Is Rings of Power Season 2 better than Season 1?

Intro rings of power season 2 is finally here and the first three episodes totaling over 3 hours dropped this morning on Prime video on top of that we also got the full reviews from various media Outlets who have all gotten an early access to the footage it's a bit confusing though because it seems like some of the outlets have only gotten access to the first three episodes others have gotten it for the entire season and the reviews are mixed to say the least some are saying it's the best fantasies since season 4 of Game of Thrones whereas other are saying that it's just as bad as season 1 me personally I'm kind of somewhere in between and I wanted to share my thoughts on the first three episodes in this video and I'm going to try to keep it fairly spoiler-free so if you're more like wondering should I watch season 2 hopefully I will also answer that question but if you watched it I'll still be specific enough that you can probably understand what I'm referring Thoughts on Season 1 to so starting off season 1 for me was a bit of Hit and Miss I really liked some story arcs especially everything with Sauron was in in my opinion great not perfect but great it was what carried season 1 together with Adar and the Orcs whereas like Galadriel and the numenorian stuff I just really didn't like but at least for me season 1 was still interesting enough that I watched the entirety of it whereas I know some people just watched like one or two episodes and got bored and if you did I fully respect that too but for me at least it was interesting enough to keep me hooked so how about season 2 then The Intro of Season 2 well it starts off with a quite interesting scene that you you only be seeing some images in the background of that I'm going to try to keep the biggest spoilers out of there but basically a little bit of a backstory for Adar saon and S and how Sauron got to where he was in season 1 and I quite like that seeing all these different versions of Sauron is something I really enjoyed even though there is one particular form of him that we see for like a minute or two which is just straight up strange those of you who have seen the episodes knows what I'm talking about and I'm not really sure I like that but nevertheless when we move The Best Parts of Season 2, So Far to the actual main story what I really appreciated these three episodes was honestly the entire story line with Sauron killer bmore and the fortune of the Rings after all that is what this series is about and Vickers and Edwards who play Sauron and Kell bmore both do a phenomenal job so far and Sauron basically manipulating everyone from Adar to kinbar to all the elves or basically he manipulates pretty much every person in Middle Earth at this point even though this is just the beginning of it was what I think just carried these three episodes as is something we've obviously all read about how the Rings were made so that he could control the elves the dwarfs the men by then later at some point of course creating the One Ring which maybe we will see either this season or in future Seasons I'm not sure so to see these Rings being created the corruption that he puts in them and how much the elves also hesitate to use them is something that I think they depicted very well as well as his transformation and appearance as anatar which we've also seen somewhat in the trailers it always feels a bit strange when it's something you've read Sauron being depicted as the Lord of gifts anatar how are they actually going to make that work in a TV series and I think they did a really good job of that and there are always things from books that do not translate super well into visuals such as maybe that first depiction of saon I talked about earlier whereas others Works a bit better then of course we do have all the The Least Interesting Storylines other story lines some of which I'm not a huge fan of Galadriel felt a little bit toned down I wasn't as bothered about Clark's performance of Galadriel in this season as I was in the first season it also feels like they toned her down a bit she wasn't as present and as annoying if that's even the right word to use but I felt that they put more focus on more interesting characters but I still kind of feel the same thing about numor I don't really know what's going on there the storyline there almost feels like the showrunners don't even know what they're doing and personally whenever numor showed up I was like come on just get this over with same thing goes a little bit for AER elendil and Theo they're kind of just Side characters that don't really matter in the larger scope of things but as always in these kind of series or movies you need to have those small guys you root for but I didn't have too many issues with them so far this season and I almost completely forgot to even mention the story line with the isari and the haroot I'm still not sold on that same thing here it's still a little bit better than the first season it feels that they focused a bit more on him which I guess is the important story I guess that could still be Gandalf but we don't know but in general not my favorite story line either I'm not really sure where they're going with it where he's going and who that dark wizard was who tried to find him and at the same time was trying to find Sauron very unclear storyline maybe it will turn out to be something cool or it could just be a flop like in the first season who knows but as of right now not sold on that storyline and I also want Círdan the Shipwright to add in that Kiran was a very