Full interview: Travis Etienne on attacking each week with new mindset and growth of RB Tank Bigsby

I'm here with Jaguars running back Travis ET and Travis one preseason game left um coach said y'all going to play about the first half uh do you feel like you need one more kind of go at it to kind of settle the pads and get ready to go I feel like I feel like I'm ready to go honestly I feel like I really don't need it but I feel like I love to have it just to go out there and just be able to put good things on film kind of set the tone for the season and I feel like that's the where I just got to attack with that mindset I know coach said uh press Taylor talked about it kind of changing the offense a little bit he said after last season they tore it down to the studs and we're kind of rebuilding it from your view I mean how different is are things is it something that like the fan will notice or is it just something like you might know it's a little different I mean I don't think the average fan would know honestly I feel like it just we just kind of slowing the game down just us being in the scheme just just knowing offense a little better we able to go out and execute what coach really wants and know just be able to go out there stay on the field move the chains and and play and play complimentary football I mean there are always expectations after maybe the way last year ended how eager are you to get back out on the field for a regular season game and and start stacking wins I feel like I'm very eager I feel like uh especially how last seon ended we definitely want to go out there and just kind of just just start fresh I feel like when we going out there in uh week one it kind of give us a fresh start you now it's a new team A New Journey and all this is going to be behind us so I feel like everyone's really really ready to go out there and start have that Fresh Start I know your name's getting thrown around amongst the top 10 backs in the league a lot how I me does that just motivate you more to go and kind of cement your name as one of the top backs in the league uh most definitely I feel like cuz cuz uh just I feel like no one plays a game to be top 10 you know feel everyone plays a game to be that guy be number one and I feel like that definitely give me motivation to go out there and just just just just just stick to it just uh kind of stick to my routine just keep being silent but deadly you know and uh just kind of let my play speak for itself and uh feel like it definely give motivation to continue to push forward now you can't do that without your offensive line you want to show those guys some luck for the hard work they've been doing so far through training camp ah most definitely I feel like I feel like a running back own as good as offensive line I feel like I feel like when they have things going to make my job just so much easier and I feel they have been doing a great job and I feel like just just us simplifying offense has really worked well for them also and I feel like we just all on the same Pace we kind of been in this together and I feel like the biggest thing for us is just staying healthy and just going out there and just playing for each other each and every week I know you weren't on the field last week but when you see Anton Harrison out there I mean he got two Pancakes on one run for uh for tank to clear out a little space that got to get you a little excited oh most definitely definitely you get a guy there just flatlining people I feel like it makes my job much easier I feel like he kind of just tastes like just just run behind Anon clearly you know and uh things that go well for you so I feel like definitely a great sight to see all right you're wrapping up camp uh how what's it been like getting to know coach Mack I feel it's been great to get coach getting know coach Ma I feel like he's a great offens of mine I feel like Ju Just his background just his knowledge of football is really good for us as running backs I feel like the way he's teaching the game the way he's just teaching us football we learn much more than just what we supposed to do knowing um just defensive coverage just fronts just how he talks football I feel like he's just a great offensive mind I mean I feel like I'm glad he's my running back coach I feel like he's definitely going to be a head coach one day whether it's in college or somewhere but I feel like just I'm just glad that he's here with us right now and you're in your second year hanging out with tank in the back field what's it been like watching him go from a rookie to the second year guy who who I guess is going to have a big role in this offense I mean you've seen him have a fantastic Camp uh yeah I feel like man for tank the sky is a limit I feel like he had to just he has to just stay locked in and just understand what coaches want and uh just don't get too high don't get too low just kind of just be ready whenever his name is called and I feel like he keep taking advantage of opportunities great things going to come for him you've been with Trevor for a long time at this point uh does are you guys just kind of clicking on the same page sometimes you look at him he looks at you it's just there you know know what each other's thinking uh most definitely it's just like second nature for us I feel like we just we communicate without having to communicate to each other we just always on the same page we've been playing football for a long time together we've been in the fire together we've kind of been through all kind of situations that you can think of so uh whenever the whenever stuff H def fan we kind of know each other's going to think and we know we're ready and now we just on the same page two wins so far through the preseason you could go three and0 in the preseason can you build momentum going in the regular season from preseason wins is that a thing n you nah you can't even make it a thing honestly cuz if it was the other way around you know you would try to downplay so I feel like you just have to attack each and every week as as a new one you know I feel like the big thing for us this season is getting one and know every week uh whether we win or whether we lose just attacking it as is the first game you know and uh not making a moment too big for for us got you appreciate you bro sir
