again we're going to put in half a day training here as well we can probably go with a full days training here if not more yeah there we go let's actually go with some speed training to finish the month off perfect and I will also maybe yeah throw in just a little bit of car building there as well okay so that's our gains for the month with our pck crew under floor design is done can't build it yet I don't think can we oh we can uh so whack four of those into production got a bit more money from the board up to 5.7 mil after those uh expenses you can see we still got a chassis an underfloor and a rear wing building we've now got a slot free so let's do some more research let's do uh a little bit of research on the rear wing we'll leave as is one engineer and we'll do a duplicate part uh we'll start the next round of upgrades uh when the front Wing is uh is cleared we'll start uh working on something new maybe a actually maybe we'll do another research project and then when the the chassis research is done then we'll start to build a new chassis I think we'll do that right so let's take a look at the uh mentality of our drivers really strong numbers from lir again scien his numbers pretty good set some targets third and fourth let's go to Miami once again we touchdown in Miami as F1 returns to the Magic City we're in the state of year round summer the streets of Miami Gardens will come alive with a roar of racing and the excitement is only just beginning don't forget the schedule this weekend sees the drivers take to the track for an allout Sprint race a good opportunity to clinch some crucial Championship points let's get this underway [Music] welcome everyone qualifying for the Sprint a waiters and we're raring to get going so it's a wet one for qual and the car setup does need some refining [Music] [Music] I think that is probably it for the CLA going to stick with the same powertrain components that we used used in the previous race I am going to uh go back to using the new er though for [Music] sights let's go with that right starting on full wets let's see how quickly the track will dry up uh pretty quickly man we get out there and do a lap in the for wet [Music] oh I had to lock up for science here we are then at the 11th corner and they just can't keep on the track and they might want to take a look at the floor of the car there because that won't do it any good well luckily theor is fine yeah and it's a plan to give a big boost of confidence negative on the Das backfired a little bit for SES although he has gained some confidence so it's not been a complete L Sleep p Lane be [Music] careful uh don't take we're going to have time for two laps so let's just go with the one I keep forgetting Sprint qualifying shorter sessions but those that are going out early are going out too early that means Hamilton one of the first out is serious risk of getting knocked out [Music] it's going to set the Benchmark but the track water level is falling all the time [Applause] [Music] what time is he going to set a 141.5 that is not going to be good enough I don't think [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] water level considerably lower again than when Hamilton did his lap [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] have got some traffic that we're going to have to contend with should comfortably get through and AC Hamilton is now 2.2 seconds slower than Perez as more cars cross the the line he's going to fall further and further down the [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] order looks like he might just survive [Music] [Applause] [Music] there we go so Norris did not set a time wow why didn't Norris set a time or Joo did they not go out or did they just not cross the line in time okay big surprise Landon Norris out in q1 look at that's so close so [Music] close a run now and then we'll do another run at the end of the session and stay negative stay negative track's going to dry up a little bit why everyone's waiting there is the track starting to dry let's start seeing some cars coming out soon there they go same t [Music] [Music] [Applause] the botas is definitely going out uh here time is uh not too far away from ours but ours were set when the track was at its absolute wetest in this session it's now much much drier they see hulkenberg has gone across the line over a second quicker than VY these times are going to start tumbling question is are we going to hit the back of the queue in [Music] front might get a little bit of a slip stream here from Magnuson [Music] G is the quickest at the moment 136.6 the CL is going to Blitz [Music] that 41 quicker about sights up to fifth a second off the pace but we are through Perez is out another shock and once again no time set this time it's albon all right final session this time we are going to do a two laap run I'm we going to go out now [Music] [Applause] so benchmarks have been set rest of the field hasn't come out yet and they've left it too long where is everybody why are they not coming [Music] out it's is this is bizarre Ricardo will set a time at the moment we are good Hamilton will set a time stroll will set a time Corner p v and Alonso are not setting a time and now we are about to have a second bite at the Cherry to improve our [Music] times why isn't the AI coming out it's going to make the uh Sprint grid [Music] interesting and we should comfortably get a one two [Music] here s's currently a 10th up well less than a tenth up half a tenth stroll goes quickest with a 1378 but both of our drivers are going quicker than this at the moment purple middle sector will stroll sorry will science take that away he does a [Music] 229 how way off the pace but he's fourth right [Music] now here comes CLA up to the [Music] line it's a 1368 a second quicker than stroll and science is going even quicker here a 1367 and that's it we're just waiting on Ricardo