this season that came at Target Field against Carlos rodon and the Yankees back in April and Springs to Jeffers and the first pitch is a strike and that's where Springs is going to be around 90 mph yeah that's where he sits I think uh he's coming off Tommy John surgery so I think he's still trying to get settled in and he's still trying to regain his his fast ball strength and and uh hasn't been stretched out totally yet but fast ball sits between 89 and 90 mph Springs has been really good here at home in fact the raise of one each of springs' last 11 home starts has a really good change up as the fast B at 91 misses ey I say he has a good change up historically yes still trying to find the FI for that pitch so far this year as opposing teams are slugging 500 off that change up so far and there's a fast ball at Jeffers he might have been thinking change up there the fast B locked him up one out yeah definitely think Ryan Jeffers was sitting off speed you tell right there by the way he took that fast ball fast ball inside S I think he was sitting change up all all along as we said with Royce Lewis last night swinging more at the first pitch than he ever has before and stays on that same plan and fouls a knee high pass ball back for strike one that swing resulted in an RBI double in the opening opening inning last night you like to see that from him especially with guys in slider and then he'll back it up with that four seam fast ball and I would say that's definitely his out pitch B in big situations that that's his best pitch trying to come back down 3-1 against of run value the slider has been springs' best pitch so far yeah I think he's still trying to get a feel for that change up um in 2022 that that was his Goto pitch and I I I think I still think that's his that that's that's his number one pitch but like you said you know early on like I think that slider that that's been a little bit more effective he's been throwing that pitch on the inside corner but that change up that that's his that's that's a pitch that he wants to perfect I think once he gets that third too to Second and they get the lead man in Farmer Runner goes and the pitch aside
