"That's the Football We Want to Play Here"

it's a big challenge for this group but you know we're up for the challenge we got the guys to get the job done and you know like I said it's it's our style of football and try to match us try and match us for entire four quarters you can do it for a little bit but do it for four quarters we'll see if you can do it Brady Oliver I imagine it felt good to uh get back out there after missing a couple games yeah you know uh felt good to get back out there with my boys and compete and uh you know just try and win some football games with the organization so uh yeah I felt good man just wanted to be back out there with the boys and you know that's really all that matters just going out there and playing for one another and trying to get the job done though next time I'll correct myself a couple weeks but you just missed the the one game week two uh how was the body feeling I feel good yeah um had a little little hiccup in that in that first game against Montreal that kind of set me back a little bit didn't feel like myself so uh yeah had had to take a week to really get my body right I I didn't feel myself in there and I know you I'm not as impactful when I don't feel myself so uh I had to just get back to normal back to 100% and uh I felt like that when I on Friday so that was uh that was a good feeling fans a little bit um you know confused by seeing you number two on the depth chart and we know what Johnny can do and he's been a great tail back when you're not available or is a change of pace um can you provide some some insight into you know what exactly happened there yeah um you know o makes it the the final call right and uh uh you know I give credit to Johnny right he's he's always been available and and uh always steps in and and and gets the job done um so you need that you need that on a football team you need depth it's uh it's a long season it's grueling uh a lot in the body so you need guys to be able to step up all across the board you know offense defense special teams um but I I do think you know when I'm in there I do bring a different energy and a different vibe and I think I bring a spark to this football team and I think you know when I went out there Friday I think the guys felt that I felt their energy and everything felt good and it was clicking while while we're in there in the Huddle so I'm I'm hoping moving forward that I get a lot more opportunities and obviously I don't I don't make those those decisions but you know I'm ready and I feel good and I know what I can do and when I got in there for limited reps I I show what I could do so uh yeah just going to whatever the team needs me to do I'm I'm here to do it obviously not the results you guys are looking for um you know in the first three weeks but is it fair to say that the offense has taken steps in a positive direction from week one to your most recent game yeah oh yeah for sure I think you see it all across the board I think uh specifically you see it you know in the Run game you know that's our that's our bread and butter that's our DNA and I think this past game against BC you're able to see see that right we're we're getting into our groove and and playing you know our style of football and and being physical and and moving the those guys up front and our offensive line did did a heck of a job so we're just going to continue to build on that we know that this team uh buil thrives off that and builds off of that if if we're rolling in the Run game uh you know usually it's a it's a good result at the end of the game so you know we're just going to continue to improve continue to get better and and come out here every day and work and try to get some positive results how frustrating is it as a teammate to you know see guys go down to injury and and knowing that you might be without them for a while yeah brutal man that's uh that's the worst part of the game um you know it's inevitable it happens just sucks especially you know you get so close with these guys on the team and they're just such great human beings I mean people forget that we're people first right and um you know I can speak on Dalton right I mean uh you know one of one of my closest guys in this locker room and uh you know just such a good human being first and then yeah a great football player so it's unfortunate seeing seeing that happen to guys that come in and work hard every single day and you know they just want to get their opportunity and then that happen so it's unfortunate but now you know people got to step up and you know you're here for a reason you got to make plays and we're on the guys in the locker room to get it done Calgary stamp Peters are an opponent uh when they face the Blue Bombers it always seems to be really spirited passionate hard nose football can that maybe be a good thing right now to uh know that you know the the test isn't going to be easy but uh that you know you're going in there with a lot on the line and uh good for the Mind space yeah totally you know obviously everyone says you know the Western opponents are always going to be tough and it's always going to be be a battle but honestly and any team we play in this league we get their best you know for the last couple of years you know people trying to knock us off and uh whatever the record says you know we're still getting everyone's best right so it don't matter if it's west or east so we we do know that Calgary likes to play physical brand of football and I'm excited for that the guys in this locker room are excited because uh you know that's the football that we want to play here so it's going to be a battle man a full full 60 minutes and we're looking forward to the challenge imagine you're looking forward to uh facing a very physical uh front six that that Calgary brings that kind of feeds right into your game I love it man you know I want to I want to play against the best go against the best and um it's
