The Truth About DWP's Latest PIP Updates

[Music] good morning everyone hope you're doing okay uh welcome back to another episode on the channel um and it's me inside the car again of course uh this time I'm actually balancing you on the steering wheel so hopefully the camera doesn't fall off but we will see we will see there's a really strange woman walking up and down the street I'm not sure what's going on this morning she's been weird maybe just maybe she's from the DWP who knows anyway guys if you're new here please do consider liking and subscribing to the channel it's a massive help to me and it makes the channel grow and it means that these videos can reach other members like yourselves so today um I want to quickly talk about the whole pip assessment situations the PIP news the PIP updates there's been a lot in the press as you probably imagine at the moment um and the media unfortunately does lie a lot guys okay okay um please don't take what you see in the media as gospel truth the majority of it is lies and it is designed to fearer I suppose if that's the way I would probably use um most information I do get is from disability news service and also people in the DWP direct so today I want to talk about um it's all written down on here so I forgive me I've got but hey fa I coming it's very warm at the minute um so the DWP has issued a new update on current pip payments assessments after recent reforms announcements um so the DWP has recently launched a consultation proposing new changes to pip uh which you've also seen in the Press be including you know vouchers for payments instead of money um taking people who are on mental health support capacity off pip for example you know these sort of changes have been announced as as such um but the DWP today has confirmed and this is the key crucial element for you all here there will be no I repeat no immediate changes to pip uh or to health assessments so following a recent government announcement on plans to reform the disability benefit uh Minister for disabled people health and work Mims Davies MP whatever um also said all scheduled pip assessments and payments will continue to proceed as normal claimants should continue to engage as usual and provide any information on updates regarding those circumstances so basically guys carry on as normal nothing's changed just continue what you're doing if you're if you're applying for pip you carry on the usual routes if you're doing an assessment uh you're giving them information just do what you're doing now nothing has physically changed okay so despite what you may be hearing from people on Tik Tok or other YouTube channels because there's a lot of out there um that unfortunately are giving you a lot of Mis information um and you know these people have got a lot more subscribers than what we've got but they're unfortunately hooking you in and giving you lies so yeah please don't listen to that um okay so let's have let's have another look I did write notes but to be honest with you I'm so tired of my phone's all over the place this morning um the DDP the DWP Min Minister Tong twister um said that modernizing support for Independent Living the help for disability green paper looks at different options to reshape the current welfare system so that we can provide better targeted support to those who need it the most we all know unfortunately sometimes that doesn't go very well and it causes more issues than good uh we have considering the options for our 12we consultation so that was published on Monday 29th of April that's available online you've got access to see this uh just type in disability green paper it will come up in Google it's the first page you come to um it will close on Monday the 22nd of July at 11:59 p.m. then what they'll do is they'll do an analysis of these options and they'll consider potential impacts on claimants with different health conditions so now this is the time for you to have your say so just go on to Google whichever search engine you use type in disability green paper there's a whole list of application well it's not application it's more like a a form online that you can fill in give your feedback support um say whatever you say you know if you're not happy with the proposal agreements say that you know have your say basically it's all about what you want to happen effectively so it's it's there um but Mr Davis contined there'll be no immediate changes to pip or health assessment Ms um all pit assessments and payments will proceed as normal um you know literally it says that here so the NHS responded as well about the support side of it and what they've effectively said is that between 2018 and 19 um and 23 24 why did they just put the dates properly uh spending on Mental Health Services has increased by 4.7 billion in cash terms compared to 3.4 billion set out of the time yeah the reason why it's increased is the country is an absolute Heap people are physically sick to death of this country you know people want to leave this country now its own population simply because it's they've been treated that bad um don't forget we went through covid for two three years just saying you've literally screwed up People's Health so um all I would say is guys like I said you know they're they're doing excuse me I'm so sorry they are doing literally a proposal for changes okay so some of the changes that they've announced they want to do is going to be um instead of cash payments you get catalog and Shop scheme which in this kind of scheme there' be an approved list from disabled people uh which so so there'll be approved list for disabled people which could choose items that reduced or no cost this wouldn't likely work better for equipment and AIDS rather than for services that won't work let's be honest uh vure scheme again same system won't work a receipt based system effectively you buy things yourself up front again I'm not sure how they're going to think that's going to work because a lot of people that's on disability haven't got that much money so you know buying something for 7800 and then getting money back from the government no that's not really going to fit well is it uh one-off grants you know towards home improvements that sort of thing yeah you know what I don't often agree with that but oneoff grants for people should be considered money shouldn't be stopped though um people are using pip to pay for their daily living you know it's in their name it's actually in the name of the award personal Independence payment you are independent so you're spending that money on what you want to spend it on yourself not what the government says you should spend it on I'm sorry that's how it should stay you know oh god I've got a really bad cold I'm so sorry this is coming across as terrible forgive me um like I said hey fever or cold B both I just feel crap at the minute um yeah so please do go online guys uh fill in the green paper award um you know give your feedback on it giving your information tell them how you feel about it what you'd like to change if anything um what would suit you better as a disabled person uh and again please please please stop listening to a lot of larger YouTube channels out there that think they know everything about personal Independence payment and the benefits system when in fact they know diddly squats um and in rather respect they'd rather turn on disabled people and have a change of tune which you would have seen recently from a few YouTube channels actually uh where have changed their tune against disabled people and they're now singing the praise of the government no we will never change uh we will stick to the way we was originally designed and brought up I've said before I'm not afraid of the DWP I'm not afraid of what they may or may not do because quite frankly they have no power they are not above the law they are never Above the Law um As Long as You Follow things correctly and procedures correctly and do what you're supposed to do then you will be fine so please don't panic about that um I expect the comments to come flowing in below freely from this one in subject to comments guys this one will be switched on so have your say have your thoughts um we are starting a new segment on the channel in a few weeks time called response to the idiots so which that basically means that if you give me a crappy comment down below or any comment in particular which you know seems a bit stupid we will put you on the spotlight and do a video about you so if you want you five minutes of f go ahead now's your chance Sweet Cakes anyway thanks for watching liking subscribing guys we'll see you in the next video and the next go live uh which should be today uh Friday so we'll see you all a bit later on bye for now