where is Ricardo there he [Music] is I reckon he's going to out qualify Hamilton quite comfortably here this is the most bizarre qualifying session or qualifying period that I've been in so many cars just not running that's got to be a bug has to be a [Music] bug it can't be a conscious decision not to run there we go Ricardo goes third he had qualified stroll so Danny Rick will start the Sprint in third place way above predictions there gastri will be sixth ahead of Max and sth Russell e8th hulkenberg 9th Alonzo in 10th what a strange qualifying well it's a different format this weekend with a Sprint set to spice up today's events and of course the big incentive here is getting a few extra points on the board with the top finishers in the Sprint set to add to their Championship tally but who will be victorious in the Miami Sprint we'll soon find out has that handle us the Sprint win without even trying I think it quite probably has uh so let's have a look parts are okay I think science is favorite for this one given his uh much healthier [Music] gearbox Let's uh hit the track and here in Miami it's time for the Sprint and it's lights out and away we go we're the only ones on the softs everyone else running mediums apart from Alburn on the hard [Music] tires CL trying to uh steal a march on sights here it's gone the inside through that first [Music] sector they're still side by side SS surely though is going to uh sweep around the outside here or is he Ricardo having a [Applause] look and still side by side and finally SS yields and slots in behind charl [Music] [Applause] and the AI is pushing their mediums just a little bit harder than we are pushing at normal Pace here well even albon's pushing his tires harder than we are and then behind we have sign sign behind 0.4 and uh just like that we have left the pack because Ricardo's RB is no match for the Ferrari especially considering it's a little wounded with a damaged [Music] engine strolls going to have a look up the inside yry arriving late on the brakes there and now stroll has got himself in [Music] range as's Max in seventh place fighting with Hamilton ra his L there is norrish norrish still down in 18th Place Paris in 10th now back down to 11th swapping places with [Music] alono and push the batteries can use K1 [Music] CLA complaining about being pushed wi but he's got the move done and he is through and you can use a p the Boost back now it's time for the Prancing horse to gallop Max Dives up the inside of Oscar and that is fifth [Music] place but by the time he gets through into third we should hopefully be long gone Max trying to find a way through can't quite make it is now under intense pressure from pastri and Alonso has shot up the order he's now into Seventh Place having got past uh hulkenberg and the two uh Mercedes drivers as well Perez also got past hulkenberg up into 10 Hamilton holding on to the final points position at the moment scroll broke away and that's now giving Max the opportunity to move his way up but he's been unable to do so because of the DRS now that there's no one giving stroll DRS Max should dive through pretty quickly in fact he gets him immediately straight into turn one and that might be Max off and Away now [Music] [Music] immediately puts the hammer down and that is the 1 second margin he needed over [Music] stroll three car fight behind him sights andir continue to swap places [Music] [Music] Ricardo now looks to be slowly slipping down the order p goes through Alonso is waiting in the wings as is uh Hamilton and Perez in night R intent Ricardo might potentially slip all the way down to 10th before this Sprint is over maybe even further behind if his engine plays up even more 134 and a337 for R2 as they cross the line Max does actually now we haven't crossed the line yet have we 134 0 1343 and a 1333 for the snapping piash also now up and pass stroll as hulkenberg's fault escalates and now L Clair has a fault has to be the [Music] RSB not the ERS sorry it has to be the gearbox again let's have a look uh yeah it is the gearbox and it's going to overheat now and that's going to continue to wear out at a fast rate now that fix is not going to uh come during the Sprint it's not going to be uh able to be even attempt to resolve it until after this race so this gearbox is now done won't be used in racing anymore we will have to change it for the for the feature race as Clair Dives on through and what's going to be best for him really is going to be the lead car but he has the slow of the two cars be it's going to be tricky for him to hold Carlos back gri now moves ahead of Max into third place with a 1324 he is absolutely flying the Gap is down to just over 2.3 seconds and still plummeting 2 seconds these guys are pushing hard I am going to turn the tires up and try to increase pushing status head now it's getting very feisty in the lower half of the top 10 here you can see Alonso and stroll fighting side by side Paris tucking right behind them then Russell just behind keeping a watching brief with Hamilton right behind him as well some very intense fights going on up and down the Grid at the moment Harrow sorry piastri and vapen continue to keep swapping places they're only a second and a half behind us science moves back into the lead Magnuson into the pits has come out on a new set of medium tires [Music] that's a very odd decision his tires weren't that bad I mean he had pushed them pretty hard but yeah very surprised to see him push his tires that hard which means that we could see a lot of other drivers also stopping again look at hulkenberg look at botas sergeant Aon gazley Joe even Max their tires are all in the 50% range and then the others aren't that much further better further ahead than them we're only halfway through this Sprint as we are reestablishing the lead a little bit over pastri and theen [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Perez