yeah this is the segment we talk specifically about elections we've been being very local lately but we are going to go to the presidential race as it seems to be tightening even more uh president Trump was out in front of President Biden and the lead was widening which is why the president left the race I think President Biden left the race for two reasons and he was approached on these two reasons number one he wasn't going to win the poll numbers had uh president Trump ahead but expanding that lead in swing States so much so the Democratic support was falling and so what they were concerned about was that Democratic voters would stay home that their guy wasn't going to win they weren't going to go to the games and kind of like Florida State fans right now understanding leaving the stadium early you know you can't win you might as well leave um you know you know Gator fans by the way this weekend same thing um uh just had to rub it in a little but this they were concerned the Biden campaign was concerned Democrats were concerned that Democrats would not show up at the polls so that was the biggest concern not just losing the White House but voter turnout would be low Republicans would gain in the house and take over the Senate now we've got vice president Harris is the nominee what she did was stop the bleeding of those poll numbers and there was a Resurgence there are stories out there that I think are accurate that you have seen a voter enthusiasm outpace and doing a great job job over some Trump supporters I was in Pittsburgh I was it just happened to be uh my last stop yesterday before I went to the airport with my friends we went down to the Confluence we were at Three Rivers I went down to the spot beautiful Fountain they have a marker that shows the Confluence of the Three Rivers it really is cool but there was a march yesterday the Labor Day March and there were Harris wall signs everywhere the vice president spoke um and there is a huge amount of support it is you cannot deny that there is some enthusiasm now there's reports about it stalling which is going to happen at some point you have to get down to business and that you know all joking aside about football if you're going to use the sports analogy you celebrate a big win and um you have a big win but then at some point you've got to close the door on the win and realize there's a lot of work still to be done and so I want I want you to hear Rick Klein ABC talk about enthusiasm stalling for the Harris campaign doesn't mean it's over it just means the honeymoon part of this the this is amazing part of it is over and the work Begins the momentum that vice president Harris had the last few weeks appears to have stalled but she retains a slight Edge in both National and Battleground State polling our latest poll with ipsos shows Harris up 5246 among likely voters that's basically where the race was before the Democratic invention it's still there now that is better than President Biden was looking when he exited the race a couple weeks back when he was trailing nationally and in the major Battlegrounds our 538 polling average now has har us up just slightly in six of the seven Battleground States this remains pretty close to a tossup as we enter this critical stretch so what will be the deciding factor in all of this and I still think the debates are going to be an immense part of this September 10th I think the debate is going to be watched with the same curiosity and enthusiasm and anticipation that we saw between Trump and Biden because it now we're talking issues if you look at the ads that are out there they are focused on issues and when you focus on issues and I think this is the way ultimately it should be and will be we there are those out there that cannot stand Donald Trump so any misstep anything he does I'll give you an example with Trump he has now embraced that dance he does during his rallies he does it at every rally and what everybody else made fun of him with his supporters can't wait for him to do it it may sound silly to you especially if you're somebody that can't stand Donald Trump but that dance where he pushes his fists out in front of him and he does almost he looks almost like the uh the Chipmunk from uh catty Shack that's become something but it is again people made fun of it uh vice president Harris in my opinion kind of stepped in it she was in Detroit and if you haven't heard it you're going to now cuz I listen to it it's hilarious we fall into this trap when we want to um when we want to fit in and if somebody's got an accent you talk with their accent and I want you to hear vice president Harris in Detroit you tell me if she is now putting on an accent you better thank a union member for the Fay work week you better thank a union member for sick leave you better thank a union member for paid leave you better thank a union member for vacation [Applause] time I it just made me laugh when I heard it it was cringy um not as cringy as Hillary Clinton and I'm not going to play that but if you're old enough to remember her speaking to a crowd o of uh I believe it was of black women mostly I don't remember the circumstances but she was quoting and she was is trying to put on this fake accent I Ain't No Ways Tired and it was horrible it was cringy it was this desperate desire to fit in um a and it's not the end of the world I don't think that's what's going to make people decide but when they sit down and they have to defend their past one of the things that's being lamented by democrats is that vice president Harris is moderating her stance on fracking the Biden Administration when when President Biden when Vice President Joe Biden was debating uh in in 2020 when he was debating in the primary against Bernie Sanders he made promises of no more drilling no more fracking they were going to just destroy the fossil fuel industry no more drilling onshore no more drilling offshore no more drilling that was this promise and they kept that promise for the most part there was at the beginning of that Administration there was an assault and Onslaught in the fossil Fu against the fossil fuel industry the vice president has moderated that view she's no longer against fracking um in Ohio the senator from Ohio is is moderating his stance on the green New Deal and fracking because it's such an important important part of that state she also is moderating and changing her stance on the border she's talking tough on the border no specifics yet but she's going to have to defend those changes the former president has got a lot he has to defend he has to defend all of the spending that happened during Co he has to defend the fact and I guarantee you it's going to come up multiple times that more um there was more money added to the national debt during the Trump Administration than was added during the Biden Administration there's going to be no doubt about that and that's going to be brought up he's going to have to defend it it's a fair question and when those questions are asked about law enforcement about crime in our cities we talked about the Border earlier there's a a Venezuelan gang that's taken over an apartment complex and and uh Colorado's pretending it hasn't even happened you you can't do that it's it's you are going to have to answer for these things are they your fault no why are they not your fault well here's why well what should we do about it what are we going to do about the borders what are we going to do with our issue at the border how do we secure it what's a fair immigration plan those are going to be the the deciders in this election we've been through the RNC we've been through the DNC they've changed horses they're going to have to defend the fact that she wasn't voted on by anybody that they picked her she was crowned as the nominee all of those things if she can answer those questions if she can address those issues she's going to win if she can't and the former president can answer those questions better than her he's going to win it's that close and I I just think it's it it's
