I WAS WATCHING THIS ON SPACEX WEBSITE, AND EVERYONE WHO IS THERE, I THINK IT WAS 2:00 IN THE MORNING FOR THEM, THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY THRILLED. CAN YOU REMIND PEOPLE WHO IS ON BOARD AND WHAT THE CREW WILL BE DOING. >> IT REALLY IS AN EXCITING FLIGHT AS THESE THINGS GO AS IF ANY ARE NOT EXCITING. THE COMMANDER IS JARED ISAACMAN, HE IS A BILLIONAIRE ENTREPRENEUR AND PHILANTHROPIST HE CHARTED THE VERY FIRST SPACEX MISSION IN 2021, RAISED MORE THAN $240 MILLION FOR ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL IN MEMPHIS. VERY ACCOMPLISHED PILOT IN HIS OWN RIGHT AND QUITE THE ADVENTURE. HE CHARTED THIS MISSION AND COOPERATION WITH SPACEX FOUNDER ELON MUSK HIS CREWMATES ARE SCOTT POTEET, A FORMER THUNDERBIRD PILOT, VERY ACCOMPLISHED AIRMEN AND TWO SPACEX EMPLOYEES, SARAH GILLIS AND AND A MINIMUM. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SPACEX HAS HAD TWO OF THEIR OWN ENGINEERS ON BOARD ONE OF THEIR SPACECRAFTS. PRETTY EXCITING FOR SPACEX TO HAVE THEIR OWN CREW MEMBERS. OF COURSE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MISSION, AS YOU SAID, THE FIRST CIVILIAN NONGOVERNMENT SPACEWALK COMING UP EARLY THURSDAY MORNING, THAT WILL BE QUITE DRAMATIC AND RECORD-SETTING IN AND OF ITSELF. >> THAT ALONE. WE HAVE FOUR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER DONE SPACEWALKS BEFORE, AT LEAST ONE PERSON IS FAMILIAR. I HEARD THAT THE ROCKET IS GOING FURTHER INTO SPACE THAN THESE ROCKETS DO GIVE PEOPLE A COUPLE TIDBITS, REMIND THEM OF HOW THE HISTORIC THIS IS. >> IT IS INTERESTING, THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION ORBITS AT AN ALTITUDE OF ABOUT 260 MILES. THE SPACEX CREW DRAGON, THE POLARIS DAWN CREW IS IN ELLIPTICAL ORBIT, THE LOW PORT IS AROUND 180 MILES, THE HIGH POINT IS 870 MILES. THAT IS HIGHER THAN ANY ASTRONAUT OR COSMONAUT, FOR THAT MATTER, HAS FLOWN SINCE THE APOLLO PROGRAM, SINCE THE APOLLO ASTRONAUTS FLEW TO THE MOON. NOT ONLY ARE THEY CARRYING OUT THE FIRST CIVILIAN SPACEWALK, THEY ARE GOING TO SET A EARTH ORBIT ALTITUDE RECORD FOR PILOTED SPACEFLIGHT. THAT IS ANOTHER BIG STEP FORWARD FOR SPACEX. >> AND, THE FIRST TIME THERE SPACESUITS HAVE BEEN TESTED IN SPACE. >> THAT IS TRUE. THEY ARE WAITING SPACEX DESIGNED SUITS. THEY DO NOT HAVE AIRBAGS OR AIR PACKS, I SHOULD SAY, LIKE YOU SEE ON THE SPACEWALKS THAT NASA DOES IT THEY WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE CRUDE DRAGON SPACECRAFT BY SAFETY LINES AND A PINNACLES THAT CARRY THEIR OXYGEN AND COMMUNICATION. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FLOAT FREE OF THE DRAGON, THEY ARE GOING TO FLOAT UP OUT OF THE NOSE HATCH, JUST ABOVE THAT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES EACH, JARED ISAACMAN IS GOING TO DO ONE AND SARAH GILLIS WILL DO THE OTHER ONE. THEY ARE GOING TO TEST THE SUITS AND TRY TO COME UP WITH A LOWER COST EASY TO MANUFACTURED SPACESUIT THAN WHAT NASA CURRENTLY HAS.