now catching and passing Ricardo having got pass both of the astons I completely missed that he done that must have happened in the last lap so that is [Music] now fifth place for Jacko and Ricardo's engine fault has escalated a bit more there are the two asons as Alonso now dives through gets that move complete and surely now it's just a matter of time before stroll gets through as well he's got the over speed Ricardo helpless to stop that next up Russell and [Music] Hamilton lir really not happy with SS SCI has dropped off the [Music] back two squabbling through uh turn one I think focus on consistency now we are seeing other cars [Music] boxing sergeant and hulkenberg are both in set of softs and set of softs I'm trying my best try your best magon has already stopped we know about that Aon has stopped as well look for a new set of softs and I'm looking at those tires and I'm seeing the potential for a lot of other cars to make a stop as [Music] well seven laps to go he's on the CLA and science continue to swap places in the Gap to a Sten now 5.2 5.3 seconds [Music] about 5 and a half laps to go lir has just about been dropped by Saints although he might get the DRS back through the underpass here Max has upped his pace and pulled away from P see did a 1330 last lap perz has just got past alono and it's immediately pushed to break away so expect to see him post a quick lap time at the end of this lap alono has Russell alongside him and Russell actually moving through Hamilton and Ricardo still swapping places Hamilton has not been able to sort of keep Pace with the cars in front lost a lot of time trying to get past Ricardo did eventually manage it but Ricardo has retaken the position I expect Hamilton will reclaim that now but he's now got sonoda right behind him and norrish up into 12th there he is just in the background there and then it's a big gap all the way back to Alon no one else has boxed yet and they probably won Now with uh five laps [Music] left but we may yet see punctures [Music] three laps to go and the squabbles continue s Clair still swapping positions the Gap to the stappen has uh increased a little bit more now gazley has picked up a fault Russell and Perez keep squabbling over fifth place alono just keeping a watching brief at the moment and Hamilton has been passed by sonoda and we have a yellow flag someone running a little wide or was that contact stroll running wide now this one involves stroll oh we've seen a few go off the track there and you really can't do that to off the pack and that might ruin his chances of uh moving up any any higher there he is 2 seconds back now [Music] [Music] last two laps of the race once again we're seeing positions swapping back and forth Russell and perz have just swapped places twice Hamilton is still close to snow and having a look norrish now up to 11th place and just just outside of DRS range might get it through this first sector here [Applause] Ricardo is down to 12 he won't fall any further unless he retires too big a gap now back to [Music] [Applause] albon stroll has been able to close towards the back of his teammate just outside the DRS range cu again moves past George Russell sonoda develops a fault oh that could be fatal for his uh [Applause] position and alonso's got past Russell now I think perz might just be safe sa Hamilton could be in trouble here it's a really slow launch from Norris he must be out of battery to have lost that much launch there all right let's concentrate final lap there's George Russell in seventh trying to get back on terms with Alonso peros I think is now possibly going to be safe all going to be dependent on this first seor alono will try his damnest has just about snuck back into DRS but can he stay there science is ahead of charl clir we're 8 seconds clear of Max [Music] vnen Al L has got back into range and has potentially dropped George this should be a great finish for alanso to get up in front of perz and stay there here comes the [Applause] move and he completes it comfortably this is now the final opportunity for SS and we are management he's going to have a look gets up the inside shuts down sh and that should be the win SS wins the Sprint clir in second I canot believe it as simple as that thank you guys Carlos science with a Sprint Victory here maximum point is the best result they could have hoped [Applause] for in the end alono broke clear by nearly two seconds Perez just holds off George Russell for sixth Russell seventh stroll will take the final Point spot in eighth Coda ninth Norris getting past Hamilton in the end for 10th Hamilton then dropping down to 11th there is Ricardo down nine places from where he started but was never expected to hang on for third and with a fault that made it pretty much impossible to finish inside the top 10 as well albon is 13th a long way back and then we're into the pit Stoppers Magnuson oh not quite oh they have pushed really look how hard they've pushed their tires again magon put on fresh mediums I don't think botas stopped hul ber definitely stopped Sergeant stopped Aon stopped and all they were able to do was get in front of gazley and Joe two stop not working at all nobody punctured [Music] though what a great Sprint win that was for Carlos sints and what a well-deserved P1 finish that was absolutely outstanding so confirmation of the Sprint result then it is Carlos SS taking the win from charl L Clair Max foren up into third place to round out the uh Sprint Podium uh then it is Oscar in fourth Alonso up five places to take fifth place ahead of Perez Russell in seventh stroll eighth for the final point then sonoda in ninth Lando Norris up from 19th to 10th Hamilton down six places to finish in 11th then Ricardo in 12th albon 13th Magnuson 14th then botas hulkenberg Sergeant Aron gazley Joe that is your top 20 and I will see you in part two for qualifying and the race
