it's um it's amazing it's amazing just to start the season off the right way getting it in the win Conor there going to be a lot to learn from from this tape but it's about how you finish this is who he is I mean he was he's in an offense now where he has other players around him so everyone can't key chest on him right they have a good receiving core they have a good tight end I mean he becomes a guy that you can use as a chess piece I expect Jaylen Hurst to get better and again I feel like this is a test for this Eagles team after the way things ended last year and and they came out on top you know you guys I'm just going to go ahead and jump straight into the Philadelphia Eagles at this point because this team man as we all know put together a great off season this year and with the regular season finally starting we were excited to see if all of these additions that they made were going to help out and uh you guys I think it's pretty easy to say now that how Roseman has done it once again he went out and got all of the missing pieces that this team had last year and even though they didn't play Perfect in their week one game they looked like the team that I thought they could be and they're only going to continue to get better from here and man if this team continues to get better the sky is the limit for what their potential is for this season and that's why if I was any other NFL franchise I'd be worried about having to play them but before get into why I exactly believe that if you like Philadelphia Eagles content just like this make sure to go down and hit that subscribe button so you don't miss any Eagles videos for the remainder of the regular season okay so to get right back on topic with the Philadelphia Eagles this team of course was coming into Green Bay as slight favorites but really more as a toss-up game that could go either way and I think a lot of people actually thought they might lose this game they thought the Eagles had a terrible end to last season and they were going to keep that same momentum going and they were going to start the season off bad just like they ended it but they didn't do that at all they might not have played perfect but they showed all the flashes that you want to see in a week one game and most importantly they found a way to come out with the win like they usually do I think we need to start on the offensive side of the ball because this is what I was most excited to see simply due to the fact that they went out and added that guy saquon Barkley to be their number one running back and whenever they added him I knew it was going to be a great addition but I think he actually overdid my expectations I mean we all knew this guy was a great player and we knew he was finally going to get to run behind a great offensive line for the first time in his career so he probably was going to play really good football but this guy didn't just play really good football the other night he played absolutely outstanding football not only in the Run game but also as a receiving threat out of the back field he ran for over a 100 yards while averaging over four yards per carry while also rushing for two touchdowns and then to go along with that he also had two catches for 23 yards and a touchdown as well and I think that showed us a small glimpse of how big of a rooll he's going to play in this offense this year and how much the Eagles are going to lean on him when they need an offensive spark he is so good behind the line of scrimmage of finding the hole and running through it and when he decides to take off he is so explosive and that's why we saw him get so many big chunk plays I mean we're talking about a Packers defense it is supposed to be really really good so the fact that saquin made it look easy makes me really confident in what this Eagles offense is going to be as a whole moving forward they're once again going to have one of the best rushing attacks in the league and I don't think that just needs to be credited to Sequin all also think we got to give that guy Kell Moore a lot of credit because his run scheme looks so much better than what the Eagles had last year with all the motion and trickery that he added to it and that's going to make saquon's life even easier than it already was being behind a great offensive line I think that's going to be the key to this offensive success being able to run the football and when you're able to pair with that a passing attack like we also saw against the Packers that's when this offense really gets scary now Jaylen Herz I know didn't have the greatest football game he did throw two interceptions and those interceptions were pretty bad but outside of that he really played good in my opinion and we all know he's not going to throw two interceptions every game and man if he wouldn't have thrown those two interceptions or if he would have just thrown one of them this game probably ends up in a blowout because even with those two turnovers and a fumble the Eagles still found a way to put up 34 points which really does show you a glimpse of what this offense can be at their full potential AJ Brown looked like the guy that we know he is going absolutely crazy on one of the best corners in the entire league and gy Alexander finishing the game with over a 100 yards and a touchdown which is exactly what you want out of your number one receiver and to go along with that you also have Devonte Smith going for over 80 yards on seven catches which once again just proves to me that this is the best receiver duo in football right now no matter what anyone else tries to say both of them continuously get wide open regardless of who's guarding them and they're both extremely good at getting yardage after the catch and we saw that pay off for the Eagles multiple times towards the end of the game there's just no way to guard these guys for a full 60 minutes they're going to get open at some point and we saw them start to do that against the Packers more and more as the game went on now what's great about this offense is it doesn't just stop there you also have Dallas Gard who played a pretty good game as well he didn't have a ton of yardage but he had some key catches here and there that helped keep the offense moving down the field and that gives you three elite weapons to throw the ball to and that is not something that many teams have now what's so crazy about all of this is we didn't even see Jan Dodson have a catch and that's the guy they just recently picked up and I think the only reason we didn't see him get a ton of targets is because he's new and he's still learning the offense so once he gets implemented a little bit more this offense is going to get even better even though that might sound a little bit crazy coming out of my mouth I just can't see a world where they don't end up as a top five offense in the League this year and if they do that they're going to win a lot of football games but even with the offense looking really good the Eagles biggest concern coming into this season wasn't the offense it was most definitely the defense and whether they'd be able to play to the level that they used to be able to play at because if they could this team was going to be a contender and if they couldn't they were probably going to do something similar to what they did last season and man even though I know they had some mishaps you got to understand that the offense put the defense in a ton of bad positions where they were either in the Red Zone already or they were inside the 50 due to turnovers because if you take that into account the defense really didn't play that bad now they might not have played perfect but they didn't play bad and it all starts with the pass rush and what they were able to do because we saw all night long the Eagles getting after Jordan love and making him rush his throws and they were even able to get home two different times and Sack Jordan love when you're able to get a lot of pressure on a quarterback it's going to make everything else on your defense look so much better and I really do think think that's what we saw happen for the Eagles because whenever their donon was getting pressure we saw the secondary's life get a lot easier and we started to see the secondary really pick it up the main guys on the defensive line that were causing Havoc were number one the new addition Zack bond which I did not expect to have as big of an impact as it did because this guy had both sacks that the Eagles had and he also led the team in tackles which shows how good he played like I said I didn't think this guy was going to have as big of an impact as he had but if he can continue to play like this this defensive line is going to be really really good especially when you pair with that that we saw Jaylen Carter getting after the passer a lot we saw the new edition Bryce Huff getting after the passer quite a bit and we even saw Nolan Smith get back there a few times which is really promising so while they're not perfect you shouldn't expect them to be in week one I really liked what we saw out of the defensive line and then when you move back to the linebacker room I loved what I saw there as well because last year as we all know the linebackers were absolutely horrific on this team and even though they didn't have Devon white in this game the linebacker still played really good so once they get Devon white back you can expect him to play even better which really should make this defense pretty good and what's great about it is it doesn't stop there you also got to see a lot of flashes in the secondary that looked really good starting with of course that guy Darius slle who I thought played an okay game and then moving on to that guy quinon Mitchell who did give up a few catches but he also played really good defense a lot of different times which is also super promising considering it's his first game ever in the NFL I really do think he has the potential to become one of the better Corners in the league with the athleticism he has and that's another big reason why I'm so high on this defense as the season goes on now to go along with those two guys you of course still have that guy avonte Maddox who I think is a pretty good player and when you move back to the safety room I thought we saw CJ Gardner Johnson make some plays and I think that was a great addition this off season as well to go out and bring him back and then of course we also saw that guy Reed blankin ship who I think is extremely underrated make one of the biggest plays of the entire game by getting an interception there was a big reason why the Eagles were able to win this defense should continue to get better as the season goes on and I really do think they have a chance to be a top 10 defense in the league and man if you pair a top 10 defense in the league with an offense that just put up 34 points despite having three turnovers I just don't see a world where they don't win the NFC east and they also don't make it deep in the playoffs with a chance to win it all but of course