nice breath of fresh air into this series he just felt like a great portrayal of a old and wise elf and I love that he was just so logical I feel like a lot of the elves are just not getting straight to the point they're always talking in riddle and they just they're just annoying kind of but Kiran was just logical wise calm and I think he added a very nice presence to the series and was portrayed in a very accurate way to at least the way I've read about him from the lore so I'm really happy that they brought him in for season 2 but for me The Highlight of the Episodes the Highlight really was with Kell bmore Sauron as well as everything going on with the dwarves but when it comes to Sauron something that I thought was really interesting is something they started building up season 1 basically having all these Orcs kind of hate Sauron that's basic basically he enslaved them but as as far as I know even though the Orcs might not love SA or they might not see him as his father or savior they never actually rebelled against him at least not to the degree they're doing in rings of power where they all fear and hate him and basically want to do everything they can to kind of get rid of him and that's something I find interesting but I'm not sure how accurate it is to the actual lore but only judging it in this series I think they do a pretty good job of depicting Adar as basically their father he just wants to give them a home he wants to give them a purpose whereas Sauron and mor goth before that just used them as slaves in a war for them to gain power so that way it makes sense that they want to support Adar and not Sauron and First EVER Female and Baby Orcs while we're talking about that we actually got to see the first ever orc baby or at least we got to hear it held in the arms of what I guess is a female orc I think we can see kind of some female Orcs in Lord of the Rings at least there's one in particular outside of ministeria I always thought was a female orc but this is the first time we actually see almost like an orc family which I think is quite interesting I mean tolki and himself even said that yes there were orc women just we didn't get to see them much cuz we usually see Orcs in a war situation when it would usually only be the men music was really The Fantastic Music good as always and I just love the theme that they use for Sauron or whenever he's manipulating or the dark themes that they have in rings of Power are really well done and I can't wait to see how they're going to do with that later in the season and I of course also have The Beautiful Visuals to mention the visuals in the series are just stunning probably one of the things things I have the least complaint about me sure you can still discuss whether or not elves should have short hair and things like that but in terms of like the CGI the visuals the series is just beautiful everything looks like a painting and it is a joy to look at and that's definitely not something to be overlooked even though a beautiful series will still be bad if the story is bad and I think everything with the Orcs And Adar is also really well done and looks pretty much like the Practical orc effects of The Lord of the Rings trilogy compared to the more CGI Orcs in in The Hobbit but I also do have to bring up The Slow Pacing the complaint that it is still a little bit slow or at some points very slow because we need to keep in mind that this was over 3 hours of material which is the length of one of the Lord of the Rings or Hobbit movies whereas the story itself did not really move forward that much even though I enjoy the parts with Kell bmbo the forging of the Rings and all of that it is still just too slow there are exciting Parts in there but the stuff in between does feel a little bit like filler and that's basically how season 1 was even though in my opinion at least season 1 was way worse where it was way more filler less big highlights and also a lot of stuff that just wasn't very good but for the rest of the season The Geography and Time there are obviously a lot of potential when it comes to the forging of the Rings the battle with Adar and whatever else could happen I do however think it is a little bit strange the way they aren't able to get one simple message from lynon over to regon to tell kellmar who anatar actually is yes if you look at the map of Middle Earth you will see that regon is pretty far from Lindon whereas casad Doom is actually pretty close to regon so it's not too unlikely that they can go pretty fast between kadom and Reon whereas Lindon and regon are a bit more cut off from each other but like with most the rings of power they are basically squeezing down the timeline a lot from the books and making it seem like this manipulation and forging is something that takes weeks maybe months tops and not hundreds of years which is the way I at least understood anatar manipulation of a regon in the books so to answer the The Final Thoughts question question is rings of power season 2 better than season 1 I think so it's not perfect but it is exciting enough for me to give it a chance and I do think the rest of the season has potential the reviews are like I said all over the place and the episodes weren't released that long ago so the most of the general public might not have time to see it yet but I would love to hear in the comments below what are your thoughts on the first three episodes and would you like to see my review of every episode coming out of rings of power in the next couple of months thank you very much for watching and as always May the Orcs be with you
