but now my next guest are hosting the show that everybody is talking about and if you're not talking about it you should be Love is Blind UK sees single men and women look for love and get engaged all before meeting the person face to face you've never seen them uh we've seen love triangles honeymoons meeting the parents and now the final two episodes are out today we're all uh asking who is going to make it down the aisle please tell me I know you can't tell us but I have to there have to be a success I love them so much BR we can't tell you anything I'm so sorry have you had to abandon all friendships in your circle you can't talk to anybody about this it's actually really fun because everyone goes we can't wait a week please we just and we're like no no we're not telling you anything it's really fun it's and you know the thing is I've been obsessed with this show you know the since the very first episode of the first series in America I watched all I listen to the podcast about it I love this show I always want wondered whether a British version could be made cuz I think I don't know whether it's just my perception but there's this particularly for the men British men this this perception of the stiff upper lips still I don't know if that's still true Matt and this show certainly boxs the trend absolutely I mean I I was I was thinking the same I was like are British men going to be as open as what we see in the American show but we saw that happen you know I think there's something about that pod environment that you just have no choice but to open up because you're stuck there there with with someone and you're talking for hours and hours and hours and everything comes out and they're in a bubble so when you're in the Pod you can't see a camera ah so it's almost just like you know you're you're you're not going oh well there's that there and that there they're all hidden so it's just the two of you making that connection without ever laying eyes on each other which is bizarre right because we live in a world where you see everyone everything it's all kind of made to look gorgeous and glossy all the time absolutely and that's what I part of what I really love about it is that it's that human connection and then when they see each other does it continue and you know it makes me think you think you want your boyfriend to watch it just by just look at this is how you can talk about your Fe you know what I mean it's some of them are so great at like sort of you know connecting the dots looking back going this happened in my childhood I don't have a great relationship with my dad so I feel like this about relationships but those sorts of conversations don't really they can be much harder to come by in but this really shows why it's important I think and you two show why it's important I mean you two have shared you know a lot of your trials and tribulations we've got weeds you've got it all going on absolutely ab and you've been married for 16 16 years yeah together for 20 I think that's the thing I think um I think with this show like this because these conversations um uh go on for so long you know that that things just come up like and everyone's got a bit of baggage yes you know everyone's got something that they're dealing with do you want kids what about your fertility I me all this sort of stuff and can we talk about I know we can't give too much away because I'm actually I'm not even up to date yet I'm still like catching up on some of them but um can we talk about Sam yeah yeah he's a bit of a talking point isn't he episode 4 10 minutes in I was so traumatized by the entire thing yeah I don't want to say too much but everything fell on the floor the it's just like there are so many red flags yeah there are but again you just we just talked about people have baggage right and that's one thing we don't really know about Sam I don't think haven't heard Lots about kind of maybe what his might be and we don't we don't know what that is do you know the off camera now these guys everybody who's in the show or have you not by we do the podcast we've met a few of them and we've done the reunions so we've had like a a a really good good gym wag with them all on camera and off camera for you two does it make has it made you have conversations about how you met and would you have you know had you not seen each other how you're Rel you know does it make you question your own relationship how I'm really glad that that we are not part of the dating world as it is now with the app culture and how you meet people I would really struggle with it so I'm really pleased that we met 20 years ago when you just had to go out and meet people yeah and didn't she chase you is that right she did yeah can I have that on camera please did she did definitely chase me and you know happily so yeah yeah and do you believe Love is Blind I mean having been in the show and watched it happen I think it can be without giving anything away we know from the the series around the world that it does work right it works people are still married people have had babies it does work do all of them work and of course they don't but every date you go on doesn't work either so it's you know trial and error isn't it but I think it can be yeah now Matt is it right that the last time you were on L rain you said you were going to do something wacky for a big birthday oh and you've now got Emma's face I have yeah yeah on your body it was our wedding anniversary it was your wedding annary and I thought you know I want to make something special a big gesture a big gesture and I've been planning it for years for now years yeah years we've been talk about this tattoo for years right and years and so um so I went I went and got it done can you show up can you go on you want to count there's lots of like oh she doesn't like it she doesn't like it it's not that I don't like it for years right for years he showed me the picture he's going to get right and it's when I had short blonde hair and it's a bit kind of pin up and I'm in a like a polka do bikini and it's all kind of very you know very kind shiny shiny and really nice and I'm like oh okay great the morning he went for the tattoo he went we've changed our mind we changed the picture I'm like all right and he shows me this like sultry 15-year-old picture of myself I'm like oh oh oh okay so so it's not that I don't like it it's just it was such a shock that it was something very different from what he we see can we see it let's have a little look where I'm glad you're wearing baggy baggy that's gorgeous there we go oh my I mean it's it's i' don't think but halves that is gorgeous there she is quite a number oh look I don't get to see it like that you can't get rid of him now can you he's got a tattoo of your face he got my eye here he's had that for years that is abs abely fantastic I got my eye on him always exactly quite right quite right so love is blind absolute success and I honestly can't think of anybody else who could present the show it had to be you too when you got the phone call were you excited super excited as soon as we watched it we were like this has to be us it has to be you we love it we kind begged didn't we we went we went for a meeting with them and we were like you know when you're like are you seeing other people please don't are you dating other people you meet other people but please please pick us pick us please pick us right love is blind is available on Netflix
